Blaze Pizza was founded by Rick and Elise Wetzel in 2011. The name comes from the quick way that pizza’s are cooked; taking only 3 minutes on average.
Customers order similar to the way Subway sandwich shops work, with customers choosing their toppings as they walk down the service line, then picking up their pizza at the end. The Blaze ovens are 7 foot-wide gas-fired units that operate at average temperatures of 700 °F (371 °C) to 800 °F (427 °C). Since the high-temperature gas-fired pizza oven is the only piece of cooking equipment inside each of the restaurants, the same oven is also used to roast the chicken, cook the Italian sausage and meatballs, and bake some of the desserts.
In 2016, the company signed agreements which allowed them to operate locations inside buildings, such as college campus’ or airport terminals.
In 2017, the company posted earnings of $279 million, a 51% increase over the previous year, causing concern among bigger pizza operations, such as Dominoe’s.
Blaze Pizza went international in 2015, opening locations in Canada, and then in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in 2018.
Headquarters for Blaze Pizza is located in Pasadena, California.

Hello,
My name is Scott McNett, and I love your pizza. I was extended a 35% off a $20. order. I was excited even though I never spend more than $20. per order. I decided to order over $20. dollars for the discount. the pizza was awesome, and I am still eating the leftovers. when I went to p/u my order, they told me they couldn’t extend the discount as it was an internet order and I needed to apply for the discount when I placed the order. I tried to find the link, and wasn’t able. I am writing to you to please give me the 35% off my order of $28. dollars… thank you very much….. Scott.

I own a business across from your Palm Springs location. I have been a customer and have promoted your business to many of my customers, but that ended when both your staff and manager at that location denied access to your restroom.
The manager of the store next door to me could not open her store door, and called and was waiting for a locksmith. She had been waiting for a long time and It was extremely hot outside.Needing the restroom, and being unable to enter her store, she went across the road to your business, a restaurant she had ordered from many dozens of times, and was told she had to order something before given the code..
Being a business owner myself, I understand rules, and why they are in place, as did she, but thought, given the circumstances, surely an exception would be made, so asked to speak to the manager, who made the managerial decision of telling a neighbouring business, and customer, who was locked out of she business, in need of the restroom that the only way she could use your restroom was if she bought something.
I find it incredulous that an exception would not gladly be made under those circumstances.
With all the problems in the world a little kindness goes a long way, and if keeping customers are of concern I find the handling of that situation unbelievable.
The reason I am taking the time to write this, is if that were my business I would want to know when bad decisions were being made that cost my company sales and bad P.R.
Yours sincerely,
M.R.Citroen

Your management sucks. Store is always dirty. Employees always standing around on their phones talking to each other while guests are in line.

We ordered 3 personal size pizzas tonight from the Blaze Pizza in Garner, NC. We picked them up using curbside service (nice service to have, by the way). But when we got home, we found that one of the three pizzas was almost “blank.” The worst thing was that there was NO sauce on it. Sauce is what makes a pizza. It was also missing the parmesan cheese I had ordered, and only one slice had any feta cheese (the third type of cheese I had ordered). Most slices did have a decent amount of fresh mozzarella cheese, though. The basil was missing completely, the spinach was mostly burned up, and there was a scant amount of mushrooms and red onions (tiny pieces) in a few places on the pizza.
I took pictures of the pizza and the label, which showed the items that I had ordered (that is, it listed what was supposed to have been on the pizza). But I don’t see any way to send you those pictures.
In the end, my dinner consisted of a few pieces of thin, somewhat under-cooked pizza dough with a little bit of fresh mozzarella cheese on it along with tiny amounts of some vegetables that appeared to be accidentally dropped here and there.
So disappointing. That was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Our experiences with this Blaze location have been varied in the past, and with this, I’m not sure I can give this store any more chances. It’s sad, because our family really likes these pizzas when they’re done right.
Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to reach a store manager to explain what happened and ask what can be done about it. The store is too busy to take calls most of the time.
Maybe you should build a new Blaze location a little farther east of this one (in Clayton, NC). That could alleviate the overcrowded scene that’s always at this store. That might improve the quality and the service.
I think at the very least we should get a refund for all 3 of our pizzas because our entire meal experience was ruined by this.

I had visited your Schaumburg location. I had the promotion for Pi day. When I came home and opened the box I noticed the crust was all burnt, and my fingers we’re all black. That just made for a very unpleasant experience, and that just ruined the whole meal. I can’t recall ever experiencing that happening before. Very disappointed in the pizza and just wanted to share my comments.

I worked at a Blaze Pizza in Asheville NC on tunnel rd and the GM is a man named Kyle. He allows employees to come and go as he pleases, lies about raises, lies about hours, allows other employees to smoke weed on their breaks. The AGMs are also incompetent one smokes a cigarette every 10 minutes and spends a lot of time just on his phone looking at memes while the other one has clearly never managed anything in his life. The whole place is crazy. We have guest constantly complaining about service, time, food quality, and attitudes of employees. The place is sad and not a fun experience. When I was finally done after being lied to about a raise and more hours for MONTHS i tried to put in a two weeks and was fired kn the spot. Saying “I volunteered to be fired because I put in my two weeks and to pick up my check Friday and goodbye “

Bad experiences almost every time I’ve gone in the last 6 months. My pizzas are always overcooked, incomplete, or not ready. I’m done with trying rationalize that it’s just my bad luck. Blaze Pizza provides crappy food that is only surpassed in crappiness by its crappy service. For example, I’ve ordered two identical pizzas in the same order and have received two different pies. I email complaints and am offered a free dessert for my bad experience…. right after I get an email for a promotional free dessert. So, I’m basically being offered something that they are giving everyone for free. What a sincere apology! Today, my online order was for a large pepperoni and a large “Green Stripe” pizza… $8.95 & $15.95, respectively. Go to pick them up and the green stripe has been completely overlooked. No apology. A worker walks over at a snail’s pace to begin constructing my pizza. I tell them not to bother and that I don’t have time for them to make and bake, and ask for a refund. It’s around 1:30pm. No one can issue a refund until 4pm. A few hours later I get an email that I got a partial refund. However, I got a 50%-off-the-total refund. So I’m basically paying $14 and some change for the $9 pepperoni pizza. I call and speak to the manager who says he is only afforded the choice of giving me a 50% or 100% refund. I told him that their location was terrible in all aspects and that he will not be receiving my business in the future, even if he fixes the refund issue. I told him, I know you have no incentive to give me the 100% refund now that you know I won’t being coming back, ever, but that the right thing to do would be to give me the full refund. To his credit, he did give me the full refund. One last experience worth mentioning that I found odd happened during the one time I did NOT order on the app/online, that getting a large size pizza wasn’t available on the walk-in menu. I literally had to make an order on my phone while standing in the restaurant! Maybe it’s me, but this is annoying and also bad customer service. Imagine going to McDonalds and being told you can’t order a large Coke, only a small Coke. But, you can get on the app and order a large Coke and then they will hand you the large cup.

Went to my local location and ordered but when I tried to pay with my gift cards I was told they weren’t showing up on the register computer. I had to pay cash. Hummm weird. I went home to log on to the website and see what it tells me. Hummm, the gift card numbers aren’t even registering. Weird again. Trying to call corporate. Their recording says it’s fastest to go online and leave a message.

I’m still waiting on my first check. It’s been three months! I’ve been repeatedly lied to by your manager at the Amherst Ny location in Niagara Ny. She said that a new check had been printed and mailed to my current address in Mi. And your payroll staff has also ignored my request. I’m filing my paperwork with Department of wage and labour today. This is the most unorganized company that I’ve ever worked for.

Went to blaze pizza on magnolia in Riverside yesterday. Ordered to go when I got home pizza was totally burnt my mom did nor want to eat it ad it tasted bitter. Her being a diabetic I have to feed her at certain hours. It was impossible to get a hold of anybody yesterday at the restaurant. No one would answer and when they did it just hung the phone. Worst customer service ever. This morning can’t even get ahold of anyone in corporate or anywhere. This is ridiculous-? I don’t understand why they would serve the burnt pizza to a customer. So frustrating to get home and have pizza you can’t eat. Had to feed my mom something else very frustrating.

We have enjoyed eating Blaze Pizza about 2 times a week, since it came to our city of Viera, Fl.
Went there yesterday Sept 16, had a very bad experience. There was a couple on the patio with a large dog. Your waitress picked up the dogs water bowl carried it around with her for a few minutes then she proceeded to take the bowl and fill it with water (hopefully not the same place I got my water from) When I questioned her about filling the water bowl, she said she got the water from a spigot in back. I told her she should have brought a cup of water outside and put in the dogs bowl, she just looked at me and I repeated my concern to her and she walked away. I am 100% certain this is not SANITARY as a customer I should not have to worry about having dog drool and slobber on my food or my water. I will not ever eat at Blaze Pizza again I don’t like eating with the dogs.
I spoke with a lady that I think is a manager . Your employees need to be retrained on health/sanitary conditions.Thank you for reading and responding to my email.

Hello, I made a purchase online through the use of a Personal Computer. The total for the order was $24.78. When I went to pick up my pizza’s at BLAZE PIZZA CLOVIS 1840 Herndon Blvd Bldg. B Ste. C, Clovis, CA 93611, a receipt was not given to me for my purchase. I could not scan or enter the bar code manually that is found on the receipt. I talked to the manager the following day and was given an excuse for the next two days why I could not get a receipt that has the bar code on it. Please provide a receipt during pick up of the pizzas so your customers can utilize the rewards program and enter it when they get home. I do not think this is too much to ask for. Please respond. I feel cheated out of the rewards program if someone orders pizza online using a personal computer. Thank you, John Susoeff

You should strongly consider adding a warming feature to your customer pick up rack! As thin as your crust is, there’s no way it will stay hot while sitting on an open rack surrounded by air-conditioning. When our pizza sat there without being under warming lights and grew cold, it was not very appealing once we got home to eat it. After my 2nd visit to your restaurant, I’m still surprised by how thin your pizzas are. Is the crust made from a particular type of dough which requires that to cook properly? They have been burnt both times I’ve been to your store. It doesn’t seem like your customers are getting much food other than crust for the prices you charge. Also, the locations I have visited had nothing to do with this experience. They prepared our food in accordance with your franchise requirements. Just some things to consider to improve your product and customer experience. Thank you.

Very disappointed with Blaze Pizza. I really enjoy the pizza; however, their reward program is outrageous. I had 180 flames; however, when I went to use the flames I was not afforded the right to redeem them.
I went back another time to Blaze Pizza. This time when I went back my points were gone. I received not even a sliver of cheese for my 180 flames.
The pizza is tasty but expensive. The staff aren’t the good.
I have tried to contact Blaze Pizza on multiple occasions and the local nor corporate headquarters have responded. That’s OK! I will be happy to spend my dollars elsewhere..

I have loved going to blaze over the last several years. My blaze habit is usually three times a week. The customer service was always great. Untill recently. Lately I feel as if I’m being rushed thru my order. In addition my pizza comes out burnt and inedible. I’m not sure why the customer service experience has declined in the last few months. But it has and has made my husband and I not want to go anymore.

We order Blaze fairy frequently. Most of the time the management is very pleasant. Today was different! We always ask for our pizza “blonde” meaning not burnt. We asked this because of past experience when our pizzas have been way overcooked. Tonight when we ordered it blonde we were asked after about one minute if the pizzas were cooked enough for us. We replied “no, but almost there”. The manager then walked away rather than watch the pizzas that were in the oven. By the time she came back they were burnt. She then told us it was our fault they were burnt because we didn’t take them when they were raw. When we said we didn’t want the burnt pizza she reluctantly agreed to make us new pizzas. However, the entire time she was obviously angry and giving us nasty looks and not re-making them to our liking. This is sad as we are there probably twice a week and constantly watch the burnt pizzas leaving the oven.
I think this could be easily fixed if there were one person responsible for watching the pizza in the oven and not be constantly walking away, ringing up sales, making boxes, slicing pizza and putting them in boxes. JUST WATCH THE PIZZA!!!
