Larvitta Bailey says
I am a tenant at the MAA Chastain in Atlanta. Since before move in and afterwards I’ve had several issues with my AC. Corporate finally replaced after I was informed that nothing was wrong with an AC that sounded and vibrated like an old loud lawnmower. They still have not corrected the issue with the master bedroom being warmer than any other rooms. This was part of the original complaint. Unfortunately the new AC did not resolve the airflow problem in the master bedroom. I’ve been having upper respiratory symptoms and issues since being in the unit. I have difficulty sleeping because of nose getting clogged from it being stuffy. I can only feel the AC if I’m standing directly under it. I made this complaint to management and she disregarded because they replaced the AC. Even the leasing agent Jody stated the room was a lot warmer than the other rooms and she could not really feel the air. Now after all my request to get some one to look at it Complete Comfort came out last week Nov 7. I’m inputting the conversation with the manager and myself after I reached out today Nov 13 to ask about the followup instead of her teaching out to me…
“Larvitta,
Complete Comfort tested the airflow and verified that there are no damages to the air duct and that everything is working properly.
Thank you,”

“I was told that it was warmer and stuffy in the room and the reason why there was no air circulating throughout the room was because there was no return vent. He stated the solution works be to either add a reyurn vent so that the air can circle throughout the room, and secondly or add an additional airduct.
This has and is a problem. Since living here I’ve had upper respiratory issues that I’ve not had in past. I have stuffy nose, sinus issues, headaches, and getting up throughout the night because of not being able to breath freely as I have when sleeping. I sleep with an air purifer which numbers go into the 60’s and 70’s because of the air. I’ve been sleeping with a humidifier and it’s still not helping. As explained I do not use the fan while sleeping because it contributes to the dry nose and add to respiratory issues. I keep the fan on before going to sleep too help cool the room. I’m paying all this money to sleep in a room that is not producing the side airflow needed. The rest of the place is freezing because I have to turn down the unit on low temperatures just to try and cook the master bedroom. ALL the other rooms are producing an airflow THROUGHOUT thee the rooms. The master bedroom is the only room that only puts out in one direction. The air cannot be felt throughout the room. You have to be standing under it to feel a strong wind otherwise the air is faint. In addition my energy bill is high because of the insufficiency with the air flow. I want continue to do that knowing there is a solution.
What the vendor from Complete Comfort stated to me was different. We all know there is no damage to airduct because the other areas are cooling appropriately. He however acknowledged the difference in temperatures from the rooms and stated the air was not circulating as should and explained why above. I’ve lived in several places and have not experienced this!
Please correct this issue. I’m not going to pay all this money to be uncomfortable. The vendor provided solutions. I don’t care if there is no damage to the duct.”
