A Place for Mom was founded by Pamala Temple, John Temple, and Brian Trisler in 2000. The company operates a senior living referral service.
The company generates revenue when a senior who was referred by an advisor moves to a provider within A Place for Mom’s partner network. The company works with over 17,000 partner communities as part of its partner network. APFM reviews licenses and violations of partner communities twice a year.
The company is the largest senior referral service in both the US and Canada. Free to families, the company makes an assessment of the seniors’ needs and then matches them with one of the 18,500 retirement communities within the network.
In July 2018, the company announced that it had been acquired by Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing, and General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm.
Company headquarters are currently located in Seattle, Washington.

I work for an assisted living and have written many articles for senior adults over the past few years. My articles have been in local magazines and one particular magazine that has a distribution in about 10 states. I have also written short biographies of residents in AL to share with their community and friends. I am interested in contracting articles for other senior living organizations. If this is something APFM might have need of I would have interest in working with you. I can be reached at the email address below.

My parents are currently living at Oliver Woods in Owosso, MI. My mom, who is not suffering from dementia although my father is, has been extremely dissatisfied with their care, the food, the nursing staff, and especially Dan, the manager. We, as a family, are also unimpressed. So you can imagine the horror of seeing the local paper front page today, indicating that OW has received a high award from your company. It is absolutely NOT deserved and we are appalled that A Place for Mom would designate this facility for ANY honor. Do some research!
