Home Run Inn was founded in 1923 by Vincent and Mary Grittani. Originally a tavern, when a home run ball broke the window of the tavern during a game, the pair decided to rename the business Home Run Inn.
Today, Home Run Inn is a chain of Chicago style pizza restaurants. Mary Grittani developed the pizza recipe in 1940, which is still used today. The company began selling frozen pizzas in the area in the 1950’s and in the late 80’s, a frozen pizza manufacturing plant was constructed. The second plant was constructed in 1996, which has allowed the company to offer their frozen pizzas in 30 states.
As of 2015, the company has 8 locations, all in the greater Chicago area. Consumer Reports listed Home Run Inn pizza as the #1 frozen pizza in America in2013.

I gave a family gathering @ 4254 W. 31st St, Chigo, IL 60623 on 2/24/20 Tkt#97480 & we spent $516.00. The police was called on the last person to leave (even though he had already paid his portion) over $30 due to the cashier not ringing up the bill correctly. He was prevented to leave until he paid the $30.00. Plz contact me to discuss exactly what happened.

There is a dilemma I have with the Home Run Inn on 4254 W 31st Street at Chicago IL, 60623. It’s been like 4 times that I’ve gone in the past five weeks and I’ve had to smell the foul stench of marijuana from their curly-headed busser with the pale complexion. I’ve asked the José for his name and I was told his name was Osvaldo Jimenez. I go their with my family for great customer service but it’s hard to eat when the taste and smell of our food is combined with that odor. Not only that, but I don’t want my children to be in close proximity to it. And I understand that it’s unavoidable but I find it quite ridiculous that it’s coming from an employee rather than the clientele. Does the overall Home Run Inn company not drug test their employees before working? Do you think it’s right for the clientele to indulge in such a smell when they’re eating? I don’t think it’s right; employees of such caliber shouldn’t be representing your restaurants. It’s only going to damage your reputation. And what’s worse is that I confronted a manager about the employee and she told me that nothing could be done about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the other employees at Home Run Inn partake in the use of drugs.

I’ve been coming to the HRI on 31st since I was a child I never experienced this before we waiting in the hallway it was freezing cold they had boards on the window n had a little heater that they didn’t have on my family from out of town came in to celebrate my birthday and we couldn’t even enjoy our food because how cold it was in that place if they were under construction and it’s cold like that they should not be open especially if you have elder customers we had to eat with out coats on that experience there made me never want to go ever again.

Sunday I choose to quit my job at Home Run Inn due to the lack of management. I was working for Home Run Inn for about 8 months, the job was easy and most of the employees are amazing. During my time here I witnessed how badly this poor restaurant is being held and the main issue is the managers. After working for one of Fortunes 100 best companies to work for, I instantly noticed a HUGE difference from my old managers. There is a difference between criticizing employees work & bullying them. Although I was not a target of this I noticed how it affected other employees too. The comments these managers would say about some of their employees are so inappropriate and totally not acceptable for my working environment. I couldn’t believe how some of the employees still worked here after seeing & hearing the way the managers treat them. My second day working at Home Run Inn I was shoved by my manger John out of the computer because I couldn’t find the reservation list. I could not believe he didn’t ask me if I needed help Or anything! he just got frustrated and shoved me out the way.
I would see managers yell & belittle their own employees IN PUBLIC.
Last week I witnessed manager Sharon handling a problem in such an unfair way. She humiliated her employee while she was cashing out a customer, she didn’t bother to hear both sides of the story or try to resolve this problem in a civil way or at the very least in PRIVATE.
Although I didn’t want to call out Manager Norma, I am. I use to love Norma, I thought she was the only good manager UNTIL I noticed how much she loves the drama & how fake she is. There was an incident where she was bullying an employee, she would insult her appearance & spread rumors that she’s dirty. This made me so upset because we come to work to f-ing work not to get bullied. My poor coworker has cried many times hearing some of these rumors and it’s so sad that it’s the managers here.
I finally choose to leave after finding out manager Sharon AGAIN humiliated another employee Saturday night for putting her 2 weeks in, with her laughing comment “They weren’t sh*t Anyways”.
And finally Judy, one of my coworker was sexually harassed here by one of the dishwashers which she reported but recently she explained to Judy how she felt really uncomfortable, I witnessed the man just standing their staring at her kind of nodding his head at her like he wanted to laugh. It’s sad and it sucks that she had to come to work and see that person everyday and this restaurant did NOTHING about it.
The only good managers this restaurant has is the kitchen managers: JOSE, ROBERT, & HUGO. These managers have been nothing but nice and helpful to this restaurant. This restaurant needs some serious help, this restaurant doesn’t even have daily goals or long term goals. They treat their employees like objects not humans.
It’s sad how easy it is to make your own employees happy. Happy employees are more productive and you managers wonder why no one gives a f**k about their job here or why we don’t do things how you guys ask us to do it, it’s because everyone is miserable. I really hope this restaurant gets new managers or has them separate because these 4 managers put together will never help this poor company succeed.
SorryNotSorry.

Hi, I’ve been a long time customer, for some 30yrs.or so.
I get my pizzas from the Beverly Location. My complaint is the pizzas are either over cooked or not cooked enough. They look nothing like what is advertised. Why is that?
Also your frozen pizzas with sausage are not as good. Small amounts of sausage and they’re like what Domino pizza started off.Small sausage Balls! I know things change, but you should never change what makes people keep coming back, Good food. Please look into this Thanks

So saturday which was 10/21/2017 I called home run inn on 31st to inform them that i would be having a party of at least 10 people maybe a little more. The worker said that everything is based off a first come first served so I would basically have to wait in like like everyone else. I then arrived at the store 2 hours after I called and told the rep that I would need seats for 13 she then was ready to seat me at 3:08 with only 4people out of my party present. I told her I had some table decorations and needed to run back to my car. When I came back in I was directed to sit down on the bench and wait for 3/4th of my party to be in attendance to be seated. Finally at about 3:35 the rest of my party stared to show up that’s when she decided to seat me as soon as I touched the stair to be seated I was told “WE CAN NO LONGER SEAT YOU” you have to leave. I totally understand that you guys had a basement flood but considering the fact that I waited already for a decent amount of time after being miss led I think I should of been told sooner than when I was told. They knew way before 3:36 that it was issues and they would have to close because when i first arrived I over heard a customer saying that the soda tasted funny. I then asked to speak to a manager whom seemed as if she didn’t care. Saturday was a big day for me i spent 160 dollars to have snap chat filters made for this location for my kids birthdays. Considering the fact the manager was so unapologetic during the whole situation i won’t be returning. They knew before the 30 mins had passed that it was a leak and there was issues with plumbing but I guess making me wait to find out was some sort of game that I had to play.
