My husband and I have had a farm account with Atwoods for approximately 30 years. We have conducted A LOT of business in their stores throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas during those years. I was in the McAlester Atwoods doing some Christmas shopping the evening of December 16 and was drawn to the Hunting section because of all the bright yellow 40% off signs that were displayed in about 3-4 aisles. I spent approximately an hour in your store and at least 30 minutes just in the Hunting section. I chose several items for gifts for my husband and two adult sons from the Hunting section. When I get to the checkout there were several of those items that did not ring up 40% off. I was told that those items are “filler items”. What???? One of the items I chose literally had the sign posted right next to it. So, a manager gets involved (I believe her name is Bobbie) and confirms that it’s not on sale. I expressed my concern that this is deceiving to customers and that I had never heard of “filler items”. I had them suspend my checkout so I could go back to the Hunting section and look again at their displays (I also took pictures). I talked with a very nice employee who worked in the gun/ammo section and was familiar with the hunting section. I expressed my concern and he said that he had personally alerted management to the issue of “filler items” and he said that apparently management didn’t care because the filler items remained. I went back up to the checkout and the manager that spoke with me earlier had her manager with her (I believe his name is Cody or Colby). He immediately was on the defensive and “informed” me that it is “assorted” items that are 40% off and that it is clearly stated. I noted that “assorted” is in very small lettering and assorted is not clear to customers. This manager replies back loudly, rudely and in front of other customers that he “can’t help that I don’t understand what assorted means”. I have never been so disrespected by an employee. But, I guess it made him feel like a big man. I should have just walked out without purchasing anything. I would hope that these are not the kind of employees, much less managers, that you would want working in your store. I did make a public post to Facebook, along with the pictures I took.

Do any of these comments every get anyone’s attention or is this just an unmonitored comments section to make people feel as if they have been heard? There are some pretty heinous comments in here and it would be nice to see some response to them. I was actually going to make a positive comment and recommend a potential location but after reading these comments I don’t think all Attwoods are created equally. The store in Andover kS is phenomenal. The only issue I have ever had was the person who orders ammunition (not an Andover guy) doesn’t seem to understand hunting requirements.

I went into Atwoods in Bartlesville! Purchased 2 chairs a bag of horse feed and some popcorn. Came to about 110.00 dollars. They ran my debit card .. said declined. Kept running my card. I checked my phone banking app and it drained my account to 46.00. They then could not give me a receipt due to their system saying it didn’t go through. They said the charges would drop off that night. I left with my account drained and nothing I paid for. The charges did not drop off that night. It has been 12 days… several calls to corporate… nothing… no concern that they screwed my account for almost 2 weeks and still have my money. Having to do a bank dispute. I’ve never seen a business try to steal your money like this! Beware using a debit card at Atwoods. Their system can go wonky and drain your account and they could absolutely care less! I will never do this again! Poor customer treatment and no customer service!

Was disappointed to find out that after I purchased a firearm from your Elk City oklahoma store, that yor pricing is marked up 50.00 more than your competitors like Basspro, Cabelas and Academy. Manager says sorry, corporate sets the prices. Asking for the difference back if you value your customers.

I feel you. I was buying my puppies milk replacer at a competitor because it was half price . Ran out when they were closed so went to atwoods and it was double the price. I showed them my receipt from the competitor and asked can they price match. NOPE sorry the corporate sets prices. needless to say i no longer shop there because i can get feed at half price every else too. Its sad. Still waiting on corporate for a month now to sell my baby rabbits . now they are too old for them to take and will have to go to auction .

Ken at the Broken Arrow store is the most disrespectful uneducated person, and should not be managing a store. Rude from the first lie out of his mouth, actually told me to go back to another store to return a puppy shot that was not what was in the package. Could of handled the situation in a more appropriate manner. I buy alot of stuff from Atwood’s but you lost another customer tonight. I little respect and kindness goes a long way!!!!

Magnolia, Arkansas Atwood’s has the laziest, sorriest and most disrespectful manager’s ever. How can you have friendly floor and loader crew and bad management? After reading all the bad comments, it seems every Atwood’s is about the same and nothing is ever done about it. But management doesn’t care long as their getting that paycheck and nothing is said to them. Guess that’s the Atwood’s way now days.

The Atwoods in Greenville has rats the size of cats, aside the the mint smell that burns your eyes. The sulfur sprintgs store has been down since may. Everytime I ask when they’ll open I get no reply. As of august 20 it looks as though half of their team left…less cars… but I see that they have a couple of new stores opening as I get emails about their new stores. I live close to yantis… I shouldn’t have to drive that far. Please fix and take care of the companies you have first.

Monticello Atwood’s denied me getting shot gun shells bc the person i was with got some too? The policy is 2 boxes per person. We are 2 people with 2 separate cards. The man was very rude and made up rules as he went. He went so far to ask me if we were married or if we lived together? What in the world makes Atwood’s think they have the right to ask personal questions of paying customers who are abiding my the rules that are posted. It was an awful experience and they will not get anymore of my money. I’m pretty sure the man was in management as well. Also i had to go get him from a group of workers and regular people sitting on some bags just talking in the middle of the store, to ask for help after the front girl paged for help and no one came after 10 minutes of waiting. They should definitely be some repercussions. So unprofessional.

The last 2 times I went to Atwoods in Alma, AR I have encountered an issue with employee name Katie. She rand up my item. I had made a mental note of the price before I went to check out. The price rang up was not what I saw on the shelf. I questioned her and she stated it was probably previously on sale at the lower price. Another employee went to check the price on the shelf and came back to confirm what I had told her. Katie repeated herself as to why the price was different. I told her I was willing to pay the lower price that was on the shelf. She turned to a 3rd employee who said “I will adjust it this one time but the item had been on sale.” I informed her that was not my fault that the old price was still on the shelf. Katie completed my sale and shoved my purchases to me without sacking them. I reached for a bag and she just watched. This is the second encounter with this rude employee. She has no business working with customers because she clearly does not know manners much less how to communicate with customers! I like to support local business but this is ridiculous!

We went to Attwoods in Tyler, TX . Because we received an email about a sale starting Nov 22, 2020. The ad had means work boots on sale. We ask not 1 but 5 people for help to find the boots. Not one came back to us after saying we will ask manager. We saw 2 of them and asked what they found out about boots. She said managers not on sight their at lunch . She then said product is probably in back call back Monday. I was so disappointed in their service. We do a lot of buying foods for our animals and other products. We were not the only ones looking for this product 4 other people were looking for the same boots adviertised. So disappointed.

I had contacted a gentleman, I believe by the name of Brandon a week or so ago, asking about some specific 5.56 ammo and seeing if he could get with his buyer to find out if it was something that could be ordered for that store, so that I could pick up a few boxes.
It is an ammo that shows available through your site but not for online ordering currently.
He said he would get back to me, I had not heard from him so decided to stop by there today on my way into town and check the status. When I asked for him I was at first told by a young lady that he would not be able to help me, as he got into trouble and could not sell guns. I explained to her what it was about and could I talk to him.
When he got to the counter, he was making one excuse after another, what it boiled down to was he said someone took his note, so he was unable to call me. When I pressed him about if he had even tried to contact his buyer about that specific request, he had not. He kept trying to say he was unable to get a hold of the buyer. But he in fact had never tried to contact him about my request.
So he went behind the counter and looked up a number, dialed it, or what appeared to be dialing it, then said he could not get a hold of him and that it was something they normally stocked but would just have to see what comes in.
Here is my issue. I hate excuses and poor customer service. He provided both of those in spades.
The reply should have been; I can’t seem to get a hold of him but I will get with my manager and see if we can get an email or some other kind of contact and let me get your name and number again and I will assure you I will get back to you within xx days with an answer.
Instead, he took the lazy way out.
There are too many other options out there. I purchase various goods and clothes from your store, probably not as frequently as some, but certainly more than just a couple of times a month.
If an associate does not understand the term “customer service” they need to be educated what that term means and how your company defines good customer service. If after they have been taught, perhaps reminded etc… and they refuse to provide that level of customer service, they should be given the chance to prosper elsewhere. Someone else that needs and wants the job and is willing to perform good customer service is out there that will take their place.
As I was leaving, he said something such as “Sorry we couldn’t help you”. My reply was “Some actual follow up would have been nice” and left.
Regards,
A former customer

Atwoods, El Dorado, Arkansas Store is a joke. A couple of weeks back my husband and I were in this store. Over in the department where different feeds were at there were rats running around. Some guys were putting out dog food and a bag busted instead of sweeping up the dog food he just took his foot and kicked it under the pallet. Several of the chickens did not have any feathers. Yesterday 7/21/2019 we were back in the store to get hydraulic fluid for our tractors. The aisle the fluids were on, there were some prices don’t know what the prices were for, we asked an employee to get a price for us and he got on his radio and asked for a price check and the employee on the other end was just clowning around. I went to the service desk, where the guy was at that had been asked to get a price check, he finally gave the price and I asked to see the manager. The young lady that was at the service desk radioed the manager and told her someone needed to speak to her. I told the lady at service desk we would just contact Corporate headquarters. My husband handed me a check to pay for the 3 – 5 gallon cans of hydraulic fluid and went to car as I was going out the door, the clown kept saying maam here’s the manager. I did not even stop. I’m writing this on here and also sending a letter to the corporate headquarters. The higher ups need to send people out into their stores to see how things are really run. We will NEVER shop at Atwoods again. My letter to corporate will probably not be acknowledged. But I have found social media can get peoples attention. Very disappointed customers with Atwoods.

I’ve been seeing a lot of the poultry being mistreated in many ways by the employees. A lot of friends and family including myself have gotten Chicks and Ducklings from their that died off before making it home due to mistreatment and malnourishment. Along with that there are constantly dead Chicks and Ducklings in the cages. Recently there was a lady who found a Duckling with a weak neck due to malnourishment and she asked to take it home and they employees were very rude and hateful towards her. Multiple people have had to rescue the young poultry that the Atwood’s company has been selling. I find the employees along with the company management horrible and shows how incompetent the Atwood’s corporation is. The Atwood’s in Lawton Oklahoma is despicable and is a complete disgrace and shows lack of a pointless company. The issues that everyone has been having at this particular Atwood’s will be going viral because we will all be sharing the stories of what they do there.

This is my second complaint on the same problem. I brought a push lawnmower at the store in El Dorado, Arkansas. I had the mower for less than a month. When using the mower for the second time when the motor began to shake violently. I stopped mowing and noticed that some screws were out. My husband took it to the store where we purchased it , and was told time he entered the store that there would be no replacement. They supposedly sent it out and was told that I had to hit something in order for the motor to come loose from the body. I did not hit anything. We consulted a mechanic too, and he said that sometimes when the mower is put together they are not always tightened, the screws will come out of motor. I am not asking for money, I just want to be made whole. I want the mower replaced. The regional manager called my husband and basically continued to say, y’all hit something. I am the one that was mowing, and I didn’t hit anything

Just got home after making a 70 mile round trip to Atwoods in Lonoke, AR. Went there to buy a gun safe. First two workers were doing a fine job helping me with my purchase but then a co-manager stepped in and told us we could not load it on the pallet laying on its side. I had already looked at the bottom of the safe and you could see clearly it had been bolted to a heavy duty pallet just like all the other safes sitting there. Instead of telling me they no longer had that pallet she ( Kathy ) told me I didn’t know what I was talking about and that these heavy gun safes were shipped in a cardboard box. I have looked at many safes before buying this one and they all had pallets secured to them. To make a long story short, I didn’t appreciate being called a liar by her and this resulted in Atwoods losing a $500.00 sale and a customer that will never be back.

I have had a few outs with Atwood’s over the years and just seldom shop there! My wife was excited over the Christmas sale there and were getting dressed to go when I noticed the sales prices were “after rebate” both mail or online. Unacceptable! That put another stop to Atwood’s shopping for this year. Maybe they will get their act together this decade but I doubt it.

I’m not sure how the Bartlesville store is still in business. There are few employees working there, the ones they do have are stretched out. They have plenty of cashiers and usually a popcorn person (who could use a better hair dresser, I understand multi color hair is in but my gosh), and some younger gentlemen that need to learn play time from work time. I used to enjoy the store but it has become such a disaster. You can’t ever find anyone to help, and when you do they are already stressed out and are rude and unhappy to serve you. No you don’t get your questions answered by a”friend”. I’m not sure how the manager still has a job but I know that they have lost my business. I own my own company and I will be sure to let other local businesses know as well. Hope you guys get your act together. So for now it’s off to TSC, and John Deere.

This morning (8/14/17) my husband was in the Poteau store; he said the lady he dealt with was very helpful and pleasant. However, she was unable to answer a question about transaction from late 8/13/17. A man was called to customer service desk; rather than a complete explanation, he used “store policy” as his reply. My husband questioned him about refusing to honor a state tax exemption on an employee discount; rather than calmly explaining, the man became belligerent, ordered him out of store, told him to never come back and threatened to call police; my husband offered the use of his phone to call Poteau Police Department. Man turned and walked away. No idea how many dollars we have spent on farm supplies, feed, meds, clothing, tools, etc in the years Atwoods has been in business in Poteau. This man lacks self-control and certainly doesn’t add to the family-friendly atmosphere we’ve grown accustomed to in the local store. Aren’t we fortunate to have alternate shoping/spending choices in Poteau!

Very concerned. Know a young man who is respectable, an Eagle Scout, hard working who has put his application in at the Bartlesville store numerous times.
Interesting part how I learned about this was when he had asked for the manager. Overhearing the young man ask, “I put my application in.” He was quickly interrupted, “Do you have a good phone number?” Abruptly turning and walking off. Being appalled at the attitude of a manager not even to ask a name, extend a hand, say he would look into it was jaw dropping. I simply asked the young man how he was. “Okay, just was looking for a way to pay for college,” Encouraging him to talk found he wants to make something of himself. Management means serving the customer. Not walking off with no intention. You were hiring, you had a sign out, the least you could do was be nice,

5/28/17 Jacksonville TX, making a purchase as usual, and the register came up not valid. The cashier tried twice and said she I had to fill out another paper per their files. I argued why it didn’t happen the week before or the week before that since I shop weekly here pretty much and have been for years. I went to my truck and got a copy of the agriculture exempt form and filled it out, then handed it to the manager, who refused to except it because it is issued in my wife’s name. The manager said I would need to get her to fill it out in person. I asked why TSC, because other companies such as John Deere, Kubota, and numerous other places get me to sign blank form and they have the courtesy enough to fill it out since its for their files and not mine. The manager refused to accept the form and after refusing my service, I went back to my truck about mad and thought about the situation and went back straight to the manager and asked if he was refusing to sell me 20 bags of feed which are tax exempt any way. I got my feed but my wife doesn’t remember when she actually filled a form out- probably in 2015 so your yearly system excuse lacks! Maybe I should find another place to shop!

I made a trip across town to go to Atwoods a few days ago and I found some good sale items and was pleased with my purchases and treatment ! I noticed a item while I was at the location I was interested in more so when I seen the price tag with a extreme bargain ,I l just figured no way it’s to much of a bargain it has to be wrong and went on . Because it was a deal to good to be true . The next day day I was in there area and decided to check the item again because surely it would be changed if it was wrong ,but it was not . So I had some other earends and thought OK if it’s still that way this evening I will inquire about it .Later today I decided to make a third trip with a family member telling her that after days of this tag being on there and nobody moving it was surely what it should be priced and if it was still the same I would ask the manager about their price tagging policy . Well sure enough it still had the price tag ( which by the way the price tag was a paper was the size of a full sheet notebook paper taped to the box ) .So I ask the gentleman at the register I was buying candy from , about there policy’s , he said he wasn’t sure ,so I asked him if there was a manager to speak with . The young man promptly went and brought the manager over . I asked the manager the same question , About items that were tagged with a possible wrong price over my last several trips , what was the policy . The manager explains in that case if it is taped or tagged the wrong price on a item of course over days , they will honor the price .I was so excited . Well I repeated what he said to me and he said to him and my family member with me and of course excitement of a unbelievable deal now was right there , the manager replies yes that was correct he would honor the item .Well of course I was excited to purchase the item then and he asked me to show him .So I took him back showed him and he said oh though it’s taped there he couldn’t honor it because a employer must have been stocking the bird feed and pulled the sticker off and then stuck t to the box ,he says the box is just in a much to convinent spot and should really be moved . Pulling of the price tag from the box to show me if a employee is stocking how he could pull the tag off and stick it on the box conventily ..Well this is not what he said in the beginning ,though he stated it Infront of my family and his own employee ,he felt now with the discount it would be , I guess he didn’t like the discount so he now could switch the policy . Now if it was only short time the tag was on this product and if the manager never stated that by policy he would honor it . I may of felt different (let me also say the item and tage was in clear view of all) but again three trips and more than 24 hours with clean up, closing of the store and restocking. yet no one bothered to remove the wrong price tag on top of it all the manager stating to me he would honor any item like this . I told him review ur cameras to see how long it was this way check what I’m saying because at this point I’m getting upset . I now wholeheartedly felt this item should be honored, due to not only on the managers own words of what his policy was but shouldn’t it have been noticed taken care seen and corrected over this length of time. This item was a toy Jeep I was so excited that the opportunity of purchasing this for my grandbabies ,though it was a mistake it was a blessing to me . I didn’t feel that enjoyment or excitement till he told me he would honor it . Only to recant I guess cause he was thinking of a cheaper item is all I can figure ,so he decided to changed what he wanted . Though he stated the policy he tried to now say different ,he said the box of the Jeep was just in a bad place and just too much of convince for a employees to stick the price sticker on during stocking . Well needless to say this is a problem . So though it was in the guidelines he described he nervously changed because I guess cause it wasn’t a bag of dog food or something . I will post the pictures of the tagged item and how it was in clear view again over days and three trips ,but how can that be customer service . Yes it was a extreme discount and that’s why I didn’t just take it to the register or get excited untill I I waited to inquire about items being tagged wrong and store policy . So tell me how this is customer service and is policy to change policy on conveniancece? I have pictures of this also . I wasn’t even offered a discount to top it all off

Bought 4 bags of 13% pellets on 12,26,16.they were marked $5.99. After check out on the way home I looked at the receipt and realized that I was charged $6.99. I called the atwoods store and told the young girl what had happened. She told me that they would remove the signs that were wrong. No mention of making the problem wright with the customer. Very disappointed with atwoods.

How is it possible my sister was scheduled 9-2pm then asked to stay over ended up working till 6pm and not only did she not have a lunch break when she told them her feet were hurting they told her to take a 15 min break. Then called her back to the register 10 mins later!!!! So to say the least i am her legal guardian and i am pissed! Not only that she is trying it out as a job coaching program from a developmental center. SERIOUSLY! The BBB should really check into Atwoods break and lunch policy!!

We have purchased four 1hp pumps for our water well at our residence. The fourth one went out after 9 months. We returned it to our local Atwoods only to be told they can’t refund because it is too large an amount. So we are stuck waiting for a check and with no water because not everyone has an extra $500 lying around to purchase another pump! The manager spoke to the clerk for a minute then went upstairs and would not come back and speak with us any more. This is not the first time we have had problems there and probably won’t spend any more money with Atwoods!
