This past Friday July 9th, 2021 I went to the Big 5 in Medford, Oregon to purchase a camp chef stove. It was 3:30 pm and as I was entering the doors I was confronted by a larger older gentleman in a dress shirt, and tie. He told me they were closed for a half hour so everyone could go to lunch. It was very inconvenient for me and I drove away a little mad. I’ve never seen a company close for lunch in the middle of the day. I purchased the stove at a competitor and paid more money for it. I assume you would want to know about the loss of business. Someone needs to learn how to schedule.

Staff at the Ukiah California store inadequate, I had a terrible experience there today and will not go back. I noticed I was the only customer in the store and am not surprised. Was told the delivery truck was late and one of the sales person had been up since 2 am in a kind of explanation of their rudeness , yet they were in a huddle doing nothing when I entered.

is a nightmare. You can never keep a Manager at this location. The staff acts like they are doing you a favor by helping you. I went today to buy women athletic shoes.
First there was one sales representative. More customers came into the shoe department, as we were simply handed a shoe box of only one choice of shoe, and I think Aliens abducted all three sales staff. I was so upset I almost walked out. Several of us tried to find help. Then three of them came at once. Your Tampa street Big 5 in
Reseda, has very friendly staff who are smart enough to stay near you in the event you need another shoe.
Also, the layout in this Van Nuys store stinks, why do you have jackets by the front entrance, that makes your store seems smaller? Put then to the side. This store is not my favorite, but close to home. Please take time to consider this nightmare!

BEWARE!! If you are interested in purchasing any brand new fresh out of the box firearm at big 5, think again! YOU will receive the display models that have been previously handled, cycled, and dry fired by indecisive customers!! and the worst thing is, they “big 5” won’t tell you the truth behind it! I will from first hand experience. I went to the Buena park store on 1/20/17 to purchase what I thought was a brand new escort mp tacstock 2 semiauto shotgun for a total of $507.70 I was helped by Robert benedict. He showed me the display model then put it BACK on the rack behind him. After my (10) day wait, I got the gun home and noticed some of the blue finish was rubbed off the front left blade that protects the sight. That can only occur when a firearm is being grabbed numerous times from the rifle rack and put back. As you see rifles have a tendency to rub against each other especially on the tips of the barrel when they are leaning. I also found evidence of INTERNAL ware from customers working the action and pulling the trigger which can destroy the firing pin mechanism if a round is not chambered. I looked on the end of the gun box and found a very small sticker on the upper right hand corner that read: “display 2017” this really, really, angered me!! I was shown a display model then sold a display model!! you people had me believing this was a new purchase!! If I would have known, I wouldn’t be writing to you. A very underhanded thing to do to your die hard customers like myself. this should be a crime!! or maybe it is! I will have to research this practice much deeper. I will certainly inform all of my NRA brothers to NEVER purchase a thing from the sneaky deceptive associates at big 5.

My experience with Big 5 Sporting Goods has been actually the pits I received the phone call today from your corporate office and the operator or the reception is as what she called herself again was so inconsiderate Jackie called me left me a message to return the call I tried to return the call the reception is transferred me and said I could leave a message there was no message machine so I hung up the phone and call back she goes sir I’m just a receptionist here there at lunch what do you want me to do oh my God what the hell is wrong with these people. I work for a small non profit run by a wonderful man who is 79 years old. this man who takes the homeless and people who have problems and takes them off the street, gives them a good place to live and puts them to work.
We all work hard taking condemned properties rehab them by hard work, making them fit to live and helping people with no hope giving them dignity a job a home restoring them to feel self worth and hope..

My wonderful boss, bought a pair of water proof shoes for me and also for him.at Big 5
..I was embarrased to let him know they didnt last 3 to 4 months, I finally told him and he told me his feet were totally soaked just like my feet were.
I called the Big 5 store in Marysville, wa 98270 and talked to a manager explained this to him…
He refused to make this Right!!!
I am very disappointed in Big 5 the way this was handled having always been a customer and the brash and rudeness I will find another popular sporting goods store if this doesn’t get the right customer service response . This will be my last and final attempt to contact corporate to right this wrong. I have a large family in sports and law enforcement word will spread and keep spreading and public service they will never buy there again…
