Acme Fresh Market was founded in 1891 by a local grocer, Frederick Wilhelm Albrecht, after buying out his brother’s share of a market. Originally called Albrecht’s, Fredrick changed the name to Acme, after visiting Philadelphia and seeing how many people came to a grocery store there called Acme. The company operates a chain of grocery stores in Ohio.
The company began to expand over the years but lately has changed its focus from non-food items to Fresh Market branding. Since the early 2000s, many stores have been overhauled or remodeled to make them look more modern. The company has more plans for expansion, as they own a large piece of land in Medina, Ohio. Current plans are to have 5 shopping centers, anchored by a huge 68,000-square-foot Acme Fresh Market location.
Acme Fresh Market also features Quick Clinics for simple medical needs, such as vaccinations, some locations have fueling stations, and most have pharmacies. There are currently 16 locations and one is a pharmacy-only store.
In August 2022, Acme Markets applied with Ohio state to allow them to place sports gaming kiosks inside certain locations.
Albrecht, Inc., Acme’s realtor, owns land in Medina, Ohio, and has plans for a five-building shopping center anchored by a 68,000-square-foot Acme store but a date for the groundbreaking hasn’t been set as of yet.

It’s sad to say, but I have experienced that same thing at the Acme on Manchester Road in Coventry. I also just witnessed a young woman who didn’t want to go the extra mile to find a particular product. A lady came up and was asking about an even showed it on their app then they carried the product. She just says nope I’ve never seen it so there’s no way for me to track it to see if we have it at this location. Me overhearing the conversation I went right back to where the product was supposed to be located to find out that there was none there and I could not find the customer to tell her that yes they do have it they were just out. I did approach the young woman and told her that if a customer asks you for help, you should do your due diligence . This is absolutely disgusting of today’s generation and the management who is supposed to teach them what good Customer Service is.

Acme #7 in Kent Ohio – Yesterday I was charged $1 more than the listed shelf prices on two different items. I got my $2 back, but this isn’t the first time this has happened. It happens a lot. You need to make sure prices on the shelves are accurate and updated. Dollar General just had a lawsuit against them for this same issue. Also your digital coupon for $1 off (2) Sweet Baby Rays products only gave me .50 off. The receipt shows under redeemed rewards $1 but on the upper receipt after the products it’s clearly shows only .50 taken off. Lastly, I’ve called your corporate customer service many times, no one ever answers it. They are always unavailable. It’s a shame, because it seems like they don’t care about their customers issues.

I have called the corporate office 2 times this week to help resolve an issue. No one has called back after 4 days. When Mimi was there a call back was always done with 24 hours. This is not good customer service.

When will the stores start getting in fresh bread and bakery that has not been frozen?
Also, when corporate office is called why is there never anyone with customer service to answer the call?
Why when message is left with customer service is the call not returned?

I just had THE worst shopping experience in Acme #18.
Was followed throughout the store, watched like a thief then verbally assaulted by staff. The ONLY store in Kenmore to shop at. I hope they close it soon. I’ve NEVER been treated that way before.
Susan Buttermore says
Dont bother calling corporate or emailing them. The customer service never answers the phones and they dont respond to emails either.
I guess they dont care about keeping longtime local customers. Maybe they are trying to force us to go to Giant Eagle.

Your Antipasta kinda made you guys pretty popular back in the day……..not so much anymore. Why change a good thing? 30 years ago in my 20’s I LOVED going to the Manchester Rd. location to get Antipasta, it was made (on the constant) by taking the last little bits of the deli meats and cheese as they could no longer be sliced for sandwich meat, cutting them up into chunks and mixing it with a dressing and veggie mix (that was premade, yeah I got one of the deli lady’s to sell me a bucket I loved the dressing so much!) and tossing in a few other things here and there. Now everyday the mix could be different, depending on what meats and cheeses were at their end. THATS the Antipasta I remember and love. Also, it was available EVERY day because the mix was constantly being added to. Now, today’s Antipasta. It is a set recipe. Ham, Salami, American, mozzarella. The pieces are all cut in a nice little uniform size….please…..The dressing veggie mix has changed also. It’s the SAME EVERY DAY, well when they have it. The past 3 times I have went they haven’t had it at the State Rd. Acme in Cuyahoga Falls. All I have to say is it’s a shame you let something that was so popular and talked about go downhill. Tsk tsk Acme. And another thing, I did buy stuff to make salad the other day, and a lot of the produce at the Falls store is absolutely disgusting.

Does anyone at Acme ever read these and do they care? Marc’s moved in a mile from our Acme and today was the last time I go to the Norton acme Prices suck employees are not trained well managers don’t care and customer is always right is a joke they would rather argue with you about what you want and tell you that you SHOULD want something different it’s a joke, not so much criticizing staff because they probably don’t get paid enough to really care but I hope you’re paying attention , I complained once before about 3 years ago and then found out that to this day the manager made a joke out of it , I know this because my relative went in to buy what I complained about and the deli clerk told her the story of my complaint if I was a “Karen” I would make a
Big deal about how disrespectful this store is to its customers but I don’t even give a sh*+ anymore because I know you don’t listen anyway. I have a huge family around here and we are all done with you.

You have a worker who is doing the online work I believe, she is new to the Acme 1 on market street. She is black and has grey hair. I couldn’t see her name. Anyhow, I left your store sick because of the perfume she was wearing, it was as though she took a bath in the stuff. My asthma flared up and I had a headache for several hours. I have been shopping at this location for years and I have never smelled this much perfume on an employee. I am not sure I can go back there if she works all of the time with that smell. Don’t you have some sort of rules for this for employees. Those of us who have allergies and asthma cannot be around this type of trigger. It is bad enough the laundry isle filled with scents that cause it. She needs to be told not to wear strong perfume to work.

I wanted to purchase the food club can vegetables that were on sale this week for 39 cents a can. The store in Parma was out of them. I went to customer service for a raincheck, but a sign said they do not issue rainchecks. I believe thst since it was advertised and did NOT specify limited quanties or special purchase that Ohio law requires the store to either issue a raincheck or substitue a comparable item. They said they will not do that. I will be contscting Ohio Attorney General’s Office to file a complaint.

I purchased several items on sale. The cashier took my Acme card and handed it back. Found out afterward she did not record the number. I was charged regular price and everything I bought. Had to go to customer service. They told me the little bites were not on sale and I said yes they are, I just bought some two days before. They were two for $6. They said no they were not on sale. I said yes they are. A fellow went back and checked the price on the shelf and said they are not on sale and if you bought some two days before you paid regular price. I said no I did not, I paid 2 for $6. They didn’t want to hear it. I said fine take the doggone things back and refund my money which they did. I felt like they were calling me a liar . After I left the store I noticed on the sale paper it said two for $6 expiring on August 18th. What in the Hades is going on in your store? Don’t you hire anyone who knows what they’re doing? A similar thing happened to me a couple months ago. If I want this kind of service I can go to Save-A-Lot. I’m sick and tired of it. I’m really ticked off and sick and tired of Acme.

Shopping at the Manchester Rd location 8/5/21. The checkout was filthy.. The check out lines were six customer deep on 4 open registers. Another one opened, went to the line and the conveyor belt was filthy. The young girl was nice but I decided to actually reach each item to her instead putting it down. Talked with manager “Justin” told him the problem. He really showed no concern. Asked him if cleaning methods had stopped. He said they were cleaned once in the morning… If they get that dirty with food and debris shouldn’t they be cleaned again when needed, especially when first opening the register. The manager showed no concern… He was too busy changing the front tables. Cleanliness should come first, making customers feel safe shopping there.

We purchased the ghost pepper Smokey meat snack stick 9 oz. It had no ghost pepper listed in the ingredients they weren’t even warm let alone hot. You should correct your labels.

On 6/13/21 I purchased two containers of acme fresh market ice cream. One Cherry Cordial and the other Chocolate Marshmallow, both were horrible. The Cherry Cordial had not one single cherry in it just chocolate flakes and the Chocolate Marshmallow had no marshmallow in it.They should have been labeled Vanilla Chocolate Chip and Chocolate ice cream I was very disapointed and threw tem out. I have bought these two flavors many times in the last four years and was never disapointed but, this time JUNK..I will not buy your brand Im gonna switch to a competators maybe then I will get what Im paying for…..

on Nov.1st, location of store, 1225 West Pleasant Dr., Parma, Ohio, I sent my
husband to purchase the Food Club Butter that was on sale that day, only.
My husband returned with salted butter instead of the unsalted butter. I called
and spoke with Brian who assured me that he could exchange it for the unsalted
butter. My husband spoke to Cust. Rep. “Kim”, who told him that Acme does not
accept returns. “Are you kidding me”! She was surprised and looked upset
when he told her that the manager, Brian, had approved the item. We are
loyal shoppers at Acme and have heard of other shopppers complaining about Kim. Kim should not be in customer service, period!. Her demeanor
“sucks” and she is rude..

I have played your game for a number of years. I did win once $5.00 off my groceries.
I have entered numbers and told I won but never got a coupon for it and never had it taken off my bill when I entered my telephone number. Today I was told I would receive a coupon for the bottle of V8 I won. I have not received one. I tried entering the code and again and got told it had already been entered. This may sound petty but it is just 1 example. I enter my telephone number which you seem to want to attach things to. I know I am not going to win one of your prizes that are really worthwhile. I just feel it would be nice to get the ones I’m entitled to. I’m not interested in the Gasoline discounts. Discounts off my groceries are nice. You have changed the products in the store and removed somethings I like. I cannot eat spicy food or things with too much acid. I don’t feel I am alone. It would be nice if thing like pasta sauce was marked not spicy. I like tender meat which is not what I have gotten recently. The one thing i do like is the Campbell Soup variety you carry in the store. At this time, I’m annoyed with the contest. I don’t think you really care about the shoppers just what you make. My name is Thomas and my family has been living in churchville for the last 18 yrs. i used to shop at super fresh in richboro but ever since acme took over I shop less frequently due to many bad experiences. In short, today 6/1/2017, I called in to inquire about the coke that was on sale for $8.77 for 4 of the 12 packs. I spoke to Jerry and was confirmed that the sale was still going until midnight. I came over around 9:30 pm and again inquired about the sale cola and one of the staff asked and confirmed that it’s ok for me to purchase for the sale price. At checkout , the manager was not very pleasant adjusting the sale price since it was no longer on sale. She rudely informed me that the coke was on sale for 4 days only and that it was inconvenient for her to adjust the price. I was so close to walk out of the store and left the coke behind because I felt insulted and as if she was doing me a favor. I kept my cool, thank her and left the store feeling unappreciated and a little upset because of the way was treated.
I just want to bring this to your attention and perhaps you can rectify the problem before it escalate out of control.
