Ace Hardware in Anderson California is the closest hardware store to where I live that I can usually get what I need so I’ve been a loyal customer for many years. What I do not appreciate is the employees following me around the store like I’m going to steal from them when I’ve never stolen anything from anyone or any store my entire life and while they’re following me around the people who are actually stealing from them are walking out of the store with stolen merchandise. That is something that will get on every customer’s nerves so they really need to train their employees to not follow the loyal paying customers around the store and pay attention to the people sticking stuff in their backpacks, purses, pockets, etc. Also I don’t understand why customers are not allowed to go out into the garden area. I find it a bit strange that if you need potting soil they call someone to get it for you instead of allowing you to get it yourself. The employees who follow people around the store think they are sneaky and you don’t realize what they’re doing but they are SO obvious it’s almost funny. You’ll have 4 -5 different people come into the aisle you’re in acting like they’re looking for something but they won’t grab anything they’ll just ask you if they can help YOU find something. I felt like asking them if I could help THEM find whatever they were looking for when they do that. I understand that there are people who do steal from stores but I am not and never have been and never will be a thief and I don’t like being followed throughout the store like I am one. That is the only 2 issues with Anderson’s store. I purchased something online from Ace Hardware that was advertised and what I received when I went to pick it up was not what was advertised. False advertisement never makes a company look good or trustworthy. They should honor their advertisement they have online but they didn’t.

I bought a part for a soldering iron at an ACE 35 miles from home because I just happened to be in the area. I realized that it was the wrong item within 2 hours, and tried to return (unopened and with receipt) at 2 different ACE but they refused because “they dont carry the item.” I emailed the original store as I was not sure when I would be back at that store. They provided a list of 3 ACE that carry the item. I went to that store, Ace in Sparta MI, and Joe REFUSED to take it back, even though they carry the item, the item hadn’t been sold in a while so he refused to take it back. I was so mad as I had spent time and money for gas to go to this store to return.

I bought a new aluminum screen for my patio door and noticed an imperfection every 6″ to the middle of the screen. Thought it would stretch out but when done I noticed a hole at the last one in the middle. Figured I lost that money. I turned on my new ACE Hardware Hose to clean it up and it was spraying all over the place at the seam where it connects to the spigot. First time I turned it on so I tried to take it back but didn’t have the receipt and they wanted the original pagageing too. They also said I could of bought it anywhere so I showed them where it has ACE stamped into the red handle at the end. It didn’t matter. I’ve had other problems there and I am done with them. I can’t afford to through new stuff out.

Hi,
This is a face mask concern at the Ace store in Lafayette, California.
All the employees are doing a good job wearing masks. So do the customers. The mask-wearing notice on the front door is very clear. I buy KN 95 masks at this store. And, I have been a satisfied customer for 21-years.
Then today I encounter a tall gentleman who is restocking various shelves, wearing a blue Ace Hardware shirt, nut NOT WEARING A MASK.
I asked another employee why he had no mask, and the reply was “He is the OWNER.” The employee also seemed intimidated to take this further. I too felt a political fuse blowing event would happen, if I asked him. So I didn’t.
Please ask the owner to comply with the statewide order to wear masks in this situation. Also have him consider there are 62 covid deaths in our county, up 50% in the past three weeks.
He has senior citizens who are customers. Many of his customers return home to at risk family members. And, if his employees are intimidated on this issue, a customer observing this situation has to wonder what else is going on. Also, I buy safety equipment at Ace. Is shunning public safety policy consistent with being a vendor of fire extinguishers, protective gear, etc?
Please contact the owner and help him understand how important this is.
Thank you for your attention.

Worst customer service in Island Park, NY. They give you the wrong prices, and are too busy to answer your questions..which lead to a hang-up.

I was in the Batavia Il store last month and was appalled at the way the manager was acting. He was speaking very childish and used profanity towards an employee. I continued to shop only because I didn’t want to have to make another stop. Once again the same manager then was yelling and shouting profanity to a elderly customer. I do not know the details as to what the situation was but I am certain that it should not have been handled that way. You have some very helpful employees at this store and I would hate for anyone to be treated so disrespectfully. I was going to let it go however I happen to hear a similar store of said manager by my neighbor.
So this must be a common issue that is not being addressed. I will continue to shop there, however next time I witness something like this authorities will be called.

I shopped at the Ace Hardware in Iron River Michigan today. Not one single employee was wearing a mask. No social distancing what so ever. No plexiglass by the cashier. I will never shop at this Ace again!
Kurt says
I had the unhappy experience of going to the ACE Hardware store in Blair Nebraska. I was the only person in the store wearing any type of mask, including employees. While the sign on the door clearly states that Ace supports and requests that social distancing be practiced, there was no indication of this policy being recognized by store employees.
I was approached by a very friendly employee who offered to help me find an item. Unfortunately she decided to offer that assistance from 2 feet away (again with no mask). I politely refused and asked her to please back up.
While your employees may not feel threatened by this pandemic and are willing to take a chance they won’t be exposed by me, they’re wearing of masks also protects me from them. And I’m unwilling to take that chance.
I have visited Home Depot, Lowes, and Menards and all of their employees right down to the folks driving the fork lifts in the yard wear masks.
While the local Ace store is much closer I will be doing business with one of the three merchants I mentioned above purely for safety reasons.
FYI -I was looking for a 5/16 x 3/8 set screw which does not appear in the online catalog so I did not have the option for curbside pickup.

Madles Ace Hardware in Center Valley, Pa. was not even close to social distancing. They were not limiting the number of people in the store at a time and it’s a small store. You couldn’t avoid touching others on a Sunday afternoon. It was disheartening and disappointing that the public health was being sacrificed in that way.

I can’t find stuff I’m looking for at a store and some wimp is terrified of a panic plague and whining about it! common sense always trumps panic, maybe some should stop doing anything that might hurt them (driving, eating, walking, ect.)…or just stay home and let others be free of your panic!
Jake says
I could not agree more. I am so tired of these liberals forcing thier concerns on everyone. If you want to wear a mask and be a hypochondriac, that is fine. I do not hold that against you. It is your right. What you do not have the right to do is tell others that you are offended by their choice to not wear a mask and panic. The liberally biased media has told nothing but lies about covid and used it as a way to steal the 2020 election from the ligetimate President Donald Trump.

I was at the Balwinsville, NY location yesterday and noted several customers AND employees not wearing masks. When I asked why they were not wearing them they said it was not required. Required or not the owner of this establishment should require the employees wear masks to help protect the public and show respect for those who are actually following the executive order issued last week by the Governor of NY. I am a Marine and fight battles for our country, I should not have to fight a battle in my own home town!! I asked to speak to a manager but left after 30 minutes because “he was too busy to talk to me” What a joke. I am so disgusted I needed to leave and go to Home Depot who has employees standing at the entrance verifying all customers had a face covering on before entering the store.
Abbie says
I think I was there at the same time 🙁 I stopped the Baldwinsville Police in the parking lot who refused to even say anything to anyone. “It’s not a law, it’s an executive order” Absolutely disgusting.#BaldwinsvillePolice should be ashamed of themselves. It may not be a law to wear masks but it is an offense which they can be fined $1,000 per person for violating social distancing. Anyone who has been in the Baldwinsville location knows you can’t walk past the cashier without being within 6 feet of them. The young cashier refused to wear a mask! Shame on this location for saying the support and care about their community, obviously they do not.

I received the opposite treatment, as a former Marine and Soldier with PTSD from multiple combat tours and with my service dog in tow, I was denied entry into an Ace Hardware in Texas, despite a mask not being required for those who have health or mental issues precluding them from wearing the masks… maybe you’d be happier in Texas Gary…

The Store manager at store 11772 in Salt Lake City is a total waste of flesh. I’ve personally observed him standing across from the cash registers at the front of the store when there are 8 – 10 customers lined up to be waited on (there’s 3 registers) when there is only one person manning the registers and they are working their tail off to get everyone waited on, and the manager will not call for someone else to man a register or do it himself. He seems to think that since he’s the manager he doesn’t need to do anything but watch (as the customers continue to be frustrated).

I had occasion a couple of months ago to buy Krylon paint and primer from your Kinsman, Ohio store. Upon painting my garage door I realized I needed more paint. I went back to the Kinsman Store and after not finding it on the shelf, I incuired with the 2 associates that were standing around if they had any additional cans of Krylon Covermax paint in my color. The basic response I received was “If it isn’t on the shelf we don’t have it” Still preferring to support my local business, I asked if they could order additional cans. I was given a non answer, which meant no and was told it must be discontinued if we don’t have it. They refused to check to see if they could order it. I went on Krylon’s website and found that the local Lowes had 17 cans available of that paint and color. There is no indication that it had been discontinued.

I was at your store in Cutler Bay Florida, 20537 Old Cutler Rd. I was returning a fan and they told me I couldn’t return it, it has never been used but they told me it was a hurricane supply and couldn’t return it I asked to talk to the manager Michael Valie . He told me the same thing and I told him for Customer Service that it was stupid. He took it personally and said to me “it looks like you want to do something, take your best shot motherf-er.” Then he told me he was 62 years old and I told him I am older than him. This man needs to personally apologize to me at the least. He needs to be reprimanded as your company policy says. My phone number (305)479-XXXX. In advance, I would like to thank you for your cooperation on this matter and I’m waiting for a reply.

Hiring practices are a bit shady. Warehouse workers hired with truck driver and the benefits are presented the same and they are far from it. The way drivers are treated is terrible. New truck are advertised but not the case as anew driver. Drivers have to get their own truck s serviced and figure out their own way back to get to their own vehicle. They pay configuration is screwed up and makes me think it’s on purpose. Drivers make a mistake they don’t fillings paid for their time. Drivers have to wait a year to get time off so if they need it, they fight to even get time for Dr appt. You want reliable and hard working but do not incent that behavior. Your drivers do not get work life balance. Double standard benefits between departments is unfair. Drivers should have the union. Might true things up a bit.

Recently received an Ace Reward coupon offering a “Free Grill Cover”. No indication that it required a purchase of a grill. Went to Ace Hardware in North Reading, Ma to collect. Told they would not honor as Ace made a mistake and forgot to add a purchase was required. Not my problem. I just wanted the cover. Told the manager I was going to file a complaint and he said “go for it”. Not very good customer service. Will go elsewhere if I can to avoid supporting their business

I received awards coupons in the mail a couple years ago so I went to my store in Willowick, Ohio cause I like to support local businesses. I picked out a Stihl weed wacker and asked the person waiting on me if they would honor and the coupon. She said yes but when I got to the cashier I was told the coupon would not be honored because I was buying a Stihl product. Fast forward June 1, 2019. Got a $20 off coupon from Stihl so I called the Willowick store. The clerk told me he was too busy to answer my questions so I’d have to come into the store. I had picked out a Stihl leaf blower so I came into the store, only to be told the coupon wouldn’t be honored. Needless to say, I’m done shopping at this store because I’m tired of getting jerked around.
Kathy Hughes says
Please remove my name from your mailing list. I am tired of receiving coupons, only to be told every time I can’t use them, the items I want are on sale. I read the current flyer for my local store and the driveway coating was not in it. There was nothing on the sign or the small placard I was to take into the store to indicate the item was on sale. I would love to shop “small business” local than the big box store but they are so expensive and problematic. Saylor’s gives Ace a bad name

Attn : John Tovar : Mr. Tovar, I am contacting you to try to open a Ace Hardware
store in Carencro,Louisiana. Carencro is pronounced (Karen – crow). Our city has a Fred’s Dollar that is in the process of closing. The building is made of concrete blocks and in very good condition. There is a parcel of land right behind the store that is for sale and could be used to put building, covered area
for lumber, etc. that Ace sells. The closes hardware store, competition is Lowe’s,7-10 miles away. A Ace Hardware store would be a enormous asset to the city of Carencro, since it would be (in) the city and the (only) hardware store. Ace Hardware Corp. could get the jump on purchase of building.

I try to shop your stores as much as possible instead of the large store down the street. I bought one of your 12/3 extension cords and it’s made in china like most of your stuff. I’ll bet you and your stores are kicking butt raking in the money from us stupid Americans while the chinese take over and militarily fortify islands in other countries’ territory. You will soon be in the same class as that chinese junk store called harbor freight. I looked online at American made extension cords and they are at or below your prices for a similar product. Has the word gouging crept into your vocabulary in recent board meetings. This customer is almost finished.

I hope that your company values families and keeping them together when they want nothing more than to stay together. I hope that you consider who you are advertising to. The hardworking, FAMILY loving clients that love your product will continue to purchase from their local ACE Hardware if you stand up for YOUR COMPANY’S VALUES. Please continue to STOP advertising on FOX – especially the Laura Ingraham hour. People like her DO NOT REPRESENT the vast majority of people that frequent your stores.

I really like to shop at my local Ace because of selection and customer service, and I’m a rewards member. I usually shop after doing some research, and that’s where Ace falls way short, because the website search engine is terrible. Find an item on Amazon or eBay or Home Depot, and enter the common name for it on the Ace site, and it comes up “0”, time after time. The “suggested items” don’t cut it either.
PLEASE UPDATE THE WEBSITE TO BE COMPETITIVE AND USER FRIENDLY.

To the CEO of Ace Hardware,
You made a terrible decision to cut your advertising on Fox news because the Little Punk Hood, hired by Soros, Clinton Crime Foundation and Obama told you that Laura Ingram should be Boycotted. Who do you think your customers are? You think they are the Liberal College Professors who hate America? Or the Corrupt Liberal Politicians called “The Washington Elite”? Or all the Liberal Social Media sites? Maybe all the Liberal lying Media?
“Your customers are Conservative Rural America God Fearing Law Abiding Citizens!”
Don’t ever forget that. We support Trump, Obviously your company has a hard time supporting A God Fearing Leader?
I and millions of your customers were going to #BOYCOTTACE after you decided that you wanted to follow Wickedness, Evil and The Devil rather than God.
What is it about America that you do not like?

“The information we had at the time of the initial request was incomplete, and we apologize for that,” the spokeswoman told The Wrap in an email. The company has not “altered our current media schedule,” she said, adding that Ace “regularly reviews our media strategy.”
Ace was singing a different tune in a statement announcing its initial decision to pull ads. “I can confirm that we do not have any plans to nationally advertise on Ingraham’s show in the future,” the same spokeswoman told The Wrap on April 5.
Ace’s decision to reverse course is the first time a company has publicly resumed advertising on Ingraham’s program after cutting loose its support after her comments on Parkland high school shooting survivor David Hogg.

Why?….if you care to know…….You are pulling your ads and support from Laura Ingraham’s Spot on Fox News because of a little bad boy from Florida. David Hogg does not speak for the students only the activists. They looked for weak and you have shown yourselves to be weak. I agree with Laura….why would a 4.3 GPA student not be accepted at major colleges he applied to? Could it be his bad attitude and vulgar mouth? Many of the injured students are even beneath him and he treats them like they do not and did not exist. Does this sound like a young man you should support over a woman who constantly seeks the truth in media? Think about it.
