Originally founded as Dunham’s Bait and Tackle in 1937 by Ron Dunham, this Troy, Michigan, based sporting goods company began when Dunham asked his wife to try to sell a bathtub full of minnows on the side of a highway for bait. When Ron returned, Ethyl had made $18. From a humble beginning of selling bait, this company has grown to become one of the largest chains of its kind in the Midwest.
After their son died in the Korean war in 1953, the couple lost interest in the business and sold it to Ben Hardesty and two of his business partners, who sold sporting goods in New York. Hardesty wanted to keep the name because he believed it already had a good reputation behind it.
Today, Dunham’s Sports has more than 230 locations in 22 states. The original store burned to the ground in 1946, but the company simply rebuilt a larger store.
In June 2023, an employee allegedly sold a gun meant for a convicted felon who later used it to commit murder.
The company specializes in all types of athletic equipment and gear, footwear, clothing, firearms, and digital guides. Dunham’s Sports has 2,000 full-time employees and annual revenue in 2013 of $140.7 million.

I was shopping at your store location in Battle Creek, Michigan to have 3 Co2 tanks filled. I received the receipt to have the 3 tanks filled at 12:53 pm on 07/26/2021. The employee then filled two tanks and told me the machine had to rest because it freezes over. He told it would be 15 minutes. I waited for over an hour and the one tank still was not filled. While waiting, he was using vulgar language with other employees, including the manager. He then proceeded to look at amd not even acknowledging that I was a customer patiently waiting. I already paid for these items, may I remind you. Two of his buddies then came in 45 minutes after I’ve been waiting to buy two guns. Alright cool, now he’ll walk by the tanks and check to see if it’s ready to go. Nope, he walked straight to his friends and starting talking to them about the movies and filling out paperwork. As still patiently waiting, he looked me dead in the eyes and said nothing. He told another employee that he set a timer, in which he did not because I was there the entire time. I then became impatient so I took my 3 tanks (one still not filled) and walked to the front counter where I wanted to speak to the Manager. While addressing my issues to the manager, she was very rude as if I wasn’t a paying customer because all I had was Co2 tanks being filed. They were more important because they were buying guns.
This is not the first time I’ve had trouble with this location and the employees/ manager. I will not return to this location and I will no longer give Dunhams my business.

I bought a SPORTS AFIELD 30+4 gun safe. Model SA30DBF. Got it home and noticed the corner of the box had been cut then very neatly taped with clear packing tape, hardly noticeable. 2 of the 3 handle are missing and one of the adjustable gun rack pieces is cracked. Called Dunhams on Dixie twice 1st call lasted 28 seconds because after saying she would transfer me, it hung up – maybe not her fault. 2nd call got me transfered to the safe/firearms area, I listened to the beep for 43 minutes and 48 seconds then got hung up on again. I will gladly raise my rating from a 1 if A) they answer my call and B) correct the issue of missing and broken parts… without having me load that heavy safe back in my truck to return it completely. Come on Dunhams – Help A Brother Out…. HABO!!!

Today my boyfriend and I went to Dunham’s in Warren Michigan at the hoover 11 plaza. I went to the gun department to purchase a pistol. The worker was busy with another customer but was very polite and went to go get someone else to help us. We waited 20 minutes while the guy that was supposed to be helping us chatted with another employee then with an attitude finally asked us what we wanted. As I was filling out the paperwork he asked my boyfriend if he was also purchasing a gun and my boyfriend told him no that he has a misdemeanor charge from 8 years ago and couldn’t get his CPL license until November of 2021 and was going to wait until then. the guy told him it doesn’t matter if you have a CPL license or not you can still purchase a gun but since he’s got a misdemeanor he will never as long as he lives be able to purchase a gun in his name I proceeded to tell him what the papers from the court stated, he with an attitude told me it’s not true and asked if I lived in the same household as my boyfriend. when I replied yes he snatched my paperwork, ripped it up and told me he could not sell me a gun. when leaving I turned back around came back in and asked to speak to a manager. by my surprise that a****** who I believe was named John (white guy, with a beard, glasses and no mask on) walked up, i asked him how does my protection have anything to do with somebody else who lives in my household that doesn’t even have the same last name as me, how does it affect someone who has their CPL license and has never had trouble with the law, and told him if my boyfriend wouldn’t have said anything he would have never even knew. Told him he probably sells guns to drug dealers, gangsters and murders all the time while I’m there to get one for protection, he told me he could care less about my CPL license and that I will never be able to buy a gun as long as I have the same address as my boyfriend. told me to buy a gun on the black market. rude rude rude rude rude did not try to even help me, did not care to listen to what I was saying, did not care to properly explain things. Talked to us like we were stupid, treated us like we were children and acted like he hated his job. How do I complain to the people higher up from ride manager guy?

The company is a JOKE!!!! Treats employees like sh*t, rewards bad ones and punishes and treats good ones like a$$. The upper management is lazy and doesn’t do a damn thing except take credit for good work and blames bad work on everyone but themselves. They follow around any color skin besides white people and are very racists and harassment is high. If your a chick and flirt with the upper management then you will succeed in the company. But if you don’t a$$ kiss and take crap from people you won’t. Baxter MN is laughable and the GM Tim and his boss Jeremy (I think thats his name) seem like they only come out of office to walk around and harass the employees actually working or praise the lazy employees while others work hard and get scolded. I feel bad for the 2 guys at gun counter, ones balder and one has tattoo on neck, they are amazing customer service and very knowledgeable. Also seem to always be working as well as the native chick in footwear area (Ashley I believe). Those 3 are the only reason I and many others go back there. Love the customer service and care they give us unlike the rest who talk down to us and dont give a sh*t. Were just another dollar to them. If I was the CEO I would clean house in Baxter MN and start with the 2 guys and Ashley. Sad that people get put in management positions and they are super lazy and don’t work but other people give their all and you can tell they love what they do but do to the harassment, discrimination, sexism, racists, and just plain bully attitude of the higher ups the good employees who make waiting longer in lins or other issues, not an issue because they take time to assists in many ways and care end up leaving or being let go over bullsh*t.

My name is Nathaniel R Saunders, went to Dunham sports in Roseville Mi to buy a firearm to protect my family. I started the application, and half way through the application the saleman rudely grap the application and said aI made a mistake and if a make a another, cannot another application out, so what that meant to me, there is no way I chance for firearm. The saleman name is Nicholas Whitt. People need to understand you can’t not treat customers any kind of way.

Purchased a baseball gear bag / backpack for my 6 year old granddaughter. The bag was a pink and black CP Clutch bag. Key word “WAS”. The bag didn’t last one season…it didn’t even last one month. It began shredding next to the zipper on one side. I had to use fabric glue to hold it together enough to get thru the game that evening and the next. The next evening the other side started doing the same thing. The bag had huge gaping holes on each side. I have purchased a variety of brands of bags over the years for kids of all ages and all of them have lasted for YEARS….not DAYS. I took the bag back to our local store (Vienna, WV) to get it exchanged for another bag. WOW!! Discovered that Dunhams does not stand behind the products they sell. The customer service is non-existent. Could not get my money back (even with a receipt), could not exchange for another bag, even the exact same brand and style of bag. NOTHING!!! Money down the drain. We have been frequent customers of Dunhams over the years but that will no longer be the case. We will never shop this store again. (or ANY Dunhams for that matter) It’s bad enough that defective products cannot be returned or exchanged but the clerk was rather rude about it.

Of course I look this morning and my card was charged twice! I called and asked to speak to a manager and that was about as helpful as calling the corporate office! There is a prompt after you dial the corporate phone number stating that due to covid-19 concerns they will not be reopening until after April 13th FYI it’s past April 13th! Very frustrating to have CV to jump through hoops just to get MY MONEY BACK! I will be waiting on my credit to my account and will he shopping elsewhere in the future!

Very disappointing since the sportsman in this town are a pretty close knit community and we were all looking forward to not have to travel to academy in tulsa anymore which is 40 miles away which I will gladly do from now on and this store is “”5 minutes from my house literally””

On 22 October, 2019, at approximately 1415 hours EDT, I went to Dunham’s Sports store #9213 in Rome, Georgia to purchase a pair of boots. I couldn’t find an associate to help, so I pulled out my cell phone and called the store. I asked the cashier that answered, if she’d send some help to the shoe department. I didn’t watch the clock, but listened to 2 full songs on the public address system, before I walked out, drove 30 miles to Academy and bought an $80 pair of boots.

The Sanford North Carolina Dunhams needs more disc golf and disc golf accessories . They hardly have any disc golf bags, disc golf catchers they only have one on the shelf . It’s like the only sports store around this area and disc golf is pretty big around the area. Frank says

I also totally agree with Mike. Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. If you want people to stop doing mass shootings etc then do a background check into mental health/illnesses etc. I can almost guarantee you every single one of those people had some sort of mental illness. Sane people don’t just kill without reason. So its not the guns fault and competent human beings shouldn’t. E denied their 2nd ammendment right to bear arms bc peoplw who know nothing about firearms are scared and think that guns have a mind of their own and go around shooting people on a whom with no psychotic human behind them pulling the trigger.

Hey loser, more crimes are committed with hand guns. You just chose those “scary looking rifles that the media talks about “ . They aren’t military either as they are not fully automatic. Get a grip powder puff, because by your logic we should ban cars because terrorists use them to run people down, Big Macs because they make people fat, and why not ban TV while we’re at it for contributing to the obesity rate as well. But we can’t ! Because it’s up to how an individual uses something ! Not the inanimate objects that can’t think. Go have another soy latte and calm down.

I won’t shop at this dump ever again. Don’t even bother trying to complain to corporate as they don’t care, use the power of your wallet and go elsewhere. I was harassed by a security guard due to coronavirus panic the store apparently has a policy where you have to wait on a red x until someone comes to help you in the gun department. Well, no one was even in the gun department and I made the holy sin of walking up to look in the display case. Screw you Dunhams ! You lost hundreds of dollars that day to a competitor and will never get my business again. Customers don’t appreciate being treated like perps by overzealous rent a cops.

I visited three of your stores in one day; Rocky Mount NC, Greenville NC, and Goldsboro, NC, looking for women’s white softball pants size small for my daughter. None of your stores had her size and some had no white pants period. However, there was a big disparity between girls and boys pants. Each store had hundreds of boys pants and only a handful of girls. In my opinion this is blatant discrimination against girls and is completely wrong for you to treat girls this way. This issued needs to be resolved

In today’s world when I can get an item on Amazon in 1-2 days why does it take over 2 weeks for a store to get an item shipped from one store to another. This is unsat.

I have never had such a horrible experience as I had at the store in Cleveland Tennessee. Nobody there knows a single thing about any of the products that they’ve got sitting on the shelf. I called the store and ask if they carried black hawk holsters for Glock 19‘s they told me they didn’t., just for the heck of it I went in the store to see because I was only a block away and they’re on the shelf low and behold are all kinds of Black Hawk holster’s even the one that I wanted. I had a little chat with the store manager about his people that he’s got working for him, I told him I was going to call corporate office and file a complaint against store his comment was I wish you wouldn’t do that it’s going to get my butt chewed out.

Purchased pair of jeans on 11/4 for $14.99. Needed a smaller size. On 11/11 I go back to exchange them. Was told I needed to pay $2.14 b/c they were $16.99 on 11/11. I paid but said I would not be back. Then get home to realize they had not removed the button thing. My husband goes back, I thought to get it removed, but he actually returned the pants and got the money back. He told 3 different people what happened when I had to pay more money, all said they had never heard of anything like this. When this happened on 11/11, I called back to store, spoke with Josh. Mgr that day. I told him I wanted to know where I could find this policy in writing. He couldn’t find it!!. $2.14 is not a lot of money, that’s not the point. I had my receipt, should have been even exchange. This was at the store in Burlington NC. But it sounds like this company has a lot of problems. We will not be going back, our money will go to Academy.

To whom it may concern Dunham’s, I went to Dunham’s in Hendersonville NC at 1800 Blue Ridge Mall at 2PM on Black Friday 11/23/18 to buy a small pistol for my wife for Christmas. The sale was to end at 3PM. Two of the employees were working on some paperwork behind the counter. One was having a discussion with a customer, who stood there several minutes then left. The clerk never asked me anything. They treated me like I was not there. Then three left the counter unattended. I waited until 2:40 PM { 40 minutes}. I ask who was the manager. “Rebecca” said she was. I said if I can not be waited on I would leave. She said FINE. I had a CWP and a written permit from the Sheriff. VERY RUDE STORE Paul

On 25 October 2018 I was told by Josh at the Jackson Dunham’s store that they would not process my paperwork to see if I would be flagged by NICS unless I agreed beforehand to purchase a firearm. The reason I wanted him to run a NICS check was because I routinely get flagged by the system and he had just told me that if NICS didn’t give them a response in three days that just because it is legal to sell me the firearm store policy is to NOT sell it to me unless they get a positive disposition. NICS routinely takes well beyond the three days and in the past Dunham’s has sold me the firearm after the three day wait, which, is fully legal and within their and my right. NICS is a mess and I have a CPL in the State of Michigan. I can go to any FFL in Michigan that specializes in firearms and walk right out the door with my purchase legally, usually, in less than an hour of deciding what I want to buy. Dunham’s is adding to the law instead of serving me as a customer, therefore, I will never set foot in their stores again. I am retired Army and served as Law Enforcement in Combat defending America. Dunham’s feels just fine about violating my 2nd Amendment rights.

The Petoskey. Michigan store lacks customer service and customer appreciation! Was in there yesterday to purchase a gun safe. Spoke with a gentleman who said he’d go get one from the back, comes back by 10 minutes later and asks me if I have been helped. Told him no, was waiting for you to bring the gun safe. Stated he was freed up now and would go get it. I waited for 45 minutes where I was told to wait. No one came, went up to front register and asked the General Manager, Micheal if someone could help me after I had been waiting for so long. He stated very rudely they were only 4 guys and I would have help as soon as possible. I told him someone was and disappeared on me. He really did not seem to care! Actually acted put out! Long story short, the damn safe was at the counter the whole time and all someone had to do was say so, but no that would have been the right thing to do!!! I left without purchasing that gun safe. I will take my money to a store that actually treats people with decency!

Well customer service sucks at Dunham’s every where from what I have read. I myself have been at the Ashwaubenon Will store 3 times since one of the kayaks was in the Ad. Now the sale is over by 3 days and tomorrow is the start of fishing season and still no kayak is available. The manager is very rude and lazy and refused to get the sale kayak even though she said it came in.She stated she will let me know when she gets around to checking it in and made no effort to even act like she cares. This lady should be fired and if Dunham’s does not care about customer service, they should just close down. Really really pathetic.

I have a complaint about your return policy. First of all, when I purchase from your store money is immediately taken from my bank account for the purchase which is expected. My complaint is when I return an item it takes your company 30 days to mail me a refund check! How ridiculous it is to have to wait 30 days for me to receive my money, when you get it almost immediately when I swip my card. Never will I shop at your store again. And looking at the previous comments, how are you still in business?
Rascal says
Just because money is put on hold does not mean the counter party automatically receives it. This is a common misconception. Thirty days is an unreasonable wait time.

The store in Troy Michigan on Coolidge road is the worst. They have only one worker working and the others are Playing hide and seek. If you want to buy a shoe good luck! Instead of making the show easily available to find your size you have to look for someone to help get the shoe.

. On January 22, my son received his acceptance letter from the college of his choice. I immediately started calling the sporting goods stores in my area to try and find a sweatshirt with his school on it. Eventually, I ended up calling Dunham’s in Shelby, NC. I asked the young girl who answered the phone if they had Appalachian State sweatshirts and she said she thought so, but would I like for her to look. I said yes, that would be great because I didn’t live local to that store, and I needed an adult size medium. She placed me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back and said, my manager said all we have are hoodies. I told her that was great because I actually preferred a hoodie and asked again, do you have his size? She said yes. I said you definitely have an adult medium and again she said yes. I said great, I will be there in a couple of hours when I get off work, she said ok, and the call ended. When I got off work at 5:30 I started making my way to Shelby and arrived around 7:15. When I entered, I immediately asked a young male associate where the collegiate apparel was and he directed me to the back corner. After looking thru all of the racks and displays, I returned to the front where that same associate was now working the register. I asked him if there was anyone who could help me because I couldn’t seem to find the Appalachian sweatshirts. He then told me that it was because they didn’t carry Appalachian and never had. I said surely you do, I called a couple of hours ago and asked. He said no. I said well can you call someone up here because I’m not very happy. He called a young girl to the front and I explained how I had called and someone told me they had checked, but now I was being told they weren’t there. She said let’s go look. So we both went and looked thru all of the racks, to no avail, and she said “sorry”. I told her I didn’t think she realized exactly how mad I was at this point or how important this was. Again, “sorry”. I then asked for the manager and she called over the radio for one. An older man approached and I heard her ask him if he had talked to someone about an Appalachian sweatshirt and his answer was– I did earlier. Then he approached me and I asked if he was the manager whom I had spoken to earlier and he said no, I just heard it over the radio. Aside from the fact that she hadn’t said that over the radio because I was standing there, I had already heard him tell her that he did. I asked him who he was and he said his name was Anthony Todd and he was the general manager. I explained to him everything that had happened, even showing them my call log of when I had called them and asked why someone would tell me that and he just said “sorry’. That is completely unacceptable to me. I asked for another manager and he said she had gone home already. Now I know from working in retail that another manager had not been called in to work the last four hours of a shift. He was the manager whom I had contact with about the shirt over the phone. I told him I had actually found another shirt at another location but when he had confirmed the shirt, I choose to come to Shelby. At that point in time it was too late to drive over an hour away to get the other shirt. Plus, this was time that I should have been home with my son celebrating! This may not seem like much to any of you, but it was a really big deal to him for several reasons. He is required to wear a uniform to school, but when seniors get accepted into college they are allowed to wear their college sweatshirt. This was an extremely proud moment for him that he had worked very hard for 13 years to achieve. You see, my son is dyslexic, so for him it was twice as much work as for most kids. He had to work longer and harder to get the good grades and he was extremely proud. As his Mother, I can’t begin to tell you how I felt because I watched him struggle and I worked with him for years so that he could do this on his own. I could have bought a sweatshirt ahead of time, but my son said it would jinx him and out of respect for him, I didn’t. This Anthony Todd lied to me for what? They were to lazy to walk over and check a shirt? There were other kids that got accepted to the same school, so they would have gone to Dunham’s. It would have been repeat business from those kids and their families for years, because all of us would have been wearing shirts. Because of his/their unprofessionalism, I can tell you I won’t go back under any cirXXXXstances. Did they honestly think I would say oh, you don’t really have it so I’ll just spend money on something else? Instead, all of the people who saw how excited I was that Dunham’s had the shirt asked me the next day if I got it, and I told them how I was lied to. Not only do your associates need a refresher course in professionalism, your manager needs an ethics course. Lying to customers isn’t a good marketing technique, especially when they heard you admit that you were the one on the phone. I can’t tell you how upset I am with your store and “sorry” really doesn’t make up for it.

I would like to share my horrible experience i came across at canton Durham store in michigan. i went store to buy shoes at about 7.15 pm. i ask one of the associate to get the shoes from back with the seize i want buy. A very young man went to back to find the shoes 15 min later he came out and he said “someone else will get for you” I wait over 20 more min. No one came out. Then i went another store to buy some thing else until they find one for me and told the same young guy to keep it for me.i came back store 20 min. later. i was told to wait until some get it from the back. i waited for over 30 min.to get the staff i need.no one seems like care about customers. it is unbelievable how they treat customer. No one deserves such horrible treatment. No one even approach me with the fake apology, even the so called manager at store by that time. it is really very upsetting to come across such casualties. I believe you need to give the job for the right person; otherwise you will lose many more customers.

Dunham’s wouldn’t sell a service member a freaking hunting rifle who has a Michigan cpl, military id, and military orders. Found every reason not to sell the rifle and trumped the law. They stated I need to have a Michigan id. They have violated my legal right to purchase a firearm. Very rude to there customers. I will never spend another dime there as well as others I have conversed with.

Duham’s in Cadillac Michigan will not honor the sale price on items. 2 times they had a sale on a item and last time on Black Friday. the item was on sale and when I went to check out they try to charge me the regular price of the item. when I brought it to attention to them they refuse to honor the sale price. I did not purchase the item.

My son and I went to the Dunham’s in Adrian Michigan to purchase a wrestling mouth guard, something that I thought would be a simple process. First of all, the mouth guard section is comprised of approximately 24 lineal feet of display area approximately 7 feet high and an 3 foot by seven foot end cap. A far cry from the six or seven options available to me when I was in high school. In this 189 square feet of selling space there are approximately 20-25 mouth guard options but there is no rhyme or reason to the way that the items are displayed which made if very difficult to shop ( a majority of the pegs had one item and most contained the same item on different pegs). To make a long story short we combed this display for 20 minutes looking for a double braces mouth guard in the 24 foot display section and could not find one, on our way out we was white end cap and a youth double braces mouth guard behind three packages of adult double brace mouth guards and left the store. The problem is that after pulling and re-stocking the pegs my son picked up the original single brace mouth guard and inadvertently opened it on the ride home. I immediately took the mouth guard back and was told by the manager that it could not be returned despite the fact that it had not been used and that there were at least a dozen opened packages on the shelves. The manager would not budge and I asked him to walk back to the display and find a double braces guards, something that he could not do, after ten minutes I showed him where they were hidden and he still would not budge on returning the mouth guard. I purchased the replacement and left the store disappointed in myself for all of the discount cards that I gave out to parents when I coached baseball and softball.

I went to Dunhams in Carlisle today for their special two day gun sale. I was there before they opened on Sunday 11/5/17 one the first day of the sale and was the third customer in line and the first customer to request the Remington RM380 which was advertised for a sale starting today. I was told that they were sold out of this gun and they wouldn’t be receiving anymore until after the sale. How can you advertise an item on sale if you don’t have even one. That is false advertisement. I requested a rain check but was told no.

Went to Dunham Sports,Mansfield,Ohio with full intention to purchase a Marcy weight stack machine which was advertised Columbus day on sale at $269. I went a week later with a coupon on your website for $289 which I was going to pay. But I also had a 25% coupon off for giving my e-mail. Upon arriving I see a sale sign on the weight set of $299 and an advertised price of $369 sign on top of the weight set. The sales associate said the 25% off was for the $369 price only and the $289 coupon wasn’t good plus a $140 delivery and set up charge. You idiots are all over the place with to many deceptive moves from your web coupons to your crap in the store. I have been in customer service for 30 years and your company is obviously clueless.I left saying that’s why there wasn’t a single person in the entire store but me. Would anyone want to business with you,no way!

To Whom it may concern,
It is October 1st at 9:06 am instead of sitting in my tree stand on opening day breathing in the cool crisp air waiting for a deer to come in the area I am sitting on my couch missing opening day which I have not done in 20 years.
I am a middle class american that thoroughly enjoys the little time off of work hunting and fishing. This year i decided to get a second job to get on top of bills and buy some new hunting gear. Mind you I saved money for almost 6 months for this grand shopping trip.

I entered your store, purchase hunting cloths for my wife (a first for her) a bunch of outdoor equipment I spent $472.94
I also special ordered a tree stand that you guys had on the floor but didn’t have any left in stock
The sales associates and the Manager on duty explained to me that if I pay half down for the stand they would have it in a couple days.
Separate transaction from the $472.94

Homested 7′ Quadpro retail price $329.99
I also had a 20% off coupon from your mailing list, the manager informed me that I can not use this coupon on a special order.
Sounds like bullXXXXX to me but ok
I Proceded to put down a deposit of $174.90
Half of the stand.
The manager thanked me for my purchases and told me I will get an e-mail/Phone call in a couple days when the item arrives.
September 1st 2017
No contact from the store or e-mail
I stopped in the store to check on things and they informed me that the stand was not in yet but leave my name and number and someone will contact me.
September 15th 2017
No Contact
Once again I stopped in the store to check on things. This time the manager was on break and the employees didn’t know how to look it up. So I stood at the counter while the manager stood out front smoking a cigarette for 22 minutes. I understand your on break but its not hard to put it out and re lite when the time is given. (your a manager get your XXXXX together)
He came in and looked me up on the computer and stated he has no idea why I haven’t been contacted leave me your name and number I will have my boss call you before 6pm tonight. I asked him if I could get my money back and he stated to me I don’t know how to do that I could give you store credit. I walked back by the stand and the only other suitable stand that I was interested in was out and needing a special order. (nope, no, not going down this trail again, nope)
September 29th 2017
I received a phone call from your manager
“Hello Adam, I am calling you to ask if you still wanted the item you special ordered?” “The ONLY reason I am calling is because it popped up on my computer that it is 30 days”
Well sir…I have stopped in the store twice and opening day is in two days. So even tho it is inconvenient for me to get the blind today or tomorrow I would still like the item”
Manager- “No problem sir, I will find one today even if I have to drive somewhere and pick it up myself”
Awesome, guess what?
Now its October 1st and still no call, email, or XXXXXing stand
P.S. The only reason it is here is because I attempted to send an email twice and is amazes me that the server fails every time you hit submit.

I will no longer shop in your store, neither will any of my hunting club. I stopped by the Frackville, Pa. Dunham’s store to purchase scent killer spray, which had a sign for $10.99 with a $5.00 mail in rebate. However I noticed that the sticker on the product was $13.99, so before proceeding to the register I took a picture of the sign. Of coarse at the register they expected me to pay the $13.99. I explained that there was a sign stating that the price was $10.99 so the cashier called the manager for a price change. She asked why and I began to explain to her, which she stated that I was just trying to save a buck and that she didn’t believe me that there was a sign. I had asked the cashier to go back and check the sign, after 5 minutes she stated that there was no sign so I went back and the sign was gone. So there where 2 other costumers standing there, and I asked them and they said they seen her remove the sign from the shelf. Very unprofessional, however I still had the photo on my phone and showed the manager who can up with every excuse not to give me the discounted price, I was told I’m cheap trying to save a buck, the sale expired etc… she also spoke very loud so others could hear our conversation.
Needless to say, she gave me the product at the sale price after 1/2 hour at the register. And when I filled out the Rebate form to get the $5.00 off, I noticed that the sale extends into 2018 and the manager lied about that to me. I believe that if your company plans to stay in business you need to interview your employees much better, because I see this list of complaints and they all have one thing in common, that your company simply does not care about the costumer you just care about the Almighty Dollar.

I wanted to share my poor experience at your store. I recently received a email with a coupon for buy one under armour tee get the second half off. So I proceeded to your store located in Chippewa PA. After picking out my 2 under armour tee shirts. I had picked out a few other items. When I proceeded to the check out the associate told me my coupon would not work on my tees. When the manager came to the register she re scanned my coupon and was clueless. Then she proceeded to tell me maybe it does not work. I said that they were tee shirts and the email said nothing about what tee shirts. There were no signs in the store thay said these tees only for buy one get one half off. She refused to give me my 12 bucks off my tee shirt. I then proceeded to cancel my $100 plus dollar order. From someone who purchases a lot of merchandise from you store I was very disappointed. Because the manager gave me a hard time over a coupon that would have been worth 12 bucks I left all my merchandise at the store and walked out. The emails are blunt on coverage. And there are no signs in the store. Extremely dossapinting to say the least.
Thank you

Dinhams Monroe mi has THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Every time I go in there I swear it will be my last. I never buy anything. Why? Because I never get eye contact from their workers. They never say hi, ask if you need help – nothing! I actually stood right in front of a young male worker today, he actually looked at me, turned around and walked away. I stood there dumbfounded for about 5 minutes. He never looked my direction again. I went to the front doors, and told my husband I wanted to leave. As he walked past the register I said to my him, ask him if he’s the manager (about the man works gm the register). Now I cannot make up what happened next. The worker at the register heard what I said, leaned around to peek in my direction. I thought grest! Finally recognition – nope. He went right back to ringing his customer. Again, we left empty handed and completely ignored. Nice Dunhams. Real nice.

I was very upset with the Dunham in Anderson Indiana, I was told when I went in yesterday I was told I could get a military discount on a firearm and today I went in to buy it and was told that they didn’t honor any military discount. With this being said I will let ALL my current military and veteran not to shop at dunhams.

I recently went to the Dunhams located at 972 Freeport Road in Pittsburgh PA. I went to purchase a Kayak. I knew nothing and asked to speak to a manager for guidance. I spoke to a manager named Jeff and he was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient with me. He took the time to answer all of my questions and maintained complete honesty about the pros and cons based on my needs. The end result was that I ended up with the perfect Kayak! I even took my wife back to buy her one. Now I plan on getting more Kayaks for the rest of the family.
On a side note, I was impressed with how well Jeff handled the needs of other customers and employees who barraged him with questions and concerns while he was carrying my Kayak to my truck for me. I could see that he has a difficult job but handles it with competence. It’s my hope that corporate would recognize Jeff for his great service. This is because without managers like him, I would be heading to one of the competing mega sporting goods stores in Pittsburgh for future purchases.

Dear Ray,
It is refreshing to see a hard working employee get recognition, that seldom happens at Dunham’s. Generally employees are only rewarded for sucking up, flirting with and doing Management’s job. It is a sad thing to see but it happens in Dunham’s stores company wide with generally only a handful of exceptions!

To whom it may concern. I have stop shopping at your stores for the simple fact of the hassle it has become to price match the other brick and mortar stores. Just as an FYI to all, you guys, your prices aren’t all that great. They are above average, and I’m finding them to be 30% above the norm. When I try to get you price match the competition in the firearm or ammunition, your managers have started this thing to where corporate is requesting request in a flyer to be attached to the purchase , as so to send back to corporate. They at least want some sort of print out showing the advertised price. Bringing the add up on the phone is no longer accepted. I explained that this must be a miss understanding of policies, as the world is all using smart phones including Dunham’s as a means of getting their products and store name out there. This is simply another method of not honoring your mission statement, and creating a long process to not price match the competition. I explained to your manger, that if they were so customer serviced as they try to portrait, why don’t they simply print out the competitors add on one of their desk tops in the offices behind the scene. The responses have been we aren’t going to do that. So, I’ve decided to go to the store that has the better prices as an constant. If you were to have a really good price on an specific item, which is highly doubtful, I will use your advertised price, and have the competitors match. You need to get with the program, as the dark ages have been over for a very long time.

My 8 year old son and I were shopping at the hermitage pa store looking for flag football gloves. We asked the manager if we could open the package and try them on but the gloves ended up being to big, my son said my soccer gloves are a little big and they work. The manager looked at my son and said well soccer’s not even a sport so it doesn’t matter and then went on to say in his error they just thought different about soccer players. How does a manager talk to an 8 year old child like that

Here is my post on Yelp after experiencing one of the most extraordinary situations I have ever been involved with… This is now trending on Social Media and for very good reason. All my kids and I were doing was shopping.
Racial profiling the moment you walk in the door and start shopping. Welcome to Dunham’s Sports Benton Harbor where everyone is welcome to shop except…..
I brought my kids and a couple of their friends to the Benton Harbor store and I am white and two of my children (14 and 15) are black. Once we walked in the store, I asked them to go pick out what they wanted and I went a few isles over looking at other things. 10 minutes later my kids and their friends had picked out multiple things to buy and were in the middle of the store. One of my sons runs over to me and says that there is trouble. I walked over and their are police officers around the kids and I asked what had happened. He said the store called them in because the boys were exhibiting suspicious behavior. I asked his what behaviors and he said looking over their shoulders and things like that. Apparently the “poorly trained” Dunham staff, saw 3 black kids picking out clothes and shopping and called the police before even speaking with the boys and even asking them if their parents were with them. Not to mention the staff could not explain one thing that the boys had done wrong other than shopping and exhibiting suspicious behavior. What a pile of CRAP to say the least. Now you would think at the very least, they would apologize to the children. NOPE, nothing but a bunch of uneducated blank stares from Dan the Assistant General Manager and his tracking sidekick Dana.
If you enjoy sports but not racial profiling, this is not a place to go and it should be investigated for it’s practices. I will be following up with the executives of the company. Sincerely a sad day in America.
Sincerely,
Michael Stomberg

Michael Stomberg, sorry your kids had to go through that. I myself being an african american male experienced racial profiling just yesterday, 11/24/2017 at rhe Benton Harbor store. I went there to purchase a firearm last week during a Sunday and Monday sale. I got bad vibes soon as I came in, like i was being watched for stealing. So i make it to the back where the guns were, told them i wanted to purchase a gun and their facial expressions told it all. Very rude customer service!!! I had to wait to buy the gun because the FBI had me under review. Called them back yesterday and they said the FBI cleared me to purchase. Well, me and my wife get there and again, bad customer service, didnt even get aknowledge until after the white customers were helped. Had to sign more paper work and the lady told me to take the UPC paper to the front to purchase it while she completes the paper work. she aslo told me to give her a call if the price rings up wrong, because i had asked her the week before if i will still get the same price after waiting for the FBI. She agreed the price was locked in but when we got to the counter the price was the regular price. Keep in mind, me and my wife waited over an hour. I asked the cashier to call to the gun counter because the price was indeed wrong. She goes to say that was the right price, and without the cut out from the paper to prove it i will have to pay the regular price. Then i asked to see the manager, she would not even come out to see us, insteed she told the cashier to tell us to come back tommorrow. I told the cashier we have been here over an hour already and would like to see the manager to solve the issue now. Out the blue, here comes the Manager Rachel yelling and telling us to leave for cussing out the cashier. We did not cuss one time nor was loud, even asked the cashier when did we cuss her out and she said “i dont know”. Rachel ended up calling the cops, and we were told to leave and if we come back we will go to jail. I have filed with the Better Business, and contacted Dan myself whom stated he will look into it. Please reach out to me if needed, you can find me on Facebook by my name. I will be contacting my lawyer Tuesday to file a Racial Discrimination lawsuit. My wife also recorded everything on her phone.

In October 2016 I purchased a crossbow, blind and accessories for this hunting season. My crossbow was damaged during production because the broken piece wasn’t in the box. My blind had two broken zippers so now I can’t close the door. I contacted Barnett crossbows and Barronett blinds and only got automated email messages. I have emailed Dunhams to see if they would refund me my money back to buy other brand equipment and nothing!!! So to recap, I have spent a lot of money and have broken new gear and the companies involved won’t help resolve this matter!!!! The next step is to contact the BBB and report the lack of customer service!!!
