I am a 73 year old grandmother from Brockway, Pennsylvania. My entire family and myself have shopped at Bi-Lo’s in Brockway, Pennsylvania. About three years ago, I took back a pack of hamburg that smelled awful, even the girl at the service desk said it was “rank”. She told me to get a pack to replace it which I did. A few months later when I ordered a birthday cake, the did Christmas colors on the icing in the summer. I told them about it and they said if I wanted a different one, I would have to pay again, so I took the one they had made. However, while at the cash register, the bakery manager told the cashier to take off $6.00 because it was their mistake. Their original cake decorator was on vacation and someone decorated the cake. Anyway, the manager there John Martino because it is called Martino’s Bi-Lo told me not to come back. I didn’t for many years, he embarrassed me. However, because of Covid-19 pandemic and this market is close to my home, I went there today to shop. John was there and he told me “you are not allowed here, get your items and leave”. When I asked why, he said “you can’t be trusted” (I have not idea why he said that and he will give me no explanation”. He walks away and tells me don’t come back. I feel I need to seek the advice of an attorney. I thought I would send this to you first to see what you feel I can do. I cannot believe this is happening – I have never in my entire life done anything where anyone would say “you can’t be trusted”. Can you take care of this for me or at least advise me as to what I can do. I like the Bi-Lo stores and , of course, this is close to my home. I appreciate your respond. Thank you so much!

I am a loyal 25+ year customer of BiLo. I shop at the BiLo on Devine st in Columbia SC. I recently purchased 80+ dollars worth of groceries from that store, and later that same day found out that the hamburger meat I bought was no good. I tried to take it back the next day, but was told by the assistant manager that Bilo will NOT take back any product during the CoVid 19 pandemic. What kind of a way to treat your customers is that???? We are already without income! YOU are already charging us more for items! For example, the hamburger meat I purchased is normally $9-$10 dollars for the same size and weight. But this item you listed for $17.99!!!! And when it turns out to be bad meat, you refuse to take it back???????? I will hold this meat and receipt until this is over to get my refund. BUT, YOU HAVE LOST A 25 YEAR LOYAL CUSTOMER DUE TO YOUR APATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

That store mentioned in the complaint above (store #5604 on Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Clearwater, SC.), is THE WORST managed store I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Although it is only a half mile away, I gladly drive to a near city to spend my money at Kroger. This store is always poorly stocked, and many times NEVER has sale items, which is either potentially false advertising, consumer fraud, or “bait and switch”! They eagerly offer you a rain check as an option, knowing full well they will never have to honor it, since they will never have the product. This is NOT “they had the items, but sold out early”……never had it! You recently closed a nearby store, that was 10 times better than this store. Is corporate THAT incompetent?

Went to the store #5604 on Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Clearwater, SC. on June 2,just before 5:00 PM to buy a chicken dinner. Had to wait about five minutes
for one of the three girls behind the counter to offer to help me. I ask for an order
of chicken she said they did not have enough to fill my order, I ask about potato
wedges she said they only have them on certain days I ask what days she said I know we have them on Mondays, I ask if they had any cold slaw she said all we have is what you see in the case. Being treated like a 3rd class citizen I left.
I was at the same store a week ago and was not treated much better. There is
Kroger, Publix, Popeye’s and more just down the road and I don’t think they will treat a customer that way, that will be my choice from now on.

We live next to the Bilo on Hwy 24 in Anderson, SC. Every year your store runs refrigeration units of various types around the clock on holiday weekends. This is like one or more lawn mowers running non stop in our backyard. Calls to your managers result in nothing being done. We tolerate the other inconsiderate behavior by your store (dumpster emptying, parking lot cleaning, and noise from the back of the store at all hours of the night )but it should not be asking too much for you to put a stop to trucks and refrigeration units sitting behind Bilo and running all night or all weekend. This store has a very large parking lot in front of the store and another very large parking lot across the street so it isn’t like they don’t have options. Your store manager assures me that he has no control of what happens outside the building because Bilo only rents and does not own the land. I believe Bilo just doesn’t care how much they destroy other peoples lives. Prove me wrong by fixing this problem. Thank you for your time.

I think its appalling when bilos goes up on their prices during a hurricane. Especially for the victims. Its just plain evil. Making more money at the expense of hurricane victims. Not good at all.

We moved here from New England 5 years ago and started going to Bi-Lo about 3 times a week. I use to spend quite a bit of money here. About a year ago I noticed your meat cutters at store 5116 do not use gloves when cutting meat and do so in front of a huge window for all to see. I have reported this to different store managers over the past year, as it is pretty disgusting to watch while they cut and package with no sanitary concerns what so ever.
So after a year of not going to your store I happened to be going by and needed a few items so I stopped in. No I did not buy your meat because once again there they are no gloves and cutting away meat….I did stop at the desk and told them they lost a good customer and will never ever be back.

There must be something .wrong when a valuable employee like William (Will) Mahaffey who works at the Bi-Lo on Emanuel and Old Barbell Rds. Has to leave the store because he can no longer be hardware by the ones above him. Will has been with your store 11 years a devoted employee and told to me by his boss Scott that he has never had an employee work as hard as Will , that’s why Scott has moved him up from position to position, but something has changed in Scott and the other manager John , and nowbWill is their punch bag. Will’s work ethics have not changed he is more devoted to that store than ever , but When he’s off his cell phone rings all day long with complaints . He showed me it was just message .after message. He left last week because his nerves were so bad my daughter had to take him to the hospital they had to give him a shot and said he had something like a light breakdown. You need to talk to Will , he has. nothing but bust his butt to make that store the best and I have watched him do it over all these years . There must be something terribly wrong when an employee this good gets put through this treatment, even the big boss that inspectects the store and others in his district thinks the world of Will. Don’t know if you’re a parent or not but I would like this looked into .Talk to Will his number 261_XXXXX Thanks
