I purchased a bed headboard with base and frame that was supposed to be in the warehouse on August 26, 2023. I also purchased a large area rug was supposed to be available in stock with a pad and two smaller rugs. Everything was to be delivered to once the rugs arrived. This is September 21 and I continue to get the run a round regarding where the rugs are and why the managers at the store in Oklahoma City cannot get answers from the warehouse regarding my furniture and rugs. The managers told me yesterday they could not even get anyone to answer at the warehouse or get in contact with the regional manager. When I have talked with managers at the store they have told me they would check on this and call me right back, that day, but I did not get a call back. I would have to call again another day. This has happened several times. I tried to contact your corporate office, but I get referred to the Oklahoma regional number that is on a different time zone that your corporate office and not open. When I called yesterday I could not talk with anyone because it the office was closed due to the time zone for the corporate office.
IF people CANNOT GET FURNITURE they order or pay for, the BASSETT store in OKC should CLOSE!!! I was told yesterday that there are 17 CUSTOMERS that have called with complaints regarding furniture delivery. There is a MAJOR PROBLEM with the OKC store operations!

Good afternoon Ms Holt
I’m following up on your email. I do appreciate you responding and laying out the timeline.
When I first read this it made me even more upset that this was being told to me again vs assuring me that this was in error and we are moving forward to get this expedited as fast as possible..
Today when I read it , it still makes me very upset that – “I” have to follow up with to get a status. As the customer, I was hoping that you would be the one keeping me updated on the progression on my cushion. This was your error not mine. I paid as required and in full before delivery but I am the one who is suffering from this error not your company. You have my funds and and me stuck waiting and following up with you.
This is absolutely not what I expected when I decided to deal with Bassett vs the other stores. I sincerely question these statements.

I did an order for a dining table and many other items (sale order # 2006080008). The dining table delivered with a lot of damage on the table board, the technician came to my house and he said it is not repairable and should be replaced completely. I walked to the store in Dublin, CA to ask to change the tabletop color since we are going to redo it. The store said it might cost me money to do so. Could you please help to solve this issue! I’m sure Bassett is looking for customer satisfaction.

The place in Newton NC that even makes the product treats their employees so badly and when my husband was wrongfully terminated from there he called corporate and they didn’t do anything at all. If you basically wasn’t a butt kisser putting it politely you was treated like a nobody and they tried everything to get you to quit or they would pin anything on you to fire you. He would miss occasionally but always had a Drs note if he was out but then when the day came and he was let go none of his notes were ever turned in. The main woman said their was nothing he could do to save his job now when he said he had copied everyone of them and had them. Please tell me how in the world this was just and fair?

With the help of the Interior Decorators we are currently using who recommended Bassett Furniture,(the store located in Woodland Hills, Ca.). we bought a sectional sofa from Bassett about 16 months ago. Since that time we have had nothing but aggravation working with the Store Manager and Customer Service Representative. Our Decorators noted by measuring the middle part of the sofa and found that the measurements were not even. The center cushion always has wrinkles and we flip it almost every day. It does not help. The sofa was taken by Bassett to their work room supposedly to realign the frame. Additionally, the middle cushion has been replaced approximately four times. The most recent response from the Customer Service Manager, dated November 26, 2019, is that there is nothing wrong with our sofa and it’s appearance is normal. We did not spend $4,500 on a sofa only to find that we are totally dissatisfied with the service and sofa. We have told many people about our experience and will continue to do so. Additionally, we add that they should not do business with Bassett. We are likely to go to Small Claims Court as we see no other way to get satisfaction.

Oh my goodness! I heard the quality of their furniture wasn’t good. I putt down 1050 on a deposit for a couch but they said I couldn’t get my money back. I’m going to try calling corporate and customer service about it. I hope they give my money back because I’m not trying to spend a total of 3,000 for a bad quality sofa ! Thanks for sharing your story

Had a custom sectional delivered last Friday, but the delivery guys dropped one of the frames on the top back corner onto the ceramic tiles right in front of us! Everyone gasped and they apologized profusely BUT I don’t think I should be expected to pay full price on this piece since watching it crash to the ground. Nor, do I think the delivery charge should still be charged to me! What I expect is really a new piece to replace the one that was dropped or at least a 10% discount since we hadn’t even taken ownership yet and it’s been dropped!
This is our second sectional purchase with Bassett and had much greater expectations for follow up with such a high end store.

Did you call corporate ? Do you think that would help? I’m curious how they handle these complaints

Ordered the Tabago bedroom set in pepper gray (9 drawer dresser, tall chest, headboard and 2 nightstands) on July 5th.
Pieces delivered but noticed damage on the dresser and finishes looked off between dresser and chest. No call from customer service after delivery sent them information about the damage. Send pics to Frisco TX store. Amanda says lets reorder the 9 drawer dresser. She said she went to the warehouse and it looks like pepper gray. Delivery is scheduled where the warehouse tells me they never mess up a second time.
New dresser delivered Aug 30 but before they bring it in I asked to see the finish. The finish is the exact same that I have. The delivery man took picks of all because he says none of the pieces match including the nightstands. Get snarky email about how trees are different the following Monday. Emailed Amanda and sales rep Emma with no response.
Call Wednesday where Brittany tells me that it looks like the dresser is in another finish called lemongrass. Puts in ticket to approve exchange for dresser and nightstands. Says she will call me tomorrow.
No call, call Thursday afternoon and says exchange is not approved yet…. oh wait, he then sees it’s approved but doesn’t see anything about nightstands. Told him I wanted a call Friday. The warehouse obviously has an issue with getting the right product or its mislabeled and don’t care to check it before delivery.
Friday at 445, ask for a manager. He said he was too busy to call me. Doesn’t mention nightstands. Aaron tells me he will call me Saturday…. still no call.
This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever encountered and I manage customer service teams for living.
I expect someone to contact me about this experience

I purchased a couch from the above named Bassett store. It arrived at 7:30 on Thursday July 18, 2019. I didn’t like the couch at all. It was a special order. It does say at the bottom of the sales ‘no refunds’’. We asked if there was any possibility of returning the couch. The sales person we bought the couch from said just return it quickly so that the couch could be inspected. We tried to do that. No one there would schedule a pickup date. The salesperson the next day (or very same day) as a representative of your store informed us that there was no refund but we could get a credit if the couch was returned quickly. Again we could not schedule a pickup date.
Next we were told by this same person we could return the couch but we’d have to buy anotger couch. The question begs itself if if I were to find another couch for say $900.00 less does the store keep the difference?
I will try to get a pickup date again today. A store credit was at first offered without conditions as to what I could purchase. I planned to buy tables, chairs, accessories.
The Bassett store in Paramus keeps changing their agreement. They will not schedule a pickup. If there is any integrity in that store I can’t find it.
Please don’t send me a form letter reply as to what ‘no return’ means. I have already checked what happens if person who stands as a representative of your store offers me a store credit. They , as your representative, have to honor that offer.
I expect you to take this matter seriously. Especially if it is a store policy to run the credit return clock out so that what was offered doesn’t need to be honored.
I expected more integrity from your company. Was I wrong?

Hey! Thanks for sharing ! This is the location where I put the deposit down on my couch and I am def cancelling the order and getting my money back ! You’re not expecting too much from what I read. I thought it was just me but the sales people were snippy via email when I was inquiring about what my delivery date could be. I’ve had better customer service at blimpies ! This is supposed to be a high end furniture store but either way they should have better customer service.

We are hoping to resolve an ongoing issue with the quality of the furniture we ordered almost 3 months ago. A sectional, wool rug, and two chairs were delivered; all damaged. The sectional was dirty with handprints and poorly crafted. Seams do not match, the fabric is puckered and there are gaps where the sectional is connected in the back. The rug was delivered with several black stains on it and makes the whole house smell like a barnyard. One of the chairs was deliverd damaged with a slit through the fabric on the arm. Neither is finished on the underside. The fabric is droopy and doesn’t hold its shape.
We returned the chairs today but refused the rug they sent to replace it. It did not look new and smelled even worse than the stained one they originally delivered.
The store manager refuses to compensate us for anything but the chairs and is very difficult to work with. He hung up on my husband this morning when the delivery team was here to pick up the chairs. We were frustrated that after such a long wait, the replacement rug was more offensive than the original. The manager (Steve) was frustrated and angry at us for not accepting poor quality and offensive smelling products for which we paid a premium to avoid such a situation.
We are at an impasse and have no recourse but to file a complaint with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services through the office of the Attorney General in the Department of Justice State of California against Bassett Furniture in San Marcos, CA.
Before he hung up on my husband, Steve told him to “SUE US.”
That is the last recourse but we are getting there fast. Steve is the problem. Our experience with the sales team and designers was great but buyer beware. Once the store collected our payment of $11,345,72, the nightmare began and we are stuck with defective furniture, damaged goods, and an offensive stench (rug).

Hello!
I purchased a Bassett sectional from a retailer in Illinois. It was delivered on 2/10/19. By 2/27/19, I called the retailer to let them know the stitching in the back of one of the cushions was coming apart from the frame. About 1-2 weeks later, the portion needing to be fixed was picked up for repair. After 1-3 week, the ‘repaired’ portion was returned (‘repaired’, because it doesn’t look like it is going to hold up for very long).
Fast forward to 6/2/19… I am siting in the angled section and pull myself up to get more comfortable when I hear a small ‘pop’. Upon inspection, I find another cushion has had the stitching break, pulling the cushion away from the frame. Not happy at this point and beginning to question the quality of the sectional that has been in my house less than four months.
The following day, I call the retailer, Good’s Furniture in Illinois. The basic gist of the conversation was I am using my sofa incorrectly, that any undue pressure would cause the stitching to break. I didn’t realize sitting would be “undue pressure”. I was informed the manufacturer would tell me the same. If that is the case, it should be written, ‘display only, do not touch’. To my knowledge, there have been no sumo wrestlers doing battle on my furniture, so use is normal and expected.
Of course, I still have warranty, so they will ‘fix’ it. However, I don’t see the point. The first ‘fix’ will probably not hold, why would I have faith in the second fix.
I contacted Bassett by phone on 6/4/19 and talked to a very friendly representative who was very patient while listening to my experience. She did let me know I would have to deal with the retailer because I am still under the one year warranty. What does that mean on day 366? Will I be told, “ It is normal wear and tear.”? Either way, I have little faith in this product and will grow to resent it in a short period of time. In the future, I am better off spending less money. That way I won’t be angry when something happens; I can just replace it. I will still come out ahead replacing it every few years.
When I chose the sectional, I was pleased to find it was a Bassett. I recognized the name as one of quality. Perhaps, that is a reputation of days gone by.

Amen Carol-I owned a Bassett sofa that lasted over 20 yrs and it was of the best quality so I went back to Bassett to purchase another sofa. OMG what a disappointment!! Quality is horrible and fabric has flaws and the back squeaks worse than the floors in my 80 yr old home. A tech was supposed to come today to look at it and low and behold after waiting all day he texts me his truck broke down. I just want this piece of crap out of my house and a refund-oh wait no refunds on custom made stuff. What a laugh

Hi,
I purchased an accent chair 4.5 years ago and the seat is now threadbare. There are holes in the seat and when I called for customer support I was told “normal wear and tear is not covered after 1 year”.
The fabric does not seem to be upholstery grade fabric and now is discontinued from the store. I was told that I could pick and pay for the reupholstery of the chair at my own cost.
It would seem to me that a chair that cost $979 would last me a lifetime or at LEAST 10 years. This is a chair that people sit on. I am not sure why Bassett doesn’t stand by their product.
I will never purchase another item from this store as this now leaves me with having to purchase a chair from a reliable brand like Ethan Allen or Crate and Barrel. FYI – I have a Crate and Barrel couch that my kids LIVE on and I don’t have any defects on that couch even after 14 years.

I placed an $8000.00 order in early Oct 2017. Furniture delivered Thanksgiving week. I started contacting the Raleigh NC office before Christmas complaining that both my loveseat and sofa was “peeling.” The only response I have received is “Yes, that can happen and here’s a link to the shaver we use at the store.” WHAT?!? If they HAVE to use “shavers,” they store knows their furniture is crap! I have new furniture that I have to shave. I even bought the extended fabric warranty. I’ve emailed 3 or 4 more times with no further response other than “ The fabric warranty doesn’t cover “peeling.” I can’t believe the treatment I have received!

I’m getting a bit upset with the quality of manufacturing of my Bassett furniture purchased; which I have only had in my possession for 20 days; and after waiting 8 weeks for delivery. Today was sitting on sofa and noticed what I thought was just lint on the front facing of the loveseat- when I looked closer was obvious the material is fraying and pulling apart.. also saw a staple at the front base of the frame coming thru the fabric. This is my 3rd call to Bassett Customer Service due to defects- already have two cushion cover replacements on order for the love seat and sofa due to fraying of material. At this point believe Bassett should send replacements immediately; a $5700 furniture purchase should never have these quality control issues …these are NEW not seconds !!! Any defects in the product should have been caught by Bassett prior to delivery … The Bassett company mission statement obviously doesn’t apply to my furniture- one huge fail..
– Quality you’ll appreciate
– Crafted with care
– …more than 100 years of perfecting the art of crafting furniture…
Expect an immediate reply from Bassett.

We received our long awaited Bassett living room furniture this week, sofa and love seat. We paid an up charge for firm cushions. The furniture looks like over stuffed junk. The cushions are firm but the cushion covers are too small to fit the foam or the foam is too big to fit the cushions, don’t know which it is. We went back to Becker Furniture World to complain and noticed that all the furniture looks like ours. So it doesn’t matter if you buy cheap furniture or expensive furniture, it all looks cheap now. No quality control or pride in workmanship these days.

Dear Mr. Cohenour; I applied to your company approximately 6 weeks ago, and haven’t heard a thing. My name is Kenneth Dombrosky. I applied on line for a Design Consultant/Sales position for your Kennesaw, Ga. Showroom. I recently worked for Thomasville Furniture, which was located right next door to your store in Kennesaw. I am 68 years old. I was the biggest writer of business in the southeastern region for Thomasville for 4 months in a row, considering that I was only with them for 6 months. I am SO qualified for your open position. The last sale that I wrote was 125,000.00 with one client alone. I built up a phenomenal clientele in the short time that I was there. I’m extremely outgoing, a real people person. The hours don’t bother me. I used to be the first one in every day, and the last one to leave. I never called in sick, and I always brought in bagels for our Saturday morning meetings. I have been in the home fashions industry my entire life. I graduated from Interior Design school in 1972, with an Associates Degree. I’m hoping that my age isn’t the problem here. I’m a young 68, very hard working, and eager to always learn new techniques. I’m sure you don’t have the time to read this, but maybe you have an assistant that can, and can possibly answer me back. I truly need a job, and I can’t think of a better company to work for than Bassett.
Thank you,
Kenneth Dombrosky
