American Apparel was founded in 1989 by Dov Charney while he was a freshman at Tufts University.
In 1997, the company headquarters moved to Los Angeles. Charney sub-contracted his sewing to Sam Lim. Charney and Lim became partners two months later.
In 2000, the company moved to a warehouse in downtown LA. The company was primarily a wholesaler of t-shirts at this time.
The company eventually moved into retail and was an Inc 500 company in 2005.
In 2006, the company went through a reverse merger and was listed on the ASE.
In 2010, Deloitte and Touche resigned as auditors for the company after the companies 2009 financial statements were determined to be unreliable. The SEC filed an investigation.
Today, American Apparel operates over 300 retail locations. The company is still a major wholesaler of basic sold color garments.

I received the same email from Mr. Jim Cokely, requested images regarding rebranding of American Apparel. There was also a reference to Conceit Magazine. Which I goggled the magazine where I found “Jim” as part of the team. So I too am wondering if this is legit or just spam email.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

To whom it may concern,
My name is Nancy Aguilar and I was not entirely sure who I should reach out to about my matter so I hope my email is read by the right person. I was reached out to not too long ago by one of your Project Managers, Kelly Rux after applying for your Sales Coordinator Position in Los Angeles. She contacted me and asked me to set up an interview time with her, I was very excited to receive her email and to find out that your company was interested in meeting with me. Once I got back to Kelly I never heard back from her again which I found very strange. I tried emailing her a few more times and I still did not hear anything back. I’m not sure if my emails just were not received or what exactly happened so I decided to reach out to somebody else because I am very much interested in working for your company and would love to meet with somebody for an interview. I appreciate your time and I hope to hear back from somebody soon. You can reach me at my email or my phone number is (626) 428-XXXXX.
Thanks again,
Nancy Aguilar

They are embracing the natural state of a woman . Society tells women we have to shave our legs and pubic area but men don’t. They are simply embracing women.

Its that time again…South by Southwest is approaching and hundreds of thousand’s of people are slowing prepping and migrating to Austin, Texas for the annual convergence of Technology, Film and Music.
Now is your chance to take part in this exciting magazine launch party and watch your “cool” factor instantaneously jump. Your company can be on the same advertisements as some of the hottest musical acts in the country as a sponsor of the Devise Magazine launch party.
I know that you are interested so when you have some time, feel free to call me so we can discuss some more of the details.

I think the model you have in the NY store window is disgusting , your making fun of female bodies , showing pubic hair on a model is very low class I will never buy your clothing again.
