Aurelio’s Pizza was founded in 1959 in Homewood, Illinois, by James Aurelio. The company was one of the first to make what is now the infamous thin crust, Chicago-style pizza.
Franchising began in 1974. Today, the company has 3 corporate-owned locations and 37 franchised locations. The company is still owned and operated by the Aurelio family. Nieces and nephews of James opened their own pizza franchise, called Larry A’s Pizza.
The company is best known for its thin-style pizza, as well as Calabrese, known to most people as calzones. While the company does offer deep dish pizza, it is the thin crust that is their biggest seller and claim to fame.

The las vegas aurelio’s on Graig and Jones has the worst customer service. After getting my order wrong I returned for a store credit or a refund. It’s been five days and I haven’t received neither one. I’ve eaten aurelio’s pizza for 35 years the food has always been excellent. I won’t let this location keep me from enjoying what I love.

We have been enjoying your pizza for years in Naperville, Downers Grove, and Plainfield. We had our hearts set on a delicious large thin crust sausage and mushroom pizza yesterday and were going to be in the Geneva area. We saw that you had a location there and excitedly stopped in for an early supper.
What a disappointment! The pizza tasted nothing at all like your other locations. The crust had no flavor. The sauce tasted bland. The pizza was absolutely coated in a ton of mushrooms, with little cheese or sausage.
My wife struggles with agoraphobia and OCD. It is an incredible struggle for her to leave the house. We were very disappointed in the quality of the pizza. When the waitress asked how we liked the food, my wife was very upset and near tears. My wife explained that we were unhappy with the food and that she has OCD and was not happy that the pizza was not like at other locations. She stood there and just stared at my wife.
I asked her to give us a few minutes. My wife began crying and again said we were unhappy. She just stood there staring at my wife. I asked more forcefully if she would give us some space. The waitress left the table. We expected that either she or a manager would return, as my wife was now in tears. No one came.
My wife said that she hated the pizza, but still wanted “Aurelios”. She did not know what to do. I told her we were leaving. I asked another waitress to get us the check, as we had a couple of beverages. After several minutes, I told my wife to wait in the car. When our waitress showed up, she asked if we wanted the pizza wrapped. I told her we did not, as we did not like the pizza. I just wanted the check.
The waitress produced the check. There was no offer to speak with a manager, no offer to reduce the bill, not even an apology to us, considering we mentioned several times that we were very displeased. I did not want to leave my wife alone in the car, so I paid the bill and left.
I drove my wife to your Naperville location. We had a delicious pizza and were served by a very attentive and courteous staff. Unfortunately, my wife is still very upset and now feels humiliated by the reaction of the waitress. We both feel our concerns should have been addressed by a manager and some kind of discount offered. A large thin crust pizza with one beer and a couple of diet cokes ended up costing us about $80 before tip, plus an extra 15 miles of driving on top of the 35 miles we drove to get to Geneva.

Ordered from the Aurelios in Joliet and I must say I don’t think I’ll ever return to one. Had never tried the establishment before but we wanted to celebrate my daughter starting dance (mind you she’s 4) so we ordered a pizza got it home and after a thorough inspection found hair. Not a single hair but multiple hairs not only on top of the toppings but upon further review underneath slices as well. Absolutely disgusting and shows the lack of cleanliness standards at the establishment. Especially in times like these where we are in a pandemic you would think attention to detail would be even more of a priority. Called the store and Was asked did I want another pizza or a refund. Seriously?! Im almost sure I never received the processing of the refund for the pizza. Just know I won’t be back.

Horrible experience, some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The service was terrible from the start, when I called to place my pick up order, the women who answered the phone was extremely rude and unfriendly. As I placing my order, I could her sighing and becoming impatient. Before hanging up she says we’re closing at 9, so be here by then, ok no problem, as I live close by and it’s only 8:15. We get there, before 9 as requested, and walk up to the counter where the women who took my order was organizing receipts. She completely ignores me, doesn’t even look up or say anything and walks away into the back. I’m left waiting for about 10 mins before another woman walks up and asks if she can help me. I give her my name and hand her my card to pay and she says it will be about 10 more mins and is pleasant enough about it. I stand off to the side because other customers were walking in. The whole time while I’m waiting for my food, I can hear and see the same woman who took my order in the kitchen throwing and tossing things around and muttering under her breath. (It was very obvious she was upset that we were in the store so close to closing time. ) sBy this time it’s 9 o’clock, and the same rude woman shouts “It’s 9! Shut everything down! And she actually says loud enough for myself, and the other customers waiting for their food to hear “Get the h*ll out of my store” The other customers and I were in shock! After the order is bagged, the same rude woman tosses my bags of food onto the counter, which I just paid about 90 dollars for, and says without looking at me, to the other cashier, “She’s set to go” and rolled her eyes!
I said to the other cashier, “I can’t believe you talk and treat your customers this way”. She apologized and said to have a good night and I walked out in utter disbelief that this actually happened.I get home and the food is just thrown in the bag, all smashed and half wrapped. Very disappointing after paying so much.
If it was too late to place an order, they could have simply said they’re no longer taking orders for the night. I am very unhappy with the service and won’t be ordering from there again.

Ordered a bunch of food for delivery and they showed up w out our drinks. Which was fine because they said they would come back w it. Over an hour later I finally called and they she was on her way. The store is 5 minutes from my house! I will never order here again… food is cold because we waited thinking they would return shortly and not over an hour later. So disappointing!!

This evening eight of us (four couples) went to Aurelios at Gulf Coast, Ft Myers, Fl for pizza. After being seated we were told there would be no separate checks – one check paid by one person. We asked to see a supervisor. After some discussion we were told only one check and we would need to decide which order went with which person, but each couple could use a credit card. So, we had one person going over the check matching up each order to the appropriate person. I couldn’t believe this!! I have never been in a restaurant that required customers to do this. What ever happened to customer satisfaction? With computer programs today it is a piece of cake for the server to pop in each person’s order and easily print out checks. I visit restaurants who do this all the time. Large wedding parties or other large groups usually are covered by one person or a company check, but four couples! Bottom line is you just lost eight customers and we will be telling our friends.

I have celiac disease, therefore I am gluten free. I had a gluten free pizza at a Naples, FL Aurelio’s in April-2016 and got sick after eating it. Then this last Tuesday I again had a gluten free pizza at the same place. I again got sick. I thought I should let the manager of the restaurant know that they had a problem with there way of preparing the pizza. The manager informed me that I should not eat there GF pizza because it was made where they also make the regular pizzas and could and did have regular flour dust probably on it!! He also said he didn’t have space to spare just to prepare GF pizzas! He said many times I should not eat at his place!! He was rude! Plus, why advertise GF pizzas when he knows there is cross contamination? I felt I needed to let corporate know if this problem. Don’t have GF pizzas in the restaurant that really aren’t GF and will cause the customer to be sick. Thank you for reading this and hopefully you can help to prevent this from happening to someone else.
