Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon was founded in the Winston/Salem area of North Carolina in 1989. The restaurant offers a casual dining experience  with typical American fare such as steaks, seafood, burgers, and salads. Each location has an old time, Texas ranch decor. By 2008, the company had 152 locations.

The restaurant chain fell on hard times.. It was purchased in 2006 by Lone Star Funds, an unrelated, private equity firm for $600 million. Once publicly traded on the NASDAQ, Lone Star Steakhouse is now privately owned. Since its purchase, newer restaurant locations and remodeled locations no longer feature the Texas ranch decor, but favor a more upscale, trendy type of motif. The menu has also been revamped and today features 25 items under $10. This has dramatically increased sales.

Today, Lone Star Steakhouse operates 78 restaurants in 29 states.

Good afternoon. I would like to address an issue that occurred on December 12, 2018 around 7:30pm. My husband and I are regular “ go out to eat” type of people. It was a Sunday night and we did not feel like loading up two kids. Figured I would give Door Dash a try. Which they did their part. And on a timely manner. Once the food arrived at my house, I was looking forward to enjoying my Spicy Cesar Salad. Which I had asked for chopped red onions and bacon to be added, with dressing on the side. My husband was the one that took the food from the driver. ( Otherwise I would have noticed) I called TXLC (not door dash, was not their mistake) spoke with Aaron ( General Manager), he is the one that placed the order in the system per the ticket, spoke for a good 25 minutes trying to explain to me how door dash works rather than making a customer happy. I asked for the district managers name and a way of contacting them. He gave me an email address and said there is noting he can do. The order was through door dash. (Which now has been taken care of) I thought it was a good idea to go ahead and call corporate to inform them of the issue. Spoke to Stacey Williams. Once I explained everything to him, he told me, “Yes, Arron has already called me and told me to be expecting a call for you” “What do you want? A free salad?” Wow, just wow. If this is the way you train your District managers, General managers and Assistant Managers to handle simple situations like this, I’m sorry. After reading some reviews, I can see why there are so many issues.

This is for Texas Land and Cattle in Garland, TX. Cant find any other platform to write a review. I will be sending a certified letter to Scott Smith and Tim Dungan

We had gift certificates to use at Lone Star. We ordered two filet mignons. We did not get them. They looked like sirloins and tasted like them. Tough and chewy. I sent a message to Lone Star. They offered to give a certificate for one meal and not the other. Corporate doesn’t give a damn. Go to Texas Roadhouse and save money.

I purchased a $50 gift certificate at a medical benefit that was issued from the Mt. Pleasant, Mi. Restaurant that has since closed. This was issued one day prior to closing and I find it hard to believe that upon issuing this they did not know they were closing!! I am not happy and want to know how this can be resolved??

I gave a $50 Lone Star gift card as a Christmas gift. I had eaten at the Lone Star in Midlothian, Virginia, but less than two months after Christmas the recipient told me that restaurant was no longer open. Not only that, but now I have discovered that there are no longer any Lone Stars anywhere in Virginia or Maryland at all.

How can you fix this embarrassing situation for me?

What can we do with our gift cards we havent used?
I would think Lone Star would make them good.
Obviously we loved eating there and when asked where we would like gift cards from…we said Lone Star.
It is not so much the money amount $30 as it is about recognizing and appreciating loyal customers who will miss you greatly…Danville VA
    Thanks

I’ve just come from an evening at the Owasso Lone Star steak house in Owasso Oklahoma. There were 22- 23 of if, and we arrived from 6:30 to 7:15 PM.

What a failure!!!! While the servers (to young ladies) were doing their best to be “up beat” it was MORE THAN obvious that the kitchen staff (or who ever was IN THE kitchen) was either untrained, incompetent, or had NO SYSTEMS to work with or all of the above… .

Why do I say this? Well. after waiting about 45 minuets + for our orders to arrive it was obvious by the differing food temperatures that the “Plates” had been sitting in for a LONG TIME. with out a) the FULL ticket being filled, or b) REFER TO A!!

I ordered a 20 oz. rib eye. med rare. When my food finally came the rib eye was cold. NOT only cold, but parts of it were cooked to more than WELL done, and other areas of the steam were practically raw .

It doesn’t take a Sherlock Holmes,or Gordon Ramsey mentality to understand that this occurred because the steak was cooked from Frozen to the inadequate state that it ended up in.

Mean while the baked potato was luke warm, BUT the (who cares) Mac Cheese was .warm.

I also had one Bud light, and two (premium) margaritas what were such a “short poor” that it was a total joke.

After about 45 minuets of waiting, I made a (no joke) offer to the hard working, apologetic, and obviously embarrassed waitress to go and FIRE THE KITCHEN staff… and I wasn’t joking.

After the food (finally, and sporadically) was delivered I doubled my offer.. to FIRE THE kitchen staff…..

As the evening ended one of our members stood up and asked….”SO how many of you would come back here for a second time” …. The show of hands was unanimous… NONE!!

I”m suspect that the gals (wanting to protect the manager)relayed our dissatisfaction to the manager who came in to our dining area as the event was breaking up, and he offered an apologize for the TOTALLY inadaquite experience that all 22+ of us had just had…

    So…. Conclusion?

This place sucks… It’s obvious that either the staff is under trained or the WRONG STAFF…

The ONLY thing good about this evening spent at the Lone Star Steak house in Owasso Oklahoma was the undying optimism of the gals who (TRIED) to help is, and the friends that I shared this lousy dining experience with….

This place SUCKED on the evening of 1.20. 17 …I can assure the management of Lone Star Steakhouse that NON of the 22+ people that were in attendance at the diner I was at will, a) be back, or c) be telling any GOOD stories about the Lone Star Steak house in Owasso Oklahoma.

I have been trying to speak to someone in accounts payable for several weeks now. Your restaurant in Greensboro, NC ordered a banner from us and has yet to pay us. It was completed on 5/13/216 and today’s date is 8/16/2016. It was ordered by one of the managers Ann Bishop. The amount was for $388.91. We have spent our time and money to complete a job, not to mention several proofs for our customer Lone Star, only to be told a couple weeks later that they really didn’t need the banner after all. We are a small business that strives to provide excellent customer service and an excellent product for our customers. We have done OUR part, now we need for you to do yours. Please have someone contact me with information as to when we can expect payment for our services!! Thank you! Gail Hodges

I have been trying to call you and have left many voice mails and no response as of yet. I mow the lawn for lone star steakhouse in Bloomington IL. I have received the first payment that I sent in but I am inquiring about the 2nd on billing date June 4th account #954461 for $325. I want to know when I can expect a payment for that billing? This is way past 30 days after billing. I have since sent another bill dated June 25th account # 954461 witch is coming up on 30 days from billing. I appreciate taking care of your lawn for you but I would like to be paid in a timely manner. Thanks in advance for your prompt response. Have a great day.
