a**holes. This isn’t the contact information for Farmers insurance. It’s the connection to their website which forces you to sign in which means any complaints you make goes straight to your agent not to Famers. Clean this mess up or remove it and stop giving people false infoarmation
Tammy Robinson says
This site offers contact info, which means the corporate office phone number, address, fax number (if available) and the names of the current executives in charge. CEOs don’t give out their personal phone numbers for text messages.

Hi,
I haven’t worked for Farmers in over 20 years. I am in the process of updating my resume and I need to know the dates I worked for Farmers. Who do I contact to get that information?
Mark Peters says
You do not want to be involved with these people Farmers uses their GOOD HANDS to slap people around and nothing more. I was rear ended last month and Farmers has said I was tapped, even though I have damage of around $800 to my car and they hang up on me when I ask to have seeing a doctor covered for pain I have had for the last week plus. STAY AWAY..
Tino Morales says
Farmers insurance is an insurance entity that is happy when collecting policy premium and cancels the policy when you are late on paying your premium, but when it is time to pay for a claim they go out and use a third party suggested pay out prices. These prices are lower than the actual cost to do the job.
John W McCree says
They are by far the WORST!!! After filing a claim after some lightning damage, they sent out a third party vendor and denied the claim because the unit was “old.” It worked prior to the lightning. My HVAC repairman said it was struck by lightning. Farmers could not prove if it was or wasn’t struck by lightning. After THREE DECADES with Farmers, I cancelled and went with another carrier. I’m thankful because we are now insured for $900 less. GOOD RIDDANCE!
Julie Goodfield says
“James Capbarat is dishonest and denied that I had requested full coverage from the rep I spoke to over the phone. That rep did not send me an email immediately verifying my coverage, but only sent me a card that said I had liability insurance. A few days later, I receive an email that Mr. Capbarat was my insurance agent. I like Farmers Insurance, but unfortunately they made the poor choice of hiring a rat like James Capbarat.”
~Julie Goodfield
Angel Ramos says
So today I wanted to apply for Homeowners Insurance with these jokers and I was denied because there is a limit of one wind and one water damage to a previous or current home according to the agent and this exceeded Farmers claim policy as to how many claims you can previously submitted regardless of insurance carrier. Mind you, that these “two claims” were for two separate homes and both claims have been closed. So I guess now we have to consult with Mother Nature to make sure she does not act up because it’s going to affect the insurance or make sure we pullout a magic ball to look into the future and anticipate a bursting pipe. Farmers can keep their services for all care, there’s tons of other insurance companies out their who are not that ridiculous, but I felt I should voice my opinion on Farmers business practice.
Peter Chandler says
I wonder if this report is Zurich laying the groundwork for reducing the company’s exposure to the risks from Climate Change having seen the numbers in the IPCC report from South Korea? In the same way that an insurance company may refuse to pay a claim for theft from an open / unlocked / unattended building, then is Zurich now saying that we are publishing a warning that insufficient action has been taken to mitigate Climate Change, and therefore the company can legitimately reduce claim payments to reflect lack of action by the claimant to mitigate Climate Change? Perhaps by assessing the Climate Change element of any storms, and reducing liabilities covered by that element when there has been no Climate Change mitigation by the claimant, or perhaps if the Climate Change element increases a storm intensity above the threshold for that storm to create flooding, then completely reject the flood losses claim as their evidence would suggest that the storm would not have created a flood without the Anthropogenic Climate Change element?

This then leads to the interesting question about the contribution of the fossil fuel industries, as they have taken quite significant steps to create confusion over the science of Anthropogenic Climate Change to reduce mitigation, with the consequence that Climate Change has progressed faster than would have done had the reality of the situation not been clouded by fossil fuel industry PR and funding of research to shed doubt on climate science, hence Climate Change losses are therefore significantly higher, a cost picked up by the insurance industry without the benefit of the increased profitability of the fossil fuel industries from lack of Climate Change mitigation?
thinkprogress.org/fossil-fuel-industry-outspends-environment-groups-on-climate-new-study-231325b4a7e6/
No doubt the fossil fuel industries will have considered the increased losses, and compared those losses to the lost revenue from seriously mitigating Climate Change and found it more profitable to obfuscate as the tobacco industries did when the long term consequences of tobacco smoking started to become clearer, similar to Ford and their choice not to use a safer fuel tank design for the Ford Pinto as the cost of implementing the design exceeded the projected losses from using the less safe design? I dont understand how a company can insure a car that was totaled and then not give me back my policy money, they tell me the policy was still valid but the car was totaled and the policy should of stopped, they also say well you signed the policy, yes I did to make it effective when I needed insurance on my car. Funny thing I am Korean woman so they think I am not worth the time, but I have something most people dont have, dual citizen ship.
Katie says
First, I love my dual citizenship
Second most important, company needs signed request to cancel the car, even if it was total loss, they can back date. Request has to have date of cancelation what is one day after total loss. Your agent sure can help.

On March 19, 2018, Tyler MacDonald, field claims representative, inspected a lightning damaged chimney at 2046 North Fourth Street, Columbus, Ohio. Farmers decided the chimney collapsed due to “wear and tear” and denied coverage for damages.
I dispute this decision. There are four chimneys on that roof, all of the same age. Only the chimney hit by lightning collapsed, the others are in good condition. I am enclosing a statement from Capparuccini Builders who inspected and repaired the chimney in question. He describes the solid condition of the bricks that had to be chiseled away to repair the lightning struck portion of the chimney. The collapsed portion of the chimney was not due to wear and tear as Farmers concluded.
We have been long time, loyal Farmer customers with 12 property and two vehicle policies without one claim. It is unfair of your company to use one opinion which I dispute, to deny coverage when I have paid multiple (14) premiums for years and then Farmers does not honor the coverage. You lie in your adds and I plan to take my business elsewhere.

What CRAP! service. Kelly, the supervisor at 800-498-4167, x33317, was supposed to be at her phone on Friday, November 24th. She gave me the time and zone. No answer. Was told that they were not open. Called four times later in the day and left a message. No return. I finally had to call back and pay. Too bad that idiot!! charged me the wrong amount and now I have to wait for a refund on difference.
This is it. After this I will not use Farmers. I have no time since it was a new house and car policy that I cannot just run of when it is due now. I left Geico and whoever. What a mistake. I would rather pay more for better service.
I just left Suzie Elliott the HR Director at Farmers a message to call.

Hi, I’ve never in my 61 years on this earth had such bad business dealings that I’ve had since the short time I’ve been a Farmers customer! As soon as my six months are up I plan on getting as far away from your company, mainly it’s your agents. The one I unfortunately contacted is Jess Truittt in South Jersey. I was with Aig then 21st century for over 30 years and with Allstate for my homeowners insurance for 35 years claim free I might add. Then 21st stopped writing policy in N.J. That’s when my trouble started ,the agent does everything but her job,you can never reach her, she is totally incompetent. I decided to go with Farmers for both auto and homeowners insurance. She never followed up on any doXXXXents, just took my money. My auto policy was cancelled less than two weeks after I got it, Because the agent never sent in the doXXXXents ! It was a good thing I never cancelled my homeowners insurance, due to her not responding to my phone calls or emails trying to find out if my policy was in effect,so I just kept my original Allstate homeowner insurance. Now I’m being charged for having Farmers homeowners insurance for two weeks I was not aware of because she never responded . And now threaten with a collection agency, I never been late on a bill my whole life and have perfect credit! I most say that customer service is good hen you call but they give the wrong email addresses when I tried to send in the proper doXXXXents more than once .Why does Farmers’s not provide employees business emails
addresses. With the agents you have it’s a must because there useless and the need to handle things yourself. Why don’t you do away with these so called agents that don’t know there ass from a hole in the ground ,and just let customers do everything online themselves? The insurance was priced right but the agent and their bullXXXXX is unbelievable . When my 6 months are up in done with Farmers and it can’t happen fast enough ! 21s century was a good company that I never had problems with and I’m sad they stopped writing policy’s.

I must admit that each time I see a commercial for Farmers Insurance, I cringe a bit. Formerly the ads made me smile and think who does their marketing? Yet, now, a spark of anger ignites and I am thrust back into “accident mode.” However, this latest conversation with your agent, Beatrice (her only means of identifying herself and I had to be the one to ask) further encroaches upon my peace.
I will begin with Gregory Troy Swain, my first agent. Just days after the accident, Mr. Swain called with an offer of $1000 to settle the accident. A few days later, I received a letter echoing the same. All this before diagnosis/treatment.
Mr. Swain left the company and I was transferred to Nate Vanderpol. After a few months, I contacted Mr. Vanderpol that I wanted to end this chapter and settle the claim (hoping it may help me to continue the healing process). We went through the usual paperwork.
Again, after some time and not hearing from Mr. Vanderpol, I called to learn that he was in Houston taking care of those affected by the hurricane; and that I was again transferred to someone else. Of course, I was not informed who that someone was, only that “someone” would be in touch, who by the way was asking her supervisor for an approval amount upon which to settle.
That brings me to Beatrice who called on Wednesday, September 27th. I’m sure she must be a lovely person who chooses to do her job with diligence, excellence, and professionalism. I want to believe that is the case with every person who elects to work with and interact with the public. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
Beatrice began her call with I’d like to close the claim and offered $1700+. I asked her to please stop (I am still recovering from the brain injury/concussion caused by the accident. I needed her to slow down and I asked her, “What is your name? I like to know with whom I’m speaking.”
After Beatrice went on, I asked her how did she arrive at that figure. She stated that “since this is only a soft tissue injury – a little PTSD & no broken bones or serious…” I again stopped her. As I spoke, I could hear the sounds of her keyboard clicking at a fast pace. Is she listening to me?
The more Beatrice talked and the sound of the incessant keyboard clicking, the more I felt once again left on the side of the road in a puddle just like Dr. and Mrs. Suzuki did in their haste to leave the scene of the accident.
I asked Beatrice if she was aware that Mr. Swain had offered $1000 just a couple of days after the accident; and now after medical records, you’re adding an additional $700+? How did you arrive at this?
Perhaps Beatrice/Farmers could look at me as a person:
• I incurred a brain injury – a concussion. I was abandoned – left in a state of shock and dazed. I experience horrific headaches and blurred vision; along with the sensation that the left side of my face was protruding a half inch out from the right side of my face. Doctors and Neurologist can verify.
• I incurred a spinal injury. My T5 was twisted to the right while my L4 was twisted to the left affecting my ability to sit, stand, and walk. When I was able to walk with help, I was off balance and “listing” to the left. Doctors and Physical Therapists can verify.
• I incurred a thoracic sprain – a tearing of muscles & ligaments which caused excoriating muscle spasms that I could only refer to as “pain seizures” which also affected my ability to sit, stand, walk or even be touched on that area. Doctors, Physical Therapists, and Therapeutic Massage Therapists can verify.
• I incurred a shifting – a bruising to my ribs as a result of the thoracic sprain so that breathing was labored. Doctors and Physical Therapists can verify.
• As a result of these and other traumas related to the accident, I developed PTSD. I couldn’t drive, both from the effects of my injured body as well as my injured psyche. Anxiety, anger and panic attacks are the norm. Doctors, Neurologists, and Psychologists can verify.
Further, these injuries caused me to lose work and income. I am a tutor. If my brain doesn’t work correctly, I can’t teach. If I don’t teach, I don’t earn my income. I am also a computer/website entrepreneur. If my brain can’t grasp technology, I cannot accept employment and again, loose income. I was forced to curtail my work.
The concussion and post concussive disorder according to my Neurologist, is exacting. The days of terror at finding myself on the road (once I was able to drive again) and being completely lost only to discover minutes later that I was exactly where I meant to be were agonizing periods filled with torment, torture, and terror.
I find Beatrice’s offer insulting; her attitude dismissive, patronizing, and completely void of human feeling. And yes, it did set off a PTSD episode that took hours to settle down. I don’t wish to speak to, or have any further dealings with Beatrice (I was never given a last name). Instead, I want to deal directly with a supervisor – someone who has some authority as well as some human kindness – compassion is a plus.
I pray Beatrice never incur the likes of “only soft tissue damage” as I did. And I look forward to hearing from a representative quickly. I want this behind me.

The roof guy well he was drunk and fell off the roof and ended up in the hospital. We have video of it. The adjuster and his manager are not nice and rude. I am a 26 year retired disabled Veteran that still serving the Veteran’s hospital for the last ten years. I have had a home policy for a few years with Farmers.
In the last couple of months I received a cancellation notice of my policy that really concerned me. I’ve always have had a difficult time reaching the agent and at times was dealt with in a rude manner. After several attempts to contact her I was in formed that the agent changed my policy with out my consent. Disciplinary actions are warranted.
Now I received an overdue payment notice and with a cancellation if not paid.
I had left several messages this week trying to contact Mrs. Wright with no response.
I am done dealing with this sort of incompetence. I am cancelling my policy as of today. Please see that this is dealt with immediately for the sake of others.

She has had all of her insurance with Farmers for the last 12 years, including flood insurance which covered contents. However in 2010 the insurance issued a new policy and left off contents because of a change in the zone. The agent did not call Jennifer and ask what she wanted, they just sent a declaration page but it was not the same coverage she had before. I am asking and expecting you to make an exception in her case because of her years of patronage to Farmers Insurance.

Farmers Insurance Company Cheats Elderly Victim Out Of His Claim!
Farmers Insurance Should Pay-Up!
Robert Perkins is the victim of a rear-end collision on Jan. 10th 2017 which resulted in significant damages to his vehicle. Julie Smith (juliesmith@farmersinsurance.co.) is the specialist claims representative who is believed to be the cause of a bad faith coverage analyses and poor investigation that resulted in the denial of Mr. Perkin’s claim for damages. In her coverage denial letter dated March 15, 2017, in response to Perkins Notice of Claim, Smith falsely claims that Farmers “completed” an “investigation” and makes a baseless claim that Mr. Perkins is 50% at fault. No adequate investigation: No sworn Affidavits or evidence have been provided to Mr. Perkins to support Ms. Smith’s claim that an investigation by Farmers Insurance occurred or that proof exists supporting the allegation that Mr. Perkins had no tail lights, furthermore, that claim clearly contradicts the Police Report, as well as, Mr. Perkins statement.
Daniel Swartos was the driver of the vehicle that Struck Mr. Perkins from behind. Mr. Swartos is the Insured under Farmers Policy number: 3007818707-1-1. Mr. Swartos commented to the investigating police officer that he was “zoned out” from too much driving (see the police report). If Mr. Swartos was zoned out to the point to where he crashed his vehicle into the back of Mr. Perkins vehicle it is not likely that Mr. Swartos statement that Mr. Perkins did not have his lights on would be credible to a jury.
At this point, the matter in controversy exceeds the sum of 75,000.00. Farmer’s underwriters makes coverage decisions under its collision policies with respect to its insureds located in this district using special claims agents. By making its coverage denial decisions through its Special Claims Representative at the National DoXXXXent division, which decisions were made in bad faith and in a manner that tortuously interfered with Plaintiff’s rights and benefits under the insured’s Collision Policy, Farmers engaged in wrongful conduct that was not privileged but instead was motivated by an illegal design to obtain in bad faith unwarranted premium windfalls and to reduce claims costs through the tortious interference with Farmers contract with its clients. It was foreseeable that Farmers bad faith would cause substantial harm to potential victims needing to make legitimate claims against the insureds policy. On information and belief, Plaintiff further allege that Farmers has engaged in pattern and practice of wrongful denial of claims. Farmers knows or is reckless in not knowing that its bad faith claim decisions would have a direct and immediate harmful impact on its other insureds in this District.
On June 12, 2017, Robert Perkins served an OFFICIAL NOTICE OF CLAIM FOR DAMAGES on Respondent’s Farmers Insurance, Daniel and Maria Swartos. Mr. Perkins requested reimbursement for damages to his vehicle caused by insured driver Daniel Swartos in the amount of $4,000.00 and an additional $1,000.00 to cover his legal research and preparation fees. See Exhibit B (Notice Of Claim letter). In an effort for quick resolution rather than costly litigation, Mr. Perkins did not request any additional payment for punitive damages, Breach of Contract, emotional stress or loss of income. Mr. Perkins claim of Defendant Mr. Swartos’ negligence is supported by the Police Report. See Exhibit C (State of South Dakota investigators motor vehicle traffic accident report). There is no evidence on record that Mr. Perkins was driving without tail lights as alleged by Farmers claims representative Julie Smith. Mr. Perkins stated that he would use his flashers to alert truckers it was safe to pass, or that his headlights were dim in the bad weather are not indications that he had no tail lights. In fact, to the contrary, his statement confirms his lights were, in fact, functioning at the time of the accident. See: Attached Affidavit of Robert Perkins

This is probably a waste of time after reviewing the many many emails already listed, but I do agree with all of them and then some. Your agents all selling a product they do not know anything about even after being told by a knowledgeable person. I was told my situaion would be solved If my agent Mark Schlegel at the time would have confirmed the conditions under which the problem arose. However, that is impossible since he has no knowledge of Farmers policies and the BALLS to admit he was wrong. I had to inform him of the facts and he still did not admit he was wrong. Then after his staff lied for him he had the nerve to tell me I have taken to much of his time and tried to cover his ass with more coverage which would do nothing for my policy. Oh well, I have now gotten a better picture of Farmers and how you lie, cheat, have no respect for policyholders. Your upper management is only interested in big bonuses even if you have to rob your policyholders. Anything else said is not going to change Farmers but loss of enough customers. Good Bye and bad luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: Re: Ms. Jessica Schmidt’s letter- on policy AP 359 1759
Hello, Mr. CEO.
Please reference letter below this letter, which I emailed to you, June 18, 2017. I, later, received a mailed letter from Jessica Schmidt, Senior Product manager.
In that letter, at no time did I request a courtesy credit for my policy, AP 259 1759.
I am incensed with Ms. Schmidt’s response. She did not address the issue. My issue was Ms. Carla Branch’s tone and handling of me. My issue was Mr. Robert McCollough’s, Ms. Branch’s manager, ignoring all my calls and not giving me the courtesy of a return call. They do NOT represent the Executive Office in good fashion. In fact, I find it hard to believe they are on an executive level.
I have been a policy holder with 21st Century, since 1983. Your records, for some reason, reflect 1988. Either way, I have been a FAITHFUL customer for many, many, many, many years.
Please reference my letter below; then see the letter Ms. Schmidt wrote to me. Her letter is dated June 19 and I presume is on record.
As a faithful customer, I want to know why Ms. Branch’s insolence was not addressed. Why Mr. McCollough’s completely ignoring me and giving me NO attention was not addressed in Ms. Schmidt’s letter. I should have been given the courtesy of a call back from Mr. McCollough.
Ms. Branch had been rude to me before over a gift card I was supposed to receive from referring a new customer.
I am demanding that I hear from someone high up to give me the deference which should be accorded a long time faithful policy holder. Actually, any policy holder. A policy holder who has an automatic payment taken out of my credit card for payments, for years.
Ms. Schmidt insulted me by completely ignoring what I wrote about; what concerned me. She addressed this in NO MANNER.
I already just canceled my Farmer’s Homeowners Policy because of issues—rate hikes and service. I am leaning heavily towards canceling my Auto policy because of Ms. Branch, Mr. McCollough and now Ms. Schmidt.
I definitely will not be referring clients, as I have done in the past.
I pray these communiques are reaching you. Not just some level of staff, as Ms. Schmidt, who truly (it’s apparent) did not care about addressing what I wrote about.
Please help me.
Please MAKE SOMEONE, preferably high, high up address my concerns covered in the letter I emailed to you, June 18, 2017.
A very disappointed, dissatisfied and neglected customer,
Patricia Ann Jordan
_—————————
Hello, Mr. CEO.
I am Patricia Ann Jordan, Auto Policy Holder (3591759).
This email is to inform you that about 3 months ago I asked Carla Branch in Specialty Services to have her manager call me. She informed me he would not do anything for me. That no one would. You can pull the call. I insisted that she have him call me, and reminded her of my past issue with her of a similar nature, after she had botched a matter.
After getting off the phone, I remembered I had Mr. McCollough’s cell number. I have called him 3 times since my conversation with Ms. Branch and not heard one single word back. I left extensive messages regarding the reason for the calls. Actually, the last time I called him, he picked up and I assume realizing it was me, didn’t say hello. I could hear him holding a conversation. Finally, I hung up.
This type of treatment by Ms. Branch and Mr. McCollough make me want to cancel my long time auto policy. I just canceled my Farmer’s HO policy, before entering into my 7th renewal period, which would have begun my 8th year. I canceled due to raises every year, with no claims paid. I, also, considered the service I received not adequate. Every year, I had to jump through hoops to get my auto discount to reflect in my policy premium price. This should have reflected automatically. Just one example of not adequate service.
In addition, I was raised over 135% during my policy years. I reiterate, with no claims paid. Shame on Farmers/21 Century.
As a very, very, very, very long time policyholder, I have really noticed a company change for the worse, after the merger with Farmers.
I am now considering canceling my auto policy. I worked hard to develop the relationship and have kept it since 1983. I would like to say, I am adding products not canceling products. I like relationship building.
This email is not just to complain but to give what I believe is important feedback.
I can no longer refer customers to 21st Century, which for over the years, I was infamous. A ripple effect.

I am so disgusted with my agent. I switched over to Farmers in February for my auto and house insurance. In April my rates almost doubled. Come to find out they removed my discount for a dual policy. I have been trying since April to get the discount back on (my agent said there was a glitch in the system). I DON’T BELIEVE HIM!!!! I am still today trying to get the discount back on. I have paid and this month the insurance should be paid for due to the amount I paid the last 2 months. I sent him an email yesterday stating I am contacting corporate do not contact me. What does he do to cover his butt, calls me twice. Once left a message, once did not. When I contacted him and asked him if he knew how to read he said that he was trying to help me. I have had the most horrible experience with the claims department at Farmers Insurance. We experienced some severe storms last month and our house had very bad power surges. The refrigerator went out the oven and stove went out lost two TVs and then and the air conditioner quit working. I called my agent. We started a claim. Hey adjuster called me told me to contact an HVAC technician to come and assess the air conditioner. They came out never had seen this happen to a unit before since it was a different type of freon they said it would be better to replace the unit as opposed to repair it. I got the estimate I sent it in to the adjuster a couple of days later I got a phone call saying that they were going to send a company called HVAC investigators out to my house to assess the air conditioning unit. The technician arrived and said wow I have been doing this for 35 years and never seen this before. A few days later I get another phone call from the adjuster saying that the claim was denied due to normal wear and tear. I then contacted HVAC investigators and requested that they fix the air conditioner unit for the same price that they said that they would fix it for farmers. They told me that the price they gave Farmers Insurance was only if there was a claim and since I was denied I have to pay more. The refrigerator had went out the same night. So I had went and purchased a new refrigerator five days later. Then only to find out that the adjuster required me to contact a repairman to see if the refrigerator and stove could be repaired other than replaced. Come to find out it can be repaired so she wanted me to go without a refrigerator for however many weeks I don’t know. So now I have a brand new refrigerator And I have an old refrigerator that I can either pay money to have fixed or I can pay money to dispose of. My oven still does not work so now I’m going to buy a new one instead of having it repaired. Here again let’s spend more money. Now I am just worried if every time that I ever were to have a claim is this process going to be this horrible? I would have already switched insurances but I think the agent is a great person. Wish he would switch insurance companies. I know you’re not going to care my wife has stage 4 breast cancer. We have no air conditioner unit. And I have no oven.

I have to say that I am totally disgusted that you are a corporate sponsor for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
I am guessing that your company is okay with the vile disgusting things that come out of his mouth. Whether you are Democrat or Republican or whatever I would hope that it would disturb you with what comes out of his mouth and that you continue to sponsor the garbage that he spews.
I will make it known that you are one of the sponsors and get that info out to as many people as possible through Social Media and such . You were a reputable company but so sad you condone his behavior and do nothing about it.
I would not want you to be my company representing me if you represent him. I know I am just a little guy but aren’t we your target to buy your insurance?
Not in a million years as long as you sponsor Stephen Colbert.

My online form application for Auto Insurance was rejected because it said my address (where I’ve been living for over 9 years, otherwise address problem free) was invalid. There was no recourse but to contact you by phone to get my quick online quote. Ironically, I have been receiving Farmer’s Insurance flyers, addressed to this invalid address, for years, the latest coming last week, in the mail. And when I went to the Farmer’s Insurance web site, the email link, “Email Farmer’s Insurance”, took me to a page that had every form of contact BUT email.
Needless to say, my confidence in your company has not been inspired, but I thought I’d let you know, FWIW.

I am not happy with the treatment I’ve received from Farmers Ins. I always pay for my insurance 12 months at a time and on time, so why they decided to pick on me doesn’t make sense. I have two main complaints.
1. When my son turned 18, I was sent a letter to exclude him from driving my car. My son doesn’t even have a driver’s license and lives at college in another state. He actually has his own apartment 12 months out of the year. They wouldn’t accept any justification for not excluding him, and threatened raise my rate if I didn’t fill out the exclusion letter.
2. After completing the exclusion letter, they still raised my rates, so I switched my auto insurance over to another company, which happened to be cheaper with better coverage. Now, Farmers owes me a refund, but instead of sending me a check, they put the balance onto some obscure card that I don’t recognize. I notified the Farmers agent and the response was that it was up to me to work things out with the bank. Only I have no idea what bank.

yaddayadda826 at me.com I have the same issue as John (with the sub-company 21st Century) who wrote about his son and the exclusion from policy letter. I cannot tell you how many calls I made (about 15) and the only thing I get back is another letter with the SAME form…with signatories that are automatic and with whom no one can speak. Even my family member’s name was wrong until I told them that. I indicated that I believed it to be an invasion of privacy, since the only time I called was to make an inquiry about cost to add that person to MY or my family member’s policy. Ultimately, the family member in question decided to NOT get a license and that was that. When I asked how they got ANY info, one agent said “Oh, probably from the DMV.” I replied the DMV would have the RIGHT surname, I would think. Then I went to a supervisor and then to someone else. Yesterday, I got TWO of these stupid ‘effing” letters and after all the calls and frustration, I told the last idiot to “f off.” Today I tried to call to get a CORPORATE OFFICE HEADQUARTERS TELEPHONE number so that I could speak to someone in the CEO’s office (like an ombudsman). The agents I get don’t know the number and do not know the meaning of “stock prospectus.” I am so angry that if I could I’d cancel right now. They all deserve the worst possible punishment. I am adamant about the issue of signing or NOT signing for a person who doesn’t live here. THAT IS MY BUSINESS NO MATTER WHAT!!

Be careful, very careful in even considering writing your Insurance with Farmers.
They are strictly a telemarketing annoyance, with Agents spending their time soliciting business, not acting as professionals. Farmers has low ratings (See: A.M. Best Insurance Ratings Service),
and very poor customer service. My policies were written wrong in almost every way.
The Agent, (Adam Robbins) was more than inept and incompetant, as was his District Manager, Ed McMahan (Scottsdale, AZ Office). They wrote up Landlords Policies (I own
rental properties) as Renters Policies. This would mean I would be MY Tenant in four homes
at the same time. When the District Manager attempted to re-write these policies he left off
a property. On my Umbrella Policy the Agent ‘forgot’ to include these properties.
Caveat emptor, on this company.

Had been with 21st Century (Farmers) auto ins for many years. Cancelled it for few months as car broke down – bought newer car and when called to reinstate coverage, was not informed agency now was Bristol West nor if I wanted electronic paperwork.
Automatically registered me on paperless and even thou I called and send email that I could not retrieve docs and to send via regular mail, all I got was the run-around and that it would cost me more or my ins would be cancelled if I did not send e-signature. At other times over the phone they would claim they mailed the paperwork (lies), and then I would get another notice about cancellation or increase by certain dates which would always be before I would receive the notice. 21 days later and they are still playing games with me. Unable to drive car not knowing if actually covered, I finally went to another company.
Have sent complain letters to Dept. of Ins. in both Ohio and my State, and plan to also file with BBB. You all should do the same.

I filed a claim for water damage with my Farmer’s representative. This was 3 weeks ago. I have water damage, mold from the water damage, I have paid plumbers to come fix the leaks on three different occasions. My rep, Alexa, told said Farmers does not cover mold. She said she would get me the name of a new plumber, quote to remove mold (that I will apparently have to pay for), and a price reimbursement. I have not heard from her for over a week. Farmer’s customer service is horrible and I will also be switching to Hartford.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts. I am not a Farmers insurer, but I have had dealings with Betty Woolman, 12092 Woodside Ave. Lakeside, CA 92040. She wrote a check to me 11-5-10 for items she asked me to purchase for her and her husband. After delivering the items to her I received the check and I returned to my home. Walking into my home I received a telephone call saying to Void the check because she was closing out the account, and she stated she would mail me a replacement.
I was sharing this info with five friends, they all started to laugh. I asked what was the problem. They all said when you receive the check let us know. Today is 4-1-20 and still no check, although I have walked into her office, made phone calls and written notes all reminding her of the check.
She will hang up on the telephone when I call, she yells and says “Get out” when I enter the office (if no one else is in the office).
One occasion she yelled, screamed and acted as though she was having a mental breakdown.
I left the office, but returned thinking she my need help –only to hear her on the phone telling the person how she gets rid of those she owes money to and offering to give a demonstration.
When I shared this with a group they said anyone who has had to make a claim or adjustment will end up leaving the company. If you just pay your monthly or yearly payment then you will not have a problem with Betty — Just don’t expect any service from her.
One of the persons said they had to go to the state insurance agent to get help.
Betty can be very personable when it benefits her.

Policy #194815672
My wife first initiated correspondence with Rossy Diaz months ago in San Diego. After numerous requests for help, we have not progressed at all resolving this matter. A woman named Jessie (619 456-8877) has repeatedly indicated she was resolving this for us, but that simply has not been true.
My wife cancelled our Farmers’ insurance policy on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 5:58 AM (Pacific Time). Subsequently, a collection agency has erroneously sent me letters stating that my past due account remains unpaid. We paid off our account in full. Simultaneously, Jessie proclaimed on numerous occasions that we owed nothing and she was taking care of this for us which again, has not been true.
The collection agency claims we have a debt of $246.88 – a result of a youth good driving certificate which we don’t have nor have we ever received from prior agent Tracy Sekhon. Jessie assured us she would handle this for us, but it is now obvious she cannot. The collection agency needs to be informed by Farmers that there is no debt. Farmers needs to resolve this for us which should have been done months ago.
I have always taken pride in my excellent credit rating and the ineptitude nature of Farmers’ employees in this matter has negatively affected it.
Any assistance for the little guy (me) would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Bill Davis

I, Cecil & Hazel Loving have a neighbor, Warren & Ellen Mueller, who dug a pit 4 feet deep reaching from my property line to the foundation of their home. They lined the pit with pavers to hold the dirt as tall as 3 feet. The pavers did not prevent my fence line from caving in towards their paver wall. The result is my fence is suspended in mid air. The cement driveway is unsupported the full length of the pit because the dirt sluffed off into the hole Warren dug. There was never a building permit obtained from South Jordan City. The standing ordinance is an 8 foot easement along each property line. We contacted Warren and he agreed the property line decay was indeed his fault and he filed a claim 3004243871-1-1 last July 2015. The senior claims adjuster, Dawn Lowe Has been extremely difficult From the very first contact. She told us she could not see any damage from the pictures Warren emailed. Cecil emailed pictures showing the Mueller property side and the Loving side. Dawn emailed “Oh! Now I see the problem. Contact one repair company send me the bid. My son, Chris Loving a licensed contractor emailed a detailed repair scenario. Dawn said Get another! We emailed a bid from T&R cement. Dawn was very displeased. She said it was NOT her intention to make our property situation better after the repair than it was before the incident. We emailed Dawn with pictures of our property line showing no cement cracks EXCEPT at the fence line where the dirt has sifted from under the driveway BECAUSE there is nothing to hold it in place. Dawn called the contractor and asked him to do the work for less money. He gave an honest bid for and honest day’s job. BUT he agreed to lower the bid by $200. Dawn email the Loving’s and said her final offer was $1,102.48 less She said we would have to pay the difference since she was depreciating our cement. We emailed her saying IF she could find a way to pick up concrete and moving in place then depreciation could be applied. Since you must replace new concrete BECAUSE there is NO OTHER WAY. Then depreciation only covers an item that could be substituted. Greg Olsen, our previous Farmer’s agent, said he could do nothing to help! Our current Farmer’s agent, Brent Beard called Dawn, called her superior, called the Utah claims adjuster, they ALL said Dawn would not budge. As the CEO of Farmers Insurance, you might care about your bottom line. Cecil and Hazel Loving currently are covered by 3 Homeowner policies, 2 auto policies, 1 ATV policy. Your quick action to resolve this matter would make a sizable financial difference to you company.

Initially I was told that there was a glitch to me bundling my renters and automotive policy which made my payments extremely high. Next I had a flat tire and called for roadside assistance to find out even though I was paying for this service in my policy I first would have to pay out of pocket which seems crazy question being then why am I paying Farmers. The final straw was that my policy was inaccessible to Farmers agents because the worker that worked or seen my policy was no longer with Farmers in my area and now they have to try and contact her to release my policy but I have decided to go with a better provider “State Farm”.

This matter concerns Randi Jones, Graham, Texas
I had a policy briefly with Randi Jones, Farmers Insurance. When asking what the payment on my policy was, I was told $35 by Lindsay McGeehee, when I went in to pay it to the end of September, I was told it was $55. I canceled my policy at the end of September , notified Farmers Insurance by USPS.
My new policy under a different carrier went into effect 10/1/2015.
NOW, I’m receiving a bill for $45.
I have had enough from this unprofessional agency.
Just want to be done with them.
I often heard Randi Jones speak badly of her clientele within a minute of ending a phone conversation with them or after they had left her office. Some of them heard what she said then canceled their policies.
As an employee it was a major distraction to try to focus on work with her 2 small children running around.
Her system which I solely relied upon went dead 5-7 times per day. When it went dead, I asked Ms Jones what I could do to keep busy. 80% of those times she wasn’t around or was busy on the phone or with clients.
A few days prior to firing me she had told me that I was doing excellent work. On the day she fired me she told me that I am a “mediocre” employee. Very suspicious that so much could change in a few days.
When the system I relied on would go down, with no one there to tell me what else I could do to stay productive , also being new to the line of work & the job, itself, it was very unclear as to what to do. I answered phones, took messages, greeted clients. Had to take messages & apologize that no agent was in at the moment. With 10 – 15 minute lapses during which time the internet was available, yes, I did check my email, I did check Pinterest. I had received verbal permission from Ms. Jones to print pages from the internet. Black & white needlework patterns. She knew of this, I had permission.
I am an awarded Veteran of the USAF, I speak a few languages. Randi Jones gave me a distracting, difficult workspace then expected top notch production.
I was fired then told to leave immediately . Someone else was there to take my place within the hour.
I was treated very unfairly, it leaves a negative impression of Farmers Insurance as well as the shoddy business practices of Randi Jones who claims to be a Christian yet conducts herself otherwise.

My experience with Jason ammann in the Oakland area has been horrible. Friday morning at the University that my son attends. Their was another unfortunate campus shooting. Thank goodness he and the other family I have their are ok. Condolences to the parents of the killed and injured. What’s the connection right. Well with all my concerns friday. I’m running around late afternoon tracking down doXXXXents for this guy. As I have all the others. So he can critique every single one. And continue to look for everything except helping me . I am injured !! and sought a out of court medical compensation for the injury. To the dental facility . No more no less. Management including owner and other know of this incident. Have apologized and claimed they care. Ya right! Bottom line I’m tracking down more papers Friday to prove my innocence. On a paperwork typo matter from the treatment facility. I then try numerous times to get in touch with jason farmers agent . I was unsuccessful left no message ! Management at treatment facility had for 2 days tried to clear up any concerns agent had. Treating facility had heard nothing as of closing time friday . I have since spoken with family and friends about discontinuing any and all business with farmers. My father alone has umbrella policy and other. As he is old and we decide his carrier. I’m not one to leave comments or responses. Jason ammann basically called me a liar. Insulted me, has done everything to avoid caring about my well being. The treatment facility mentioned to me. That farmers appears to be avoiding the claim. Instead is focused on a clerical issue. Bottom line no company has the right to try and strip me of dignity and self respect . I don’t want to drag the restaurant threw the mud. I’m not perfect! Accidents happen I was injured and sought justice alone. Against a huge corporation and big business restaurant. Treatment facility asked for fair compensation . Nothing more nothing less. Instead I’m left being treated like a nothing dealing with a young heartless agent. Who has no idea how to treat people with compassion or understanding. Especially when there the victim. I don’t like to be negative like this. Honestly a quiet customer seeking a quiet lunch. Turns into a nightmare. At this point, I’ll get a lawyer should of from the beginning. What a racket this guy is running. The restaurant has lost my business permanently and cannot hide behind farmers. The system makes it almost impossible for the individual. I will soon turn my focus over to both farmers and the restaurant. In a Manner that will not be pleasant. Such as this complaint. Can’t put a price on peace. No justice no peace. No more farmers and no more lake front restaurant for me and mine. Thank you sir / mame , hope you can do better in Oakland. Where I myself frequent as a guest . All the bad things I hear about Oakland. I’ve never had a problem. Until I eat an upscale lunch at an upscale lake front restaurant. That later requires assistance from a farmers claims agent. Passive aggressive tactics, arrogance and lack of any concerns for my well being. The gull to call me a liar and deny a claim. Because of a typo that the facility sent corrections on. I should of ate at Macdonalds. Matter of fact from now on I’ll ask restaurants who they insure with before I spend the 60 bucks for lunch. If it’s the company Jason works for I’ll choose another. I’m livid ! Both the restaurant and farmers dropped the ball. And money don’t have anything to do with the spiritual desire for peace and happiness. NO JUSTICE NO PEACE. NO MORE FARMERS, NO MORE LAKE CHALET. Sorry it’s come to this for us all good day . Jason retract statements made to owner of restaurant establishment. You were quick to call and make false statements about me. Rather than call treatment facility manager and seek truth of my initial visit. It is better to be sugar than vinegar Jason ammann. And the restaurant need not a customer in myself. Is better off with the agent Jason ammann. I’m sure he’ll put a lot of money back into your establishment. I’ll head back to barlago again great meal no problem. Signed who cared about my broken teeth. Answer me I do.

Dealing with a arrogant agent myself. A small lunch at a lakeside restaurant in oakland. Turned into 2 broken teeth from a clam dish served with small rocks. Been to dentist multiple times now. Owners of restaurant already admitted fault and apologized. For some reason Jason from farmers. Insults my integrity, basically turns things into a complete joke. I’m so furious with farmers insurance. Here quickly I will turn my focus over to there disrespect towards me. I wanted to handle this serious situation promptly. Guess I’ll have to drag the restaurant to court. And somehow get the attention of a understanding and compassionate individual . Especially when I’m the victim.

Dear Jeffrey,
I have a concern about Farmers that I would like to direct to you personally. We are being harassed by agents of Farmers. My wife and son (who was living with us) called our local Farmers agent and ask if a storage unit he rented was covered under our homeowners policy because it was broken into, the answer she received was yes and we will open a claim. Since that time my wife, son, and now myself have been harassed over a very small claim. I do not know the value of the claim but I would guess it is $10,000 to $15,000. My personal account often changes much more one way or the other in a day. This is a very small claim and I have been with Farmers for 30 years and have thought that Farmers was an insurance company that was above the average. You have access to my records and can see we have not filed claims that I remember. We have three homes, three cars, RV, boat, and Umbrella policy with Farmers, and have been with Farmers for 30 years. I would think as a person who has been in business for many years that the people you have representing Farmers would also have this public information. Yet my family has been harassed over and over by Farmers agents and law offices working on behave of Farmers. I would guess from my experiences with my legal offices, that Farmers has spent close to the amount of money harassing my family as this claim is worth. Right now this is no longer about the money to me. I have already contacted the Insurance Commissioner, I will attach the letter. I would like to know from you Jeffery, is this your direction to Farmers and the way your company operates or is this something that happened because of the actions of someone working for Farmers that should not be working for Farmers. This is very important to me at this time. I would like to know because I have had persons working for me that made very poor decisions and hurt the company I worked for, they were always dealt with quickly. I want to know if it is common practice for Farmers to harass customers until they go away or is this just stupid on stupid behavior by someone or a procedure that is out of control and needs and will be fixed? My decision to go public in a major way with this will depend on the answer I receive from you. I was told by my local agent today Dan Evans, that I may need to get a lawyer. He said he has never seen anything like this and was very sorry. I will not get a lawyer and spend three or four times what this claim is worth to make myself feel good. I will go public if this is Farmers corporate behavior and then I know things will change or the company will pay in a way that will make me feel good.
Sincerely yours,

Dear Dave Jones,
We had a storage unit with SmartStop Self Storage located in Santa Rosa, CA broken into and all of my son’s belongings were stolen. The date was May 14, 2015. This was the day before he was going into the hospital for a major operation. He went to the unit with my wife to get his bed so it could be set up at my daughters home were no one was living at the time. The reason for this is the operation he was going through requires him to be in bed and not disturbed for a long period of time. This is one of the most painful operations done at UCSF hospital.
When he opened the unit the only thing in the storage unit was his mattress. They called the police and a report was filed with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. The officer who came out to the storage unit told them he had been out to SmartStop Self Storage many times in the last couple of months. The lock on the unit was a construction combination lock that has a master key that can over ride the lock. This is clearly how the unit was opened because the lock was not cut.
My wife Denise Thompson called Farmers Insurance, office of Dan Evans, and ask if the unit was covered under our Homeowners Policy. She was told yes if my son was living with us, which he was and had been for some time. My policy number is 90353-83-22. We have had insurance with Farmers for over 30 years, three homes, three cars, an RV, boat, and Umbrella policy. We have not made claims in the past.
On May 15, 2015 we received a letter requesting a Statement of Loss Form, Inventory of Contents Form, and a Proof of Claim Checklist. This all seemed reasonable. My son was working on making his list but was having a very difficult time recovering from the major operation he had gone through. On June 15, 2015 we received a follow-up letter requesting necessary doXXXXentation. My wife Denise had been in touch with Farmers and was trying to help my son.
On June 18, 2015 we received a letter stating that the claim was closed because they had made attempts to obtain information needed, and the claim is now closed. This letter came from John Brown, Oklahoma City, OK. My wife contacted Farmers and was told that the claim was not closed and they just needed more information.
My wife was then required to work with Matthew J. Brant, special Investigations in Santa Rosa.
We then received a letter on June 25, 2015 asking us to complete a Sworn Statement known as a Proof of Loss and it had to be notarized for all of us. They also asked for, “Supporting doXXXXents for claimed items and values, including original purchase receipts, owners’s manuals, etc. Police report or report number if unavailable. This was all done.
On August 27, 2015 we received a letter from the Law Offices of Pedersen – Lauderdale telling us that Ms. Paula Aulman at 408-271-5312 had to be contacted by September 25, 2015 at 5:00 PM to set up a EUO! They wanted us all three to drive to San Jose, CA for an examination that may take up to (7) hours. We told them NO, if they need to talk to us it would be in Santa Rosa, CA. They made it very clear that my wife, my son, and myself had to be there.
I called my Farmers Insurance agent Dan Evans 707-542-7405, told him this was harassment and Farmers was trying to continually come up with one more thing for us to do so they didn’t need to paid this small claim. He said that this was a small claim. He told me he was not aware of everything going on with the claim and he had never heard of them asking for all this information. He later told me that he was told there was inconsistent statements from us and the investigators would not tell him what they were and we must meet with them and do whatever they asked but we would not need to go to San Jose, they would meet with us in Santa Rosa.
A meeting was scheduled for the middle of October 2015 so Ms Paula Aulman could perform the EUO, whatever that interview maybe. I could not attend (Herschel Thompson) because I had a trip to see my mother out of state who is not doing well. Ms Paula Aulman called my wife and said I (Herschel Thompson) does not need to be there because I was not present when the storage unit was found empty. I had to be there before even though I was not present but now I don’t need to be there because I was not present?
On September 19th we received a Letter from the Law Offices of Pedersen-Lauderdale confirming the appointment on October 19, 2015 at the Law Office of Ian Godon, 141 Stony Circle, Suite 145, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. The letter states, “Unless other wise excused, you are required to provide the following records and doXXXXents at least two weeks before your EUO, or by 5:00 PM., on October 5, 2015, except for those doXXXXents which have been previously provided to your insurance company.
They do not know what has been given to them, they continue to ask for more and more information that is not information that they should have and is not reasonable at all.
They are making up things as they go, this is out of hand can you please help?
Sincerely,
Herschel L. Thompson

I wanted corporate to know that their agents, Maria Messimer out of Kelseyville, should win agent of the year. She has at least 50 clients who have lost their homes in the Valley Fire. She has been keeping all of them as well as the whole community up to date on the latest information on the fire on her Facebook page. She has gone to the shelters and found elderly people and informed them that they had hotel coverage through Farmers and got them a check. She is a local hero. Ask anyone in the community right now. She has people staying at her house as well as her office. One of her employees lost her home in the fire and has been staying in the Farmers office. Farmers is the only insurance company to have a physical presence right now at the evacuation shelters in both Kelseyville and Calistoga and Maria Messimer is the face of your company right now. She is Famers!

When u call the company to talk to see what happened every one that is handling your case is on a vacation employees at farmers get paid to much for not doing anything. I think its time for farmers insurance to out of business. I wouldnt recommend farmers to a homless with a shopping cart for insurance if my life dependent on it.

today is july 13 2015 I been with farmers from 1982 I moved out to texas in 2005 I have a tile roof on my house do to high winds hail and a lot of rain after all said and done call up farmers told them i lost a boat slip and the dock is messed up so the insurance adjuster came out i had a roofing company out herewhen they came so they took pictures off the ladder i have a two story house they said it was foot traffic that damaged my roof but inside my house has water leaks then they walk all the way down to the dock to see the damaged and then they said we are not covered we have no flood insurance i told her when we had them come out to write up the house i told them i want 35000. on the dock and you say in not insurde but if it cought on fire it would go figure that i guess i need to get a lawyer but they said they will patch my roof but they cant walk on it that would cause foot traffic so i guess the roof companys has roofer that can fly or they going to hire a crane operator to lift them or they hire a helicopter to pick up the roofer so a 57000.00 roof has gone up if we have to get a crane operator at 200.00 an hour who knows about a helicopter and to fix the boat dock is a lot of money

To all the other bloggers who have had negative experiences with “Farmers”. First of all, you are not dealing with “Farmers”. Farmers is a term used to confuse their insureds. For six years, I thought I was dealing with my own insurance company, Farmers Insurance Exchange.
I only owned a car insured by “Farmers.” Don’t be misled. Farmers Group, Inc.is the “real” insurance company. Farmers Exchange and Fire Exchange are “shell” corporations capitalized only to the extent to meet minimum corporate standards.
Farmers Insurance Exchange sued me and my husband and sided with a third party mentally ill woman. When the expert that “Farmers” retained for us stated that the third party was essentially making everything up, “Farmers” objected to their own expert witness testimony.
I am out $700,000 dollars or more. I am suing Farmers Group Inc. now for Fraud. This is my own insurance company that I have paid $400 dollars a month in premiums for the last 15 year.
Yes, I do want “Farmers” to see my comment or complaint, but it won’t do any good. Hopefully, I will be able to pierce their corporate veil and expose them for the underhanded fraudulent criminals that they are.

I have been insured with Farmers for over 20 years. In those twenty years I have put two claims in. My second claim was just recent and I am so disappointed with them that I will no longer be doing business with you. Even though I was paying my insurance, you will not cover hail damage because of a mistake. I have paid you thousands of dollars for coverage and when I need it, you are not there.

In looking at all these comments I am beginning to think that this insurance company is run by a bunch of crooks. I have payed my insurance for years and now that we have a leak in the wall that was caused by the contractor when the house was first built and it was a slow leak that wasn’t detected till the ktichen cabinet fell of the wall because the wall was so wet that the wall couldn’t hold the cabinet any longer the adjuster said the insurance company would not cover anything we were out of luck .thanks framers for taking my money for nothing .I have 3 houses insured with you crooks and I am changing insurance companys tomorrow.Does anyone out there know of a good lawyer.

I am having the same issue with farmers. My cabinets were wet and had water damage. Even when my contractor determined that it was a short term water leak, they still wouldn’t cover the claim They are a crooked insurance company. They find every way possible not to help their clients. Not only that they can’t keep appointments that they confirm themselves. They are very unprofessional in the way they handle the matter.

2 years ago a month after our soon was born my boyfriend was driving his mother’s car. When he was t-bonded into a light post and was almost killed, his neck was broken and he had a concussion. Farmers insurance had been paying his workmans compensation and as of February 2015 our agent Lisa Kent said that he is good to go back to work. But his doctor at Michigan head & spine says he’s not. So in order to keep receiving his monthly checks he has to fill out 3 job applications a day and send her a screen shot. Well yesterday we called Lisa Kent and she said that she has not received the screen shots of his applications sho she is not sending him his check. When I know for a fact that they were sent in. We have been sending them 2 a month every month. As of now we are goin on our 3rd month with no check. So we have no way to feed our toddler or buy him his diapers. Because she refuses to do her job correctly. We have on multiple occasions requested a new agent but instead of switching agents for us all they did is switch her manager. Due to farmers insurance we are at least 4 months behind on our rent, and all of our bills. I am unable to go out and find so much as a part time job because I need to be home to take care of my boyfriend and our 2 year old son. We are absolutely broke and must depend on everybody else to help us. Honestly I would never recommend farmer’s insurance to anybody, not even my worst enemy.

To whom it may concern;
Please forward this information to the appropriate department. I’m having problems getting a claim paid.. My agent Isidro Manjarres from San Antonio, Texas will not admit to a mistake he made when changing my home owners insurance policy. Someone broke into my storage shed on Jan. 2015. When I called my agent Isidro Manjarres to notify him of the incident and to get the phone number to Farmers claim department, Isidro Manjarres informed me that I had nothing to worry about because my home owners insurance policy covered theft up to $25,000. Isidro Manjarres advised me to call and make my claim. I called made my claim and was told that an adjuster will be contacting me. Kylie (adjuster) contacted me that same day and notified me that I didn’t have any theft coverage and I only had vandalism coverage. I mentioned to Kylie that I had just spoken to my agent Isidro and he told me that i had a $25,000 coverage but my deductible was high. I told Kylie there has to be a mistake and that I wanted her to call him. I immediately called Isidro Manjarres and told him what Kylie had told me and I told him that it didn’t make sense because when I moved into the property he told me I was covered for everything except a flood from Mother Nature. I also told Isidro that Kylie was going to call him and Isidro told me ” she’s not reading the policy correctly she’s just reading the first page”. Isidro told me when Kylie calls i will tell her your covered for $25,000 I have your policy in front of me because I pulled it up when you called me earlier. So then a person by the name of Josh with Farmers calls me and tells me he’s sorry but I don’t have the theft coverage because Isidro never changed my status as home owner and that he didn’t know I was living at the property where the theft occurred . I explained to Josh that’s not true he knew that I moved into the property and that I had just spoken to him and he told me I did have coverage. I then asked Josh what did Isidro Manjarres tell you about my coverage? Josh replied by telling me that Isidro Manjarres told him also that I had a $25,000 policy but that Josh had to explain to Isidro Manjarres that I didn’t. So how does that make me at fault? If Isidro Manjarres had to be educated by the Farmers adjuster about my policy…..that should be enough proof that I was misinformed of the type of coverage that was sold to me. My father lived at the property but has passed on and he also had Farmers with same agent Isidro Manjarres. Isidro Manjarres told me that I was covered just like my father was but my monthly payment was going to be less because of my age. I have been treated very unfairly by Farmers for an error my agent Isidro Manjarres made. Now I have been the victim twice first by the thief and now by Farmers. This issue has to be resolved. I have spoken to several people including Josh supervisor.
If you have any questions please contact me.
Please reply by email.
Thank you

Local agent Eric Lee plays dirty politics, Farmers Ins must not have an ethics department. He has received a nick name the Weasel. When people don’t agree with him he belittles them in public media. Has been thought to create a second person so he can have some support in his agenda. You used to look up to and respect your local agents, in Atwater Ca you have to look out for him when you disagree with his agenda.
Fred Warchol says
Yes, you are correct, the “weasel” has been using a fake name to get out his message of hate. Is Farmers Insurance allowing this kind of behavior from their agents ?
Mr. Whistleblower says
Not as reputable a company as they hope we all believe. Met an agent in Chisago Minnesota named Beau Fisher. Recognized him from high school. He was David James Gudvangen but went by Beau at that time. Then he changed his name to Beau Parker. Now he is Beau Fisher. How did he become an agent with theft, DUI, tresspass and driving without proof of insurance on his criminal record? He changed his name to Fisher and his new Farmer Insurance employer didn’t discover his criminal record maybe because the Minnesota BCA hasn’t caught up to the name change yet. Come on Farmers, you can do better than that. A background check or social security number would have done it. Do you really want your potential customers working with this guy?

On Sunday, December 21, 2014 we were towing our 2014 Forest River Cherokee Vengeance Toy Hauler to the Alabama Gulf Shores from Colorado to spend Christmas vacation with our family.
We were 40 miles from our destination when we read a posted sign: “No hazardous materials in tunnel.” This was the only sign posted for drivers that there was a tunnel ahead.
When we got closer to the tunnel, the highway split and GPS directed us into the tunnel. At the mouth of the tunnel it was posted 12’ 0”. That was it. There was a large concrete abutment separating the tunnel road from the highway. There were no warning signs a mile, ½ mile or even a ¼ mile before the tunnel. There was no time to react. We couldn’t stop or change lanes. There was no place to pull over and nothing we could do to avoid entering the tunnel. We entered the tunnel and all of the equipment on top of our toy hauler was stripped off. We continued on to our destination as it was dark and we had already been traveling 11 hours. We arrived at Fort Morgan RV Park and got the toy hauler backed into the campsite.
When we opened the toy hauler, we discovered a disaster. The kitchen light fixture was upside down, on the floor and shattered. The LED lights were hanging down. There was debris, glass and insulation everywhere. The television had been impacted. The kitchen ceiling was sagging and cracked. The bedroom ceiling truss was cracked and hanging down 4 inches, the width of the trailer and insulation was all over the bed and floor.
Our first instinct was to start cleaning up. Paul had a tarp, some duct tape and a flashlight. He went up on the roof in the dark to tarp and tape over the holes as it was starting to rain and we needed to try and get some sleep. Pamela picked up the debris, vacuumed the entire toy hauler and wiped down all the horizontal surfaces. Perhaps we should have called a cleaning and repair surface at 8:00PM, during the holidays, to take care of these details. We went out of our way to secure our toy hauler to make it livable. What is Farmers doing for us, its consumer?
We look back on this accident and think we probably should have closed the door and walked away to stay in a hotel, but we were in shocked, tired and did our best to mitigate the situation and avoid further damage.
In doing so, we hurt ourselves by attempting to protect our investment before we understood our entire insurance situation.
After filing the claim with our Farmers agent, we were contacted by you. We were told we didn’t have adequate insurance coverage for loss of use. This issue will need to be discussed with our agent, Kevin Linkhart, who is nothing more than a voice on the phone. We realize we have to have insurance, but it should provide peace of mind in the event of an accident like this. With a travel trailer, when an accident or damage occurs it’s more than likely going to be away from home.
Because of inadequate insurance, we have had to endure a roller coaster of emotions. Pamela has broken down crying several times. We had anguish, anxiety and fret for the remainder of our “vacation”.
Lisha told us she couldn’t promise us anything, but said we have a good case for totaling the toy hauler and she would discuss it with her manager.
On Wednesday, December 24, Charlie from Camping World in Robertsdale, Alabama came to our campsite, examined the toy hauler and told us he could definitely get an estimate that would total the toy hauler.
On Monday, December 30, 2014, Lisha determined the estimate to repair our toy hauler is not at 60-75% of the market value; therefore, Farmers insurance has dictated that we get the toy hauler repaired. Considering the amount and type of damage, even though we have did our best to mitigate the damages, we believe this toy hauler will never be right again and we will never be able to trust using it again. If Farmers insurance would total this toy hauler we could be rid of this albatross that has been jinxed since the day we bought it and start over with 100% insurance coverage
On Friday, January 2, 2015, Dean Tarantino from Steve Casey Four Seasons RV in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, told us he could definitely get a repair estimate to total the toy hauler.
Lisha spoke with Dean at Steve Casey regarding the repair estimate and what steps will be taken to repair our toy hauler. Again she determined the estimate to repair our toy hauler is not at 60-75% of the market value; therefore, Farmers insurance has dictated that we get the toy hauler repaired.
What if we were an elderly, retired, couple without supplies and the skills to figure out how to mitigate damage and have the ability to climb a ladder, get on top of the roof and tarp and tape holes?
If we had walked away and stayed at a hotel, we would have had additional expenses that were unplanned. Also, the toy hauler would have sustained rain outside and inside and more than likely would have been destroyed and have to be totaled.
Due to the lack of insurance coverage, and Farmers unwillingness to total this toy hauler, we were forced to do what we could to keep our toy hauler intact and haul it home 1600 miles to settle our claim.
The amount of anxiety, distress and suffering we have endured over this accident for the remainder of our trip has been insurmountable. The anxiety, distress and suffering continue as we work through this claim.
We are now aware of what our policy does and doesn’t cover, and the estimate needs to be closer to 60 or 75% of the value. Even if it’s not, we implore Farmers insurance to make an exception for lifelong, loyal, Farmers insurance consumers and total this toy hauler, please.

By not having a vehicle, this is creating a series hardship,PLEASE HELP.

To Whom It May Concern,
Maybe you will actually read this letter before throwing it out. I am sending your check back that I was issued for the following reasons:
This all happened back in April 2014 it is now December 2014 and since then all my neighbors have had all their homes fixed, new roofs, new siding, etc EXCEPT for mine. Because I am a truck driver I do not have a lot of time as I am always on the road, now that we are slower I have time to reach out to your company to let you know how displeased I am and how I will be finding a new company to go with.
It has really became apparent that you don’t know what kind of insurance company you have until you need them. You can pull up my claim for yourself if you would like. Basically the only thing I got from your company is a list of everything you WONT fix. Here are all the problems I have had with you guys.
1) You will fix rails on a deck but not that actually deck floor, nice to know that when hail hits it only damages the rails not the floor. How does that make any sense?! Even though you can see all the damage that was done. So due to you guys not wanting to fix my deck I sanded it and re-stained it myself.
2) Siding, you will only fix 33 sqft. That will look terrible. There was way more damage done to my siding then just 33 sqft. If you look at my house it looks like a spotted leopard from all the damage. So again now I have to do this myself at some point since your company will not.
3) I had ONE phone conversation and it was over a stupid grill covers, one blew away and the other was damaged from the hail. They wanted to know when I bought it. You remember the grill that sat on my deck that you claimed the hail would only hit the rails. This was the only one call ever made to me about my claim and I haven’t had a phone call since. That’s just ridiculous.
4) But what is most disturbing to me is when I went to my agent late summer to get my insurance card I had told him I was going to end up sending your checks back since they do me no good since nothing will end up getting fixed properly out of it. His response back was NOT what could he do to help me but instead he decided to say “You don’t need to send them back they aren’t good after 6 months” How unprofessional is that. Nobody seems to care about how they can reach out and help me and its become very apparent.
Needless to say all the houses around me have been fixed and I will just continue to work on my house on my own and I will switch insurance company’s and you will lose my business which does not seem to matter anyways. I will say you seemed to train your adjuster on well what you wont fix and what you wont pay for. Because of this house mess I didn’t even begin to start a claim on my three cars that were damaged only to hear that your company wont fix it. I am really glad that my house wasn’t leveled or anything because in that event I would have hated to hear from you guys that would have only rebuild 3/4s of it. I am very displeased over all and have never had such a bad experience. You can say what you want but as I have stated before, you only find out what kind of insurance you have when you need it.

Hello, my name is Frank, and I had the most disgusting and insulting experience with a new Farmers Agent. I have been in the insurance business for 42 years, and when I called to discuss getting together with a new Farmers Agent in Pompton Lakes, NJ, after having a 12 minute phone conversation with him, he publicly called me a “liar” and a “phony.” As a result, I plan to sue him for slander.
What a wonderful job of training Farmers does with its new agents!! BTW, I have the 12 minute phone conversation tape recorded, as well as the 3 minute voice mail I left him, before we met.
Have you ever been interviewed by someone who left you at a table in Starbucks and just walked out on you?? I have. After 42 years in the insurance business, 25 years of which I have as an expert witness, with impeccable industry credentials, it was an eye opening experience, let me tell you!
The Farmers agent, also, just got his license in AUGUST 2014!!
Yes, I do want to make sure that Farmers, Corporate sees this, so I’m going to print it, mail it to the COO, and post it to Facebook. Oh, yes, did I say I’m going to sue the Agent for slander?
Happy shopping for insurance!!

Hello my name is Linsey Bartholomew and I have been with Farmers nine years now and my father for much longer. For the last couple years I have been having extreme problems with my agent and the lack of organization and communication within their office. It got so bad that I am no longer insured through farmers and I doubt I ever will again. Soon the people in my family who are with farmers won’t be either because of the way everything was handled. I am very ready to let all my friends know as well because I am beyond upset with the amount of time I spent just wasted on all of this and the stress I had to go through. It is not fair that a customer of nine years is treated this way. I am really surprised that you let people like this represent your company because little by little you are losing your customers to competitors. If you would like your credibility to stay intact I suggest you talk with these people representing you and make right to the customers they have completely disrespected. I have attached all email threads but I will explain what happened so you can see step by step what happened and won’t get confused by the threads
First I called Manzur Max Chowdury on September 11th and told him that my policy was going to be in a month and I wanted to get a quote on some things I wanted changed. I wanted to remove a vehicle and lower my coverage on another. I told him that I wanted a quote because I wanted to compare with an insurance company that my brother is using. I told him that I didn’t want my current policy to change I already paid for it in full for the whole year. He then blew me off and told me that he would send an email to respond to and if I could just email him everything I had just said. (Very unprofessional and a hassle for the customer I called for a reason)
So I sent him an email September 12th 7:34 AM
“Manzur,
My policy number; 17677-47-82
I spoke with you on the phone yesterday and I know you said you would send an email for me to reply to but I never received one yesterday so maybe my name was misspelled.
However you told me to email the changes I would like on my insurance. I no longer will have the PT cruiser so I would like that to be removed from my policy entirely. I also no longer need my Chevy Aveo on full coverage it is not worth very much anymore. I would like to have that car put on the lower insurance rate possible just whatever is required by law. Liability I believe.
Is there anyway I can get a quote on how much that would cost me with the new changes. Gecko has sent me a couple quotes in the mail now and I just want to see where I would be getting the best price.
Thank you for your time
Linsey Bartholomew”
Then I get this response
September 12th 11:41 AM
“Hi Linsey
PT cruiser is canceled effective today per your request
I enclose changes form to make other vehicle liability only 15/30/25
I enclose change form for signature, household lost multi car discount
Thank you
Ana”
There was also a quote attached that was 533.30 for the Chevy Aveo Only.
So I respond
September 15th 11:09
“I do not understand. I spoke with Manzur on the phone and told him I wanted to change my policy when my policy came up in Oct. He told me to send what I want changed. I did not ask for him to take the PT off until the policy ended. I am getting rid of the PT soon but not yet. What would be the point of canceling the policy early when I already paid in full am I getting a reimbursement. I also just asked for a quote so I could compare what I am paying with other companies”
I also sent another email after looking at the quote for the Aveo

“So my Chevy was 660.40 with full coverage. And with just the basic its only 533.30. Is that correct that full coverage is not even that much more.”
Now in this time the office had called my father’s house and talked to my father about my policy. Ana told me that she had called my father and asked if I sold the PT cruiser and my dad told her that I did so that is why she canceled the PT. I asked my dad about this conversation and he said he never once told her that. So I don’t know who is lying but either way it doesn’t matter I did not sell my PT cruiser and I don’t know why they are calling my father talking about my policy I am the one who pays for my insurance, and even on that note I have no idea why they have my father on my account at all I even asked them one time and they said the only reason he shows up on paperwork is because of home owners insurance. After reviewing all my doXXXXents I have been paying to have my father covered to drive my cars all these years and I never once told them I needed that. My dad does not drive my vehicles we do not even live together and he is insured through someone else so I have been double covering him for nine years. This alone upsets me.
However I get this response
September 17th 12:26
“Per your email
I see that you did not wish to cancel your PT cruiser
Vehicle reinstated and added to policy
Policy renewal Oct 16th for PT Cruiser and 2009 Chevrolet renewal oct 16th
Thank you ana”
So again they completely disregard what I have been saying. For Oct 16th renewal I do not want PT and I want Chevy liability. It really doesn’t seem that hard to grasp.
So I respond
September 18th 7:24AM
“yes I want the policy I paid in full already to stay the same as it is until that policy is over. If I paid for it already I want it. But as soon as that policy ends I want my new policy to reflect the changes I have expressed. When renewing my policy I want to take the PT and keep my chevy on the cheapest insurance possible.
If my father is connected to my insurance plan in some way why do I not qualify for multi car discount? My PT is not sold
I received a letter in the mail from tonia Arnold telling me she wants to make sure im getting all the discounts like “Drive safe and save, multi line, multi automobiles, good driving, good student, steer clear safe driver”
Should I call her and see if I can get some of these or do you also take care of that. I am now 25 and have not gotten any accidents”
So then I get a bill in the mail or something showing how much I will have to pay for Oct16, 2014-2015 and the bill says it will cost over 1000.00 dollars. I had already seen the quote for 533.30 for my chevy and liked it so I called the office and of course got no answer. The voicemail says they will call within two hours of getting any voicemail 7147589999
So I send an email
September 22nd 7:59AM
Subject:Please call
“I called and left a voicemail. I would like to talk about my insurance policy I think some things got mixed up and I would like to confirm what exactly the price is and what will be changed.”
So then even though I called left a voicemail and asked in the subject line of my email for them to call me they do not I just get another email.
September 22nd 10:59
“Now you have 2 vehicles until renewal oct 16th
If we cancel 04 cruiser and change 09 to liability only on renewal oct 16th) See quote)
I enclose quote for 09 Chevy (only one vehicle) from oct 16th
Until renewal you have 2 cars 2009 Chevrolet full coverage and 2004 PT cruiser Liability with UM
Ana”
I asked them to call me because now she just stated everything I already knew and sent a quote I already got. I wanted to know what the bill I got in the mail that was over a thousand dollars. They still would not call me back or answer my calls. They still never even answered my questions in a previous email about getting all discounts because of the mail I received.
So I send another email
Subject :Please Call
October 1st 9:54
“Will I be receiving a bill soon. I have received a bill but it says my insurance is over a thousand dollars and it is only on a six month cycle which is why I emailed saying I was not sure what my insurance was. So I need a bill reflecting the quote you had attached.”
So I have asked them to send me a bill reflecting the quote of 533.30. I asked in voicemails and in this email.
So I call on October 2nd and I talk to someone named Laura Barano and I tell her what has been going on. I let her know that I got a quote for 533.30 and I want the bill so I can get this all paid for before my policy is up. She tells me that I did not receive a quote for 533.30 I tell her yes I did Ana sent it to me and I even have it saved. She tells me that it is not a quote then it is something else and it is not valid to use for a price. She said she will make me a new one and send it to me. Very rude and very wrong about everything I have all the emails saying that I got a quote for 533.30
So I send another email
Subject Please call me October 2nd 9:39
“I would just like to start over with all requests because something somewhere is being misunderstood. Attached is a quote I was sent for a new policy with only one vehicle for 533.30. This is exactly what I had wanted for my policy when my current policy was over. But I just called and asked about this quote and I am being told that I was never given a quote and to renew my policy it will be 1100.00
I want to know how much it will be next policy from 10-16-14 to 10-16-15 for ONLY my chevy Aveo 2009 just liability or whatever is the cheapest with still being legal
I also want a quote for 10-16-14 to 10-16-15 for my chevy Aveo 2009 liability of whatever is the cheapest insurance with still being legal and instead of the PT(Because my husband got a new car he is selling the PT) I want to add a 2014 Ford Fusion full coverage. It is new so I want to make sure it has the appropriate coverage.
My husband wanted to change insurance companies because he believes after getting some quotes it will be cheaper for him to get his car insured elsewhere and now maybe even cheaper if we stick together on a policy so I want to see if we even want to stay with farmers. But so far this has been extremely difficult to get a clear quote.”
Then I received this email again no call even though I keep asking for it
October 2nd 10:11
“Hi Linsey,
I have attached quote #24273684 for the above mentioned coverage requested by you.
This is for a 12 month policy so monthly you’re looking at about $54.12/mo.
I would again like to advise that these are state minimum limits and we avoid writing policies with limits this low as much as possible.
If you were to get in an at fault accident (hope you never do), the most any one person would be paid for medical care would be $15,000.
As a comparison, my medical bills for my accident were negotiated down to $80,000 for 9 months of treatment. Remainder of medical or property damage liabilities not paid by the insurance company are paid by the at fault insured out of their pocket. Our goal is to protect our customers from this.
Let us know how you wish to move forward before your renewal so we can make necessary changes effective 10/16/14 (date of your renewal). I will speak with Max and Ana about our progress today.
Thank you and have a great day!”
Now she sent me a new quote that is over a hundred more than what the last quote I got for the same thing. How are these people able to do this it’s not right. More money for the same thing.
So I send an email back October 2nd 2:38
“Laura,
I am not happy with this quote. I don’t understand how just recently I was given a quote for the exact same thing and now the price went up. You said I was not given a quote and that it does not show well I have a quote that looks just like the one you sent me. I will attach it. I don’t understand how multiple people are giving me different priced quotes for the same thing I feel like the company is trying to stick it to me. If the price is what you say it is at 649.30 then I know Gecko is cheaper for sure so then I will just change companies. I feel like I was quoted 533. 30 and it should be honored.
However I sent this in an email and did not get a response yet, but I would rather someone else work on my quote because I feel like your quote was over 100.00 more than whoever did my other quote and I would like to be contacted by phone by Max Chowdury :
I would just like to start over with all requests because something somewhere is being misunderstood. Attached is a quote I was sent for a new policy with only one vehicle for 533.30. This is exactly what I had wanted for my when my current policy was over. But I just called and asked about this Quote and I am being told that I was never given a quote and to renew my policy will be 1100.00.
What I want is two Quotes now.
I want to know how much it will be next policy from 10-16-14 to 10-16-15 for ONLY my Chevy Aveo 2009 Just Liability or whatever is the cheapest with still being legal.
I also want a Quote for 10-16-14 to 10-16-15 For my Chevy Aveo 2009 Liability or whatever is the cheapest insurance with still being legal, and instead of the PT (Because my husband got a new car he is selling the PT) I want to add a 2014 Ford Fusion Full Coverage. It is a new car so I want to make sure we have the appropriate coverage.
My husband wanted to change insurance companies because he believes after getting some quotes it will be cheaper for him to get his car insured elsewhere and now maybe even cheaper if we continue to stick together on a policy so I want to see if we even want to stay with Farmers. But so far this has been extremely difficult to get a clear quote. “
She replies
October 2nd 3:02
“Also the quote Ana sent you was purged from the system because it was never taken. So I could not see any quotes had been ran for you”
Well this cant be true I got sent that same quote she said she could not get a few days after this email. And even if she cant pull an old quote when she makes a new one with all the same things I asked then it should come out to the same price. And she said because it wasn’t taken, that is not my problem I told them I wanted that quote and I liked it.
She sent another mail
“This is for a 12 month policy so monthly you’re looking at about $54.12/mo.
I would again like to advise that these are state minimum limits and we avoid writing policies with limits this low as much as possible.

Let us know how you wish to move forward before your renewal so we can make necessary changes effective 10/16/14 (date of your renewal). I will speak with Max and Ana about our progress today.
Thank you and have a great day!”
So I respond
“Laura,
I have been given two quotes. When I asked you for a quote I told you I wanted the cheapest option available that was still legal. If you put uninsured motorist on my plan and it is not necessary by law then you added something I did not ask for. Is that why your quote was higher than my first quote? If you take that away will it cost 533.30 for the year? my car has 82,000 miles
I also asked for a quote that had my Chevy Aveo at the cheapest coverage possible that is still legal and my husband’s new car a ford fusion 2014. This has not yet been acknowledged
Do you know when Max will be available to talk? I have been calling trying to get a hold of someone I can speak to before I even spoke with you the first time.
I understand that you are getting the short end of the stick because you are just on the receiving end of all this but I have been trying to get a simple quote for over three weeks now and I am beyond frustrated with the lack of communication. Three weeks ago all I wanted was a quote for my chevy Aveo cheapest insurance possible that’s it. Then instead of a quote I get my policy changed and my PT no longer has insurance. So I try to get my policy back to the way it was because I didn’t even want that touched it made no sense. Tried to get a hold of someone on the phone and it was almost impossible then they call my dad and get approval from him for whatever reason that I sold the PT. He does not know anything about my vehicles. I did not sell my PT yet and he claims he never said that. So then I’m back to square one I just wanted a quote for my Chevy because I am no longer using the PT we are in the mist of finding a buyer, and then I get a bill in the mail for over a thousand dollars to renew my policy. I have already said more times then I can count if I even decide to renew my policy with this company I WILL NOT be having the P.T on my account. When the policy I already paid for is up I no longer want the PT on it. Now I have gotten two different quotes for the same car and I just want to know what it is going to cost me but I think its crazy that my first quote is being thrown out and not acknowledged.
I have been quoted 533.30 I have the quote. If I choose to turn it in and only insure my car will that be my new policy amount?
I just want that to be acknowledged as my quote for that car.
I also wanted a quote for my car and the ford fusion. Chevy cheapest insurance. Ford Full coverage.
It would be easier if I could be contacted not emailed there is to much miscommunication and hostility via email.
I don’t feel like any of this should have been such a hassle. If you guys are just mad at me now for taking out my frustrations and no longer want to insure me then please just let me know. If you cannot help me let me know. Is there a way I can be just transferred and put on under a different agent? Or I can go to a new company at this point Its a simple can you help or not can you give me a quote and give me a call. I stay with this company because I don’t want to go through the hassle of finding a new one but if the hassle is more to stay then there is no point. “
October 3rd 7:05 Am
“Okay well as of now we have not gotten anywhere. I don’t even know what quote is the correct one. I have asked for a different quote and not gotten it. I have called and left voicemails and no one will respond. I asked in the email for you to call me but I just get emails back that respond to nothing. Can Max call me. “
I still don’t get a call
I call 10-3-14
I call 10-6-14 twice
I call 10-13-14
I call 10-14-14
I call 10-15-14 3 times
All of these calls I leave voicemails that say they will be returned within two hours and I reviecve not one call back.
I receive and email back
October 15th 3:14 PM
“Hi Lindsey
I enclose quote effective Oct 16th
1.- Cancelling PT cruiser
2.- adding 2014 Fusion full coverage
3.- changing 2009 Chevrolet to Liability only 15/30/25
Please let me know any changes, per today we have 2 vehicles actives 2009 Chevrolet and PT cruiser
Please advise cancellation of PT cruiser and send vin number of 2014 to add
rates 2009 Chevrolet $589.70 for one year liability only
2014 Fusion $1407.70 for one year liability with com and collision 41000 deductible each, glass coverage, and rental K4 ($25 dollars per day up to 20 days) to rent a vehicle in case of accident
Premium is for one year”
Now this email is confusing because it makes it sound like my car 589.70 and Rhett’s is 1407.70 so my insurance would be like 2000.00 a year. But the policy attached said 1407.70 total. It is also weird because my car quote alone was 533.30 but now that I added on another car I was told I would get a multi-car discount and not only is it not cheaper it is more expensive.
So I respond
October 15th 3;36 PM
“This is the original quote I received. I was told that it would get even lower if I added on another car because I would get multi car discount. So I am not sure how on the newest quote I received it is not only lower than 533.30 it is more expensive.”
So then again I call and I wait on hold for Manzur because he is on the phone with another customer and I finally talk to him about this issue and he says he will call me back he is going to send an email. Its so nice how when I call he is on the phone with someone else even though I have been calling for days not getting any response.
Then he emails me October 15 3:45
“I got it Linsey. Would you please send me your husband’s?
1) Driver’s License #
2) Name
3) Date of Birth
It is not in our system, and we do not keep any personal information in the file for security reason.
Please email me the information and I will follow up with you personally.
Thanks
Max”
I reply
“1) D8377466
2) Rhett Bartholomew
3) 9-8-89”
Then I sit there and wait for him to call back with a quote and I send these
“When will you call me back”
“I didn’t get a call back and you said you would call me back right after you made the quote. I have been asking for a really simple quote since the beginning of September. Today is the last day that I am covered I will not be driving around with no insurance. Are you going to extend my insurance until this is resolved? If we can solve this by today then I will just have to get insured by someone who will give me a quote. Please give me a call back.”
So I call 10-16-14 three more times trying to get answers
So then they email me back with TWO more quotes for what I had been asking (All quotes are attached in this email)
I get a quote for 1654.70
I get a quote for 1955.80
This is for the same thing I got a quote for 1400.00 that I had a problem with because it was too high.
So for the Chevy Aveo Alone I got two quotes total one 533.30 and another 649.44
So far for the Aveo and Fusion I got three quotes one 1407.70 two 1654.70 and three 1955.80.and two of these quotes had my Aveo for more expensive than 533.30 which was how much it was alone with no multi car discount.
This office was rude and very unprofessional. They made this whole ordeal such a stressful hassle and really gave your company a bad reputation. I really am appalled that this is how I was treated and that you would like them represent your company. I hope you see how unfair this was on me and I’m sure they do this to a lot of people. I hope you do something to fix this.

After 26 years with Allstate we thought we’d seen all the insurance scams but Dailey came up with a new one: Hire dishonest agents and have them low-ball premiums to get business knowing they will quit and then assign to another dishonest agent and cancel the policy and keep the premium. The criminal practices are known to the insurance commissions who are under staff and can’t chase the con artists.
Very clever Jeff Dailey, etal.

To Whom It May Concern,
On July 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm I had a scheduled Interview with Jett B Smith, CSD, LUTCF District Manager for Farmers Insurance from the Chesterfield, Missouri location. Upon my arrival to his office I was given a standard questionnaire form to fill out requesting my basic information to include some financial background. I was then invited into his office where he proceeded to ask me questions some your typical interview questions and some illegal question which had no relevancy to my qualifications for a position applied for as a producer. Jett B Smith became focused on asking me it I was married, What my wife’s name was, If my wife was a home maker or did she work, What position my wife held or what did she do? Then he turned his attention to my children asking if I had children? I became alarmed by his line of questioning as it pertained to nothing in regard to my qualifications for the position being interviewed for.
I asked Jett B Smith why he was asking me these questions as it perplexed me and having been a manager for a large corporation for many years knew these questions to be illegal and out of line. Jett B Smith having been angered because of my asking him why he was asking me these questions stated the following to me; “ This interview is over you have a Dorito on your shoulder get out of my office!” I was caught off guard and thought perhaps I was hearing things so I stated to him, Excuse me what did you say? Jett B Smith was more than happy to repeat his previous statement back to me in an angry demeanor all while trying to embarrass and insult my heritage.
This conduct should not be tolerated or allowed by any professional! His actions and attitude were out of line and racist not only to me as an individual, but to all Hispanics as a whole. This sort of behavior should not be allowed or tolerated and it’s my desire to bring attention to this deplorable act of ignorance and racism to all. I seek relief from this sort of behavior and desire that this be brought to the attention of any appropriate agency or individual who can correct his actions.
I respectfully thank you for your attention in this matter and the time you have spent reading my complaint.
Warmest Regards,
Carlos Carter

On October 17, 2008, almost 6 years ago, I was at work as a nurse. My husband, driving my car, was rear-ended by a third party on our property. We were both sued by her. I was sued for being the owner of a motor vehicle. Farmers’ accepted coverage initially under our auto policy and paid property damage. They denied coverage under our homeowners policy because it was under the exclusionary clause for use of an auto. Later, plaintiff claimed personal injury damages in excess of 1 million dollars. Farmers’ then denied coverage even as they were defending us. Farmers’ deserted us on the eve of trial three years later and we were forced into a settlement. I paid 150K out of my home equity. Farmers paid zero. Farmers immediately proceeded to sue me for their defense costs for “uncovered claims.”
At trial, Farmers produced a claim file. It did not contain their own experts opinion that the plaintiff was lying about her injuries. It did not contain offers of settlement to settle me out (for 15K they could have settled me out). I appealed the 60K judgment only to find out that Farmers, by their own admission in their appellate brief, had “omitted certain doXXXXents” from the 8000 page file. I am now suing them for Fraud. So, in summary, Farmers not only did not cover me, did not contribute to the settlement, turned around and sued me because they eliminated every single doXXXXent that would have been exculpatory to me and inculpatory towards them and I WAS NOT EVEN AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. I have lost my home equity, most of my retirement, my health and almost my job as a nurse all because I owned a car insured by Farmers. It has cost me over 700K. I am bringing the appeal and the fraud case pro per because I have no money left to pay an attorney. Take this a warning to stay far away from Farmers.

My car insurance was just raised, 30 dollars more. DMV found a ticket I got in april of 2013 immediately reported it to Farmers. Now here is the thing, I have gone years without a ticket but Farmers raised my rate. I did not even see the no uturn sign and there was no imminent danger because where I did it if I had made the left instead, I would have gone into the driveway of a business. There was no traffic. Now the fact that farmers raised my rate for this after a bazillion years of being with them, several cars, home insurance, and life insurance really pisses me off. I am not a risk, I only drive about 7000 miles a year, absolutely NO ACCIDENTS. Now I hear that they have to raise the rate. I don’t know about you but that sure as hell does not sound true to me. I went from 62 a month to 92 a month. When some of the others are offering accident or ticket forgiveness, of which I don’t know why farmers doesn’t, why can’t they just review my record and say ya know what, we are not going to raise the rate of a faithful customer who has been with us for years. Now I will be contacting the CEO Jeffrey Dailey, and I will be shopping around. Betrayed for 30 dollars.(30 pieces of silver dollars sound familiar) Like Farmers really needs 30 dollars more a month Greed makes me sick. So look up my file Farmers, and tell me how you can justify this. Alessandra L Fabbri nash…modesto California.

I had a pipe leak in my basement and mold grew throughout the basement. I called my insurance man and was told he just writes the policy call the 800 number. I am now living with severe COPD and a house full of mold. I know they don’t cover mold, but it was from Pipe that broke. Thank you Dwight Calhoun!!!

I find it offensive that your commercials show Caucasians as the perpetrators of crimes and never shows any other race in these situations. It actually shows African americans as the victims. I’ve seen 5 of these commercials this morning. I would never do business with this company.
John Larry Huff says
My Experience with Farmers Insurance
My name is John Larry Huff. My wife and I reside at 4415 North Midwest Boulevard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. On the evening of June 8, 2014 there were thunder storms in the area and the lights in the house flickered (bright to dim) several times. The Cox TV cable HD box came on and off three different times in the span of five to ten minutes. Shortly after that, approximately fifteen to twenty minutes, my wife noticed that the bathroom lights were not working. After further investigation, it was discovered that the outside porch lights would not work. Upon resetting the breakers, my wife heard two loud pops of unknown origin outside. It was not until about 30 minutes later that we realized that the air conditioner was not working properly. Much later we found that the garbage disposal breaker had been tripped in the kitchen and had to be reset.
On June 9, 2014, Spencer Heat & Air LLC, who had serviced the unit several time in the last few years, sent a crew out to investigate. It was discovered that the compressor unit was damaged, irreparable and had to be replaced. It was at this time that the crew chief technician suggested that I contact my insurance agent because it was apparent the problem was caused by power surges and that it might be covered by my home owner’s insurance policy. He put on my receipt after installing the new unit, “Found unit had a blowed (sic) out compressor Terminal that seemed to be caused by power surges’s during storms. Causing unit not to run.”
I contacted my insurance agency by telephone and apprised the office staff about the situation. I was asked whether or not I wanted to file a claim. I said, “If it was covered, I wanted to file a claim.” I was advised at that time that my policy (#0914871656) was full replacement, less $500 deductible, and that power surges were included. I was also told that I would be contacted by an adjustor shortly.
Subsequently, I was contacted by Sean Henry, Office Claims Representative, from Michigan. I apprised him of the situation, and he asked, “If I would send him the written statement by the Spencer Heat & Air technician who wrote about the power surge.” I e-mailed it to Sean Henry on June 10, 2014.
Sean Henry, representative for Farmers Insurance (claim #3000805152-1-1), telephoned me again and informed me that he had contacted Spencer Heating & Air, and after his conversation (I have not seen anything in writing or heard anything verbally from the Spencer H & A technician that would be contrary to the verbal and written comments about the cause of the air conditioner failure being a power surge) with the technician (probably a bullying session by Henry considering his usual know-it-all, condensing attitude and demeanor exhibited toward me and my wife), he had decided that the air conditioner did not quit working because of a power surge, but rather the compressor quit because of age. That is, regardless of the things that my wife and I observed at the time, he said, “they were not related, and the compressor just happened to pick that time to go out.” His close minded, assertiveness, insistence and emphatic extrapolations inferred that my wife and I were ignorant and were mistaken as to what we were witnessing.
When pressed Sean Henry said that his dialogue with the technician (supposedly something different than the technician put in writing on my receipt and relayed to me verbally), and the fact that the unit was 20 years old or more (actually, less that 15 because the unit was installed two years after we moved to this address 17 years ago), he knew for certain that it was not caused by a power surge. He assured me that he knew all about air conditioners, their operation, and components. He informed me that he was able to elicit (coerce???? considering his manner of operation) from the Spencer H&A technician an admission that the failure could possibly be from something other than a power surge; therefore, his conclusion was that the air conditioner failure was not caused by a power surge.
I let him know that based on my observations of the events on the night of June 8, and the technician’s emphatic belief that the unit failure was caused by a power surge which he put in writing on June 9, I did not agree with his conclusion! Sean Henry relayed that he would have an unbiased third party investigate the unit and give a report to Farmers. I questioned the prudence of him hiring someone that would be obligated to him and the chance of them being unbiased. He assured me that the investigative group would be an independent, unbiased entity.
Someone by the name of Kevin Miller (from Illinois), a representative of CIA (Commercial Insurance Services), called to set up an appointment to have a technician look at the burned-out air condition unit. The date and time was set for Wednesday between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on June 18. My wife and I waited all day on June 18, June 19 and June 20 and no one came, no one called, no one contacted us. Finally, we quit trying to keep someone at home at all times.
On Monday, June 23 someone again called from CIS to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out. The excuse given to my wife for them not coming on June 18 was that there was a “scheduling conflict.” That excuse was later changed to a “computer e-mail malfunction” that delayed getting information out to everyone. My question for them was: “I know you have my telephone number because you called me to set the appointment. Could you not a least have called about the delay so my wife and I would not be held hostage for three days”? I was not a happy camper!
A new date was established for June 26, 2014. On that date a technician from Comfort Heating & Air of Oklahoma City by the name of Travis Smith came out and inspected the unit. Without any solicitation from me whatsoever, he looked me square in the eye and said, “There is not any doubt the damage to this unit was caused by a power surge.” He tried to show me the damage and explain the situation, but I told him that I did not know anything about air conditioners except they either work or they do not work. When leaving, Mr. Smith and I had some dialogue about my wife and me beginning to question our own perception of the events surrounding the air conditioner failure. Once again, Mr. Smith assured me that we were not imagining the power problem and there was no need to worry. He said, “It was definitely a power surge that anyone could plainly see.” He even suggested that I get something extra installed on the new unit to protect against power surges. He said that the newer units, like my replacement one, had a 5 minute delay when re-starting after a voltage drop, but since my residence was at the end of the electricity service line, and the frequency of thunderstorms in the area, it would be wise to get the extra protection.
That is why I was so surprised to get a call from Sean Henry, Farmers Claim Representative, who told me that he had received the report from Kevin Miller, CIS Residential HVAC Representative that read, “CSI believes that the unit stopped working due to operational wear and tear” (a direct quote from their letter dated July 2, 2014; CIS Control Number: 005218; paragraph 1 line 6). To me that was a shock because of what Travis Smith said to me, and since the report by Smith on the CIS Residential Diagnostic Inspection Form (DIF), reads: Visual Inspection Item #4 Question; “Any visual evidence of excessive wear?” The answer is clearly checked “NO.” Also in Millers reports in the last paragraph, second sentence, reads; “the lack of scorching to any of the other components and wiring can tell us that the unit was not subject to any sudden or accidental electrical event.” This is in direct conflict with Smith’s on-site report which reads: Visual Inspection Item #6 Question; “Were there any noticeable burn marks on any other components?” The answer is clearly marked “Yes.”
I now know why a disclaimer is included on the DIF form that says the “Opinions offered by the inspecting technician while on site do not represent the opinion of CSI, nor do they represent the opinion of your insurance company. They had their mind made up and any on-site report was going to be ignored. In the domineering arena the victims do not matter. The oppressors are going to do what we want to do, and conditions are established to eliminate any opinion that is not in harmony with theirs! Now do you suppose, in your wildest imagination, that the claim representative who was adamant, assertive and rude about denying a claim and the one hired to substantiate his decision would collaborate to deny a claim while totally ignoring everything else including the on-site inspectors verbal and written reports?
There have been two qualified on-site inspectors of the damaged air conditioner unit: Spencer Heating & Air Condition and Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning. Both technicians, who represent these two companies, without solicitation, told me directly that the air condition unit damage was caused by a power surge. Spencer H & A technician put it in writing that it was a power surge and Comfort H & A put in writing that it was not excessive wear and there were burn marks on other components. And then both Miller of CIS and Henry of Farmers, without a personal on-site inspection; without leaving their offices in Illinois and Michigan, determined that the opposite was true.
They concluded that the unit malfunction was not due to a power surge, but was instead the result of operational wear and tear. Also CIS mentioned the possibility of loose wires, rust or corrosion. That does not wash because of the frequency of service to the unit. Oh! Of course Miller and Henry would project that those inspecting the unit, adding Freon periodically and providing frequent, general maintenance were unreliable or incompetent (unless schooled by them as to what to say) or they would pull out a disclaimer that says their opinions cannot be considered by CIS or Farmers Insurance.
My wife and I have paid Farmers Insurance premiums for over 28 years, totaling a great deal money, with very few minor claims. My wife and I can live without reimbursement from Farmers. We are not after the money! My wife and I have been abused, misused, insulted, lied to, our integrity questioned and generally mistreated in this ordeal. Our desire is that this kind of treatment to others will stop.

This has all been resolved. A very nice, considerate, personable representative from Farmers called and apologized for any inconvenience that my wife and I had experienced. He mentioned that Farmers would be reviewing their policies and procedures to make sure this does not happen to others. My faith is fully restored in Farmers. I hope I live long enough to have 28 more years of association with Farmers.

Hi, did you have to call them for Farmer’s to call you back, or Is there a corporate # that you had to call for them to get this resolved for you?
John Larry Huff says
Evidently, Farmers got information from this site and my telephone number from their records. The personable representative knew information that was not available anywhere else but in my records. I did not have to call them…..The representative gave my his number with the invitation to call him if I needed assistance. He certainly went the extra mile.

Hartselle AL Farmers Insurance.
Inept. Absolutely inept. DO NOT USE FARMERS. They will find every way possible to cheat you out of money and then blame you while they do! My ‘agent’ said that because they made so many mistakes on my policy, causing me to make multiple calls to straighten out their mistakes, my coverage amount was decreased by 25K, my premium went from $1085 down to $970, but….my refund check was only $47. Why? Because I made so many changes!! These were not changes, they were corrections to the mistakes Regina and Megan made on my account. I had to make the changes because her office put in information that was wrong. Several times. She tried to blame it on the person she had just fired (Megan), but it was the person STILL in the office who made most of the errors! Two months later, (yes TWO MONTHS) I received a policy in the mail that was NOT for my home – the address was correct but most everything else was wrong. Coverage was $152k. I had paid for $162k. The contents coverage was based on the 162 amount, and some of the other coverages were on 152, and no one is sure what one of the other coverage amount was based on. By the time my agent finished, my coverage had decreased to $136k, my premium was reduced to $970, and she told me I would receive a refund of $117. I got $47. FORTY SEVEN.
Since I was being truthful and correcting the mistakes SHE made, I get penalized for that.
Cancelled my home and auto today. Nancy Hardin of Hartselle, and her office staff Regina and Megan (recently fired so everything is blamed on her) messed up my policy so badly it had to be cancelled (without MY approval!!) and redone. Nice work Nancy.

My husband has had Farmers for more than 20 years. He had an accident in Sept 2013, he was hit while at a stop light (by another farmer’s customer). His agent Diane Hamilton is the worst person to get a hold of, so we tried her supervisor Kevin Oxborrow and he just transfers us back to her! I cannot believe they treat their customers this way and then expect us to purchase other products. We cannot wait until this claim is complete!!!

The adjuster is worse person that I ever met. His name is Nicholas portnoy in phoenix. His manager is Michael Beale. I have to do adjuster’s work and he is saying that he is giving a favor to calling me back, follow up my case. I don’t really understand what is his job is. He is the insurance adjuster so he has to follow up the claim and request the paperwork. I am not the one who is doing a job for him. I was out from work almost two months. I sent him the paper from HR saying that I was out from work from period of time . He said that he is not able to figure out the letter from my HR. He want the LETTER HEAD from my HR stating that my hourly wage (not yearly salary) including how many days that I was missing from work. Can’t he able to figure out from my pay check. My HR letter is already stated that from the first day of missing work to the day that returned back to work. I was even get told by him saying that I should not seen the doctor by looking at the pic of my damage during my injured. I just want to let Farmer company know that every employee is the image of their company. They have a right to know that who is working for them and how their employee are treating to other people. I am not going to recommend anybody to use farmer insurance and let other people know about my experience with farmer insurance.

An open letter to Farmers Insurance and all clients & prospective clients!
ON May 14, 2013 I was PARKED in my auto at a gasoline bay where I had just finished filling my tank. I had a passenger, both of us, 60 something Grandmas. We were hit by a truck taking a shortcut thru the station. He was insured by Farmers. When asked to provide a Driver’s license, he provided a Peruvian ID. They were good about paying for the damages to my car. Will give them that, they accepted 100% liability via email within a few hours. HOWEVER, we both suffered whiplash type injuries and required treatments from a chiropractor for a few weeks. Imagine our surprise when we were told that Farmers only pays what they consider to be “usual and customary” fees for medical treatment and they get to decide what that is! They decided that they would pay roughly half of our expenses. Mind you, we are out of shape grandmas, NOT out looking for lawsuits, just expecting our expenses to be met. We finally decided to try small claims court where we won the case but because we neglected to provide a letter from the doctor stating that the accident caused our injuries we were not awarded the medical payments even though we presented the bills in court.
KUDOS to HARTFORD, my insurance company who accepted the bills from the doctor and paid them without question!
SHAME ON FARMERS! You may have avoided paying a few thousand dollars (less than $9,00 for both of us) but the bad publicity and loss of respect for your company and business practices can’t come close!

I was a Farmers customer for 27 years and have recently switched to E-surance. My previous agent was great, but due to illness sold his office to Geoffrey Baughman in Boulder City, Nevada. I didn’t like the coverage or rates last fall through Baughman, so as my policy was up for renewal, I switched to e-surance. Great customer service and rates!! I didn’t cancel my policy, just didn’t renew with Farmers. I recently received a refund check of $78.07 I didn’t know they were holding, but appreciated the return and deposited it. This past week I received a letter from a collection agency for $15.00 for a cancellation fee Farmers agent says I owe. How can they charge you for something you didn’t do???? Didn’t cancel policy, I just didn’t renew. Now I’m gonna have a credit ding!!! Thanks.

I was a Farmer’s Rep. Due to health issues I had to stop selling insurance. I was convinced by my District manager to remain on until the end of the year. I trusted him, however, I was being charged for advertising fee’s etc until December. First mistake trusting. I was told by another Agent which I trained with that I could do paper work for her a couple days a week when I was up to it. Jeanine Atiq, well again Trust is non-existent for this company. Two years no longer an agent, I receive a W2, called not nice at all won’t listen. Then a few months later I have customer’s that I introduced to farmer’s tracking me down. My name is show as their Agent with a phone number (not mine) that is disconnected. It took me 3 days of being on the phone to find someone that would help these customer’s. Same thing happened a 2nd time, customer used every fowl word out there, me crying or staying how sorry I was could not make him stop.
They cancelled policies, actually spoke with someone and Farmer’s continues to take money from them. They now want to cancel their life insurance policies. Which I must stay that they do have good policies for kids. Again tried to find someone to help them, someone called then told them “well I can’t help you unless you have the policy number”.
I have lost so much money with this company trying to be a good agent. I had no help from my district, who promises you the world when they interview you. However, promised a mailing and a couple of other marketing tools to help me out. Which I was excited about until the funds came from my check..
With all of the negative and money loss I encountered with Farmer’s I knew it would not be good to jump policies, well my 3 years is up and Thank GOD I finally get to take 6 auto policies, homeowner and life insurance policies to another company. I know they will find away to get extra money out of me and I’ll be ready. After all I know how their trained.

I really do not where to start complaing about this company. I am a new customer
I received a quote May 21,2013 for a policy that I wished to open July 14,2013. I paid the agent $115.o5(as requested) four apolicy in the amount of $720.00. The fee was 20.00 If the insurance was not paid in two payments. I receiverd a V.I.P policy with a payment due in the amount of $ 17.780 for june 14,2010. I called to ask why I owed money before July 14,2013. I was told that the policy had been sent in error and that I could not have that policy. I was given a different policy that was changed several times. I was charged additional amounts for a policy due before July 14 , 2013. I recently received a bill for $70.22 due, July14,2013. I have called several times, I was placed on hold for mor than a an hour. My agent refused to return the phone calls. I have requested a paper copy of the policy. I have do idea what my $115.05 was used for,or how much coverage I have or why my insurance is countinuously going up. I have not signed for any of these changes. I need a different agent, a policy that I agree with, a reduction for having a car insurance policy with Century 21. I am waiting for you clarification of these problems. The original policy was a V.I.P policy. I should receive a discount for car insurance with Century. I would also lilke to select a new insurance agent. I have not signed for any policy.
I have not received a new policy. I have received several bills due before the policy was effective.I paid $115.05 may 20th for a policy effective date of 7/14/13. That money has since been used to reduce coverage changes prior to the policy effective date. The policy recieved May 20th was a V.I.P policy, which the agent said I was not suppose to have. I than had to agree on another policy. I have not recieved a paper copy of the policy( I previously advised the agent that I donot want to go paperless).I have called Mr.Lauri office several times to speak with him or his assistant. I have not received a response. Several changes has been made to this policy before it’s effective date. I did not make them. The first bill was due in June fo $17.80.. I have received two more bills since than each one higher than the last one. The last one was $70.22 a month. I have not signed for a policy or receved a policy. The letter recieved from the company seems to state ” that Farmers is not resposiblle for coverage of the home insurance policy if the company does not have the money to pay for the for the coverage on the current policy” Is that Correct? I need agent that can answer some of the policy rules. I also need to eighther agree or disagree with the policy that I have not received before any additional payments are made.

To Mr. Dailey: I just received my renewal policy premium for my homeowners insurance from Farmers, and my rate has gone up 40% (a $700 increase)!!! The premium is due in less than 3 weeks. I have sent a note to my agent for an explanation, and would also appreciate an explanation from you why this excessive rate increase has occurred? I simply do not understand this? I am in shock. I have been a customer of Farmers in Texas for 13 years, and have had 1 roof claim — a few minor claims that were denied (including a large pipe burst that flooded our kitchen while we were out of town, destroyed the ceiling and more). I have also filed an inquiry with the Texas Department of Insurance. I would appreciate an explanation why Farmers has imposed this EXCESSIVE and unreasonable rate increase on its loyal customers. (P.S. — I have also had my auto insurance with Farmers for 13 years). I will expect a response to this inquiry as soon as possible. One other quick note – I noticed in the management section of the Farmers website that you have 13 men and 1 WOMAN in leadership positions. I’m sure your wife and daughters will tell you this isn’t 1950 anymore.
Cindy says
Hi Cassie –
I have the same complaint as you. Have been a Texas Farmers customer for 22 years with no major claims – just a few broken windows. Now my rate went up $700 this year. I asked my agent, Curtis Hart, for an explanation, but he would not return my call. I left a second message and then received an updated Declaration page in the mail, where he cut back our coverage to provide a refund. I didn’t ask for a reduced rate, just an explanation. Is it even legal to make changes like that without the insured’s consent? Never talked to the guy since I got stuck with him two years ago when Farmers moved my policy to his office. Whenever I called there, the secretary took care of whatever I needed. Obviously customer service is not his thing. Just went to another Farmers agent today who explained to me that it was an across the board rate jump with all insurance companies because of all the damage from storms in recent years. I don’t see how it is fair for me to pay extra when between my cars and house, we have made a huge contribution, without ever receiving a benefit. At least the second agent treated me like my concerns were important. Just switched my policies to his office today. Good luck to you.

To whom it may concern,
My husband and I were involved in an accident on April 26th 2013 around 2:00p.m. with one of your policy holders. The past 4 weeks has been the worst experience in our lives with an insurance company, we have been treated very poorly and feel a since of disrespect by your staff that works for your company, as if the accident was our fault. my husband Mr. Reginald Simmons Sr. has tried on several occasions to reach your staff Adam Lynch whom has stated on more than one occasion that he’s not the person that is handling our claim and informed my husband that someone by the name of Ryan is the contact person my husband informed Mr. Lynch that he has not had any luck reaching Ryan, and that at this point the only thing that he’s concern about is getting his truck fix since it has already been 2 weeks in the shop, Mr. Lynch informed my husband that he has a rental and that Farmers is paying for it, as if that should ease his mind of the concerns of his vehicle, to us that was an insult we don’t want a rental we just want our vehicle fixed!!!!! Before repairs started my husband received a call from one of your adjusters stating that the damage that was wrong with the vehicle was not cause by the impact of the accident which included the engine light coming on and the speakers not playing but before the accident none of this was an issues, my husband had just purchased his truck 2 weeks before the accident, my husband said he didn’t want to argue with the adjuster, he’s a very easy going person and don’t like confrontation, but I on the other hand don’t take being treated unfair easily, there was not one thing wrong with our vehicle until April 26th 2013!!!!!!!!! After putting our vehicle in the shop we were told that there were several things that were broken during the impact which clearly states that we were hit harder than the adjuster assumed doing the observation of our vehicle. we were informed that your company ordered the wrong part for our vehicle during the first week of repair instead of letting the repair shop do their job, and the part did not fix. after speaking to the repair man from Crain’s on several occasions we were informed that they were waiting on your company to send payment for our vehicle , we are very upset with the hold process this has been the worst experience ever dealing with your company.
Personal injury: Ms. Sara Black has contact my husband on his claim for injuries but I Kimberly Clay-Simmons has not heard from anyone at this time,
I’m very concern about the hold process I feel that we are not being treated unfairly, I pay my insurance faithfully and to think that if I cause an accident with someone and they are treated the way that my husband and I have been treated I’ll surely change insurance company.
Sincerely , Kimberly Clay-Simmons

That was May 6 and on May 10th I personally took the paper work and handled it to Elizabeth Mares. She told me she would call the office and get it canceled on May 13, 2013 and have them send me the refund overnight. As of Friday she said she delegated it to someone else to do and they did not do as told. Now I am going to cancel my trip to see my 81 year old mother because I had to pay the mortgage company back for sending farmers the check for house insurance on February 18, 2013. I am at wits end and I will be filing a complaint with the insurance commission at noon today if I do not hear from anyone. That is so unfair that Farmers would do this to a person. They totally lied to me since I had insurance with Farmers. I need help from the corporate office. I can pick up the check at the 37th st office in Wichita Kansas and I told her this too.

Dear: Jeffrey John Dailey
I was in one of your training courses and lost all interest when I asked the District manager for help in learning the policies so that I could sell them properly. He replied I you are trying to learn the policies before you sell them you are going to fail. Just sell the policies that is why you have Errors and Ommissions. Is this the way that Farmers want there agents to sell there product? If so then I could not be affiliated with this company. My friend that works for the CA. Department of Insurance says that this must be just one bad apple. It would be unethical to do business this way. I am hoping to get a reply to this Email quickly. I enjoy what I have learned about insurance and I have always liked Farmers. But after spending 21 years in the Military protecting our country I can not bring myself to do something unethical. Errors and Ommissions should be for an honest mistake not because a district manager is to lazy to properly teach his people. I do understand that he is the owner of his district but I am sure that there are rules that Farmers says he has to follow. There are other things that he is doing that I don’t feel are right but this was the most unethical of them all. I can’t wait to hear your reply.

Dear Mr. Daily: This is a letter of complaint.
In September of 2012 I began asking for proof of insurance for a customer. On May 10, 2013 I was told that there is a “corporate computer issue” but am unclear as to what this issue is. As you can see, I have been waiting for proof for more than six months.
I have been in contact on numerous occasions with the agent and district manager and the blame always goes back to the corporate office. My other customers who use Farmers Insurance receive their policy information in a timely manner. I am unclear as to why only one of my customers is having this problem.
Since I am unable to obtain information and assistance locally I am asking for help from the corporate office to resolve this issue.
My customers information is as follows:
Melvin Schrock
Policy #XXXXXX-75-70
Property Address: XXXXX Mark Avenue, Elgin IL and XXXX Kathleen, Elgin IL
I am asking for a copy of the policy that indicates both properties, which, if I am to understand correctly, is an issue with the corporate office.
Chris Rath & Lori Weber says
I just found out that one of your agents : Lee Rockwell Of Mount Pleasant, WI. Just admitted to me that his office had some sort of computer issues and it seems to be happening more often. He also admitted that it seems his office is the ONLY one with these problems. He also mentioned that not only was there an issue concerning our account but a few others as well. He had 3 of our credit card numbers. ( as well as the other clients with these issues(?)) And normally he would destroy them after he put them in computer. Question 1: why would he have to write them down? he should just enter them into the computer (like everyone else). Not writing them down where others may find. He also admitted he kept them (in his safe) just in case something like this would occur. WHAT should OCCUR ??
Incident 1: He charged wrong card number. Money was withdrawn and because THAT money should have NEVER been charged to that card when a purchase was made an over draft occurred – causing one huge headache and more money out of pocket. I am now out triple the amount of what my policy would have been (had it been on the CORRECT card this would have never happened)!!! Wonder who plans on paying that amount back? That’s right we are just out of luck on that one- correct?! Then added other card…money was also with drawn. So, 2 payments 1 policy ???
Incident 2: We were talking on the phone he had rattled most of the numbers off to me (of 2 out of the 3 cards)- now if he was able to do that… how were they in the safe!?! He has absolutely NO BUSINESS keeping that information, Makes one wonder.
I am sorry I NO LONGER TRUST THIS MAN! And neither should you!!! You really want someone like this representing YOUR company? If so, you will loose many many clients in this area (at least the clients in his office)!!
I want you to understand we do like Farmer Insurance and have never had ANY trouble before. We plan to stay with Farmers. However, we will be changing agents and hopefully not another one like Mr. Rockwell!
