To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing to you today to inform you of the unsafe working conditions at your Athens TN production facility. I will also explain what happened to me after reporting the situation.
Being a production facility with running machines there are bound to be oil leaks from time to time. This facility roughly goes through 400 gallons of oil each day in order to replace what oil is now on the floor. The floors at this facility are unsafe to walk on. I have brought this matter to my direct supervisor’s attention, safety and HR. Nothing has been done to clean or reduce the amount of oil on the production floors.
Last week I exercised my right under OSHA handout #3 and refused to work due to unsafe conditions. My supervisor immediately told me to clock out and go home.
The next day when I arrived at work, I was told that I was demoted. This is a form of retaliation that should not be tolerated.
Furthermore, to add insult to injury, my job was filled the day that I was demoted, and the person is receiving at least 1 month of training. When I began, I barely received 2 weeks of training. I requested more but was denied by my supervisor boss.
To summarize:
Received inadequate training for position
Properly reported safety concerns
Sent home over refusal to work in unsafe conditions
Demoted for reporting unsafe conditions

As a former employee of adient in athens tn. Something needs to be done about supervisor Brian Smith he is a very racist. The rules of wearing masks and safty glasses applys to him also. He makes all his employees follow the rules then he sets there on the floor at his desk with no safty glasses on and no mask. We are suppose to put the mask on before we exit our vehicles and leave them on till breaks or till we go back to our vehicle. He also shows favoritism towards his employees. All the office people are scared of him because he wants to pull the racists card and say they are picking on him because he is black. He screams at his employees if you have a problem with an employee pull them to the side do not scream and yell at them in front of everyone, that is very disrespectful. Something needs to be done before you loose all of your employees.

You might need to send someone down to investigate the HR department at the Athens Tn plant. The man whose first name is Ean has been propositioning women for sex that work there and has even taken a former employee for the cleaning service upstairs to the bathroom. He was overheard telling her to take a towel upstairs to the bathroom. And it is also rumored that an employee who was taken to HR had sex with him to keep her job. The employees name is Andrea Derby. She has had sex with several male employees at the plant. She explicitly talks about her sex life to male employees there all the time. She constantly refers to herself as a Goddess and sends pictures of her body to male employees that have given her their numbers. She starts rumors about other employees going behind machines having sex or performing oral sex. One male employee has a restraining order against her for stalking and harassment. All this leads to the HR department at Athens Adient not doing their job.
