Recently, this past year with all the horrible experiences of Covid, Perkins has been a godsend in that when “wifi” was NOT working in the house, I went there and a few other coffee shops to do my work – I’m a teacher. Unfortunately, mid-February was in the location in Collierville, and one of the servers stated, “it’s time for you to leave.” I was ALREADY packing up my things and had only been there about one hour and 45 minutes. I was highly offended by her comments and told the Store Manager, he just listened and did NOTHING. Moreover, in the last 2 weeks when I go there, they turn the A/C down extremely low – am sure you are going to love the electric bill. I don’t usually stay more than 2 hours and have an exorbitant amount of work to do teaching, and often the internet is NOT working in the home. You have some LOVELY people working there, they are Ann Marie, Lancey, Natalie, and Elliott. I’ve been a Perkins customer for more than 25 years, I’m truly disappointed at the way some of your people talk to their customers. I worked in Customer Service with Holiday Inns, Inc, Teledyne and other places 25 years ago, we did NOT talk to our customers in a disrespectful way.

The Salina KS store is a brand new beautiful store less then 3 years old. My family has eaten there 3 times. Each times it takes a century to get seated and our meals consistently take 45+mins to get. The restrooms stink of urine and look like they haven’t been serviced in awhile. EVERYTIME we go the ladies restroom has been out of soap. Recently my daughter has gotten a job there and said that all the cooks do is smoke pot on the line and make rude and disgusting jokes, some racial some sexist. She also says that the bakery items are always out, constantly running out of product and menu items and can’t keep employees because the kitchen manager is always running people off. This location is amazing and has so much potential but it seems clear to everyone who is brave enough to try and eat there that the management doesn’t care

Went to this place again against my MUCH better judgment…HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE last night 3/31/21. The African American lady/man … not sure and did not want to offend… asked us to move from our table because there was not a server to wait on us literally 5 seconds away from other guest. She desired us to sit closer to the filthy entrance by the kitchen. We have been here several times NEVER leaving satisfied. Baring this establishment because in this part of Lehigh, there are no other restaurants. In the past I asked the server to sit in an area where i did not smell the absolutely atrocious stinking carpet because each time we sat closer to the door, i could barly keep my food down. I am changing my review today because, that person then ran to the manager to complain that we the customer did not want to sit where she decided to put us. We have FINALLY decided to NEVER even think about stopping at this location ever, ever again. So thank you for helping us realize we so deserve to take the longer trip into Fort Myers, Bonita etc to have a decent meal and top notch service. Sometimes it takes being treated like garbage for you to realize what you truly deserve and then YOU MUST ACT ON IT. I actually have some friends in very high places and i will follow through in making some calls about the treatment we received. There are so many reviews about how bad your service is, at this point the last thing you should be doing is discouraging customers. Best believe I WILL follow through !!! Also PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE… change that carpet !!!

Received an email on 6/14/20 concerning pie Monday. The email said free slice of pie with purchase of regular priced adult entree’ from 11:00a.m.-8:00p.m. I called the Mt. Dora Fl located at 17080 Hwy 441. Which is the closest location and the one I visit to my home! I called on 6/15/20 to place a to go order and was told that the free slice of pie with the two adult entree’s would only be honored with dine in only. No where on the email does it state that and still have the entire email. The person taking the order when I told her about the email said she would ask the manager and came back on the phone and stated he said no dine in only! I canceled the order and later found out that location is franchised. Regardless we are in the middle of COVID-19 and Florida cases increased today in the triple digits!! So not to honor a slice of pie ……. I won’t be going back!!! What a shame when people are going through a crisis such as we are world wide and there are people running businesses like that! People trying to find work and then we have that person that has no professional skills whatsoever! I know it was only 2 slices of pie but with the state of everything going on treating your customers like they were important well perhaps some management training is needed there!!! I hope Perkins Corporate will take notice of this!!!!!

I visited your restaurant in Stroudsburg, Pa. this morning and I ordered your eggs benedict and they were awful they used to be very good now i’m sick from them, you should have left them with the canadian bacon instead of switching to rolled up boiled ham so from now i will never eat there again. I will be looking for a new restaurant for breakfast from now on. You lost some customers.

I stopped by the Duluth Mn Perkins to pick up some of those pies that were advertised for 10.00! Then I was told that there restraunt don’t honor that! I think that’s totally false advertising! Very disappointed, and telling others about it!

My husband and I went to Perkins in Ashland, Ohio. As we pulled in we saw a man, which looked like a cook and a women with a blue shirt on, outside smoking( no biggie) when we parked and came in, that women seated us, she smelled like Marijuana. Her eyes were red and glassy. And by the way her name tag said, Sadie. A waitress came over to take our order very nice and professional her name was Kayla. Well our food was not the best, our waitress Kayla apologized and tried to replace it, but we said no it was ok. She felt really bad about it. As we were checking out, that women in blue shirt gave us back the incorrect change and when my husband said something to her about it, she laughed and said we can always go eat at Bob Evans. I feel that was very unprofessional of her and I believe that the higher ups should know what this women is all about! We asked to speak to the Manager and her reply was, Iam the Manager. Well needless to say, we WONT be back!

Tonight I took my parents to the Sandusky Perkins Restaurant. They are 86 & 89. What a terrible experience! The service was slow even though there were only a half dozen tables. The food was mediocre at best. My parents ordered breakfast. Hash browns were not brown, no taste. How can you in good conscience charge $5.58 for 2 cups of coffee?? $2.49 for an order of toast?! Our bill was $48.60 for 3 people, and I’ve had much better food for half the price. Needless to say Perkins is off our list from now on, and we’ll be sure to share our experience with our family and friends. Shame on you!
Concerned Spouse says
To Whom it may concern:
I am the spouse of a Perkins General Manager. I was excited at first when this job came up; but now, I am disappointed.
My spouse has been in this position for almost 2 years. It started out great. My spouse worked hard to get a store in the red back into the green. After a year of hard work; it paid off. Unfortunately; during this time; my spouse has had to deal with turnover of not only kitchen and wait staff; but the turnover of associate managers.
My spouse is holding this particular Perkins store up by three corners. As a result, there is not work-life balance. My spouse has considerably aged this past almost two years. My spouse works at a minimum of 60 hours per week, but lately, 70 hours seems to be the norm. I have lost track of the last time it was that my and my spouse slept in the same bed, or had a meal together. I am left to support our 4 children emotionally while my spouse tries to hold down the store. A simple Valentines dinner? That turned into my spouse getting a phone call as we put dinner in the oven. Back to work my spouse had to go. Meanwhile; when my spouse asks the question about getting an Associate Manger to help out; the answer is, “you have to be patient.”
Meanwhile, the employees at this particular store complain because they don’t get any time off because of scheduling. Then, the Regional Manager comes back to my spouse and says, “your employees need time off.” OK great Perkins, so my spouse should now work 80 hours a week so others can have a great work-life balance? Then when my spouse asks for time off, the answer is, “You just have to get us thru such and such (the next big event). I can’t tell you how many weddings, funerals, graduations my spouse has missed because there is not one to help out at the restaurant. Not to mention the fact that my spouse has not been to the doctor in about two years, because there has not been anytime. My spouse is luck to get even one day off per week. Many times, it’s only a partial day here and there.
Not only are me and my family starting to resent my spouse (their parent/step-parent) we are starting to resent Perkins. So, I ask you this Perkins, is this the norm? Working your Managers until they are dead? Because that will happen. My spouse has dozed off at the wheel several times while driving home; not to mention the times I have had to go pick up my spouse because of fatigue. My spouse has actually had to sleep in a booth at the restaurant because of the crappy hours that need to be covered. Again, I ask you, Perkins; is this the norm? Because if it’s not the norm, you need to figure out how to fix this not only for work-life-balance and employee satisfaction and retention; but for the good of my family.
Regards,

We just had dinner at perkins restaurant located at lansdowne Avenue Drexel’s hill Pennsylvania. Very poor experience mice running around dining area told manager no response should have left immediately but was seated another area. So sorry we stayed waitresses was pleasant but apron and attire was so dirty. Order was not correct but we were afraid what could be done if sent it back . Management gave us 20 percent off but was rude. I am looking into board of health rodents should not be running around in a crowded environment. Please look into this site.

My husband and I eat out a lot, we used to go to the New Castle, PA Perkins every week, sometimes two times a week. We stopped going due to the price increase and the untrained cooks. We went there this morning for breakfast, my husband is from the South and likes gravy on everything which is what he ordered. He asked for his hash browns to be almost burnt, they were actually raw inside. We had a coupon, our waitress was very patronizing, and whispered a lot to the other waitress’s, also whispered to the manager who laughed along with 3 other waitress’s about my husband. When I told the waitress who checked us out that we would not be back, they gave my husband back his breakfast money. How about treating people with respect and humanity! We won’t be back and we will let our friends know what to expect. Even with all that we still left a tip for that waitress.

Yesterday we ate at the Perkins in Apalachin, NY. It was a very poor experience. We waited 45 min. to an hour for meals. I had the roast beef with au jus and I’ve never been served such a disappointing meal! The meat was so overcooked the edges were burned and the au jus had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I don’t like to complain but if we hadn’t already waited so long, I would have sent my meal back. We won’t be returning to Perkins.

Gentlemen:
I believe that there is a great business opportunity for you to open a new Perkins Restaurant here in the Apollo Beach area located in the southern section of Hillsborough County, Florida. This area of Hillsborough County is one of the fastest growing residential area in the State of Florida, and there is commercial building space readily available for almost immediate occupancy. Please consider reviewing our area for one of your new stores!

Bruce, You should read the reviews from people who really had a lot to say about the very bad experiences they’ve had eating at Perkins. It’s sad because the CEO, CFO, and the COO obviously don’t read the reviews and don’t care if they do read them. Try to get a Village Inn. You’ll be so much happier.

Your website is the worst. I contacted it yesterday and have been at it for 12 hours trying to 1. Join your eclub for the 20% discount
2. Print a coupon for a free birthday breakfast for today
to no avail. Even went to coupons and tried that route. Still nothing. Finally I called the restaurant only to be told you would send one out in a week. Well, that won’t work with a mail strike on. I give up and I don’t want to take my son there now for his birthday. Maybe we’ll just go someplace else.

I am very disgusted at the perkins in council bluffs, IA. My wife and I were there on 21st of May. for dinner and it took 50 minutes to get our food. There was only one waitress and the manager trying to take orders, and was also told by manager that there was only one cook, and she said that the cook has only been here 8 months. I am sorry but if the cook has been here that long they should be able to handle a dinner rush.

Perkins does not care about their customers. I used to eat at their various locations weekly. April 10, 2018 I was at the Austintown, OH location on Interstate Blvd. The food made me ill within one hour of eating, the service was horrible, the management was terrible as they did nothing to correct or resolve any of the issues, the renovation crew was vulgar and rude…. I spent $45 for my family to eat on this particular day.. I complained while there, after being ill, and various complaints filed but NO ONE has done anything to resolve

Ate at store #17080 in Mt. Dora Fl. and while wearing a t-shirt in support of Israel the fire alarm goes off i also had on a hat in support of the unit i served in Iraq and there were other veterans in the restaurant as well so either it’s antisemitism or disrespect of those who fought for their freedoms either way Israel bashing is over with and this restaurant should be put on notice that it wont be tolerated and if they don’t like veterans they need to close because there’s a good many of us in Florida. Because there was more veterans in there it would seem that the restaurant engaged in antisemitic behavior, either way the place should be shut down but i would be naive to think anything is going to happen except me not going there to eat anymore but i will file a complaint with the anti defamation league.

My son got a Big country smash which was also cold and had a whole bag of tater tots on his plate we waited over 25 min. for this order. While waiting the girls were spraying window cleaner on the windows while people were eating and another girl was running the vacuum all this while we were eating how rude. I asked for the manager he came out from the kitchen and asked what do you need I asked if it was customary to be cleaning windows and vacuuming while people are eating. He never answered me I said I was in here when it first opened and said i would never be back, well i know for sure i’ll never be back.He turned around and walked away. When we went to pay the bill he said nothing not even have a good day, We did not leave a tip either. I just can not believe how cold and rude the staff was and not only to us but to other customers to. I will make sure my friends know how this place operates. Darlene hired a a girl her name is Michelle Shell thought it wasn’t fair that she would have to go straight to nights by going into management so Darlene has rotated her and check every other two weeks nights and days Michelle is a good asset to the company and Chuck has done this for other people in the past getting back to me I feel like I’ve been abused and violated with this matter I I am meeting the general manager at 4 o’clock today to tell her about this and I’m sure she will share that with her district manager Bob Chuck has been a good asset to the company also but I want him heavily reprimanded to let him know that it is against the law to physically assault another human being and it is wrong for what he has done my test has come back benign at this time I don’t know what to think about this matter or what to do about it based on some of the things Chuck has said to me in the past months tells me that he’s very unhappy with Darlene’s decision and we have been through a lot of general managers at the store so I’m just wondering if Chuck has something to do with that i’m asking for you to please pay attention to some of these comments coming from the people that work the little management because management can be wrong too please and thank you

I have never been to such a dump. This location has nothing, for staff none food pre-made Ham and Cheese on a sub bun at least a week or more old. this was all there was to pick from for food, Coffee was so bad You could not drink it.
The only good thing was lots of parking, This is not a Truck Stop that I will ever be stopping at again.
For such a Company that has great service across the USA, Then this place +has to make a bad Name for them. It sucks big time. As a Trucker’ I would rather go to Tim Horton’s Than stop at this truck stop. I hope the Head Office will send someone out to look this place over. At 1:45 pm mid day on a Friday there was no-one in the restaurant to service anyone. One gets better service at the corner store!!

i ‘m the presdent of city council in Conneaut Ohio and glad that perkins resturant is in our community. However what i’m not pleased with is the parking lot. I just got off the phone with
‘ unique ventures ” in Erie PA and they said their is nothing they could do because it is being sold. Some of the holes are 7 to 8 inches deep and 3 to 5 feet wide. I say to you this is how you treat your customers? Many nice cars and older people come to perkins everyday . Myself , I go 5 times a week. To hire someone to just fill the holes not pave the lot would be nice. but to do nothing is absurd. The management and all who work at the perkins in Conneaut are a dynamic group of people.. I would like to hear from somebody about this problem. people have almost fallen and we have had some near misses with automobile accidents as people try and drive around the deep holes .
Thank You

When I did get a person, I asked if she was busy,, & she said, No…..? I was trying to order Fried shrimp dinner to go, & was put on hold, 4 ever! I gave up & hung up…My whole family & friends eat there frequently, & we also buy the Silk pies for Birthdays, ect. WHo ever ids managing, there…needs to sharpen up on their Customer Service…We all live next door to them in a 2,000 acre Senior Citizen complex, Jamaica Bay & the Business potential, is great for them. I can’t understand why they are sooo lazidazical? ike I saitill drives, too, but has to be on a walker to get to the front door, ect.She ws ordering her meal to go, & was told she had to come inside. She may not have told the gal, she was disabled, that’s the only thing I can think of…But a little talk w/employees would both benefit their Business, & in turn, your fees & reputations. A little bit goes a long way. I’d suggest they even advertise in our Monthy booklet, & give us Jamaica Bay year rounders a discount, from time to time. & I’ll tell you this, they should also include for the disabled,we will bring it to your car@Front Door.It has plenty room, not to block traffic. I hope this helps.
