Petland was founded in 1967 by Ed Krunzelman. Petland is privately owned and has gone from one store in Ohio to more than 230 locations in the U.S. and 63 other countries, including Japan, Canada, Mexico, China, El Salvador, and Brazil.
Petland is a full service pet retailer that does not sell animals from “puppy mills” or other breeders. The company uses rescue centers or local shelters as a source of pet adoptions. The company’s “Adopt a Pet” program, which began in 1988, also raises money for animal welfare organizations.
The company had annual revenue in 2013 of $6.9 billion. The company has offered franchising since 1971. Petland offers the usual pet food and pet supplies as well as grooming and boarding of dogs and cats at most locations.

The dogs purchased from your company from puppy mills were found to be sick Dead dogs were found in the freezer. The Humane Society found all this out and gave they’re findings to The Frisco Animal Services. The Animal Services required the store owner to take the animals to a vet. Please stop selling these poor animals and break all ties with thee cruel puppy mills.

Dear Mr. Watson,
Being in business myself for over forty years I know how difficult it is to hire good employees and how often customers are quick to criticize so here is a welcome change.
On February 6th , midday, I inadvertently left my wallet at your Medford, N.Y. location. When I returned to the store your employee, Robin Richards, recognized me and immediately returned the wallet which contained both cash and all my credit cards and personal information. When I offered him a reward he was quick to refuse.
i would appreciate it if you would advise him that I have contacted you and perhaps send him a letter of praise for his honesty.
Your truly,
Don Sterling
