I was hired as a tutor and then told after I tutored one time I had to refer students at rate of $14 an hour to keep my job as a tutor. Also I had to agree to be an online tutor. I was not informed this was a requirement when I signed up. The person who hired me has the Vista franchise in Calif. He also encouraged us to upsell parents. I quit after the meeting. His tone was demeaning and bordered on threatening. I work at a high school all day and it is not legal for me to try and sell any tutoring program at a public school. He should know that as a franchisee. I contacted the parent I was tutoring and explained the situation she wondered why there was so much turnover in tutors. I’m telling because I have worked at Club Z several years ago and although the tutor pay may is lower it was a good experience. If someone is representing your company they should do it with professionalism and integrity. Thank you,Kathleen Sprinkle
