Hello
I eat from Chopt frequently, Unfortunately the restaurant is only near me at work. Please, please, please consider opening one in Prince William County, Va.
I really appreciate your salads and wraps, and he awesome customer service.

I enjoy the food at Chopt in West Hartford, CT, but not the interaction with the employees. You are greeted with the words, welcome to Chopt, but their attitudes gives you a different message. They are not friendly or pleasant. The female manager always has a sour face. No consideration for people with allergies.

I recently went in to chopt the Westbury location, I had the most pleasant encounter with an employee by the name of Ashley. I had a large order she was so patient. I kept saying I bet you’re like I took the wrong customer, she told me it was no problem and was very nice. I come every Saturday and she is the only employee I’ve seen adhere to food safety because I have an allergy I told her this she said it made her day. I just wanted to leave this message in hopes she sees it! She was great ! I hope she’s there every Saturday.

I arrived at the Montvale, NJ location after placing my order today, indicating that the order was to be curbside when I placed the order on the App. I provided the make and model of my vehicle on the App. When I received the text stating that the order was ready I responded by texting back “Here”. I received a text in response stating that the order was going to be brought out to my vehicle. I waited and waited and no one came out with my order.
At 1:24 p.m. I put on a mask and went into the store. The store employees advised me that someone must have ‘taken’ my order. I asked how someone could have taken the order if it was to be a ‘curbside’ pick up order. The employees advised me that their job was to make the food and put it on the counter and that it is not their job to make sure that it gets to me(?). They advised me that it is not their problem that someone took my order, and that it is not their responsibility because that’s not their job(?) When they were imparting this information to me they were yelling and leaning forward in a rude and threatening manner in an attempt to intimidate me, telling me that it’s not their problem that someone took the food, and that I should have come in myself to pick it up (?) even though I indicated ‘curbside’ when I ordered on the App. They said people often request curbside but come in and take the food.
They did offer to remake the order, but once I saw that they were not fully masked (masks around their chins or on their necks, not over their mouths or noses) and that they looked disheveled and the restaurant didn’t really look clean, I decided to request a refund instead. I then asked to speak to the manager because I thought the manager should be aware of what was happening. At that point the employee refused to do the refund. I asked why and she said it’s because I asked to speak to the manager (?)
The manager “Brandon” came outside of the store to speak with me. Despite being in the bathroom when his employees were yelling at me, he told me that he has the greatest employees and that they are never rude(?). He also reiterated that their job is to put the food on the counter and it’s not their responsibility to get the food out to the car to me, and not their responsibility to make sure that the curbside pickups are not taken by other people who come in. He told me that people come in and take which ever orders are put out and that it’s not his or their job to make sure it gets to the right people or not. He also told me that it was my fault because the person who must have come in to take the food did so before I texted the word “Here” (?)
At this point, once I realized that your manager was equally as rude as the other employees, and also clearly lacking any concern for customer service, I asked for the refund to be issued. He told me that it would take 3-5 business days.
I will dispute any charge from this food purchase because I never received any food.
I will never, nor will my friends and family, purchase any food products or recommend anyone purchase any food products at Chopt.
I’m sincerely disappointed that the culture within your business enables your employees and even your managers to show absolutely no respect or concern for the consumer, even a consumer who makes frequent purchases at this business.

I placed an order today from the Chop’t in Arlington, VA. I have eaten there before and food was good. Today my experience was not the same. I could not eat the salad it tasted so bad. I ended up throwing it away and ordering a sandwich from a local cafe. I was very disappointed I am not sure I will be ordering again. Something diffently went wrong with the quality control today. My son ordered a bowl and it was great! Just wanted to provide you with some immediate feedback on my experience.
Thank you for your time,

First of all – This corporation does NOT read or care about the communities they serve.
I have tried to email, call, and finally write to their corporate office.
The Annapolis, MD store is absolutely AWFUL! Salads are wilted, arrive VERY late when ordered ahead online, the y prop the doors open on 90 degree weather and the employees are the ones that suffer.
My office order was 24 minutes late from the pickup time I was sent. $30 down the drain as we missed our lunch hour and had virtual calls to get back to. Also …..the orders were incorrect!!
Chopt SUCKS – someone needs to file a complaint with OSHA and the local health department. Guess I’ll make those calls next.

I agree. I will never go into another Chopt Establishment!!! I went to the one near me in Montvale New Jersey. Was the only person there waiting for someone to take my order. Three girls were standing there chatting. One itching her hair and grabbing salad how disgusting. Not one looked up and said a word I waited looked for a few minutes walked out.. horrible horrible horrible. If you are viewing this the owner of chopt in Montvale it’s your staff on 7/24 at 3:45 PM….

I ordered through DoorDash salads from Chopt in Greensboro NC 3/6/21. The order I received was not what I placed. They substituted the Pablo chicken I requested with grilled chicken. When I called about my order I spoke with a male who identified himself as the manager named Chet. To my horror his level of customer service left much to be desired. So when asked to whom he reported, he gave a name of Joyce. When asked when Joyce will be available he said she opens tomorrow. So he was asked, well what time do you open and his response was “when we open”. Today I called and spoke with Joyce Bowman who was over Chet. Before I could explain my concern she cut me off with DoorDash does tell you if a restaurant is out of an item we can just replace with an item of equal value. When I asked her to please allow me to speak to voice my concern, she did allow me to speak. I told her that DoorDash does not give a disclaimer that says that and Chet could have easily just said, I am sorry for your inconvenience, next time you place an order we can give you 5% or something off but instead his response was call and argue with DoorDash and hung up. After hearing my complaint Joyce did offer to replace the salads free but I don’t trust ordering someplace where you’ve made a complaint to properly prepare my food. I did tell her I was going to follow up with corporate she seem not the least bit concerned and I am guessing it’s because I called and was on hold for almost 10 minutes. Needless to say I will not be doing business again with Chopt and also plan on doing a Yelp review

About 80% of the people working the salad line was black when I went there. The store is still awful, but I don’t see racism. I used to love Chopt and unfortunately there are several factors that have changed my mind. I don’t know if its nationwide but at the location I use, everything is prechopped which bruises the lettuce plus the pieces are so small it looks like and tastes like mush. Consequently, most of the salad is tiny bits of lettuce which overwhelm all the other ingredients. In addition, the ingredients do not look fresh and more than once things have been forgotten when using Door Dash or calling ahead for the order. I hope the company reconsiders the current practice of pre-chopping the lettuce etc. to save a little time. I would rather wait and pay for a healthy, delicious salad then be disappointed with a salad that has been massacred.

Good morning,
I visited your location at 1257 First SE in Washington, DC on Tuesday (between 12-12:30 pm) July 30, 2019. My meal was exceptional but the customer service I received from Cholly Estates who was the cashier was horrible. I have never experienced such bad customer service from any of your DC locations so I can truly say I was surprised and somewhat embarrassed. I simply stated to Cholly that I was next in line to pay because she was taking someone in front of me. Cholly then goes to say well I saw her in which the customer was on other side of the way the line was going. So I repeated to Cholly that I was next in line. She caught an instant attitude and yell well look come on and mumbled something under her breath, rolled her eyes, smacked her teeth, and waved her hand. I was actually stunned. I know that there are cameras in this location so it should not be a problem to see this on tape. I asked her what was her name and she ignored me. She then goes to cash me out and practically throws my change in my hand which falls and she has to replace it with getting more change out of the register. I ask to see a manager and once again asked her what was her name and she stills ignores me. Finally she steps away and gets a manager. While all this is going on the employee next to her witnessed it and lets me know that she witnessed it. Cholly has the wrong attitude to be working in customer service. I felt the need to bring this to your attention because Chopt is a great place to eat but I will not spend money where I am mistreated. Thanks for your time.
Respectfully-
Tia Hall

I frequently visit the Chopt at 1730 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW WDC and I’d like to praise/commend the manager (Walter) and his team on their tremendous customer service. I’m one that have lots of allergies so they have to change their gloves, clean the station, etc before preparing my salad and they are always very gracious. SERVICE EXCELLENCE is hard to find so I wanted to take this time to say how much I appreciate the staff at this location!

So, let me start off with that fact that I personally spend between $120-$200 a month on salads at your New Hyde Park NY location, and that doesn’t include the salads that I pick up for my family after work, or on the weekend. In addition, I coordinate orders for 2-4 staff members every time that I go to Chopt, instead of going to the 10 other amazing eateries that are less than a 1/4 mile away. Some of Chopt’s direct competitors are Smashburger, Iavarone Bros Italian food (where they have superb food and superior customer service), and Shake Shack (shall I say any more), just to name a few.
I am accustomed to dealing with Brian, who was an outstanding manager, and who unfortunately is no longer there. Brian has been replaced by Matt, which is a MISTAKE, a BIG MISTAKE. Yesterday, I ordered my usual salad, and it was drenched in salad dressing, making it inedible, but I didn’t complain. I just threw it out and just sucked it up. Some of my coworkers have told me that their orders have been wrong, but they felt that complaining would be pointless.
Today, I placed another order for myself and a co-worker, and when I got back to my office… my order was wrong. Every order that I place has specific instructions, and there’s certainly no misunderstanding as to how I would like it to be prepared. I called Matt and told him that now I have to stop working, and go back again to get a salad that should have been made correctly the first time. I advised him that if it continues, that I would post a negative review online and take my business elsewhere.
When I got back to Chopt for the second time, I told Matt that I wanted to speak with him on the side, and he said that he wanted to speak with me as well. So, he proceeded to tell me that he had a new staff member that prepared my salad, and that he had spoken with her. Standing in the middle of a huge lines he went on to say that he didn’t appreciate my “threat” to post a negative review. I advised him that I didn’t “threaten him” ,but that I was enlightening him that I would definitely post a negative review if I continued to pay for inedible salads. I told him that falsely stating that I threatened him was the incorrect verbiage, but he was adamant that I was wrong, and that he had every right to discipline me. So, now you have a manager running a very successful eatery, who has a big ego, a bigger mouth and no common sense? Matt needs to either be retrained or to be sent to a different location. I am a concierge for high-end sales, and I expect management to lead by example. Matt disciplining me, after I received the wrong order, warrants an immediate change, as his behavior and conflict resolution skills leave a lot to be desired.

I have been trying to contact someone at the company since Saturday. I ordered two salads for pick up at the union station location in Washington, D.C. My mother went to pick them up when she got off the bus but was told the location was closed for an event. She was sent downstairs to another location, but there was no other location. She was unable to pick up the salads and there was no communication about this beforehand. So my order of over $21 was charged, but we then had to buy a different dinner on top of that. I would love if someone could actually contact me. Thank you.

Issue with gift cards
Every year I purchase multiple gift cards from your DC store to give out to my staff through-out the year each valued at $10 each. Well the DC store no longer gives out gift cards they have have switched to paper certificates and informed me that the gift card that I’m in possession of is no longer valid since they have switch to certificates. I purchased the gift card from your DC store and frequent there several times/month. I ask that since you are no longer accepting the gift card if you can exchange it for the gift certificates that you now offer to honor my prior purchase? Is there someone I can speak with directly about this matter since your phone is constantly busy?
Thanks,

Hello,
On Friday January 4, 2019 I as usual visited your Union Station Choot. I walked in an ordered my usual “ Caesar & Kale” salad.
There was a young Woman taking orders & weariing gloves . She continued To take orders writing with a pen with the gloves on and then preparing salads with the same gloves.
By the time I came upon her I asked her nicely “could you please change the gloves before you fix my salad?”
The employee replied “no!!! I change my gloves after I fix five salads, so either I fix your Salad or you don’t want it!!’
Another employee stated to her “why are you talking to the customer like that?”
This employee proceeded to help me and the first employee rolled her eyes and started talking in Spanish where I could not understand her she was talking to a manager.
Another manager that day came out and the worker that help me explain what happened and he offered my salad without pay.
I do appreciate that however I’ve been coming to your store since it first opened in the union station and I have never received any horrible service like this before.
I do not know their names but I do have their pictures I will await your email and I can send you the pictures of your employees.
I am vegan so when I come to Chopt if someone has asked for any meat in front of me I have always asked if you can please change gloves as I do at any other restaurant and it’s never been a problem. This experience was very degrading and uncalled for. No customer should be treated like that!

Love this store. I would visit it more frequently if there were a way to order a salad without using a plastic container. I would sit in the store if permitted, but I still get plastic. I would purchase my own Chopt reusable bowl if that were an option. It’s a great store with locally sourced ingredients. Chopt please just give some thought to how your customers could voluntarily reduce plastic. Since we have $10 to spend daily on salad, an approved reusable bowl seems doable.

The only complaint that I have is that your salad makers use their gloved hand to ring up the charge for the salad. I think that for cleanliness and to avoid any kind of health problems there needs to be someone ringing the sale that is not handling food or the salad makers need to remove their gloves or change them.

This evening my daughter placed an online order (using the Chopt app) at 7:58 pm for pick-up at the Congressional Plaza Chopt location at 1625 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. The app told us it would be ready at 8:30. When I arrived at 8:45 to a completely empty store (so they were not busy at all), they didn’t know where the order was and then went in the back and found it and printed it. One of the employees handed the order to another and he began to make the salad – no explanation, no apology, just started to make it. When I asked about it, they just told me, oh we didn’t see it. I understand mistakes, but it was just this indignant attitude of the staff at this store that was very aggravating. People use apps like this (and pre-pay) because they are in a hurry. When you introduce an app (similar to the Starbucks app which they execute expertly), your employees should be accountable to making sure they are meeting the claims of the service that people are expecting. All in all, the staff at this store were very rude and seemed very committed to doing the absolute minimum with respect to their jobs and any semblance of customer service. It just seems like your staff have no clue about handling the online orders and are completely indifferent to doing a decent job. Why should we ever use this app or come to this store? You really need to do something about how the employees, at least at this particular store, are trained and you should offer something to customers whose orders are not ready (and even more so, whose orders are completely ignored).

Hello: First time visit to Chopt ( New Hyde Pk, NY) for lunch. Ordered a Falafel bowl and Santorini bowl. Good amount of greens ,but the rest of the ingredients seem to be lacking. Falafel balls where tiny, and almost lost in the greens. The Santorini had no red onion or olives. I feel that for a Greek themed salad these two ingredients should be mandatory. BTW I had to pay extra for the olives . I have to compare salad bars at Whole Foods and Fairway before I come to my conclusion if I will try another selection. Nice looking store and impressed with the local sourcing of ingredients.

Please let me know what corporate will do about this situation.

Poor management at chopt in Charlottesville head manager very disrespectful I only worked for 1 1/2 weeks and she was rude to me from the beginning. Her turnover rate is high due to the way she disrespects employees. Her assistant manager Kelsey gave me permission to pick my check up at noon which I thought was very odd. I even called prior to coming and they confirmed that I could pick up my check. Once I got there the head manager completely ignored me, so I stepped out and gave her a call and she would not release my check until after 2pm. Again I called prior to me coming to get the check. Also on my second day there one of the staff found a disgusting slug within some of the lettuce prior to washing it. I am aware that I should be receiving one more paycheck within 2 weeks for the hours I worked this week.

I love your Chopt restaurants! I live in Montgomery County, MD & had been a very frequent customer. I was very upset that you had taken away your delicious white balsamic vinaigrette dressing! I like to make up my own salad & for me, that particular dressing was what made your salads so wonderful! I did complain to several people about that dressing being taken off the menu, but was told there wasn’t anything that could be done, as the decision came from “Corporate.” A few weeks ago I stopped by one of your locations & to my delight my favorite salad dressing was back on the menu! I am soooo happy, so PLEASE don’t remove that dressing again!!
