Polly’s Pies was founded in 1968 in Fullerton, California, by brothers Don and Ed Sheldrake. The name Polly’s was used because the first location had front door handles which were shaped like the letter P. Rather than buy new door handles, the brothers decided to simply make a company name that suited it. Polly was the name of the manager’s newborn daughter. The original name was Polly’s Tasty Food and Pies, but this was later shortened to simply Polly’s Pies.
The company operates a chain of restaurants whose focus is pies. The company currently has 16 locations, all in California, along with 14 KFC franchises. Polly’s Pies also offers hamburgers, sandwiches, coleslaw, salads, and, of course, pies.
Polly’s Pies differs from many other similar restaurants in that almost everything is made by hand with fresh ingredients. The company offers a gluten free menu, as well as weekly specials and online coupons.

Just a note to recommend bringing back the ollaberry Muffins to Polly’s.
I used to purchase 2 to 4 dozen ollaberry muffins each year when they came into season.
They stopped making them when the berry became rare. But, they still made the pies. One ollaberry pie could make at least 8 to 10 muffins, I feel it’s time to change the policy regarding ollaberry muffins.

A friend & I stopped for breakfast today at Pollys on Main St, Santa Ana. The food was great & so was the service. I love your nice family restaurants & have eaten many times at the Fullerton location. Happy you will be able to stay there.

Sunday Breakfast was a NIGHTMARE at the Orange location on Tustin Avenue. We sat down to a sticky table, the waitress brought us the wrong order then argued it was the kitchen’s fault, SHE DELIVERED SAUSAGE INSTEAD OF BACON, AND THE 2 OF US ORDERED THE SAME THING. I GOT A BIG PILE OF 2 EGGS AND THE OTHER PLATE HAD BARELY A SPOON FULL,,, THE DINGBAT WAITRESS DID NOT LOOK AT THE PLATES , BUT SHE WAS UPSET THE KITCHEN LET HER DOWN,, WHAQT ABOUT HOW SHE LET “US” DOWN HUMMMM ???? she mis-filled our Decaf coffee with regular coffee twice, we asked what kind of sugar free pies they had in stock and she said 2 types,, we had to ask WHAT TYPE, she replied apple and banberry,,, we asked for a berry pie to be held for us and add it to out check when we were still eating,,, the waitress brought us 2 slices of pie in a small container, she then asked if we wanted the whole pie “to go”…. what an idiot !! and she did not speak correctly in ENGLISH,,,, this is AMERICA, we speak ENGLISH, we ordered a WHOLE PIE TO GO OF COURSE !!! no brains, no help,, we wont go back ! THE MANAGER SAID HE WAS SORRY AND GAVE US 1 SLICE OF PIE, WE DID NOT ASK FOR A SLICE OF PIE,, WHAT WE ASKED FOR WAS ‘TRAINING’ FOR THE WAITRESS,,, WHAT A FARCE THIS LOCATION HAS BECOME,,, WE WILL GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION,,, ORANGE HAS PROBLEMS

I go to the Norco location, and often order pies for pick up. This last time was just a train wreck. I was told that they don’t hold pies. I’ve been ordering pies, 2-4 per month for years! The manager would not even time to take my call when I asked to speak to a manager. I’m going to order online to get my pie.
On another topic. I HATE the tableware service! I feel like I’m going to eat hospital food with the set up in the bag. The bag also reminds me of the bags they used to put in restrooms for disposing of tampons. Just giving you my honest opinion.

This is my last time *attempting* to order pies at the Santa Ana location. Let me start off by saying that the service is the worst I have ever seen. This is the fourth time that i order pies and something goes wrong. The first two times I ordered through your online ordering service. Those two times that I went to pick them up, the employees there told me that for some reason they didn’t have my pies, but that they would have them ready in five minutes. 20 minutes pass by and they FINALLY have my pies. This happened twice!! Okay, I really like the pies so I orgave those two incidents. The third time I, once again, order online. I go to pick up my pies and, guess what? They said I had already picked them up! Excuse me? Then they said that they were taking my word for it and making more pies! I was so shocked at the way that they responded. Well I decided to complain to them because this was the third time. They told me that the next time that I ordered I should call after ordering to check if they even have pies…! What?! So I ordered again today and this time I didn’t pay before hand because I didn’t want that happening to me again. I call And place my order for 6:45. It’s 6:35 and I give them a call again lettin then know that I was going to be ten minutes late and guess what? They told me that I had never ordered pies with them. Unbelievable. They then placed me on hold to talk to the manager for a total of 20 minutes!!! Then they hang up on me. I called again and let them know I was going to call corporate because the way that their treating customers is unacceptable.

Hello we frequently eat at the Polly’s location in Orange. And we often pick up pies to take home to enjoy. Just purchased an Apricot/Cherry one of your new flavors. It was wonderful! We loved it! Yesterday I bought an Ollalaberry pie; it looked very good, but did not compare to the Apricot / Cherry.
Please make your Apricot/Cherry one of your permanent selections!!
Thank you!

Just left the Moreno Valley store. For what it’s worth your food is great. Really wanted some turkey chili today for lunch.
That being said the greeting at the door was well, there wasn’t one. I’m not complaining about the poor girl running between the register and the hostess position. Saw two girls going on break and have no idea what where the manager or assistant manager was. But it would seem to me the lunch hour is a busy time. So maybe some extra staff.
The whole east side of your business had what looked liked 5 empty tables but there were at least 4 parties waiting for a hostess. Not a hello be right with you or taking or name until the poor girl at register was done. Well don’t worry we went to BJ’s across the street. Probably won’t be back to this pollys for awhile at least not at lbtealfast lunch or dinner time. I don’t like to wait but I really don’t like being ignored because you don’t hire enough staff.

To the CEO of Polly’s Mr. Don Sheldrake:
I am very amazed & perturbed about the decision your advertising or marketing department made!
The “stupid decision” seemed to have overshadowed the desire of your customers to have a napkin with the silverware. The needs of the customers who made you keep opened all these years. Your staff told me that they told you about the complaints on putting the silverware without a napkin inside a long piece of advertising bag pushing your agenda and shoving it to the mouth of your customers to buy your pie? Is that necessary? YOU told your staff to put the silverware inside the bag and without the napkin. The waitress forgets to give napkins to us today. Here are the good reasons why I am very upset:
1) It is a waste of time and efforts to keep your customers to have napkins when it is needed! I had to ask for the napkins. Actually, I had to get it myself!
2) Your staff had to spend time putting the silverware in this stupid long skinny bag and then separately get the napkins for the customers! This is a double time work! It is not necessary! Waste of time!
3) It leaves the customer without a napkin. I had to get my napkin from the tray by the entrance.
4) It is so stupid to advertise in such a very important time to eat without napkin.I had to stand up and get the napkin myself!!!!!!!!
5) It is a waste of money to get that bag printed instead of giving your customers what is needed, napkins. Perhaps you could have offered a 5% discount if we buy a pie. This is more of a rewarding method to offer your customers. This is showing your appreciation if you offer a small discount instead of this stupid bag… Pushing the pie to our mouth.

I used to go to the Santa Ana store a lot at least twice a week. In the last year I can see the store going down hill. The food is not that good anymore and the store its self is really dirty and dusted, its like no one cleans. The counters are disgusting. the floor always has old food on it. the window seals are dusty, its really bad. The health department should be called. I hardly ever see managers on the floor and there is always new ones. We wont go back unless there is a difference. we will drive all the way downtown to black bear diner instead.

Went to the polly tonight for dinner and won’t be going back there again. The service was very slow and not at all friendly. My husband and I had the pick 4 dinner. I had a salad and half a sandwich and so did he. It should have been 12.99 but instead it was over $17.00. I ask the man at the counter but he said they don’t do that any more…had a attitude that I didn’t appreciate. Used to like the place. Good for seniors but not anymore. There are plenty more places to eat in hemet but it sure won’t be polly s for us.

Hello, I want to start by saying I love Pollys Pies, my family and I have been eating at your restraunts for years and love your food and pies. However this time I must tell you I stopped at one while I was visiting HB california for the first time and this one I went to on Adams and Brookhurst was Horrible. The carpet was very dirty, not even vaXXXXned. The rest rooms were dirty, and the place is in desperate need of a remodle, but the worst part was DEAD Flies all over the window seats, it was disgusting the health dept. will be getting a call from me, this place needs to be made over and get new house keepers. but your other Pollys on Main Street in the Santa Ana Ca area off the 5 fwy on my way home was Beautiful and food still grreat, and clean clean clean. Please help HB Pollys for all the seniors that I noticed that go there too. I know most of the world doesnt care about our senior community, the manager there surely did not seem to care at all but please help them. They did have some nice young girls staff there they were nice, one cashier named elizabeth I think and one waitress named Kristen, they were great!!!!!

My wife and I have been eating a Polly’s for many years. Mostly at the Yorba linda and Fullerton stores. We find the service and quality of food is excellent. We now reside in Hemet and have frequented the Hemet store. Last night we went to Polly’s for dinner, our experience was terrible. My wife ordered the light chicken dinner, after waiting 10 min. our waitress said it would be 30 min. before the chicken was done, so she ordered the scampi, which turned out to very smelly and tough. The waitress then brought two thighs that were old and greasy. My wife then ordered the chicken pie which was acceptable. I ordered the turkey meat loaf and could only eat half of it due to it being very dry and old tasting. The manager (Mike) did not even say he was sorry for the poor experience.
The waitress was very gracious and tried hard to please.
We are very disappointed in the quality of the food lately, and will not frequent this location again!

Today June 17, 2017 I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant and it happened to be at Polly’s Pie in Los Alamitos, CA. The service at our table personally was terrible looking around at other tables ours lacked service. To end our experience at Polly’s my boyfriend and I got double charged, so we went back to the restaurant to talk to the manager to see if we could get refunded. Manager was no help what so ever he checked “his system” he said we didn’t get double charged even though we had our receipts and bank account charges. We asked to get a copy of what he had and refused to give us that information he didn’t bother to pull us aside to talk privately, or bother to apologize. Instead he said he didn’t want drama or a line at his restaurant. Definitely didn’t feel welcomed at this restaurant maybe because we didn’t look like everyone else, but you should never be prejudice towards anyone. It was an uncomfortable situation and I hope no one ever goes through this terrible experience.

I am one of the originals that ate at the location on Raymond Avenue in Fullerton minute it first opened. Today my experience with your organization changed. I went into the Main St., Santana store where I literally was the only person waiting for a table. I was not at knowledged when I walked in the door although there was I contact . I literally asked the gentleman that work there if he could see me and he said no I’m just the server. That really made me angry. After being seated after a long wait , 10 minutes and again the only person waiting for a table. I sat at my table for an additional 10 minutes without getting service. I left Upon leaving I said something to the manager who is apologetic but had a very bad attitude. I take it that this is an isolated incident because I’ve eaten here several times before and I’ve been satisfied. Your customer service today was way below what I’ve experienced over the years
