From the comments I have read, Captain D’s is in real trouble. The food is getting lousy and the staff are rude and discourteous. You can add the Milledgeville, Ga. location and me and my family to the list of no longer getting food from this resteraunt. Sounds to me that a CEO might need to go undercover and find out what’s really going on in these stores. Maybe starting from scratch would help. The “straw that broke” this camel’s back, was telling me they no longer gave senior citizen discounts. What a shame. Many senior Americans could be found eating there, NOT NOW.

I always like to start off with something positive so in keeping with that habit, the food at Captain D’s is very delicious and the prices are great. Unfortunately though, I recently I had an EXTREMELY unpleasant visit to your location in Riverdale Ga. This was my first time at this location and I’ve been scouting eateries in this area for craft services to feed crew during filming. The first shock was the wait time at the drive-thru. After 15 minutes we turned the car off and shockingly had to wait another 25-30 minutes before we finally got our meal. There were no patrons inside the establishment and only 3 cars (including mine) in the drive-thru. One customer actually got out of his car to approach the window to see what was going on. The biggest and most appalling shock came when we reached the window to receive our food. The cursing and foul language could be heard even before we reached the window. Once there, the onsite manager Brittany was in the midst of trying to de-escalate a situation that was happening in the back. She asked if we would like a complementary side and apologized for the long wait. We accepted but when she called out the order to the back, the cook, I’m assuming, responded very loudly with “I’m not giving them shit!” . She then fired off many other expletives that I don’t care to put in writing at this moment and she refused to prepare the complimentary side the manager requested for us. Sadly, I will NOT be choosing Captain D’s for craft services and would not recommend that any other production do so. I have never in all my dealings with the fast food industry encountered such horrible customer service! I do want to point out however that Brittany did her best to provide a positive customer service experience but sadly her co-workers did not feel they should provide the same level of service.
I do hope that some sort of action is taken at this location to remedy this abhorrent behavior. Your customers do not deserve this subpar treatment.

8/6/2021 sat in line at the Gallatin Pike location in Nashville. Arrived at the intercom at 7:34pm. No welcome to Capt D’s no nothing. Just hold on. Waited a few more minutes lady come on intercom just to say “we closed”. I said what? “She repeated herself and said we closed again.” I called Corp office and waiting on a Emil back or something. Sign in the drive thru said CLOSE AT 8PM.

This same location a few weeks ago I tried to order 3 piece dinner. But was told I would only get 2 pieces since they change fish. Sound stupid to me too

I am writing to make you aware of Captain D’s located in Union City, Ga. This location is the absolute worst! What happened to my husband and I tonight just takes the cake!! Once we got home and began to take our food out of the bag to eat, the most disgusting thing occurred! Not only did my corn look hideous, with a HUGE piece missing, but it was covered in debris, as if it fell onto the floor and was swooped up, bagged and handed to us as if nothing happened! Quite disgusting is an understatement!
Our stomachs turned upside down at the sight and the thought of what else may have happened to the food we just ordered. An entire meal for two had to be trashed. We could not trust eating this food, after what we just witnessed! I have photos I wish I could attach here. We would like a complete refund. Maybe someone from your corporate office should make an unknown visit to this location. This is not the first time we have received this type of service. Enough is enough, at this point.

Prior to COVID my husband and I would eat inside at the Captain D’s in Locust Grove at least 2x a week. Even though the dining room is closed, my husband and I still go inside to place the order to go because of Ms. Gina.
She is very friendly, and she is fast.
My husband and I have visited Captain D’s for the last 5 years when Ms.Gina is working and never had bad service. Thank you Ms.Gina for excellent service.

On December 28, 2020, I went to the Captain D’s at 2833 N. Monroe St., Tallahassee, FL like I’ve done so many times before and received the same treatment; the only reason I continue doing business with this company is because the food is really good. My evaluation of good customer service at a restaurant is: food, temperature, cost, time receiving my order and a pleasant staff. The time receiving my order and staff is downright nasty. The manager, who is a middle-age, Caucasian female has got to be the nastiest person I’ve ever might. She’s always angry and nasty with customers; I can’t remember a time when she was pleasant. When I pulled to the intercom, I was told to view the menu and someone would be with me in a minute. I pull up to the intercom at 6:10 p.m. and by 6:28 p.m., the same statement was repeated, “review the menu and I’ll be with you.” I was no longer willing to wait any longer, so I pulled around to the window to place my order. When I got to the window, the nasty, rude manager, ask me did I place an order. I told her no because I had been waiting at the intercom since 6:10 p.m. and would like to place my order now. Nasty manager told me that she would need me to drive back around, place my order by intercom and there was only two people on staff; herself and another. As an external customer, I have no interest in internal woes, so I asked her “how does what’s going on INSIDE your establishment, my business? She slammed the window in my face and left. Let me add that I was the only car in the line at that time. If an establishment is open to serve, there should be enough staff on board to serve the customer. Chick-fil-A’s customer service is awesome!!!! There’s always enough staff on board to serve their customers. From the time you get in line, place your order and receive your order, it may be 3 minutes. The order is going to be correct, down to the one jam I asked for, the food is going to be hot and their employees are going to say, “my pleasure.” That’s what I need, a business that sensitive to my eating needs. I’m sure, she’ll give her side of the matter, but it’s clear that she failed to provide good customer service because I’m writing this complaint. Pick a night at this restaurant and you’ll wait at least 20 minutes any night of the week; just horrible service. The location of the restaurant is located in a very busy part of town, yet, they have the least customers. There’s another Captain D’s on the other side of town (Orange Ave), exceptional customer service, kudos to management. Customers have a right to go anywhere and employees should stop acting like they are doing the customer a favor by being there. If she’s unhappy with her job, she should go back to school, educate herself and get a new job. She needs to stop acting like the customer is the problem.

This communication is to express what I experience at Captain D’s located in Locust Grove, Georgia. Please see the message I submitted on your website.
I placed an order for one of your meals today (9/9/2020) around 2:18 pm and was given the wrong meal. The lady that took my order told me I asked for what they gave me. To resolve the matter and return to work I ask for a refund and was told they could only do a refund by putting the amount back on my card. In turn I asked your representative if she could refund me in cash and if I could talk to a manager, she asked that I wait outside (due to COVID the inside was closed to the public). I waited outside from about 2:25 to 2:58 pm, I then called and asked the manager if she was coming to give me a refund. The manager, Porsche, told me “she will not give me a refund in cash, and I needed to get in line, she was not coming out”. I told her I had been waiting all that time outside and now she wanted me to wait in line and I needed to get to work. She was loud and very rude. Porsche never came out and never gave me a refund. Her attitude was horrible and hostile. I have never seen or heard another person in their workplace act or talk the way she did to me. She promoted a hostile environment for your company today and I think others should know about the manager that is at that location.

I am a customer who went through the drive thru at the Captain D’s two days in a row in Enterprise, AL. The person who took my order both days was named Ms. Sheryl. I was impressed with her tone of voice, kindness, and professionalism. Her customer service was superb which you don’t find often these days. When I called the manager, Ms. Edna, to compliment her, I found she was equally professional, well-spoken, and kind, leading me to believe she was well-trained by her manager. I would just like to let you know you have great leadership in this store and is well-deserving of any monetary awards. Not to mention the great food they distribute under the name of Captain D’s. Simply delicious! I will be going back regularly.

This is my second attempt to reach anyone who may care. I drove through the Captain Ds on Admiral in Tulsa, Ok. on May 3, 2019, where I ordered two of the Shrimp, Crab Cakes and Fish dinners. We were staying at a hotel near the airport and it was not until we were back in our room that we discovered how totally messed up our orders were! We had one box of just fish and hush puppies and one large box of fried okra ( which was quite good! Good, because it was the only thing I ate). We were charged for what we ordered but did not receive! Tried calling that location and no one answered the phone. Tried calling several times! Now when we drove through, we were the only people there and unless all of TSU went there after we left, they were not unnaturally busy! This is my second attempt to bring this to Corporates attention. I at least expected an acknowledgement of my initial complaint. Or is this the attitude to be expected from this company?

Sorry for what happened but now I am thinking I will never get a response since it has been more than a year. Clearly said I had a shellfish allergy and I looked before leaving the drive through (another state) and though the yeast roll was on top but when I reached my destination, it was a shrimp kabob instead contaminating all of my food. It would be so simple to give me a couple of gift certificates or replace my meals but I emailed so not certain if I reached corporate office. Yet, I keep getting surveys about my visit and I have not been back since because of no resolve and that was my most favorite seafood place! Shame!

Poor customer service at Fayetteville, Ga location. Attempted to order 3 different times and was interrupted by young girl talking to coworkers. The customer prior to me 1st order was wrong then waited at least 5 minutes for the same girl to hand him his order that was ready. She stood right next to his food and was talking to coworkers again not paying attention to the customer. This girll needs some basic training in customer service etiquette and overall training in manners when dealing with customers.

I order from the Captain D at 5316 Sunset Rd Charlotte, NC 28216. I order 1 fish and shrimp dinner with okra and corn and 1 fish and shrimp dinner with baked potatoe and okra. I went thru drive thru at 7:01 pm per my receipt. I waited at the the drive thru for 2-3 min and the cashier told me to park up front and they will bring my food to me. I waited 20 min and a guy gave me my food. I did not look at my meal since the guy said everything is in there. When I got home and I looked at my food the shrimps were missing from both meal. I called the store to speak with the manager to let him know that shrimp was missing from the meal. He ask me if my receipt said fish and shrimp and I said yes. He asked me to bring the food back in with my receipt. I told him that’s not possible since I’m already home. He then started to ask a lady if she remember someone ordering 2 fish and shrimp since there was no shrimp in her meal. I hear the lady say did she looked at her receipt and it said fish and shrimp. I said yes and the manager ask me again if the receipt show that. I then told him never mind since the manager and the cashier did not want to admit that they messed up my order. The manager was unprofessional and rude. I am looking at my receipt and it clearly say fish and shrimp. The receipt show it’s store# 205977. Chk 1153 dec 14’18 07:01pm.

Went to Captain D’s to order southern style fish dinner and got home and found out I had a salt and pepper fish dinner instead. I was upset and didn’t feel like going back out. The fish have been sitting there all day it was dried out and cold. I called the store and spoke to a mister Swan who told me if I could not bring it back the same night to hold on to it and bring it in tomorrow. I was upset about it so I took it back. I asked the cashier if the manager was in and he said no but mr swan is in. This man walked up and flirted with 2 woman who were waiting on sauce that he had in his hand. After he finished entertaining them he asked if he could help me. I showed him the food and told him that this is not what i offered and i would like my money back. He tells me it is what I ordered. I tell him look I’m unhappy can I just get my money back. He then says I’m trying to fix everything why are you getting an attitude. I never once had an attitude all I asked was for my money back because that was not what I ordered that it was not what was shown on the menu and I just wanted my money back. I had to leave my house to take the food back to the store where they acted as if I was in the wrong and then had to go to another restaurant to buy food so that I could have something to eat. I’m very disappointed in Captain D’s I don’t know who this mr Swan is but I was very disappointed in the way that he handled the whole situation. Then he gave me a bogus complaint phone number.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. Never again! Earlier today I had my husband pick up a seafood feast for my family from the Five Points West location, here in Birmingham, Alabama. After fixing everyone a plate my 18yr. old granddaughter comes to me with her plate telling me that her stuffed crab has a roach in it. I was dismissive, thinking that she was just being dramatic, as I know she can be. I so wish that had been the case! Upon looking at the thing it clearly had what appeared to be roach legs hanging out of the sides of the shell! I got a knife and dug it out. A roach, cooked roach, legs and all! I took several close up pictures, as well as video of this thing from different angles. I loaded up the food that I had purchased, along with the stuffed roach crab to return to the restaurant to make a complaint and get my money back!! There is no way I would want any part of that “food”! Get there and wait 10 minutes to be even recognized. That’s strange considering that no one else was standing there. Especially since I have part of a stuffed crab sticking on the knife on a paper plate with the roach cooked into it! When I finally asked to see a manager and waited for her to decide to come out of the back, her response was that I must not know that crabs have eyes! I don’t have time for ignorant people, so I left. I know that crab eye’s don’t have roach legs! I know how to contact the health department! I know how to contact an attorney! I know how to contact the Better Business Bureau! I also know how to contact the Attorney General’s office! And I will!!

Hello. Ive been in the resturant business for 10 plus years and can appreciate good food service. Its hard sometimes to please everyone but it isnt rocket science. Ive been eating at captian ds since i was a little girl and food love the food. On 3-27-17 i was in the drive thru ordering my food a couple minutes before 10pm. After i completed my order i drive forward to the pay/pick up window. There was a lady sitting behind me. Waiting to order and the cashier told her they were closed and didnt take her order. I was shocked because she waited to order and didnt get to. In my day we took care of all customers in line and never turned anyone away.
Then tonight on 3-28-17 i was the last car in line approached the speaker 2 or 3 minutes before 10. My husband and i sat there for 5 minutes and nobody took our order. My husband said hello to the speaker a few times still no response. We drove off and i was an upset customer/wife. These people were only concerned about 10 oclock and getting off work…which i cant blame them…but finish your job dont be lazy

Its not a matter of being lazy we have families that we want to get home to. Why wait so late to come tp the drive thru or maybe call ahead.

My family and I stopped at a local D’s (which I can say is my fathers favorite fast food seafood restaurant) on February 10, 2017 at store 3797 in Augusta Georgia. The store was busy not in my opinion not THAT busy. Our order (of 4 dinners) was accepted quickly. However, we had to wait about 20 minutes before our food arrived. With the delivery, we noted to the employee that we placed a “dine in not to go order” (our meals were bagged to go) were no utensils and were missing a dinner. We were informed that the last dinner was still working and utensils were on the way. After another 10 minutes, my father leaving his meal, went to inquire about both utensils and the missing dinner. A few minutes after, I went to check on the missing items and my father. I found out the missing dinner in question (which was an order of clams and four pieces of shrimp) was “working”. I inquired about and received missing utensils returned them to our table and continued to wait. Another 15 minutes or so later (nd my father not returning with the missing dinner yet), I went to inquire. Finding out that the missing “little meal” was just sitting on the back counter “waiting on some one to pick it up”. All in all we were in the facility almost a hour before we all had our respective dinners.
Being there were no apologies from the store employees or management, and at the point of finishing our dinner, the facility was quite busy so the decision was made not to interrupt the store manager with a complaint. On the receipt was the name and number of the “Area Director” which I called there in the parking lot. I received his voice mail (was not surprising since he should not know my name nor phone number), left him a brief and calm message requesting a call back due to a customer service issue. I am in the customer service field also and know taking care of your customers needs both large and small is a MUST and certainly a priority. I was not expecting a quick response (even though his contact information is there clearly in black and white) but after 2 days without a return message I was not too happy. There for I want to the website captainds.com and filed a complaint. Silly me, I was under the assumption that the web site would get a return response but to my despair……nothing. Contacting a company “Area director” and no response was bad enough but NO response for the company’s web site was the icing on the cake. I am no quite disappointed Captain D’s customer at this point.

My girlfriend went to the Captain D’s (store number 205853) at 8090 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32514 on 12/29/2016 at around 1600. She went their to get a gift card for $25 for my birthday. They happened to be out. When she asked when they would get some they said they didn’t know and that she could go to another store to get one. Then they turned their back to her and started their conversation back up with no regard to trying to find out when they would get more gift cards in. The store manager Joe Vandell was the one in back cooking and just stated “No, we don’t have any”. The entire staff from top to the floor crew were rude and disrespectful. The next day my girlfriend went to Wendy’s to get the $25 gift card. I guess this is the kind of personnel that Captain D’s recommends since the problem started from the store manager, not having any gift cards, and then not caring what his staff does. I am very upset and frustrated with this service she has received.

I purchased the seafood feast with broccoli and green beans. I have a family of 4 and was stopping to pick up dinner. When I got it home we realized the quality that we were expecting was NOT there! The shrimp were the size of dimes and nickels and VERY over cooked! The crab was uneatable and broken, i literally tossed it in the garbage. The fish was not fresh and rubbery… It has been well over a year since I have bought anything from Captain Ds because I simply isn’t a healthy choice. I recently visited your restaurant on Wrightsboro Rd. in Augusta, GA on July 29, 2016. My complaint from this visit was the service and food preparation. Upon entering, there were customers sitting and waiting for their food. After placing my order, I talked to a waiting customer who said they had been waiting for 30 minutes. I noticed the drive-thru line was backed up and the employees and cook were not being cordial to each other. There was loud talk back and forth. It took about 20 minutes to get food and when it was received, it was not hot even though I was told it had to be cooked fresh. I must say, this was my worst experience at any Captain D’s that I have visited. If I am in the area again, I will not be visiting that restaurant.
