George and Ruth Culver opened their first restaurant in 1961 in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Originally an A&W, the pair purchased the restaurant and renamed it Culver’s. The restaurant chain serves typical American cuisine such as hamburgers, French fries, and milk shakes.
In 1984, son Craig Culver introduced frozen custard to the menu, a novelty at the time. The company specializes in fried cheese curds, fish, and veggie burgers.
In 1987, the first franchising operation began in Richland Center. The original franchiser walked away from the deal after one year because the Culver’s had not asked for any fees or royalty monies. After this, the Culver’s set up a franchising system.
In late September 2020, the CEO Joe Koss announced his retirement after 23 years with the company. The search is on for a new CEO.
Today, the company has more than 760 franchises in 25 states, with approximately 40 more locations being added each year.

We are so very disappointed that Culver’s has pulled out of building a new store in Cottonwood Arizona. Our town is growing very rapidly and your company would do very well here. Why are you not considering a restaurant in our town? Everyone loves your menu. Please Please reconsider. ????

I was an employee at store #603 in Kissimmee Florida until I quit the other day for the way I was treated upon quitting I was told that I was being fired and that didn’t bother me because I wanted to leave but they said it was because I called out to much even though the reason I called out is because I have a kidney stone and am going through the worst pain imaginable. They really tried to fire me for needing to rest while going through a medical issue

The Culver’s in Lyons, IL is a poorly run location. My minor daughter was assaulted TWICE by an adult employee (Rosemary). This adult employee also made hostile comments loudly in front of the employees and customers about how she can’t stand this girl and how she wants her fired. The shift leaders did nothing about it! Chris, the “manager” even had the nerve of meeting with my daughter to scold her saying that she needs to show respect to other employees. My guess is Rosemary went to him to say that my daughter came to her station to help her and she didn’t want that. She told him that the 2 leads during that shift told her to help Rosemary because she was behind, but Chris yelled at my daughter anyway. Chris even said to stop trying to impress him and stick to her designated station. WTH! The next day after my daughter had time to process everything and talk it over with us, she went in and asked to meet with Chris to report the assault and hostile comments. Chris pulled another manager into the meeting, Rachel. Rachel didn’t join the conversation and acted as if she didn’t want to be there. My daughter told him that the 2 shift leaders told her to help Rosemary and that she is just trying to do her job. Chris called the shift leaders in and asked them if it was true. They said it was true. Chris apologized to her after everything. He then told her that she was a great employee and to keep up the good work. My daughter then proceeded to tell Chris about the comments and assaults. He told her to write everything down. She included the dates and times of both assaults. Chris said he would check the recordings and let her know what he finds out.
Then in retaliation, she was written up. The shift leads pulled her aside at the end of her shift and told her that she added fruit to her fruit punch and ice cream cone on 2 separate occasions without paying for them. The first incident happened during her first week on the job. She poured herself some fruit punch from the soda machine and then added some strawberries to it. Paul, a shift leader watched her and ask her to make one for him. When she brought it to him, he told her that she is not supposed to add fruit to the drinks and to consider this a warning. WTH! The second time was 2 Sundays ago when she added the flavor of the day to her ice cream cone. On the weekends, employees are allowed to eat for free. She was never told that she could not add the flavor of the day to her cone. The next day or two, my daughter approached Chris again asking questions about the write up and he said that it means nothing and she shouldn’t need to worry about it. She told him that she is not a thief and would pay for it, but he said she didn’t need to. She then asked him for a copy of the write up and Chris said he would give her one. Well, he never did. Then my daughter asked for an update on the assault and hostile comments and Chris stated that he was confused on which date of recordings to look at. Remember… my daughter gave him the dates and times. All he has to do is look at the dates my daughter gave him or look at the schedule to see the days my daughter worked with Rosemary. Well, that was almost 4 weeks ago!!!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! It turns out that Chris is friends with Rosemary and that is probably why he is stalling.
This past Thursday my daughter filled in for another employee because she was sick and two other employees started chanting how they wanted the sick employee and not her. Paul did nothing to stop the behavior. Then she was told by Paul that she had to pay for all her drinks except for water. In the Culver’s handbook it states that all beverages are free to the employees on duty. Paul creates his own rules and enforces them only on people he doesn’t like. Paul also gave breaks to all the other employees and decided to not give a break to my daughter. My daughter started her shift with another employee and that employee was given a break. My daughter worked 5-11 without taking any breaks. I do believe this goes against IL Labor Law.
My daughter was ALWAYS at work 15 minutes to a half hour early before her shift and also started when she arrived. There are times when she asked to come in hours earlier because she knows they will be busy. She ALWAYS filled in when a mass text message went out looking for staff due to employees calling off. She even worked 10 straight days to fill the employee shortage. This location usually has to close their dinning room due to lack of employees. She has received several great reviews from her customers on a daily/weekly basis.
When my daughter first started working there, they had her closing every shift. No other employees other than the kitchen staff and shift leaders closed in the front. The majority of the employees left at 10 PM. So she had to clean the dinning room and bathrooms, but only after 10 PM when the drive-thru closed. When she was finished, she was told to help the kitchen staff. There were times she was there well past 11:30 PM and even past 12 AM. Why? The dinning room closes at 9 PM and drive-thru closes at 10 PM. Since my daughter doesn’t drive, it was up to her parents to pick her up. She decided to request a change to her schedule. Now that she doesn’t close, we are noticing that there are multiple employees scheduled to help with closing the front? Hmmm. The nights when my daughter was either scheduled to close or filled in for another closing employee, I would wait for her in the parking lot and watch her work her butt off cleaning the dinning room all by herself as the other closing employees, Paul included, would just stand around laughing and playing around. Employees are unable to clock out without the approval of a shift leader or manager. When she was finished with cleaning the dinning room, Paul would keep her there longer and make her do other tasks all while he just stood around. This is ALL on camera.
Chris and Paul are very unprofessional and have no business “managing” anyone. Paul should work on his hygiene and appearance and shouldn’t be around food. Paul is also a slacker and makes all closing employees stay 2+ hours after closing to milk the pay.
I called corporate on 3/11/22 around 9 AM to get ahold of Guy Hollis, the owner and still haven’t heard from him. I guess he doesn’t care about the well being of his employees. Due to the lack of concern from the management and now the owner, my daughter decided not to work for this company.

This complaint is for 56th st in Indianapolis,In. Drove 20 minutes to get there last night. Waited 20 minutes in a long line at drive thru(not a problem and we expected the wait). Ordered medium chocolate shake, small cup of vanilla, large salted caramel sundae. They brought the order out. I drove to the parking lot next door. The shake had a spoon but no straw and was too runny to eat with a spoon but could not take the lid off because it would overflow all out of the cup. The vanilla cup was the same. The sundae was sealed in a banana split boat and could not take the lid off because it too was so runny we needed a straw to drink it and it would run out all over the car. I took it back inside and gave it to the person at the counter. Told them I needed straws to drink the sundae and vanilla cup. No apologies given to me and no refund offered. If your machines can’t freeze the custard STOP TAKING ORDERS OR FIX THE MACHINES. A 20 minute drive each way and $13 wasted on items that went into the trash. Very disappointed and will never be going back to that location on 56th Str at Fort Harrison in Indianapolis.

Train Cashier at Drive-up had to repeat order twice, still did not add bacon to Dbl CB, Ketchup only on receipt, but no Ketchup in bag. Order came out after LONG wait outside, boy said still no bacon on receipt, went back inside. BIG female mgr came out, dirty & disheveled, messy hair, dirty apron, to charge us $.50 for bacon, gave her $1.00. More waiting. She came out and said everything was in there, I specifically asked if “extra Tarter” was in there, she said “Yes”, she lied. Drove 35 min home. NO KETCHUP FOR CB, NO TARTER FOR FISH, spent $27.78! Called Culvers, spoke to male mgr. he said he would put us on the guest list for free CB and Fish Sand. Then put me on hold. Came back and said that female packed the bag herself and those WERE IN THE BAG! She lied again! Just like the train cashier! They refused to replace our food then! I have no other choice but to dispute the entire charge on my Visa, post my experience on muyltiple websites and file formal complaint with district headquarters against this mgr.!
As a forensic psychologist for the last 41 years, this is a case of a mgr with a Personality disorder, who has no difficulty lying on impulse, an Antisocial trait. Where there is smoke there is fire, so she has more history of conflict, likely legal trouble with multiple tickets, violation of restraining orders, arrests. No doubt the male mgr who issued the two new sandwich’s was overridden by her. Due to her rudeness at the restaurant, we recorded our phone call when the manager granted us replacement sandwiches and put my name in his guestbook. In Arizona, a verbal contract is binding. Hopefully, someone in higher management has a conscience, will listen to it, and make things right.

I’d like to share my story and how I learned of Culver’s with you.
I’m a born and bread woman of the south coming from the small town of Selma Al. Finding myself in Milwaukee Wi. where I met the man of my dreams whom was from there. As we started our life together and I took him home to get to know my family the first place I took him was this little roadside Barbecue place called Barnes Barbecue. He hadn’t had any experience with this kind of Barbecue so I was very excited to share my love of it with him. He instantly fell in love with this place and their Barbecue. Every trip we made home that was the first place we went even before going by family. They knew us so well that the owner would make me a gallon of the sauce to take home to Wi. with me. Fast forwarding to many years later when Culver’s open the location in Milwaukee, when we stopped to see what it was all about. We both ordered a Barbecue pork sandwich and at the same time with much excitement said oh my gosh it is so close to our favorite back home in Al. We became regulars at many area locations and searched for them when we traveled. When we decided to retire and move back home to Al. we went by Culver’s on our way out for we knew our favorite place back home was no longer open due to the death of the original owner. So things reversed for us for when we went home to Wi. to visit his family and friends our first stop was Culver’s for a Barbecue sandwich. Life’s little pleasures, how exciting it was for me to one day a couple months ago discover that a Culver’s location would be opening in June in Hoover Al. Mind you it’s an hour and 15 minute drive for us but very happy to make that drive. Today for what ever reason I pulled up the menu to find no Barbecue pork was to be found. I started researching and even finally called and asked about it only to find out that there will never be Barbecue Pork at Culver’s locations. I was told it had something to do with it’s sales totals. Well I’m confused, Al. is all about some Barbecue Pork, I can’t imagine for a second that it wouldn’t hold up in sales in our state. Now I know that none of this is important to you but I wanted you to know that I think your missing the opportunity to really soar here. Don’t get me wrong I know you have other great food choices however I personally almost always had the pork. My daughter who now lives in Mississippi was also excited that when she came to visit me we could go and enjoy our favorite sandwich. She said when I told her what I had discovered that she had found out when she visited a Culver’s on her way to Chicago last month and that she was not willing to drive the distance when she comes to visit me. It’s about the fact that everywhere you look there is a Barbecue place here and knowing that it’s so popular on the menu at most places, it’s hard to imagine a Culver’s here without Barbecue Pork. To end this I’m going to say that when I visit that area of Hoover Al. I will most certainly go for custard there and I will continue to promote Culver’s to everyone here I know. I’m so so very saddened that this item isn’t going to get a chance to shine here. I can tell you we have been back here since 2003 and I personally haven’t found a place to yet that even comes close to what your Barbecue Pork was like, so I don’t have it ever. My husband continues to keep trying different places in hopes of finding a good one but not me. I guess I’m one of those people who order the same things at the places frequented. I know it’s a bad habit but I like what I like. Anyway thank you for finally bringing Culver’s to our fine state and I hope you do very well. I know Foley Al. Has a location so I’m hopeful that one day one will open in Prattville Al. This isn’t meant to be a criticism letter. I just wanted to share my love of Culver’s with you and to do that I also have to share my sadness of no Pork Barbecue.
Thanks for your time if you see this.

Culver’s, Holland location, was there last week and ordered 2 double burger baskets deluxe, when we got them we had to almost take out a magnifying glass to find the 2 burgers, looked like singles, they were dry, not juicy like they used to be and not at all like the pictures of the coupons we got today in the mail, wow, no comparison. I let the Holland Culver’s know, but get no response back from them, inexcusable. McDonald’s has better quarter pounders and double quarter pounders than what we got last week from Culver’s. Pictures on coupons are so very misleading and should never be printed like that. Shameful.

Today we went to Culver’s, we ordered two double cheese burgers, one in a basket, the other on a gluten free bun no basket. We also ordered two coffee’s, and par for the course they would have to make more coffee, but would bring it to us when ready. Our sandwiches came right away , we got two baskets instead of one. As we sat there waiting for our coffee and our meal was getting cold, we asked a server if she could check on it, she did not return. My husband finally went up to the counter and asked for our coffee and mentioned that they said they would bring it to us. The girl at the counter then told us they were not allowed to bring the coffee to the table. This is not the first time we have screw ups by the staff, the last time there, no coffee was made, we ordered two double cheese burgers and cold slaw, we received a single cheese burger. We have been good customers at the Ankeny, Iowa Culvers Restaurant, but we are thinking now of going elsewhere.

I wish to commend the entire staff at Culvers located in Harwood Heights, Illinois. They are the most countess, kind and extremely helpful people it has been my pleasure to deal with. The help and advise they gave me in selecting my dinner was awesome. They brought our dinner to our table and asked if we need anything else to please ask them. The North Atlantic wild caught Cod, the Walleye, the pot roast, and mashed potatoes’ were great. I can’t say enough about how great our dinning experience was. Thank you for being here for us.

Dear Culver’s, I am totally disappointed with the service I received recently at your Brown Deer, WI location.
I placed my order, for two Walleye Dinners, one with fries, one with mashed potatoes, I repeated my order twice to the at the service window. and I sat in the drive through lane waiting I opened the package just to make sure it was correct, I found one Cod and one Walleye Dinner.
I returned the Dinner stating my disappointment and returned the package.
After some time I entered the Restaurant just to make sure I would receive the correct order. I arrived home some fifteen minuets later only to find I had received the very same incorrect order. I knew they had fried another piece of Walleye,as I had waited at the counter. Where it went to I do not know. Today 4/1/19 I received a $.4.00 voucher by mail for the inconvienianc, Whats This? I spent approx $29.00 for two Walleye Dinners and recieved two cold dinners, that had turned to mush! and something I did not order. I am respectfully requesting a full refund of my money , and I shall return your $4.00 to the manager of the store either way. Respectfully submitted.Thank You,Valerie Wright.

On Feb 1, 2019 I stopped at the Culver’s in DeForest Wi (#030) and ordered 2 Cod dinners to go. I opened them up when I got home 5 minutes after receiving the order and could tell they didn’t look normal. The green beans were a blanched out color like they were canned beans. The whole meal had the appearance that it had been microwaved, due to the containers being partially melted. The breading on the fish was soggy. The meals were marginally edible. Definitely not what we are accustomed to at Culver’s. But this is not my main complaint. Immediately after choking down that horrible meal I logged on to the Culver’s website and entered my complaint in the Contact Us / Restaurant experience section. I explained my poor experience and submitted the form. To this day I have received zero response acknowledging my complaint. The next time my family tosses out ideas on where to eat, Culver’s will not end up at the top of the list for options.

My wife and I have been going to the culvers in monroe ohio since it was new we love their burgers and krinkle fries.we go to culvers usually once a week.We have gotten to know some of the employees there on a first name basis. However while having a conversation with one of the senior citizens who just recently quit I was informed she and several other senior employees quit because they were being harressed by the younger employees. Why didnt the manager interveve and stop this unfair treatment? These were very good workers. in case you are not aware there are labor laws againet harrassment and Hostile work place inviornments. I told these workers to file charges, and i would help them if they need me to.as a result of these we will never eat there again and neither will any of our friends This younger generation gets their first job and think they should be intitled to the shift they want and the days they want.they are rude and foul mouthed they need their mouth smacked and taught respect.any manager that allows this type of work environment should be fired along with the employees.I have been in management for 22years there is no way i would allow this kind of situation togo on in my work place. The experienced employees and good hard working employees should be treated as one of your most important assets.I am encourageing these to initiatelegal action against culvers nd also consult the department of labor and the national labor relations board to file charg for age discrimination..

I was so upset I threw most of my food in the trash. someone needs to investigate this store it get’s worse every time I go there I feel as though the owner is not a caring person his only goal is money and his employees are aloud to talk anyway they wish and it is okay he says its not the case but it is and this is not the 1st time I was disrespected by his employees it happened one other time I want a full apology from the 2 employee’s

I have friends in Addison Ill, that go to the culvers on Lake and Lombard. They are so disappointed with the service. They rarely get the correct order, one of them likes the Tenders and they say they are not any bigger than there finger. They don’t think they want to go there anymore. I work for culvers for seventeen years, and we do not have that problem. Our motto is LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER. They order two original tenders, one mashed potato with beef gravy, and a coleslaw. they get a basket, and have to tell them its wrong. One of them has talked to the new owners and he appoligized and gave them a free Cod sandwich and a pint of custard. but they go back and get the wrong meal again. I keep apoligizing saying Culvers does not want this. Maybe someone should help the new owner out. He needs better help which I know is hard to find now days. I love my Culvers and working there and I do not want them to have these feelings. /Thank you

On 7/24/18 at 7:45 We went to the Culver in Matteson, Illinois, I order 2 double cheese burgers no bun deluxe, extra lettuces and the cashier repeated just as I said. I got home shower and changed ready to eat my burger and first of all: I saw catsup and everything else but no mayo, I don’t eat catsup and from reading the sign when placing your order it states a list of things that goes on the deluxe , and catsup is not included but your associates-evidently don’t know this! And why they don’t know this? Then I said I will just wipe it off the catsup but the burger was pink inside, and then I called the manager the she said can I come back tonight I said no, she said when is the next time u can come back and I told her I can come on Thursday, and then she informed me of a new policy that I have to bring the receipt and the raw burgers back. I told her it was their fault my order was not done right and she then said the GM is here would u like to talk to the GM, I said yes, I waited at least 8 minutes on the phone waiting for the GM to resolve this issues but no one ever came to the phone. And this is why this letter came about. Also this is not the first time my order wasn’t right but it’s an on going issue. I know you have a lot teenagers working in this location but someone should be over seeing what they are doing. More training is necessary to know what goes on a deluxe burger. If things don’t get better I will not be back anymore.

The Culver’s restaurant on Washington Center Road in Ft. Wayne, Indiana is rapidly going downhill. The custard is served mushy. Very unappetizing. The burgers are often not seasoned properly. The air conditioning system in the restaurant has not been working properly all summer. The table and floors are not properly cleaned. Sometimes the restaurant has an odd smell. Seems as if the owner has lost interest in this location.

My husband and I have been frequenting Culver’s in Anderson, IN for several years at least twice a week, but unless we’re assured that our “fried breaded tenderloins, fries, and your cod fish dinners” are cooked properly we won’t be returning. I was getting your fried cod fish dinner with an extra piece of fish at least 3 to 4 times a week. My meal was $13.99 each visit and I loved it, but I stopped ordering it two weeks ago when the fish was greasy and yellowish in color I got sick at my stomach later. My husband’s tenderloin was tough, yellowish, and also greasy, We hoped to get good breaded tenderloins this evening. I’m sorry to say that both sandwiches were tough, the breading wasn’t adhering to the tenderloins, the meat wasn’t completely white and the fries were hard and almost cool in the center.
I worked behind a fountain that served meals and fried foods and I know that the fryer has to be hot enough to cook the meat and fries at the proper temperature or food isn’t cooked thoroughly. Both of these last visits were about 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. You need to investigate the situation to ensure the fryer is in proper working order and/or the cooks are trained to process the food properly. We want to continue frequenting this
location but I want your wonderful fish, fries and tenderloins fixed as required. Our survey code is 75100-00289-1706-2381. Awaiting your response. Thank you.

First, I would like to say my food was delicious and made correctly the way I requested it. But my complaint is with the lack of And the terrible service my local culver’s provides to its customers. the Lombard Illinois store Has the worst Service I have seen for a fast food restaurant. When I arrived. The line was 5 deep. And within minutes. Another for deep besides myself. In the mean time. There were visually. 3 employees. At the counter area. Doing everything. In anything except taking customer orders. One gentleman was busy, wiping the counter. Another girl was playing in the ice cream area but accomplishing nothing. And another young lady was running around Confused like a deer in headlights. While all the time the manager was in the kitchen. Grilling burgers. He recognize the traffic jam at the counter. And started yelling. Somebody man, the counter, we have hungry customers somebody man, the counter. Well least to say. It took another 3 full Minutes before anybody came to service the counter and take orders. now in the restaurant business 3 full minutes is a long time, and a lot of lost money If those customers chose to turn around and leave because they got tired of waiting. I was very displeased with the service. So I called corporate. And made a complaint. The young lady in customer service. Took my complaint. And said thank you for your time and letting us know have a nice day. There was no offer of A complimentary meal or a complementary ice cream. She did offer to send me an ice cream coupon because they neglected to give me my guest receipt with the survey on the bottom. So she did nothing to give me anything free. I was entitled the survey coupon for a free scoop of ice cream. So customer service offered absolutely NO compensation of any kind for my displeasure after visiting their restaurant and again offered No compensation for me and my families experience.
Like I said earlier, the food was fine. It tasted good, but the service really needs to be taught again. Because they are more worried about wiping counters then taking orders from the people who pay their salaries.

Wouldnt it be great to give away a free ice fream for this upcoming: Fathers Day 2018? I work in the dining room most every Sunday & think it would be wonderful for Families to know beforehand that on a special holiday they would get a free treat! Just to let them know we REALLY APPRECIATE their business!?❤️

On April 2, 2018 Culver’s opened a franchise on 34 St. N in St. Petersburg, Florida. I was so excited about the grand opening especially after viewing the television commercial. I do not eat fast food at any of the well known eateries due to the quality and taste of the food. However, the first time I ate at Culver’s I loved the food! Now I eat at Culver’s at least once or twice a week. The Atlantic Cod lives up to it’s reputation. It is absolutely delicious! The food arrives hot and fresh! I can’t seem to eat enough of the North Atlantic cod basket!
I live about a mile from Culver’s so they are convenient. Plus this restaurant is next to Aldi’s Grocery store and a block away from Sam’s Club which makes it easy to eat there.
Thank you and congratulations on opening your new restaurant!
Sincerely,

I LOVE CULVERS! Not just the food but my position at the company.
However Im an older worker and havent been out & about working anymore for a long time.
But CULVER’S gave me a chance, and Im sincerely grateful!
However, now I’ve been sick for 2 weeks with the flu and respiratory illness; I am slightly worried that my manager will let me go; just when Im starting to have fun! I’m part-time and have only been there 1 week before falling ill. Im a Dining room Operator and love to chat with our customers; and hope that my manager will wait for me to come back. BTW: My Manager is a great guy!

We are frequent customers at the Little Canada, MN store. Last night I saved our receipt (Guest 95) to call in for the survey that would result in a free scoop of custard. I see you can no longer phone in the information. I have spent over an hour trying to complete the necessary info. I have been unable to bring up the web site (tellculvers.com) with no success. The store code is 1000980 and our survey code is 98080-00412-1702-XXXXX. This is far to complex for senior citizens. We have appreciated the good service and excellent food, though we too miss the Sunday night fried chicken dinners.
I was very disappointed at the number of e-mails from former employees who had been treated poorly by their managers. I hope that this problem can be rectified throughout the country. Thank you for your attention to the above mentioned instances – plus and minus!

My daughter kayli ward is an employee at the florence ky us 42 location. Tonight 2-4-18, kayli approached her manager amber to put in her 2 week notice for better pay. Amber told her to clock out immediately at 5:30. Kayli was scheduled till 7:00. Amber proceeded to physically take the headset off of kayli’s head and told her why wait 2 weeks you can leave now. Kayli told Amber that she didn’t have a ride and Amber replied to Kayli that she better start walking then. Kayli is 15 lives 12 miles away. Culvers is on a busy highway its dark and cold out and she tells my daughter to start walking not good at all. There are 3 other employees that tell the same story as kayli. Haley, Emma, and Corey said that Amber fired her on the spot for turning in her 2 week notice. She was rude, unprofessional, and broke labor laws with discrimination. We will be calling corporate in the morning and the board of labor. We expect some sort of response as to what culvers plans to do to fix this problem.

Kayli has never been wrote up and always performed the best she could.

Your English and grammar is absoletely horrible. But, no, employers do NOT have to give you a reason for termination. You can’t just make laws up out of thin air.

You are doing the right thing. Culvers cares more about there bank deposits than there employees. I worked at a Culvers and was forced out particularly discriminating against me and several other workers. They don’t follow the labor law pertaining to minors at all.

I currently work at one of your locations in Willmar, MN and was just threatened by one of my managers that they aren’t going to be giving me my hours until I’m motivated & task oriented. This was very upsetting, as I am always doing my best & am a hard worker at Culvers. But my time is never appreciated or hard work is never recognized. I honestly would rather be dead than continue working at Culvers. And also, it would be great if there was some benefits, but it looks like you only want teens & kids working at your stores. There’s nothing beneficial for us older workers (25-30). I’m being discriminate by one of my managers just bc he thinks I’m not doing a good job, are you guys going to continue letting crappy things happen in your stores??Apparently no one cares!! I’m planning on quitting and finding a much better job!! My time isn’t obviously valuable to you guys.

I am a Wisconsin gal, transplanted to AZ for 9 mos of the year. Tonight I visited a Culvers in AZ on Deer Valley Road #379. It was the worst experience that I have ever had. Had this been my first visit to a Culvers, I would never go back.
First of all, we were not greeted when we walked in as we were accustomed to hearing. The young man who took our order seemed rather unsure of himself, but I figured that he was probably a new hire and so dismissed it. We ordered a Cranberry bacon blue salad (my favorite) and my husband ordered a butter burger with pickles on the side. We asked for the Gulden’s mustard and we are not fans of the yellow mustard. The packets were all flat and appeared dried out. The guy gave us a few of the packets and we thought we’d try them. They were like mustard paste… unedible. We found out that all the packets were the same… flat and so we just skipped the mustard.
The order came to the table in a timely fashion, but we noticed that the pickles were skipped and so we asked for them and they were delivered quickly. (That’s good)
My salad was not as fresh as I am used to having. There was a smaller amount of the cranberries, cheese and the bacon. That was disappointing.
Looking around the restaurant I noticed two tables that were not bussed and the garbage cans were overflowing. There were some napkins and paper place mats on the floor. This is not the standard that I am used to seeing.
We went back for some custard to take home… 4 for $10.99. The young lady was very much together. She double bagged the custard and was very efficient.
We thought of saying something to the manager, but he/she was no where to be found… or maybe he / she was but we didn’t know. There was no sign anywhere saying who the manager was, none of the business cards that would have given us this information. There was a plack on the wall noting some award from 2005, but no other information, even on the door as you enter. Very odd.
We think that this location might need a looking into. If this is the impression that people get from Culver’s, the company is in trouble. Our favorite location is in Prescott Valley, who owner is Caleb Meyer. Now, THAT’s the impression that should be given to all visitors to a Culver’s. He’s also a Wisconsin boy and so he KNOWS how to run the francise.
Sorry for the complaint… but we love the chain and look forward to visitng it when we are on the road.

As far as the food goes this is one of the better fast food chains but when it comes to management I do believe they need improvement in some of the locations. My son had worked for a local culvers for over a year. He had received a couple pay raises as well as a crew leader promotion. He was always willing to pick up shifts and never called in sick. Within the last few weeks my son was offered a new job at another business with higher pay as well as more hours. I told him to professionally let culvers know with a 2 weeks notice. Trying to teach my son to be a professional when it comes to work. Well in return for his professionalism the manager of this location decided to not schedule my son for one single day in those 2 weeks. To me this is unprofessional, specially to teens that are learning the ropes and responsibilities of leaving one place for another. Though I like the food, my family and I, as well as several others within the community will no longer support this Culvers and hope that new management will be implemented and things change with this so other parents trying to teach their teens the responsibilities of a job will not have to explain to them why even though they were professional still got screwed.

My son has worked at Culvers for 2 years and just experienced almost the EXACT same thing! He put in a very professional letter for his 2 weeks notice because he is moving on to a new job. He has less than a week left and he was fired! He was fired by a new manager that had the ordacity of accusing him of abusing his girlfriend, who also works at Culvers. First of all, he is NOT abusing his girlfriend. This manager was in an abusive relationship and says my son reminds her of her ex. Secondly, I am SHOCKED that the other managers allowed any of this to happen! My son has came in and covered many many shifts for other employees and has helped train new staff. They have known him for 3 years, and with less than one week left there, he is treated this way?!

This is a horrible place for high school kids to work she is an honor student and was inducted into national honor society this year which she gave her manager 2 weeks notice for and she said if she was on the schedule she would have to work and miss the induction very bad management!!!

Thank you Keli for purchasing a Culver’s gift card. Gift cards ordered online can take 5 to 10 days to receive. With it being Christmas on Monday the card should be arriving today if not tomorrow.
Very disappointed with reply, no apology and no extra effort during holidays.

Culvers is slipping. Went to dubuque restuarant. The bread was stale, the custard was grainy, and as usual, coffee was a problem. Never have fresh and while they say they will make more, it never arrives before the meal is finished. Very major issues. Stopped at culvers in clinton a couple weeks later. Coffee was again an issue. Offered to make it. We waited. Sent a young man back to get it. Got as far as the counter. Sat there. Again asked for it. Arrived cold. Told me the coffee pot wasnt working, they would make some more. I was finished by that time. Got coffee at Quick Trip on the way home. Dont reply. Just fix it.

I just recently went to the Culvers in Princeton, IL. and it was literally the best Culvers I have ever been too. It was raining and a crew member ran outside with an umbrella to pick us up from our car, while the manager held open the inside door for us and greeted us with a big smile. I’ve never experienced that anywhere before. They continually checked on us throughout the night and the place was so clean. I am very pleased with my experience at this culvers

My son and I went to the Independence MO Culver”s on Blue Pkwy tonight and the girl that waited on us was clearly flirting with my son which is 34 yes old ( has gray in his beard ) I was sctually smiling to myself think it was funny and cute . Wellll then she turns and looks at me and said ” Mam would you like to get your senior citizens discount ? Are you old enough ? My son & I looked at each other like what the heck ? Seriously ? I have never been asked that by anyone before .all we have ever had been ask is are we brother and sister even husband and wife ,but senior cizen never .Lol so my son said well how much i’s the discount and she said she didn’t have any idea. It’s was very clear to me that it was a put down to me on purpose. A direct mean comment because she thought we were together as a couple . I was sitting there watching her as she was looking towards our table and laughing with another Co worker. I called when I got home and someone by the name of Gary answered and he knew exactly who I was talking about and he said no they do not ask cutomers if they want their seniors citizens dicount and are they old enough for it. He said they would talk to her , but I know that’s doubtful. She wore glasses and had reddish brown hair. This has always been a nice place to eat the kids that work there are very nixe , but not this one at least she wasn’t to me. If she does this all the tI’m that’s not good.I doubt we will go back there. She’s a very rude girl.

after working at one of your stores for almost a year , my daughter ,who is a 16 year old high school junior, recently had to quit because the manager would continually make her close…
She would get home at 11:30 -12:00 at night 3-4 times a week, she asked the manager if she could not close so much as it was starting to affect her school work…he refused and just simply cut her hours to nothing, forceing her to quit…
It’s absolutely disgusting your company would allow such treatment of a hard working young lady..especially a 16 year old girl…

The Powell Ohio Restaurant of the the Culver’s is way by far the worst Restaurant. Slow, rude ,people, and terrible service. How can you have a restaurant as it is and be able to keep the doors open? I traveled almost 90 miles to get terrible service. Someone from corporate needs to go undercover there and get a eye opening experience.

On September 23rd, at 8:30 PM my husband and I stopped at th Northport Drive location in Madison, WI. We love Culver’s and visit th Waunakee location often. Northport was the dirtiest store we’ve ever visited. Tere was food and garbage everywhere on the floor. The tile floor was so dirty the tile color could not be distinguished from dirt color.
Right as we were leaving a young lady was spraying and wiping down tables. She never moved the items on the tables (salt & pepper shakers, and table advertisements). All food she wiped when on the floor. When she sprayed and wiped off the chairs, she didn’t take the time to push the chairs into the tables. It was pretty obvious she was there to only collect a paycheck. Not to work.
There were many staff people standing around who could have cleaned, and take pride in the company they work for.
Thank You for listening.

So I am former employee, and I have a serious compliant about a employee who still works at the Plainfield, Illinois location. I believe the store number is 365. I never felt comfortable about talking to the owners about it, due to the poor handling of previous claims of sexual harassment among another employee. Mick Jensen has on numerous occasions he has brought alcohol into the store he would drink it in the coolers with minors amongst other employees as well. This was never a one time thing, it happened on every shift he worked. He was also in a position of management, now a trainer, and he would also perform sexual acts with minors in the cooler. Something needs to be done about this kind of ILLEGAL activiy. I wanted to give you the opportunity first to handle this within Culver’s, before I have to go to the proper authorities about this situation.

I have known mick for years and this is absolutely obsurd. For this to never have been mentioned in the first place seems kindaaaaa sketchy to me and you just PERSONALLY seem to have it out for him. So your argument is absolutely invalid, if these incidents occurred it would’ve been brought up to the other managers and owners attention, so coming out now doesn’t do s**t but make you look like you’re out to f**k his life up right now. So you need to stop right there, you don’t have anything to do with his life so carry the f**k on. It shouldn’t at all concern you.

I worked for culvers for 3.5 years, and Fort Myers Six Mile Cypress was by far the worst location i worked at, i started when i was 16, it was my first job and i loved it… i grew in the company as i transferred locations when i moved, and i was a manager at the six mile location. The GM John Sanderson is less worried about his employees, and more concerned about what alcohol awaits him at home. I had a cut on my stomach that was bleeding for 12 hours maybe and i had to go to the hospital, when I approached him with this issue You he said we had no one to cover and had me work anyway. Now mind you it is highly unsanitary to work with blood on clothes, and instead of covering my shift so i could go to the hospital he had me working in the kitchen as i bled onto my shirt. He plays favoritism, and if you arent in that circle then you are getting yelled at for everything you do. This store sent me into a severely depressed state, and the stress that john brought to my life caused me to become suicidal. He new my issues and decided to make a scene of my issues.. I ended up walking out of this store, and in doing so John found time to text the management staff that i quit and we are a better team with out me. I am not writing this to find any compensation for the XXXXX this store put me through, but it needs to be heard that this is not a place i ever would recommend someone to work at.

I go to Culvers in Columbus Indiana about 2 times a week, its fast service and good food while on my lunch break. I order the same meal every time I go. About a month and a half ago It was another typical day of ordering the same meal and when I got back to my work to eat my lunch my sandwich was not the sandwich in which I had ordered. I called them and they said they would write my name down in their book and send me a coupon to replace my whole meal. I asked the manager if I needed to keep my receipt and he said no that my name and address would be put in their books. A month went by and still nothing in the mail from them. I go back to Culvers and explained at the window that I have not received my coupon yet, they go and get a manager I told the manager that it has been about a month and I still have not received anything in the mail. He said he would take my name and let the other 2 managers that take care of sending out coupons know. It has been 2 weeks almost 3 weeks late and still nothing in the mail. I go to Culvers today and at the window they go and get the manager the one who mails out the coupons and she asked me what the manager name was that I had spoken to and I told her that I couldn’t remember his name that it has been a month and a half ago and she said she couldn’t find me in her book so there was nothing that she could do about it. Are you serious right now. They cant take my word for it. Even the girl in the drive thru remembered me and she knew they messed up my food but they didn’t take her word for it either. Word of advise if they screw your food up, WRITE their name and keep your receipt. What a joke, Its said the place that I love to eat at and has so much money off of me cant even replace my food that they screwed up. This is so upsetting.

I had an oreo custard. I was drinking it last night. First, there was cream all over the side of cup. Then I saw that it was my leaking cup sitting in another cup. Ok, then as I kept eating & stirring the custard, I felt something hard in the bottom of cup. I thought it was an oreo cookie. Then I poured the concrete into a bowl & dug out a WING NUT… Yes, a WING NUT,, I could not believe what I saw. I called the Culver’s here in Blue Springs, Missouri, the Manager, after listening to me tell her what happened, she told me to bring it back to Culver’s & she’d fix me a new oreo concrete.Free of charge. That pissed me off. There was no shock or caring in her voice. I told her NO, I was gonna show this to my lawyer. So,she asked my name & phone number to give to her supervisor. Which I did. So, what should I do now ? I’ll not be going there any more. I feel the problem is the young people that work there, don’t really care. It’s the supervisor’s responsibility to teach them how to make the food & drinks correctly. And alot of kids today, don’t have respect or heart. Empathy goes a long way.

I went to the Culivers on 575 W Layton in Milwaukee on 6/16. I had a free burger coming from 3 Sundays ago so I came to get it. Well when I got there–the manager came and made me feel like I was making the story up. He then went and looked it up to see if I was correct which took like 10 mins then I place my order again once he found it. The cashier read my order to me and the manager was in back of them to make sure it was correct. Well you would think the manager would make this burger right with the cook? No that didn’t happened…when I got home it was wrong again. I called and the manager had no empathy for messing this one up. He told me to call the morning manager tomorrow. I then called your corporate office and told this incident. I have not heard nothing on this and from the looks of the comments on this page–it looks like you guys don’t resolve the issues. I will never eat at Culivers again. I also wrote a bad review on their Facebook site. Just a tip for your managers when you guys mess up customer’s meals –have the managers have some empathy because it atleast makes you think you care about customers .

I am a big fan of your cashew chicken salad, however the last two salads that I have purchased at the Belvidere Illinois store have been so salty that I could hardly eat it. Now it is only the grilled chicken that is salty but since I bought them at the drive through window, I didn’t have the opportunity to return them. The first time, I thought it was a fluke, so I tried it again last week and it is still extremely salty. Please correct this as I cannot buy another one like this!

We have been loyal/frequent customers over several years at your restaurant. As such we have obtained and completed several survey receipts for free scoops of custard. This evening we tried to use two of these receipts we still had from 2016. However, we were told they would not be accepted because they only had a 4 digit code and not a 5 digit code. There is no expiration date listed on the receipt. Further we were told that even receipts with a 5 digit code from last month or earlier would not be accepted and we have several of those. I find this very disrespectful as we took the time to go online and do these surveys only to be told they are no good. It is a bad policy to offer something to regular patrons and then in essence say, just kidding. Of course we are very frustrated with this as we were told the completed survey receipts were worth a scoop of custard. Not sure if we will continue to eat at your establishment, but I would hope there is some sort of remedy for this situation.
Thank you,

Hi,
I went to Culver’s in North Mankato, Mn 56003, on May 2, 2017. I got there at 8:10pm. I got to the drive thru around 8:15pm. I ordered two medium root-beers, and two onion rings. I got my order at 8:42pm. I waited more than a half an hour for an order that should have taken less than five minutes. I could have gone somewhere else, for example, a restaurant and got my food within that time. There is no reason why my food took that long, considering it was two onion rings. Not happy at all.

Please bring back the fried chicken!
I ordered it every time I went to Culvers, which is at least once a week, for quite a few years.
I miss the chicken!
Thank you.

Just ate at the Muskego WI location and was disappointed, first the bacon burger I ordered came with three day old lettuce you could just taste it was off putting I couldn’t finish the burger, second I’m not sure when you switched to the current cheese nuggets but they are not as good as before I also asked for chilli cheese fries and they skimmed the top of the chilli pot instead of mixing it before putting it on my fries, just very dissapointed especially since it usex to be great food and I love in Pennsylvania and was looking forward to my home state culvers…..

I had the absolute WORST experience at your Fort Mill, SC location. Your manager, Mama D, is rude and has a nasty attitude. I sat in the drive thru waiting area for 20 minutes (after waiting for 15 minutes in the drive thru line to order). When I went inside to ask about my order (2 chicken tender baskets) I found out the order never went through even though I had already paid. I never received an apology or an offer of a refund (which most restaurants will do if a customer had waited that long). The fry cook said she dropped the tenders when she saw the order but never got a ticket. The manager wanted to give me food that had been sitting for over 20 minutes. When I insisted on fresh food she got an attitude and refused to look and/or speak to me. She handed to food to an employee to give to me. When I asked another employee for the contact information for HQ, the employee did not know and asked Mama D. She told her I could go look it up myself. I have NEVER been treated that way in any dining establishment. I had been looking forward to Culver’s all day as we were visiting Carowinds and do not have a Culver’s locally. After the way I was treated I do not want to dine at ANY Culver’s Restaurant. Managers like that can ruin the reputation of restaurants/chains. I would advise anyone who asks NOT to dine at that Culver’s and especially not that location.

Really, bring back the chicken!!! I went to the Crystal Lake, IL store and got it when ever I had a taste for it. That taste was quite often…. That was the ONLY place in town that had GOOD chicken. I also miss the strawberry shot cake too. Whoever did this, needs to think it over it was not a very good idea. Oh, my 88 year old mom loved the chicken salad sandwich, she meets once a month with friends and they do lunch at Culver’s, she is just as disappointed as I am as well as many many more customers!!! Listen to your loyal customers!!!!!!!!!

Sept 27, 2016 at about 5.20 PM I called Culver’s in Zion, IL for an order of fried chicken. I was asked to hold “For a moment” 5 minutes later I was disconnected. I called back and was told my chicken will be “At the window when you get here.” It wasn’t then I was told there would be a “SHORT WAIT” of about 14 minutes. I had to ask twice what a “SHORT WAIT” would be. Needless to say I had to demand my money back and left after that.
I contacted them twice through “Contact Us” link and as of yet, Oct. 7, 2016, there has been no phone reply as I requested.
It would appear that they don’t care in the least about problems at their franchises
Full details as sent to Culver’s through their “Contact Us” link on the website attached below:
I attempted to order 8 pieces of chicken tonight starting at 5.20 PM on my phone log. Sandy answered and asked me to hold for a moment. 5 minutes later I was disconnected. I called back and Tremon (sp?) answered, I explained that it’s a problem when that happens and he said he would speak to her about it. I then asked for the manager and he said he was a manager and there was chicken ready and he would have for me at the window when I arrived. At 5.30 I got to the window and was told it would be ready in a minute. 5 minutes later Brandon came to the window and said there will be a SHORT WAIT. I asked how long that is and he said a short wait of 14 minutes. I then demanded my money back and Brandon decided to get a REAL manager because Tremon was too ashamed to come to the window like a man and apologize to me instead of making me wait for 5 minutes for Brandon to try his BS routine so I could get on with having dinner with my 88 year old mother. When Becky finally got to the window she started with Tremon didn’t tell anyone about my order and it was given to another customer who ordered after I did. Tremon could simply have bagged my order immediately but didn’t.
So by the time I get my money back it was 5.42. That means if someone had answered my first call at 5.20 I could have waited at home and gotten a fresh order of chicken but that was a bit too much for your staff to process.
It is now 6.26 so I have wasted about an hour being lied to and having to file this complaint.
Wendy’s was HAPPY to see me my mother not so much as I told her I was getting chicken from Culver’s.
I will also be at the door at 10 AM tomorrow to register my complaint in person with the GM.

I am so disappointed that you have discontinued your fried chicken. I have been getting your chicken dinners since you opened in Holland Michigan. We go usually once a week. Please bring the chicken back.
Amanda Stephens says
I’ve been a loyal customer since you guys opened in Holland, MI. My best friend and I always get your 2 piece chicken dinners and we specify both pieces to be breasts!! You guys had the BEST fried chicken in town!! Imagine our surprise when we called in an order (today (9-25-16) and were told that CORPORATE discontinued the fried chicken! You have the tenders left but it’s not the same!! Please bring your fried chicken back as it’s the best!! Thank you in advance for your consideration. Yes of course your custard is the best as well but one can not survive on just ice cream….

To Culver’s CEO: I am originally from Lake Mills, Wisconsin and have personally eaten at your #1 Culver’s Restaurant in Sauk City more times than I can count! You have a Truly
Great Restaurant Chain with Fantastic Food. I have now lived in Venice, Florida for over 7 years and am still waiting for our Culver’s Venice, FL Restaurant. Many many people from Wisconsin have retired here in Venice, FL & We want “Our Own Culver’s Restaurant” So please build one here! Yes! We can drive the 11 Miles up to the one on Hwy 41 in Sarasota! But! That is very inconvenient for many Senior to do! So! Please give us one of our own! Respectfully, George J Marshall-Venice, FL

In Merrillville, Indiana, you have the Worst crew by Far… I walked into your diner with 3 girls at 3 different registers that would not make Eye Contact with me…. I just stood there, thinking that maybe something was wrong….. No one wanted to wait on me….. Then when I asked a girl named Selena if she was open for business, she acted like I ” Imposed” on her!!! I was Shocked……. She also argued with me about a Sandwich she said didn’t exist…. It was right in front of her on her Register……I asked for a Value Basket for one, and was Charged for each individual thing I Ordered…. Nope, not going back….. Not one Welcome To Culvers, to be heard…. Won’t be back………….

The burgers you advertise look nothing like the burger you get served. the quality of the burgers you serve is poor very greasy and I just do not understand why you put all the condiments served on a burger on the bottom below the meat to me that is not appetizing we go to Culvers Less and less now the service in Hastings Minnesota is so bad it’s ridiculous. I’ve ordered a Deluxe burger with everything on it only to be told we do not have deluxe burgers? Yesterday I went thru the drive thru I was asked what I wanted I ordered to specific meals and a small shake only to be asked all you wanted was a shake. I asked the kid where were you when you took my order and got no response. Customer service and Quality of food is poor. now you tell me my email is invalid ? well I do not want to give you my business email and receive your marketing .
