Klein Tools was founded in Chicago, Illinois, by German immigrant Mathias Klein in 1857.  Klein developed and made a pair of side cutting pliers for a telegraph repairman. The company grew quickly as it began to make tools for telegraph, telephone, and electrical companies and their employees.

Today, Klein Tools continues to manufacture hand tools, specializing in electrical and telecommunications tools. The company manufactures nearly 4,000 different types of hand tools and tool bags. The company is still privately owned, with Thomas Klein as current CEO.

Klein Tool has its own drop forging plant in Moran, Kansas, as well as a distribution center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

In September 2021, the company introduced a planar level tripod, eliminating the need to rotate a laser leveling tool.

The company moved its headquarters in 2006 to Lincolnshire, Illinois.

I purchased two 1550-44 knives both are covered with some type of oil used in the processing of the knives. This oil adheres to everything your hand and clothing etc. My question what type of bath can be used to remove this oil? Thank you WD.

I purchased an ET510 Borescope and it’s broken out of the box
(bad Battery) under warranty but it’s a discounted model so they won’t support it and I can’t find any help. The online support just keeps passing you around.
      Thanks Klein
      Best regards

I purchased a adjustable hole saw at the home depot to put in some 6in can lights in my kitchen.I was not happy with the tool performance,I only got to the third hole(dry wall) the guide drill broke and the cutter blades were dull. The allen wrench broke in my hand when I tried to adjust the blades from 7in to 6in.I have a lot of kline tools this tool should not carry the kline name. One good thing the dust collector worked great, what should I do with your tool.Finished the project with a 6in hole saw.
    Respectfully Joe Bretz
