Plant Therapy has its roots in the acquisition of a natural body care company named Posergy by Chris and Amanda Jones in 2009. Posergy’s product line included essential oils. After a few years of research, the Jones decided to start a company that provided high-quality essential oils, and Plant Therapy was born.
In addition to a vast array of essential oils, the company also sells oil diffusers, aromatherapy books, jewelry, natural body care, and accessories.
Due to the coronavirus crisis of 2020, prices for essential oils might hit a downward trend with less consumer demand.
Plant Therapy is #31 in the 2015 Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America with a three-year growth rate of 7,854% and $8.1 million in revenue in 2014. The company is #1 in the Inc. list of Top Idaho Companies and #5 in Top Retail Companies.

I spoke with the supervisor Kayla in customer service regarding my subscription. The subscription was scheduled for 8/24, yet on 8/23 when I contacted customer service on a Sunday, they stated that my order was completed and shipped. My account shows that this was scheduled for 8/24 and in the pending status. I was on the chat and Kayla (supervisor) said I would need to refuse the package and then after they received the refused package, I would be refunded in 3-5 days. I received an email regarding my upcoming shipment at 7:10Pm CST 8/23/2020, which stated that if I needed to make any changes to this order, to log into my account and make these changes. While on the chat regarding this, I was told the order was complete and nothing could be done accept to refuse the package, wait for it to return to the warehouse, then they would refund. After nearly 1 hour of going back and forth, I was finally refunded (but, had to wait 3-5 days to get my refund) and to refuse the package when it attempts delivery. At no point did the Supervisor offer any type of promo or credit for the company taking my money 1 day early without my permission and against my wishes. In fact, I had to mention a promo or credit to my account to the agent, I was given a promo that the agent stated was insufficient for the inconvenience and Kayla offered nothing more. Kayla stated that since I was refunded that was all she could do. Now I am waiting for 3-5 days to get the money back that shouldn’t have ever been taken and I am to refuse a delivery. I have been a very loyal customer and this was my first time to deal with PT’s customer service department. I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled, not to mention how long it took just to get refunded for an amount that was taken early without my approval. I am searching for another company to purchase my oils from due to this matter and if this is how management handles situations that are in fact, illegal, then I don’t want to do business with this company anymore.
