Taco Time was founded by Ron Fraedrick, in 1959 in Eugene, Oregon. Fraedrick took out a second mortgage on his home and borrowed an additional $5,000 to get started. His idea for a walk-up taco stand near the university was very successful.
The first franchise was located in Tacoma, Washington, in 1962. Over the next decade, the company grew rapidly and by the end of the 1960s, there were 48 locations in 7 western states. Today, Taco Time has more than 300 franchised locations in the US, as well as international locations in Canada, Kuwait, and the Netherlands.
The company was purchased by Kahala Brands in 2003 and headquarters were moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Taco Time features the usual tacos and other Mexican-style foods, such as nachos, but the company also offers a unique crispy burrito and salads to its menu that most casual Mexican food chains do not offer.
In February 2023, Ontario, Canada’s, biggest Taco Time location closed permanently after 30 years in business.
In June 2023, some Taco Time locations stopped accepting cash as a means of payment.
Taco Tim maintains a corporate office in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Came from Laughlin to Vegas for my favorite crisp bean burrito. Well what a disappointment. The tortilla that used to be crispy and delicious was horrible. Not the same!!!! AND it was 5.19 for God sake. What a rip. Tacos different too. Shell tasted different, hardly any cheese or lettuce and 3.39. Better taco at Del Taco for .89
Will not be back

I went to the Taco Time in Salem, OR. There was no one else in the restaurant or in drive up, now I know why. I placed my order and was told it would be a few minutes as they had to cook the mexi fries. I thought good fresh tots with warm melted cheese. I had to take the ordered to go. When I got home, about 4 minutes away, and opened the container to my surprise the tots were cooled. There were only about 10 tots and I had ordered a large and the cheese was very limited and not melted. I won’t be going back again.

I can never place my order using your app. I wanted to order 2 crispy taco meal today. I had to go through everything on the list but the list look likes it’s for burrito not crispy taco. If I skip one it won’t allow me to place my order. I ended up closing the app out of frustration. This is the 2nd times I’ve try to order from the app. What’s the use if I can’t order what I want on the app?! Thanks for taking the time to read my complain. Have a nice day!

Regarding Taco Time in Wallingford: In a word: NASTY! We started to come through the back door, which is the kitchen, and it is filthy. The front door and windows were greasy and dirty.
We ordered a combo shrimp meal and a combo taco meal. Could not eat the shrimp tacos as they were disgusting (measly quantity of cabbage and way overcooked shrimp – see photo). Beef tacos had absolutely no flavor as they “forgot to put the sauce on them”. The potato tots were cold, the soda was flat and the iced tea tasted like chemicals. The only positive in the whole experience was the cashier who was friendly. When we asked for a side order of chips, we were told it would be 69 cents for 8 chips. They count the chips??? Since we couldn’t eat the food there, we went to Kidd Valley and had fish and chips which were excellent!
We would like a refund of the $23.54 we paid for inedible food or a credit for another Taco Time location.

jehaines@ comcast.net. My wife and I have been customers of Taco Time for many years until we moved to League City, TX, the fastest growing city in the south. There is a definite need for a Taco Time store in League City to service this rapidly growing area. We are hoping will put a store in League City in the immediate future. I am sure it will do well from a business standpoint.
Thanks

Simple and to the point! The Cilantro Lime Bowl is the best menu Item in the history of Taco Time, please keep it on the menu as a regular, full time option. It a generally healthy option that is far superior than any comparable alternatives at other restaurants at any price. I hope you are getting similar feedback from other customers, My local Taco Time restaurant in Utah frequently runs out of the ingredients to make them because demand has been so high.
Regards,
Eric

My fiancé and I just went to the Taco Time in Clinton Utah. We just wanted to say how excellent of service we just received from the lovely individual at the drive thru. We have never been given such awesome service and wanted to make sure he got the recognition he deserves. His name was Oaklen, and because of Oaklen Taco Time is now our favorite place to eat.

Hi,
I wanted to make sure I mentioned something about a taco time I go to consistently. There is a young gal that hard to work the cashier area in the lobby for the taco time located in Winnemucca, NV. I believe the gals name was Alice or Alyssa or maybe even Allison but every time I went in to order she had a bright attitude and a very welcoming vibe. I always saw her bust her butt but when she would ask for help when it came to an unsurity of how to ring something up or even asking for help when it came to making milkshakes and such the staff members were very very nasty and rude. I am astonished because she is always working. I go in three times a week for the food there and I must say she gets some bad attitude from everyone and I always request her to ring me up cause she knows what I want. I was morally appalled at how the manager whose name is Hortencia called her some names I will not repeat at this time and how she was talked down too. This girl has had tears in her eyes a couple of times afterward but turned around and continued her day with a bright attitude and not letting it affect her. I came to find out that she was fired recently for an honestly stupid reason. I asked where she was and was told she was a no call no show and that she was very dramatic at work one night. I have never seen this girl miss a day of work and am quite sad she is gone.
I wanted to let you know that people are rude, immoral and give attitude to other employees for asking. A clarifying question. I no longer will go to the taco time here in Winnemucca cause I am disgusted with how the main manager Hortencia and her daughter Deya talk down to the other employees and speak Spanish while using others names and I speak Spanish fluently so some of the things they say are extremely vile and very uncalled for and rude. It disgusts me actually.
