First off I would like to remain anonymous as when work out on locations people get nasty attitudes when they know you tried to correct things when your a peon. Anyway I came to a location this morning Murray 1-7H in Calumet Ok. and I was on the catwalk about to work my tank of oil when a black hair man from a black ford pickup came up and ask me to wait a min on working the oil so he could check the H2S levels. I stepped aside and I ask him ” if your checking H2S levels where is your H2S monitor?” He then looked at me and said well your wearing one Right? I was shocked. He then open the hatched and proceeded to check the H2S level. I was then met by the flow hand and noticed he didn’t have a H2S monitor either. No one was wear safety glasses either. My point is not to tell on someone but to simple point out if I came on location and didn’t perform my job completely there would be a phone to my boss. If we feel like ppl aren’t being safe do we have the right to say something?? In our meetings they say we can but when you get out here on locations that’s not how things work. Anyway kind regards to whoever is reading this and I hope to see safer locations on Cimarex other than drivers having to follow the rules.
Sincerely
Crude oil driver
