Founded in 1978 by the Atlantic Richfield Corporation, AMPM is a chain of convenience stores most often attached to ARCO or BP gas stations.
BP acquired Atlantic Richfield in 2000. While many locations have changed the name of the gas stations to BP, some retain the ARCO name and logo. The AMPM name remains the same. Convenience stores are mostly franchises with more than 970 locations found mainly in the Western portion of the US.
A key focus of AMPM is its food program. Stores offer fresh coffee, bakery items, fresh sandwiches and hot foods, such as hot dogs and burritos. AMPM offers up to 24 different soda fountain flavors and a condiment bar so customers can top off their nachos or hot dogs with pickles, onions, cheese, and other items.
In June 2019, the company announced that it would carry Harvest brand CBD products, which include lotions, oils, and snack bars.
In August 2022, the company announced that it would start expanding the AMPM convenience stores to the East Coast.
Headquarters for the company are located in La Palma, California.

Hello hello Steven I’m not sure of your story but I just wanted to let you know real quick what’s going on here in Fresno California. I about 20 years ago 30 yaàears ago almost we visited a store in Madera California and I’m a food stamp user and they let me know that I can buy hot food they said they went to corporate they said it’s a big round table and got this approved 30 years ago .now 2023 Fresno California and the food stamp program here is had a lot of people start ,Burger King Denny’s ,Popeyes, Pizza they all serve people with food stamps homeless people are disabled people at least so people are coming around to hot food for us,now you have a store Olive and Clovis avenue I know they’re probably franchises are some kind of weird something’s going on but usually you can buy cold food out of the refrigerator and microwave it .They made it to where for a year now there’s been no microwave here so they don’t have to serve hot food to people with food stamps completely .I’m sorry if I put this comment in the wrong area or disregarded your previous stories I just need to get this out there to you because it’s not fair I’m going to be able to come to the store and it’s not many stores out here and buy something hot to eat it’s cold outside and but I can’t cuz they won’t buy a microwave or they won’t sell hot food to even disable people with food stamps but the microwave is the worst part thank you

while getting gas a one of your AMPM stations I noticed the dollars stopped moving on the pump so I kept pressing the handle but no avail when the car owner behind me yelled out to me to look and I noticed gas was pouring out of my pump from the top of the hose that was not even connected. The hose was laying on the concrete & gas was pouring out of where the connection should have been. Gas on me Gas on the Floor so I immediately jumped into my vehicle as my spouse was inside and pulled up to the store door parking area ran inside and yelled to the attendant at the register that there was gas all over the place….he pressed a button at the register & spoke into a receiver that he needed someone to come out to help for an emergency…it took a while for that person to arrive so I said to him this needs immediate attention….his comment to me was to have patience! By the time someone came out another car pulled up and was starting to get gas. Eventually a man came out & very nonchalantly put a yellow notice on the handle “out of order” but just walked away leaving gas on the ground. Amazing how no one seemed to care with something that is soooo very dangerous with lives at stake and a mess that no one even asked me if I needed anything….just did not care. I believe its management that is at fault for not teaching your employee’s how to handle things. Ugh!!!!!

The car wash option on the gas pump is very misleading, it does not give any prices and it also starts with the highest wash price which is “Diamond” so the screen is shown as stated “Diamond, Platinum, Gold”. Many would assume that these are starting from lowest to highest, especially because one would think Gold is the most expensive. I then tried to go inside the store to refund it, and was told that they did not even have the Diamond option to purchase/refund. I’m not sure how it is possible to sell a product yet not have it in the system.

How about a little warning about holding the same amount paid for gas with card debit or credit. 75.99 got charged twice now have overdraft fees and penalties. I live paycheck to paycheck this is absolutely ridiculous

I went to the Arco AM/PM @ 7282 S Fort Apache, Las Vegas branch yesterday to purchase 2 energy drinks. While I was paying for my items using my debit card, the machine asked me if I would like to get cash back. I pressed “yes” and proceeded to get $40. When the Cashier realized that I needed cash back, his demeanor changed and started lecturing me about protocols. He stated “it’s company protocol for customers to ask the cashier that we are getting cash back”. I’m a patient guy. But the way he said it in front of other people, like I’m supposed to know Arco’s company policy about getting my own money. As if I have to ask permission on top of what the machine asked me to do, if I’d like to get cash back. I told the older, Filipino gentleman (cashier) that I didn’t know about that policy and it would be nice if there are signs that states “inform cashier before getting cash back”. He was extremely unpleasant, rude and made me feel embarrassed for not knowing Arco company policy. The way he spoke to me was disrespectful, demeaning and to put it bluntly, like a “smartass”. It’s like I gotta ask permission to receive my own money. Upon receiving the $40, I reached out and he just threw the money on the counter instead of giving it to me politely. I even thanked him and said have a good day. Instead, he scuffed and started to talk to other customers about me He truly expressed his dismay about the situation and even started talking Tagalog to the next customer who is also Filipino which I can understand. He said that I should’ve known and even thought that I was the one who was an “a-hole” for not letting him know. I’m sorry but this is completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I would have spoken to the manager but I needed to be at work. This happened on March 29, 2022 at approximately 6:30 to 6:45 pm. I would like to formally escalate this situation and talk to someone about this unpleasant event. Thank you.

There is an employee that treats me like dirt every time I come into the store he is very rude and just hands my change not caring if it drops on the counter he never says have a good day and he has singled me out going out of his way to be rude there is also another employee that does the same. They do not treat others that way! They are never friendly and never say welcome when I say thank you! This store is brand new and I would like to speak to the owner or ampm corporation head quarters! Store is located at 7670 Watt Ave North highlands CA

I use ARCO frequently but for some reason it has not been taking my bank card . I have to go inside to purchase gas. I spoke to an employee and ask why was that happening everytime I want gas I need to go inside store. She asked who I bank with, I said Chase. She said we are having trouble with Chase Bank. Now someone made a fraud purchase at ARCO for 3 purchase of $100 each transaction on 10/28/20. I don’t even put that much gas in my car in one transaction. Something is not right here. ARCO needs to be investigated for FRAUD store location #42250

Hello,
I’m not planning on writing an endless email about my experience, but this is very concerning. It goes beyond bad customer service.
I have left my car for sale at a temporarily closed business(carwash) due to COVID-19. Approximately 20-30 feet away from am/pm store.
The employees including management went beyond and washed off my contact information from the car I had for sale and called a towing company. Towing company damaged my car during towing and cost me over $400 to get it back. I’ve asked the manager on the morning of 4/8/20 why they didn’t give me a courtesy call to move the car that’s not even on their property. She replayed that’s not her job, and that she doesn’t care about me or my car and it’s her business who she calls all that with an extreme attitude bordering with hostility. At one point I had 4 am/pm employees almost ready to attack me. After research, I find out that also they are getting monetary kickbacks from the tow company.
I just wanted to sell my car to help myself and my family during these difficult times and I was met with 0 understanding, passive-aggressive employees that are ready to scam you for few bucks.
Deeply disappointed! This is an experience that I would never forget.
Location on the am/pm store is:
5705 S RAINBOW BLVD
LAS VEGAS, NV 89119
Thank you for your time

Made a stop to my local Arco ampm #42865 And when I asked the cashier Sky if she can open the door for the alcohol section she said it’s a store policy to hold on to my ID before even opening the door. I just let her hold on to it but then I asked her we’re it stated she physically had to hold on to it because I’m a consistent customer she said she’s been working there for 3 months rolled her eyes and said that’s what they do. For the cashier to hold on to my ID until the end of purchase they should have something written because sometimes people are in a rush and if the cashier would have forgotten to give it back it would’ve made me upset for my personal belongings and personal information. Wasn’t a very good experience I had.

I recently fueled up at the Arco in bend Oregon. I have two tanks on my vehicle, one was full, the other I filled it Arco. I have an older vehicle, and even though I did not think it was possible, the gas jockey filled my tank with diesel. I was in the store when this happened. I did not realize this until I switched tanks and my vehicle died shortly thereafter. I had to hitchhike to town to get gas, when hitchhike back. Then I had to have the tank emptied and system flushed. People say I should sue. Sure I could recoup the money it cost me,and maybe something for my trouble, but what I feel is the costliest part of this whole ordeal is that ever since I returned from Germany,am/pm Arco stations have been a consistent trusted place for me. Over thirty years of having faith and trust in a business, and now that is gone. For now I will not do business with them at all. I am not angry, just disappointed and feeling a sense of loss. I know it was not on purpose, and it is a very busy stations. I have an honorable discharge from the Navy, was travelling for my sister’s funeral, and I have cancer myself. I guess I am just hoping that someone from Arco reads this and makes some kind of effort or gesture to make me feel better about what happened. I am not a litigious kind of person, but I will have to put more thought into this before I make that decision. Right now I am recovering from surgery to remove my cancer, all my energy is going to that.

I was getting gas at 2015 W.Main st. in Turlock, California. I gave the cashier two $10 Bill’s and he only gave me $10 in gas so I went inside and told the cashier and he told me I only gave him a $10 bill. He had another employee look at the video footage and it clearly showed the cashier did not separate the two $10 dollar Bill’s. They have lost my business just like Chevron gas station on Geer Road in Turlock. I better get my refund or the better business bureau will hear about this. I may even take them to court! Watch out people if your in the Turlock area!

To whom may I concern,
I believed that the employee who is working there is an international student who is undocumented and accepting under the table pay to avoid paying taxes. I talked to the employee several times and he told me that’s he is an international student and his name is Lam Le. The store located on 860 W Fremont Avenue Sunnyvale CA (#83062). Also Lam is very rude and threatening me like he going to beat me up and all kind of bad stuff whenever I come to the store to buy gas or merchandise for no reason. Please do something about this problem.
Sincerely,
Tom
