Greetings,
I would like to offer my services to Alliant Energy in the field of employee training of your company by presenting a deeper understanding of basic technical knowledge that may surface in any electrical work environment.
I have had the privilege of training employees of John Deere (Ankeny) for almost 12 years (within the human resource department) which included assembly training, weld training, computer skills, skills testing, new hire training, and basic electrical training.
In addition, while at John Deere, I also served (and still do) as an adjunct electronics/electrical instructor at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny where my major emphasis was basic electricity and motor controls.
My past students have been from Diamond Crystal (Bondurant), Barilla (Ames), Dan Foss (Ames), and many smaller companies in the central Iowa area.
If this type of training would be of interest please contact me as my winter schedule is currently filling up quickly.
Sincerely,
George A. Hafkey

I have been within electricity for 19 hrs. I have lived in my house for 40 yrs and the most my electric has been out is 6 hrs! I have water that continually flows in my basement and without our sump pump running my basement floods. My husband works away but managed to get a hold of a generator which we are hoping saved washer dryer furnace etc. but I don’t now how long that is going to run! I called to let you guys know one of your parts on the pole is hanging right up the rd. Since we are the only ones in this area this could be our problem! I let you know over 5 hrs ago asking for one of your guys to swing by and re hook it! To see if that is our problem and no one has??? You need to read your mission statement!!! I will have loss of property if I can’t keep generator running!!! My basement will flood!! This is different then just having no electric! Read and listen to all my calls!!! Check out your outage map I’m the only 1 out near me?? And I hope my generator keeps running!! And pls explain to me why someone in over 5 hours couldn’t hook that up and see if that’s my issue being my basement floods??? What does your mission statement say???? I’ve been out of electricity for 19 hours and it’s been over 5 since I made you aware of the unhooked piece! Why hasn’t anyone done the right thing and came by and hooked that??? I will be waiting on your reply! And pls don’t use the excuse they were to busy and couldn’t send someone to do that in over 5 hours knowing I have basement flooding problems.

My mom moved in to a small town in North Central Iowa and was only there a month and received her first statement from Alliant Energy. It was over $400.00! This is outrageous! There is no way that can be correct. She is a widow and lives there alone. When she called Alliant their best response to her inquiry was to have some one go out to the pole and have someone flip switches inside the house to see if there was something wrong. My mom is 78 years old and on oxygen. Really, do you expect her to do this? She had REC prior to that and lived on an acreage with two outside yard lights and her bill was never more than $150.00. I think Alliant is really inflating charges because we have the same issue with them where we live.

I am attorney for Plastics Engineering Company in Sheboygan Wisconsin. I called a week ago to find someone to discuss possibly getting an expansion of an existing easement we have over WP&L property that contains a substation within the boundaries of our manufacturing facility. WP&L purchased the property in 1960 from Polar Ware, an adjacent manufacturer, in 1960. In 1973, Plastics Engineering Company obtained an easement over roughly the east third of the WPL property (outside the fence for the substation). We would now like to expand the easement are to include a strip on the north side of the WPL property, outside the fence. Please have someone contact me who can help me address this issue. 920-451-XXXX

I entered in to a payment arrangement for the first time and I paid it on time every month..But in June of this year I paid my payment with a prepaid netspend card and I got a confirmation # at the end of the transaction..So I think nothing more of it until I get a letter saying I defaulted my agreement and need to call them..so with further investigation I contacted the bank associated with Nerspend and they Inform me that the payment was held by the business (Alliant Energy) for 2 business days before they rejected to except payment on my account which led my service to be disconnected and told I had to come up with almost $900 to restart service…So I’ve been with out power since Thusrday of last week..If you guys refused my payment how is my fault that I broke the agreement plan and get shut off? The customer service was the rudest I’ve ever dealt and one of them went so far as hanging up on me!
