While attending a very long conference and meeting, Anna Zornosa took a break to go to the ladies room and remove her extremely uncomfortable shapewear. Zornosa noticed that someone had thrown their shapewear in the trash. She decided that there had to be a better way to make shapewear that worked but was comfortable. In 2011, Zornosa founded Ruby Ribbon Shapewear.



The company makes shapewear for all sizes, with the specialty item being a camisole that doubles as a bra. The company claims that 90 percent of women who purchase from Ruby Ribbon return to purchase more and that same 90 percent refer a friend.

Before and after pictures can be found all over the web. The camisoles have a silicone backed lace feature which prevents them from rolling down, giving wearers a sleeker silhouette. Ruby Ribbon states that the camisole will fit any cup size, so there is no need to measure that area.

Ruby Ribbon also makes slips, half slips, a V-neck version of the camisole, and other support wear. The company sells its products via a direct sales model, with many sellers having house parties similar to Tupperware.

In January 2020. the company hired a new CEO, Clint McKinlay.

In August 2021, the company received the first-ever US patent for its top-selling Sport Demiette bra line.

Ruggable makes area rugs and pillow covers that can be washed in any home washing machine. The top “rug” portion can be easily removed from the recycled polyester non-slip backing.

Ruggable has a very large following on Instagram, with more than 380,000 followers who regularly post their rug mishaps and then the cleaning results after washing. The polyester rug cover has a polyurethane waterproof barrier sandwiched between the top surface, made from 100% woven polyester chenille, and the bottom surface, made of 100% polyester knit. The barrier blocks dirt, odor, and liquids from penetrating the cover’s bottom layer and the pad.

Knix is an all-female operated company that designs and creates underwear and bras for women of all sizes, all ages, and for certain needs. This “made by women for women” business plan has worked well for Griffiths.

Knix is sold at a few Canadian retailers and Griffiths hopes this will also be true in the USA, but items can always be purchased online.

Panties that have sanitary pads built into them and are washable have been a bit hit at Knix, with women clamoring for more of these enviro-friendly solutions.

The company raised $5.7 million in funding in November 2019.
