They have a power line that runs the west fence line of my cow pasture. They accessed my property in June cut down 6 trees and lauded them down into a swamp. In July we had a bad storm come through and took down the line that runs down my west fence line they again accessed my pasture to make repairs. They tied a pole of to my fence post and left it there. I untied it from my fence post like 4 or 5 days after they were done with the repairs. I left it hanging from the pole. I ask one of the guys from asplund when they were out there about the trees they cut down and left in my swamp that I train my Labrador’s in. He told me to call aep forestry division that they were not supposed to do that sh*t. ( his words when I showed him). But those guys from asplund piled there cut branches on my downed fence and threw more further up into my pasture. This was a downed cherry tree from the adjoining property. The wilting leaves create a poison very deadly to livestock. They only cut the tree back to the downed fence so I had to go out cut up the stuff on the fence remove all of the debris they piled on the fence

This is my 5th message over the last 6 months that my issue has not been resolved. I’m sure there will be no response to this like the others. My issue has been to get a lightning arrestor replaced that was damaged from a storm last year. the only part of the arrestor that is left is the bracket and ground wire that is swinging in the breeze. I have been given excuses of we are extremely busy to we will repair it within 30 days. Customer service for this has been the worst ive seen for a job that would take 30 minutes to do. I’m sure if it was someone in the company that needed a repair it would be completed quickly.

My bane is Gary Abraham and I live at 261 Basham Road in Rock WV. Last week I sent a message regarding the trimming of trees on the above mentioned Basham Road. I want to take a minute to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking action regarding my issue. Asplundh, the tree trimming people were out this Monday and have all of the trees trimmed back to my satisfaction. I truly appreciate it. Thanks again. Gary 🙂

Please let me know more about this civil action law suit! I am on a very low income and it’s very hard to live no days and now I’m having to deal with AEP, ripping me and lots of other people I know Off! My electric bill has trippled! I am using a lot less than I used to but the bill keeps getting higher and higher! I even went as far as heating with wood and the bill still went up! This is nothing but AEP taking advantage of people for their own profits! Last month as the weather warmed up a little all of a sudden, without making any changes in the use of electric than the months before, My electric bill went down $25???? It’s still not where it should be and they are still ripping me off! These new digital meter reading devices are wrong! They are not accurate at all! Bring back the meter readers that used to come to your home every month and read the meters manually! All Of Them! This needs to stop! Looks like we the people are going to have to do it! So yes! Please let me know more about this lawsuit so I and thousands of other people will know to!

Please let me know when the class action lawsuit is filed. They hiked our bills during this winter’s cold snaps, denied us THREE times we requested payment, and then turned off our electricity TODAY (ahead of the April 25th cut-off deadline. Monopoly, price-gouging. The great AEP Way!
WV resident says
AEP is doubling people’s bills in January of 2018 and committing an obvious act of fraud on their customers.
I will be filing a class action lawsuit against them for overcharging and fraud. AEP claims the bills were high because of the recent cold weather. That is a lie. I have resided in my home for 23 years and the highest bill I have EVER received was for $239. This month’s bill was almost $450.
I spoke to my neighbor who highest bill ever was $200. She has lived in her home for 17 years. Her most recent bill for January 2018 was over $340.
This is fraud and AEP will refund this money or they will be facing the consequences of their thieving actions. This is STEALING. This is THIEVERY and AEP is committing these criminal acts and that State of WV, the Attorney General’s office, the Public service commission are IGNORING it so this must be taken into our own hands with a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit will be filed with the same firm that settled the water contamination complaint if anyone is interested in joining this class action suit.

I Pastor a 501c3 not for profit that since 2013 has housed, fed and clothed to poor at Doulos Chapel, 608 South St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Indiana 46601. The service is in my name: Mario Sims. We have never had service disconnected in those three years. We exist on financial gifts and contributions and have had to ask for extension service of a few days so service would not be disconnected several times. We have always paid our bills. Now when I asked Brandon, a Supervisor, yesterday for a extension to pay $345.00 so we will not be disconnected I am lectured and told we must pay it by today or have service disrupted. We have applied for grants from AEP to no avail. Service shut off will cause us to lose refrigeration and have to find housing for the homeless people.

I am writing in regards to a message that was left in my Facebook messages by an employee who states on her personal page that she works for AEP. After contacting your FB page, I was directed to the Appalachian AEP district out of or near Point Pleasant, West Virginia. I am not sure if Cathy Neville is an employee of yours, but I would like to share with the corporate office the type of individuals you have working for your company. Ms. Neville posted a comment on 10tv’s webpage on Facebook, and I commented, nothing derogatory, just stating my opinion about her stating an individual should be hung in the town square. I called her out on her “fake profile” under the name Cathie Marie, what this individual failed to realize is that she used her actual picture on the fake profile page. This fake page didn’t have any information other than her name and pic.
After investigating, the face matched up with a Cathy Neville out of Point Pleasant, WV. On her personal FB page she states that she is employed by your company. I contacted AEP through FB, and they kindly apologized and gave me the phone number and e-mail address for your corporate office, and let me know about Appalachian Power via AEP.
I want you all to know that if this is actually your employee, she took it upon herself to come to my personal FB page and leave some of the nastiest comments. I have screen shot all of her words, and really would like for you to address this issue if she is in fact an employee of yours. With the heated divide between this country and people getting on social media to display such hate, it is my duty to stand up and speak out. I have shared her nasty comments with over 500 people, and have assured them that I would be reaching out to you today. I am willing to share the e-mails, if someone would kindly send me an e-mail address. I know that it is the holidays, and I am also saving this e-mail. I would like to be contacted ASAP about this matter. I am sure that this individual is not what AEP stands for, however you also need to be made aware of the type of people in which your company employees.
I can be contacted at 614-260-XXXXX or through this e-mail address.
Thank you,

I recently bought a house and had to use AEP in order to have power, I have not used AEP in many years but due to the week I have had, we will be moving again soon somewhere that does not have AEP coverage, I am so disgusted by your actions that I am willing to sell my home and move again.
When I had my service turned on, I was never called or had any contact with AEP, I did everything online. When I received my first bill last week to my shock it was $2,200.24. Knowing there is no way one month’s bill could be so high I called. I was told it was from a past due balance from 2011. The service address, is an address I never lived at or knew anyone who lived there. I was told that while I sort out the problem I could make payment arrangements, but I had to talk to the collection department. I waited for a call from them and spoke with them and let them know I would be disputing it. She told me I would need to turn in doXXXXentation proving my side of the story and she was going to call the owner of the address in question. She called me back to tell me the owner told her I did in fact live at the address, I was at work so she left a message. I work Monday-Friday 8-5 and have very limit time to make or receive personal phone calls during those hours. The next day I went to see the owners and they had no idea who I was and said that I had not lived there but they had my name down as someone who did. ON Monday I called again to the collections department to give them the information but no one answered, I called again and still no one answered. The next day my power was shut off, while my 14, 9, 6, 3 and 1 year olds were home with their babysitter in the middle of cooking lunch. We do not have anywhere to go, so they sat in the house all day with no power.
I was told in order to get my power turned back on I had to pay the balance of $2200.24. This was the past due they say I owed and my current my month that I actually owe. They only take payments thru their automated system that only allows you to pay $500 at a time. In the process of trying to pay I was locked out of their payment system and told there was no way to unlock it, I had to wait 24 hours. I couldn’t wait 24 hours I had to get it back on for my kids. I spent a total of 5 hours talking with people and trying to pay just so I could have my power turned back on. I finally found a way, without the help of anyone at AEP, to pay my bill. After some time and struggle I paid the $2200.24. I called and spoke to a really rude girl and asked to have it turned back on, she said no because I had not paid the total amount due. I was told several times the balance was $2200.24 which is even what my bill stated but now she was telling me I had to pay another $45 to have it turned back on. Really??! I just paid $2200 and you are worried about $45?!?!?!?!? Come on people, how ridiculous can you get?!?!?!?!?!
1. No customer should be able to get power turned on if they owe a bill that you are not willing to work with them on.
2. I was not charged a deposit to get power but then once it got shut off you charged me a deposit.
3. I got a bill for $2200.24 but then was told I had to pay a $76 re-connect and a $68 deposit but only had to pay $2246?? What kind of math if that??
4. You employees are rude and unhelpful. Every supervisor I spoke with claimed they were the highest level employee I could talk to.
5. If my current balance was not past due, why did I have to pay it to have power turned back on?
I will be taking legal action against AEP. I do not owe the past due balance, there is no proof that I owe it. I never got a bill for any balance. I should not have been able to get service with a balance that big. I had to miss work. My kids suffered, You shut my power off with them inside without allowing for the breakers to be properly shut off. I expect to receive information on where to submit my doXXXXents proving I did not live at this residence and therefore do not owe the balance I was forced to pay and the information to send to my lawyer for your legal department.

I retired from AEP at the end of 2004 and would like to introduce, Dale and Nisa Ryan of RSI Inc. Although I was not in the Transmission and Distribution end of the business, I knew a tad as I began as a switchboard operator in 1965 in Roanoke VA for APCo.
Speaking solely as a former employee of Accounting and Credit Policy and Payment Administration, I was quite impressed with the presentation and plan to make an investment.
I have, of course, not even tried to keep up with all of the corporate changes so I would appreciate your providing an appropriate AEP individual for an initial contact.
Thanking you in advance for this consideration.
