Lincare was founded in 1972 as a spinoff from Union Carbide. The company provides oxygen and oxygen supplies, as well as respiratory therapy services.
The Linde Group acquired Lincare in August 2012 for an estimated $41.50 per share.
The leading provider of respiratory health aides and services, Lincare is playing a large role during the COVID-19 crisis, providing oxygen to patients at home and creating space in hospital facilities by transferring respiratory patients from in-patient care to in-home care.
The company provides services under several names, including Medilink, Med-Home, and American HomePatient.
Lincare continues to expand despite the fact that the 1997 Balanced Budget Act put a cap on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements on the services it provides. Medicare and Medicaid payments account for approximately 60% of the company’s revenue. In addition to providing oxygen, the company also provides infusion therapy, palliative care, hydration therapy, chemotherapy, AIDS-related therapies, inhalation therapy, and enteral and parenteral nutritional care; and some home-use medical equipment, including ventilators, wheelchairs, walkers, and hospital beds.
Lincare and other in-home health services corporations are expecting explosive growth through 2026.

Lincare Huntsville, AL is terrible too! My wife was diagnosed with aFib & COPD this past January 2023. Her physician set up an appointment with Lincare, she was placed on oxygen 24/7 as her numbers were in the low 80’s without continuous oxygen. The small bottles were, are too heavy for her to lug around on her shoulders as she has a dad back. We inquired with the local Lincare provider regarding the portable light weight oxygen generator. We were told my wife must average using eight bottles a month or more for three continuous months before Medicare would approve it. My wife qualified for the oxygen generator pump after three months. Lincare tells us they ordered the oxygen generator in early April, it’s ten weeks later with no oxygen generator. We inquire weekly regarding the order status and we’re told the generator is back ordered and they have no idea when or if it will ever arrive locally! I called Inogen directly to inquire about the possibility of working directly with them. I was told I/We have a (5) year contract with Medicare for Lincare and they cannot provide one for my wife through insurance, due to the (5) year Medicare contract which WE knew nothing about! However they would be happy to sell us one for $3,900.00 ! I can’t begin to express my disappointment, distrust and dislike for Lincare! I called the Lincare WeCare customer service representative and never received a human answer after holding for 15 minutes listening to the recording telling me how important my call was! This company is a Joke, once they have you hooked you can’t get out of the five year Medicare contract…the contract Lincare failed to mention when we initiated service! DO NOT use Lincare if you have a choice!

Lin-care in Colorado just dont give a damn about serving the people whom they are suppose to serve Durango Colorado, and Pagosa Springs Colorado offices Dont supply noting for supply’s that are needed in a home to the people they suppose to be helping. If a person calls in to either one of the offices asking for supply’s they want them to drive over and pick it up themselves they dont do deliveries or so they claim they dont. The ones that dont drive and they dont have a helper in the homes they get snubbed by Lin Care employees. They dont want to be bothered by people What in the hell are us people suppose to do if they dont want to be bothered for getting supply’s for Why are they in business in the first place. If and since they dont give a sh*t about the people they claim they serve in our area. Lin Care is a Sh*tty company in the 4 corners. Either sh*t or get up off the pot so we can have a caring company who is not a Lin care company come in and serve the people like they suppose to serve .
I will sue the Lin care company if things dont straighten out I mean it I am tired of fighting for my supply’s.

Missouri is the same. The local office manager actually yelled at me while on the phone. She should be fired or at the very least suspended until she completes further training. I am currently on a rare ventilator and Lincare bills my insurance company $4000/mo! This manager tells me my insurance company requires they come out, get the numbers and hour of use each month or they won’t pay for it. So I called my insurance company. This stuff the manager was telling me was a lie! When I told her I called my insurance company for verification this manager got irate towards me! She began yelling and threatening to take the ventilator back. Do they not know it is us, the patient that not only pays their wages but also keeps the company in business? Do they not know they would be unemployed if it wasn’t for us? My insurance company tried to 3 way call Lincare. We sat on hold for 35 minutes then disconnected when Lincare closed for the day. My insurance company and I were shocked!
Lincare needs to get their act together for sure, answer their phones and treat the patients who call in a courteous and timely manner.
I will not drive to get my supplies. They can either bring them or mail them and I won’t take no for an answer.

Lincare in Odessa Tx is the worst organization I have ever seen when it comes to patient caring and customer service. When you are told to go elsewhere, after a doctor has submitted a prescription for supplies and equipment. These people, from Ohio, are the worst I have ever seen and my doctor was appalled by our experience. However these people could give a good damn at what the doctor has ordered for his patient. If my wife has repercussions from the lack of oxygen and needed equipment—I will hire an attorney and I will file charges for injury to the elderly. Lincare cares NOTHING for patients and their families

This company is a nightmare to deal with. I keep getting a bill that I’m not responsible for and they say it’s taken care of and the next month I get another bill and I call him again and I’m told the same thing now they’re sending me two bills a month I’m now done with the oxygen I have to go for a test get lincare before my doctor will order them to pick it up it’s been 2 weeks now I’ve been waiting for them to call me for an appointment and I call their office in Lockport New York and no one ever answers the phone and from all the comments I read this is pretty common their customer service is horrible

The Ogallala Nebraska office is the most horrible office to deal with. My mother was without oxygen all night last night and when I went to the Ogallala Office this morning to let them know that her Concentrator was in need of repair, they told me there wasn’t anyone going up that direction. Why have the service if “WE DON’T HAVE THE SERVICE?” Get your p**p in a group, Lincare of Ogallala!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lincare is one of the most horrible companies to deal with. They are rude and do not tell the truth. They charged me $87 for a small packet of filters for the cpap. When I called to ask about it Tina hung up on me
Scott Ground says
This has to be the most inept company I’ve ever dealt with! I asked to be set up for an automatic refill each month on my Cpap supplies over a month ago… come to find out it was never set up. Now I’m being told that they have to search for the “recorded conversation” in order to fix and verify….What!!?
Just set me up now… apparently that’s to much like rocket science.

I have no words to say, how irresponsible, and in lack of customer training this company has. I have been an average now of over 20 hrs trying to resolve a 50 dollar copay, that I am not responsible for, and I still get harassed every month with a late fee for those 50 dollars. If there was any other option with a cpap supplier, you can surely know that I would not be a customer of this company. Their lack of responsibility or willingness to help a patient is absolutely incredible. They should not be in the health management industry.

I have spoken to the customer billing dept. and I have spoken on the phone to my local distributer in Winter Haven, Florida about my issues with their service. I have even gone in person to the Winter Haven office to speak to them and the manager refused to accept any responsibility for the billing abnormalities on my account. I realized when I received my first bill from them that in retrospect, the representative who came out and set up our machine (who had to make 2 trips because he had the wrong stuff and on the second trip out still had some of the wrong stuff) that he had never given us a contract to sign or discussed the billing terms with us. When I called the billing dept. I was told that they had tried my credit card on file twice and it had been declined so they decided to send me an invoice. I was so distracted by my husband’s condition, I just wrote a check and sent it in. Immediately after receiving the check, a withdrawal was made by phone from my checking account without my permission (my credit union is doing a fraud investigation now.) Very soon after, I received another invoice asking for two payments of twenty something dollars each stating I was late on my payments. When I was speaking to the manager at the Winter Haven location he informed me that he did not have to give me a new contract because he had kept all my old information on file from when my husband had previously been a customer. He said there was no need for a contract because the original one was still valid even though they had forced us to return the original machine because my husband wasn’t able to log the hours needed for medicare. The manager also informed me that he kept all of our medical and billing information for 10 years. Even hospitals purge their records after 6 or 7 years, so I do not believe this man is operating within legal boundaries. I would like for you to contact the Winter Haven office at 90 Avenue A SE WH,FL 33880-6322 and inform them that they need to close out my old account, issue a new account, draw up a new contract outlining the billing terms and then to go over the billing with me. I have already spoken to the billing dept. and they sent me back to the local office, and the local office keeps directing me back to the billing dept. I think it’s time someone from corporate stepped in. thank you

My insurance company needs to know that they are getting billed /or are paying for services and items not provided to medicare patients. I also think that Lincare is one of the most incompetent and rude companies I have ever dealt with. I don’t have a choice in who provides my oxygen and medical supplies? That is what Lincare told me. Something about a 5 year contract with Medicare? This is wrong and I am not happy.
