Rue 21 was originally known as Pennsylvania Fashions Inc.  Pennsylvania Fashions Inc filed for bankruptcy in 2002.  The 250 store chain was purchased by Saunders Karp & Megrue and renamed to Rue 21.

In 2009, the company opened its 500th location and went public.

In 2011, the company announced it would double the size of its distribution center in Weirton, West Virginia.

By 2012, there were 800 stores.

In 2013, the 900th store was opened.

Today, there are 1,213 Rue 21 stores in 48 US states.  The company is a discount retailer of young adult clothing and accessories.

I can’t even begin to tell you how highly disappointed I am in this company. This is been a nightmare as I have spent thousands of dollars with this company. I have spoken to so many reps With this company and supervisors with broken promises cannot get my items cannot get my money back will not get a email response nothing works this company at best has become the lowest of low in customer service. I tried to call corporate today again leave a message will call you back that’s very promising considering nothing has worked to date! I had an order by the time it got to the post office the warehouse that package the order either the people shipping the items and wrapping them packaging night ends can’t even tape the boxes correctly so when it gets to the post office the box is completely open to the point 2 items are left in the box the postmaster had to stamp completely opened item damaged items missing I called I took pictures I got three other different boxes had 4 to 6 items missing between the the hundreds of dollars which wasn’t too bad but still I paid for those items so either expect to get them or to give my money back. What do you have to do with this company to get any help they offer RUe BUcKS😂💆🏼‍♀️that’s quite a joke and when you spend the money they’ll sure take your money pretty quick but they’re not they are of NO help you when they screw up qyour order they say we’re not responsible for damage packages!!! well I’m sorry that your company chooses your shipping method that’s up to you to take care of the issue Not your customers again great service route 21 your company has reached an all time low if I have to I will put it on the news channel I will blast every social media with photos of what is happened with my order and word will get out you don’t deserve business when you treat your customers like you’re nothing but dirt under your feet. Wish I had something positive to say that I don’t everything at this point sucks!

Rue 21 is one of my favorite stores and I bought a ton of stuff in your STORE today, but I will never order online from you ever again. I had to speak with three different customer service reps (One I could barely understand) and they kept telling me false information. I wanted to see if they could edit the size of an order I had placed a few hours before I called (apparently you have no communication with your shipping department) and they kept saying I could return it to the store/exchange (no I cant) or mentioned the 30 minutes deadline for canceling an order which A. You cant return online orders to the store. B. It was an online only shoe. C. I didnt want to cancel an order I just wanted a bigger size. There is no policy/information about editing an order and it’s a crappy policy/you need better communication within the company. I spoke with a customer service manager who also was no help at all and I was definetly not happy/smiling at the end of that phone call. Really horrible customer service in comparison to your store employees. The very least the manager could have said (even if it’s a lie/she has no power), “I am so sorry for the inconvenience and I understand your frustration, I’ll be sure to pass this along so that we can improve our policy.”

I have spent A LOT of money at Rue21. Decided to order online. I am leaving for vacation today I placed the order three days ago and paid 25.00 for ONE DAY shipping. Before placing the order I called to ENSURE I would get my package in one day. I was assured since I placed my order before 1:00 that day it would be packaged and ready to ship that night and I would receive it the following day. They even sent me an email saying my package had been shipped and gave me a tracking number. UPS said they haven’t even picked the package up yet. Called Rue and they said I should get it Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I bought the items SPECIFICALLY for vacation. I am going to be gone a week and I’m sure the package won’t be there when I get back because I live in a very busy neighborhood. Someone will take it for sure. They told me it was still in the warehouse but yet they could not cancel the order that there was nothing they could do. I will find somewhere else to spend my money from now on. Rue seriously has been the ONLY place I spent my money for years now. I even said I would take store credit just as long as I could cancel that order and buy somethin for vacation at a rue21 where I’m vacationing at. I buy my nieces clothes there and my sisters. Im going to continue to call and try to get the order cancelled and get store credit and if they don’t end up doing the right thing I’ll never spend another penny at a rue21. Sad, just sad. Don’t waste your time or money.

I started not to write but what this company has done is despicable. I placed an order in the total of 183.00 with this company and never received my merchandise I stayed home that day to receive my clothes and no one ever showed up I called the carrier company which was FedEx and I was directed to call rue 21 to file a missing package. well as most companies do the blamed each other and FedEx clearly stated since this was a package that didn’t require signature that they could not be responsible for it, that alone you think would allow Rue 21 to replace this package or return my money but they made me go through the process again and I clearly asked how there would be a difference in the discussion since the information had not changed and after speaking with a snide customer service rep I was hung up on after being told I would have to wait another two weeks I spoke to every suppose manager and like I suspected FedEx gave the same information due to package not needing a signature they are not responsible for it. this wasn’t my first package from the company and clearly I spend over a 100.00 dollars each time and didn’t understand why the company would not replace my package or return my money this was unbelievable to me I had never dealt with a company who wouldn’t want to satisfy their customer to any satisfaction I felt like I had been stolen from which I was, if I give you my money for a product and don’t receive it and I inform you and you don’t rectify this your million dollar company has stolen from me a consumer and I will continue to report to every place possible to inform people the type of company this is.

this is for rue 21!!! I had to rate in order to post this…. This is a f-ing rip off store it really is. You better check you receipt, because they steals. Since it allows me to post a picture I will post my receipt so you guys can do the math. Subtotal way off sales prices way off coupon prices way off. And they have the nerve to tell me the computer did it right. Bulls**t who the f**k programs the computer “Humans” they can’t even explain how this subtotal is adding up. I love to shop so it’s their lost. But you better believe I will spread the word about this s**t to everybody. And if I had read all the reviews to corporate, I would have never spent my money here !!!!! I am pissed the f**k off. I hope all yall thevin a**es go out of business!!

After having experienced the Rue21 the worst customer telephone service experience imaginable, I felt I had to write about it. The customer service question I called the 1-800-351-9431 on the back of the gift card said the call was going to be recorded. I seriously hope it was so that someone might listen to the extremely tedious and frustrating nature of the call.
The initial transaction with the store was simple: I purchased 3 – $15 gift cards on December 8, 2016 for holiday gifts – simple. I gave one as a gift but found I didn’t need the other cards. In March 2017, I decided to redeem the cards myself at the local store. One card with a pin number was not scratched off, and it was shown on the paper receipt with the last four numbers printed on the receipt. This was proof the card was never redeemed either through the store or online. The pin number would have been scratched off it it had been redeemed but the scratch-off over the pin was completely intact.
So, I called the 800 number and went through a 27-minute grueling conversation with a telephone customers service agent and his supervisor. The communications were so poor and so confusing – I had to phonetically spell my address no less than 5 times – like talking to a first grader. That was just go get the address across to them – for some reason they could not comprehend the alphabetical letters of my address. I eventually felt they were mocking me in some way by causing me to repeat, repeat the simple address. I offered to send something through the mail i.e.: the receipt I had from December 8, the gift card itself and even to text them my address so they could understand it!!! I still don’t know whether anyone will seriously consider my customer service request – honor the $15 gift card that I paid for on December 8 and yet the card was reflecting that $15 the store received.
I am extremely frustrated by this whole 800 number “customer service” exchange. It was demoralizing, confusing and resulted in no clear idea of whether my card would be recognized as unused. I will never shop at this store again either online or in store (ok if they ever send me a simple $15 refund on my purchase) so this will never be a problem for me again. Consumer beware if you ever must deal with this Rue 21 store or customer service.

I was recently hired by store #669. I usually don’t do this but it’s quite apparent of the issue I’ve had. I wasn’t schedualed to work and out of three weeks I only get threee hours. The store manager gives the newer girls plenty of hours. But not me. I was the only white person there. I do not have an issue with that. Clearly they did. I’m calling racism on this. There is more to it than what all I can type but something needs to be done.

I was an recently an employee of Rue21 and was currently forced to quit my job because I put in my 2weeks notice and found an new job I was not allowed to even finish off my two weeks. Angela Bellamy wasn’t professional at all about the situation just clearly told me to make today my last day working. The experience I’ve had there working these past 9 months were horrible Regener Carswell has the nastiest attitude towards employees and customers. Then they wonder why they can’t keep employees within the store. Nobody never makes it past 2/3 days with her if yall talked to the past employees this past 8 months you would see she’s clearly the problem on my they can’t keep any employees. She bullies everybody that walks thru the doors til the old associates call it Ms.Deshea’s boot camp. I seriously think this store needs to be up under new management because the way she treats people is ridiculous and this matter should’ve been handled some time ago. They will never keep anybody due to her ways, her attitude and how she goes about situations. She clearly runs everybody off and lies about everything to make herself look good so she doesn’t get in trouble. I wish this would be investigated because this company is missing out of a lot of good people, customers and employees. Her sister works here which shouldn’t be allowed who steals time and doesn’t clock out when she goes to her college classes during work hours I have screen shots of where she changes her time for her and is always late. This is just one place I wouldn’t recommend anybody to work at until there’s new management involved.

St. Cloud Mn, has one of the worst rue21 stores that I have been too. The store manager was really rude to me and wouldn’t let me exchange a shirt that I got that had a small hole in the back from a sensor. I called the store before I went in and someone told me I could do an exchange but the store manager said that it looked too worn to even be exchange when all I did was take the tags off. And not to mention that when I came in the manager was on her phone and not paying attention to customers. So I will not be coming back to this store unless things change.

I am truly upset with the interaction of the manager and associate in front of their customers. I went and returned items I purchased and as I was waiting for them to finish my transaction a woman came in asking about job openings. Once that happened everything ceased and it was like nobody knew how to multi task, I stood around waiting for the manager to finish my return with her employee, keep in mind they both were right in front of me. Even then I was polite and quiet, this woman was asking questions just trying to get information and when she left the manager, in front of other customers, says “So irritating, I hate when people use the word Lit” , I personally felt the woman who came in had charisma, and the associate helping me says “she can take her a** back to paris”. Really? How rude and unprofessional. I became upset with what they said but continued to mind my own business. As I was leaving the employee didn’t detatch the sensor so I beeped as I walked out and when I came in, the manager goes ahead and says in the rudest tone ” next time, we won’t take something like this because of the stains, so don’t wear it next time”. I returned a cap, one I purchased for my sister who didn’t like it enough to put it on her head, and I for sure didn’t put it on, it went into a box as soon as I got it. so if your employees at Rue 21 in Maplewood, MN can learn better customer service and learn how to be professional, that would be appreciated, other then that, I won’t be going back again.

Rue 21 has terrible customer service agents who can’t even help you resolve a simple problem that wasn’t your fault to begin with. I ordered a couple things from the site a couple days agai and DAYS after my purchase I got an email saying that one of the items I’ve purchased have gone out of stock. Why is it that items I’ve ALREADY purchased have gone out of stock. That’s pretty irritating to have to deal with after you’ve been expecting the receive that product along with everything else you’ve purchased. Also when I called customer service they said that I would have to check if they had any more of anything similar to the product and that I would have to pay shipping and handling AND whatever the price of the other item is. Why should I have to do all of this spend MORE MONEY, for a problem I didn’t cause. If your items are out of stock DO NOT keep them on your website. I need this issue resolved I am super furious, & very tempted to not shop at rue 21 again.

My daughter spent her Christmas gift card on this site, her phone autocorrected a number on the shipping address. So we tried several times to contact these people to get it corrected and of course no reply! When the items were on the way back to them we tried again to just get it shipped back out and all they will do is a refund. Which now the items aren’t available to purchase of course and I just do not see why you even have a so called customer service contact if you’re not even going to help your customers?? Who does that?? I work as a shipping manager myself and we would NEVER just tell a customer pretty much to bad. I called today and after 17 minutes on hold I was told again all they can do is issue a refund when the items arrive back. It’s just ridiculous to me because really you’re giving up $70 in sales and a pissed off customer that will NOT buy from you again. I know $70 isn’t anything to you but piss enough people off and it adds up quick.
So just HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer Service!!!
Definitely Would NOT recommend this place and for sure Do NOT try to get any where with their so called customer service department.

I purchased a gift card for my daughter on December 18, 2016 for a Christmas gift. January 5, 2017 she went on-line and purchased four shirts. Today is January 23, 2017 still no order. I called this number: 1-867-533-4783 that was provided on the website. The representative said “the card is on hold?” I said “why?” He said “you have to wait until a review board looks at it.” Again I said “why?” And he says “Because it’s on hold!” I asked to speak to a supervisor and the representative said “he can’t take calls.” “Really?” So I hung the phone up and called the number that was on the back of the gift card. (1-800-351-9431) still no help! I was told the same thing “the card is on hold” I asked to speak to a supervisor. The representative put me on hold for 15 mins. And asked “can I help you?” Same person and NO supervisor! I told the representative to “cancel my order and I promise not to deal with Rue 21 ever again!” She said “It will take up to 48 hours for the supervisor to email you and let you know that they have cancelled your order. “Hopefully who ever is the supervisor is will cancel my daughter’s order. I’m so disappointed in Rue 21’s customer service and company. Please Do Not shop or buy an item with gift cards from their company! 😠

My recommendation: don’t waste your valuable time or hard-earned money purchasing anything from this company. Can’t even deliver a gift card in a timely fashion. Worst customer service ever!!

I made the mistake of purchasing gift cards for both of my nephews as holiday gifts from Rue 21. Two separate gift cards purchased on the same order and sent to the same address. I purchased them on Dec 11th. One arrived on Dec 20th, the other did not make it there. I first tried to go through customer service online through my original email order. I sent them all the information using their customer service website explaining which gift card with the order number did not arrive. No email or reply was ever sent back in response. Attempted to call on several occasions for which I was on hold for over 20 minutes before you even can get a representative on the phone. Once I received a rep, they weren’t able to figure out where the card had gone and placed it as a stolen card. I was told their corporate headquarters would issue a new card under the same order number and ship it out. Ok fine. When I asked for a tracking number and expedited shipping I was told they could not do either. That they had no control over the shipping of their cards and that I would receive an email with tracking information from corporate within 24-48 hours. That was over a week ago. No email ever came. My nephew has still not received the card. Tonight I called customer service again. Was on hold again for roughly 20 minutes as usual. I finally get a rep, explain the scenario once again only to find out that allegedly the card was shipped out only today. And the card is supposed to be at its destination by January 20th. Wow! Another 7 days after all the inconvenience of multiple calls & emails for something as simple as a gift card ordered on Dec 11th. Stellar customer service. Honestly I could order on Amazon tonight and have it emailed to my nephew in probably 20 minutes. 7 days? When I questioned why it’s taken over a week to ship out and why it will be an additional week of shipping, I was told Rue 21 uses an outside company for their gift cards and they’ve had multiple complaints. I informed her that maybe they should consider switching to a different company who cares about customer service. When I asked for a tracking number for this alleged shipment, she told me she couldn’t provide me with that either. I proceeded to inform her that if she could not provide me with a tracking number today, that I wished to have my money reimbursed at this point. I hardly want to wait another week just to find out once again it has not arrived. She then said she could try to get a tracking number by tomorrow possibly. I told her “no”, if you can’t provide it now then I just want to be reimbursed. I’ve waited long enough. I find it interesting that they have no issues taking my money online for a gift card quick as can be, but when there is a problem they provide such poor customer service. The representative again tried to convince me to give her more time to get a tracking number for me. I told her, “No, no, no! Just refund me my fees.”. She then said, “Fine, I’ll refund your fees” and then hung up on me. Real professional. Is she refunding me from her own wallet?? So who knows if I will be refunded or if I’ll have to call them a fourth time for a refund. At this point it’s probably best to contact the better business bureau in Pennsylvania to report the company for this sketchy buisness practice.

Do not shop at Rue21 in Charleston WV. That store is a horrible mess all the time and the people that work there are disrespectful and extremely rude. They have no regards for the customers. When you walk in ..its like walking into a thrift store ..everything and everyone is so unorganized. They curse at the registers in front of customers. They throw clothes on the sales floors and sit in the middle of it all to fold them…not something people want to see when they come in to shop…brand new clothes lying on a dirty ass floor. .why would you expect me to buy any of it? ..dirty..stained..ripped…they have managers who have NO clue what the hell theyre doing..they also have regular employees using their manager numbers pretending to be managers when theyre not. Closing the store..dealing with paperwork and a manager..and is NOT one. They also have managers that have absolutely no clue whats going on in the world…letting money come up missing not documenting it..calling mall security on people they only THINK are stealing..i can sit on the bench in front of that store and just listen to people trash talk that store all day everyday..i also hear employees speaking on behind the scenes things going on in that store..which is how i know certain things…you all need to do something about these things because from what i hear a couple of employees are filing suit on Rue21 for discrimination..and for illegal doings inside the company against employees. There are managers that are drinking and hanging out outside of work with regular employees…you have employees getting high in your have disgusting cleaning habits least in that store…nothing is in the right place…and you all are losing product money employees and customers due to ALL of these things. CEO KEITH MCDONOUGH ..YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BOSS MAN!

I have called 3 times and each time that I call I am on hold for over 30 minutes. Keep getting told it will ship that week. I called last week was told it would be shipped this Monday. I called Monday to verify it would be shipped and I was told by a gentleman it would be shipped this week.I call today and was told that I should get it by next Friday. Then, I asked for a Supervisor and was told that they don’t talk to people. I understand if it is delayed but I keep getting the run around. I did recieve (1) Hoodie from the warehouse but I had to return it due to a big hole in the hood. They also sent me an email stating that (1) pair of underwear order has been cancelled due to being out of stock. But, the young lady I spoke to assured me that all of my others Items would be shipped to me no problem.
Could someone please respond to me and let me know what is going on with my order and why when I asked for a Supervisor I was told NO. Also, that they couldn’t contact the Warehouse to check on my status. This is getting really old. Horrible Customer Service. Also, No Supervisor to talk to they they don’t take phone calls and they do not have an answering machine to leave a message. What kind of company does this?

I’m furious with rue 21 right now. I place an order on 12-27-16. Didn’t receive order until two weeks later. One of the shirts I ordered online and was really excited about o received an email days later saying it wasn’t in stock. 😡. Then when my order finally came one item that I ordered was not in the package. I sent email to company. It stated I would hear from them in 48hrs. Four days later still no response. I called company on hold for 20 mins. Hung up then called back on break only to be told the item wasn’t in your box sorry but we can put money back in your account in 5-7 business days. Are you kidding me. I had to wait two weeks for package, no shirt, and now I have to wait to get money back. Horrible customer service. No coupons or store credit to order again. And the price of shipping do you think I’m gonna order anything else and risk this happening again. I think not. This makes me so mad. This is my favorite clothing store. I’ve never had this problem. I guess I better try getting clothes from forever 21.

This is the worst company I have ever delt with in my life.I sat on hold 3 times for more than 30 minuts. The first time I tried to change the size of an item and was told I couldn’t and to send it back once I received it since it was an online item only. The second time I just wanted to cancel the entire order and was told I cannot due to no communication with there warehouse. Completely unheard-of for a large corporation. They emailed me stating one of my items was out of stock so I called again to cancel and received the same exscuse (lack of communication with there warehouse). I’m still waiting for my order that I DONT WANT…to be shipped and it’s been over a week. What a waste of time… BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE DO NOT SHOP THERE.

i have never dealt with problems for online orders. you buy whats online pay and has been one big headache,i have 3 orders pending,i have emailed many times,called many times have waited over 30 mins and no live person,there is no customer service and the website is false advertising.the orders are not processed till a week later,if its on purpose so that it causes items to be out of stock,and then shipping parts need to notify customers before shipping only part of orders,i order and pay to get the full order together within the expected time,i am not ok with it taking more then a week to ship and only get some of it.i would have canceled them all.also i emailed about not sending item if its going to say it went out of stock i was assured item would be mail only to say days after it was out of stock,false advertising is against the law tricking people to think they are buying thinking they will get what they order. you need to make it clear that when you place order items are canceled and that the rest of the order will be sent without customers approval,and that orders will be processed and shipped after a week and shipping takes more then 10 that customers are aware before they buy. If all other companies are able to fullfill orders within the time said and have customer service i do not see why its a big mess here. very mad,frustrated and after my shipments get fixed i will not be shopping here

My daughter is a former employee and had purchased a few outfits from the store..which her sister had stolen and returned to the daughter that worked there informed everyone including managers. Everyone was on board about store policy meaning no cash back without a receipt. Well the sister came in after she clocked out and tried to return. The manager called Calli the district manager and told her that the sister was pregnant and on drugs and was only returning so she could go put a needle in her arm….pregnant…calli approved that she give the girl the money..and when she did..the. Sister walked out the door bought drugs….got high….at the mall…and when she pulled out of the mall…she wrecked into a salt truck…PREGNANT!!! …on top of that horrible situation. ..the one that worked there just tried to return boots that she paid for…only this time..its not someone else..theres no issue on the items being returned or stolen. ..and calli says no return without receipt. The manager Staci Carnes is a horrible manager…she calls mall security all the time when its rue policy that they just let people steal any and everything but a former employee cant even return her items. Im the mother of the two girls and i will be filing suit.

I have a issue that I am very irate about due to your company assure me my charge before getting off the phone 1/2/17 of $47.08 and on 1/3/17 your company charged me $67.62 without my authorization. I called your company to try and resolve the issue and the rep was so rude to help me and fix my account and put back my funds, so I ask for a supervisor and she advise there was no supervisor!! I threaten to contact Rue 21 corporate office, BBB, Consumer Affairs and my bank and then she gotten a supervisor!! I spoke to the supervisor and he advised that it wasnt nothing he would be able to do for me right now to call back tomorrow… so now I am contacting Rue 21 corp office to see how we can get this rectified with my money back to my account due to unauthorized charges??

Also due to the issues I have and constantly have to keep calling your company due to you guys errors and your bad customer service at your call centers, Rue 21 should offer customers some sort of credit or discount on their next order to continue their business with your company due to what Rue 21 do at the call centers, charging customers unauthorized without their approval for higher amounts then what was quoted and the call center don’t have good customer service skills/training.. this should be a priorty and due to it as well reps should be punish some way for this to stop! There is no way, you should allow this to happen because you will lose business, customer service should always be courteous, honest when it comes to customers! If you listen to my calls from 1/2/17 to 1/4/17 you will be ashamed of how Rue 21 operate!!

Hi, I’m currently an employee and I have been with the company for over a year already.
I asked my store manager why I wasn’t getting hours, I mean I sell fragrance.. but literally how am I supposed to seLloyd fragrance when I work 1 day, and my availability is week days 330-1030 and available on weekends.
I may not sell as much as the others but, it’s something!
I’ve asked for the hours but I continue to hear “there’s no more”, “not enough payroll”, yet all the same 3 people get all the hours, working 5 days or more a week and I work 1?
That’s equal? Before, when we had our old store manager, we had an assistant manager do the schedulesame, who evenly spread them out with the team, everyone worked around 20-25 hours a week.
That store manager isn’t with us and we have a new one, who has his favorites.
Everyone is upset, I’m just the one standing up for everyone
I had a talk with my coworkers “our store manager favors them that’s why”, and “he favors the Spanish speakers”
From what they said it seems true
Only 2 of the 3 are Spanish speakers, the other one is training to be manager, OK understandable.
This company has nothing but rude management also,
Getting picked on by my managers is not on my agenda when I go to work.
It’s not fair.
Anyway my main concern is my hours, I have seniority over all the others, because I’ve been there the longest.
Honestly , working here I’ve noticed this company isn’t fair.

Well I for one, don’t work as much as I used to , to even sell fragrance anymore, I rarely work with the new store manager do how is he supposed to seek my work ethis. I am a hard and dedicated worker, I ask for work even when I dintend have to, if that’s not dedicated I don’t know what is.
I’ve gotten so many compliments on my customer service from customers, people ask for me, me and snother manager were even talking about making me a part time manager.. but i cant because of school so theyre choosing someone else, it would suck to leave this company but what choice am I given?! I can’t make a living off of a 5 hour schedule.
I can’t pay my bills.
I doubt this would be read but, this is not an equal opportunity store.
I love all my contacts workers.
I’m not just sending this for me, but for all the associates at my store who only have one day of work, when, before this new store manager came we all worked together 5 or more days a week.

Rue 21 in Great Falls Montana stole 50 dollars from us. I bought a gift card for my daughter for Christmas and when she went to use it they said her balance was 0. They told told us the card was put on hold because someone tried to use it online and the next day we were told that they put the money back on it and soneone has used the monies again. Someone in their system must be hacking the cards because we haven’t been able to use it since i bought it. The worst part is that they’ve given us the run around for several days and we’ve spoken to 10 different people with mo help. This is an aweful way to run a business!!!!!!!

Purchased a $50 gift card for my niece and when she went to spend it of course there is a zero balance. The agent at the store she went, which was different than the one I bought it, contacted customer service and told them the situation. The company even admits by email that their employee gave me a wrong card. Even though the one I purchased was activated but no money added. The store clerk even said that was odd and would only happen if the money pocketed.
So even after admitting in writing the company still does not want to give me a refund. So my only conclusion is that Rue21 condoned stealing.

Horrible. Bought a $50 rue21 gift card at the Alexandria, va mall on 14nov. The card sat unused in the bottom of a closet until I presented it to my niece in Florida on 24dec. To my horror, my niece informed me the card had a $0 balance (but they charged my bank account on 14nov). My call to their customer service was routed to a call station in India and I was informed the card had indeed been used 10dec by an online shopper. I am highly pissed because the security covering over the pin on the card has NOT EVEN BEEN SCRATCHED OFF or tampered with. The gentleman on the phone says someone from “corporate” should be calling within 3 days, well it’s been 3 days since I called them and I’ve heard nothing. When I demanded to know where the online purchase was shipped he couldn’t tell me and I waited on perpetual hold calling yet a different number (another Indian call center) to find out where the fraudulent purchase was shipped. When I spoke with a 2nd gentleman who could supposedly provide the shipping address, he said he couldn’t release that information without “corporate” permission which would take 3 days. I’m at the point of disgust, I don’t want the gift card anymore, I just want my money back because I will NEVER shop at rue21 again. NEVER AGAIN!

Worst customer service … corruption …. dishonesty! I never complain but I ordered November 25 still no package, I called customer service they lied said it would ship next day .. never did.. called few days later … again they lied said someone would call me back or email me… no one ever did… called a 3rd time spoke to the manager who said management would call me in a few hours… NOONE ever did… called a 4th TIME – and the representative said my order was CANCELLED!!!?!?? No one contacted me no one apologized … 1 month ago I ordered and I got nothing .. I cant believe such a corporation is even open.. you should be reported to business bureau for lying and cheating your customers!

Wow, all of these e-mails and still nothing seems to be getting done to correct their customer service.

I ordered online on 12/9/16. It said clearly that due to an huge volume, the order would not ship for 14 days and they take 4-7 days for delivery. It’s not for Christmas, so that was not a problem and I placed my order.

I received an e-mail today saying the order was cancelled. It gave a reason of being out of stock. I looked online and all of the items are still showing as available, but now the 40% off sale price is not being given. I called customer service who told me that all orders from 12/8 and 12/9 were cancelled because the warehouse was very overwhelmed, but I could go in and order them now because they were now caught up. When I asked if I would be given the sale price from my original order, they said I would have to order with the price now and then I could call them and they would refund me the difference. This is all by phone so I have no guarantee that this would be done.

This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. You cancelled the order but to make it right, I have to take my time to redo things and then more time to get the sale price.

Needless to say, I will not be making another online or store purchase from your company. There are too many retail businesses out there to waste my time on one that does not value their customers.

rashaliahall at I placed a order on 11/27/16 and at this point I have yet to received my items that are for Christmas I thought by shipping to the store would be easier no online shows partially shipped but didn’t tell what had been shipped 😡😡then when I call customer service it’s as if you all have a script that your reading saying oh allow 10-14 days then additional 4-7 days so pretty much that will let me know if the item that wasn’t shipped is available really it takes 3 weeks to know whether u have the item in stock at this point when I receive my items this will be the LAST time I order from here and will definitely spread the word not to order online from you all.

I bought some things on black friday and still have no received any of my order! They made a packing label for it on 12/5 but ive been told it is still in their warehouse! Why is the product i ordered and have already paid for sitting at your warehouse still? Everytime i call i keep hearing the same thing that i can get a refund after 10 days from when the shipping label was made if i havent received it or its not in transit. I undestand that it gets busy on black friday but this is just plain stupid! I will never ever buy anything from rue 21 online again ever!! I will also tell eveyone i know not to order anything for them also. Its been the worst experience ever with any place!!!

I got partial of my order and I’m still waiting for my other order THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE WITH THIS ORDER. Never got an email letting me know why I have to wait for that order to be shipped. It’s been over 14 days (IT STATED ON YOUR SHIPPING INFORMATIONS THAT PLEASE ALLOW 10 TO 14 DAYS TO HAVE YOUR SHIPPING PROCESS) it’s been over 14 days and I’m still waiting. Now on the website it says there will be a delay that it maybe after the holiday that you will get your package? I’m very upset with this. Yes I order it during black friday. Yes I understand it’s a very busy time that everyone is buying supplies for christmas etc. But what I don’t understand is before I order I made sure that all my items was avaliable before I bought them so that I will have them before christmas and now it’s showing it’s unavaliable. Not even a notice letting me know what’s going on with my package. I can call and be told due to the high inquiries I have to wait a few more days for my package to arrive or better yet ruin a christmas present and be told it’ll be after christmas when I get my package? Last year when I order from the website it was never this bad. I got my order on time no wait or Hassel like this. I’m very upset! Also I have to pay an extra shipping and handling fee because they shipped my orders separately so I’m paying more than I should and agreed on?! If I knew it was going to be like this I would have never order from the website, but since the website (advertise falsely) about the shipping I thought hey I don’t mind the wait I’ll get my order on time before christmas. Now I’m more pissed off than ever. I can’t believe this year rue 21 actually going to mess up almost everyone’s christmas present. Definitely next year I’m not going to order from the website ever again. I don’t care about the deals. I care more about having my package arriving as it stated!

I purchased several must have items for my daughter for Christmas during your Black Friday sales at amazing prices. I finally received my order on Dec. 5th and opened the package and two of my items were missing. I called your contact number and waited for almost an hour listening to Christmas music. Finally someone answers and tells me he doesn’t know why items were not included. Refunded me back the sale price. By that time all stores were closed and I wanted to use my coupons and got online and it said it would be 14 days till shipped and then another 4 to 7 days for arrival. To close for comfort. So I went into our store in Cambridge, Ohio and thought I would suck it up and pay full price for the two items and no coupon. The manager there Andrea over heard me talking to my husband how upset I was about it. She honored my expired coupon and allowed me to get the items I had already previously purchased that they had forgotten to include in my shipment. I still paid more for the perfume, but she also gave me a VIP card for 20% off my next visit. Thanks to a great employee like Andrea, you haven’t lost a very good customer. She was amazing and made my day. Thank you Andrea for helping me pick out more perfumes to purchase and for being such a pleasure to do business with. Merry Christmas!

I have been working at the Rue in Kingsport, TN for over a year now. I am on my third store manager now. I love working for Rue and I would love to move up into management. I’ve had opening after opening come open.. but my new store manager has been finding every way possible not allow me to be put into an assistant management position. Her first excuse was that she couldn’t work with my availability so I was okay with that. But then, she also had hired 2 people with a very similar availability. She chose to put 1 in our full-time management position because of our full-time going on maternity leave. The other associate she gave a temporary key holder position. I have talked to all of my managers about moving up and all are in agreement that I deserve to be promoted. Both of the associates that have been promoted have the same limited scheduling that I have, and they have been there for less than 3 months. I believe both of these associates are capable of the position, but I’m still not completely sure why my store manager will not promote me. I had to pick up a second job because I have not been being paid enough. But there has also been some VERY sketchy activity with her..
There was 1 night that we had all of our closing shifts call in, and I was just getting off of my second job and rushed to come and help my store manager close. We also had another manager come in and help us finish up recovering and do a promo change. This was Wednesday before Thanksgiving so there was a lot to be done. We had a store meeting the Sunday before, and we all agreed to bring a few dollars in to get a sandwich tray for our lunches. She had also failed to hire our seasonal help soon enough to help us during our Black Friday sale. Anyways, as we closed down registers and took them to the back, nobody had brought the money in that they agreed to. There was $10 in the safe with a note on it where a customer had been shorted change months ago. That customer had never came back to get it. I have the note as proof, but my store manager took the $10 and said it was to pay for our food. I know that we are not EVER supposed to touch the money in the safe, no matter how long it has been there, it should’ve been put into the deposit months ago. That is also not the only other thing I’ve seen while she’s been at my store.
She has also not been clocking out for her breaks. Me and all of our associates and management have been watching because we’ve noticed these behaviors. I have a total of 4 managers including my store manager. 3 of the 4 are pregnant. She has also not been allowing them to take breaks or not scheduling another manager for them to be able to take a break. She is always late. On Black Friday, she was 2 hours late without any call or text. Our temporary key holder opened for the first time that morning and she was supposed to be there to assist her and was not there. Our busiest day of the year, and she shows up late. She also has been calling out more than she should and she already only work 3 days a week.
She has had our pregnant managers on ladders doing floor sets that she chose not to schedule herself for. I am 1 of the associates that ALWAYS does floorsets and I have tried my hardest to make sure they don’t hurt themselves. My full-time manager had an incident about 3 weeks ago that our store manager only scheduled 2 people to close that Saturday (which happened to be a $5000 Saturday) and she is 8 months pregnant, she had dropped a hook while helping a customer on the top of her stomach. There was no reason why only 2 people should’ve been closing that Saturday. Also, after she had filed workmans comp, there was mail delivered to the store with her forms for her to have her doctor fill out and before she knew it was there, it was opened. There is much more I believe. I just need to know who I need to contact and where I get the number? Any help?

I’ve been working for Rue 21-Rock Hill location since mid-September. As of today, I am no longer an employee due to the mental abuse from the Store Manager-Justin Fowler. There have been multiple occasions that I have been told by other employees as well as managers that he was bad-mouthing me…calling me lazy etc. Today, I was in the back room processing shipment. For the last few weeks we have been extremely behind due to the holidays and receiving double shippment. Now, I was scheduled to work 9am to 4pm and when I got to the store…the back room was trashed as usual from the day before. I cleaned the area and removed the trash so I could have space to work. I started processing around 9:30 and by 9:45 my Store Manager was threatening to send me home because I hadn’t processed enough shipment in the 15 minutes I had been doing it. He never said a word to me just used the other employees to relay the message. I continued to process as much as possible by 3 o’clock I had done 30 boxes total (big and small) and was told I had to do ALL by the end of my shift which would have totaled to be at least 50+, it’s so unorganized you can’t even get an accurate count . I politely told him there was no way I could finish in the just an hour. He then said that I had failed to meet expection of the store and pursued to contact the assistant manager that was on duty. Stating that I always call out, I can never finish shipment. Just basically belittling me. Mind you, he was also doing processing as well with me and just through it all on the floor still in bags, just trashed it and never even finished his product (I have pictires of the back room). But pursued to tell me I failed to do enough!!!! He also said I should have been terminated a long time ago…that I call I it too much, which when or if I had too I always brought a doctors note because it concerned one of my children. I became upset and confronted him and eventually decided just to quit. Afterwards he was saying that I am sad person, I act like a child etc. This workplace is awful and half of the employees have quit just in my 3 months of being there and the remaining have plans too after the holidays because of him. He completely mistreats and disrespect his staff. He is constantly belittling the customers when given the chance. He has lied to the district manager on multiple occasions and is just a horrible manager all together. I hope Rue 21 will look into this further and change the dynamic of that store for the better of their company!

Placed an order online on October 25, 2016 the order is still processing and its been almost a week.Talked to a rep on the phone, who was of no help.

He said it takes up to 10 days for the order to process even though the website states that it only takes 1-2 days to process the order and then 4-7 days for the item to arrive. He said I would have to pay for the expedited shipping, but that it won’t even ship until the Oct 31st or Nov 2nd.

Even though my item hasn’t shipped and won’t be here the day I need it by they wont speed up the shipping, or cancel the order.I ordered this early so it would be here by the time I needed, so I dont feel as though its my fault that the items aren’t going to be here on time.

I work at the store in lynnhaven mall in Virginia beach as a sales associate, I’ve been there for a while now. I can honestly say this is the worst job I have ever had in my life. The managers are okay, but its the STORE MANAGER that is horrible. Today while I was working, a store manager came in from a different store because my actual store manager wasn’t there (like always). Her name is Quiala. She’s from the store in Norfolk Virginia. SHE CAME IN and yelled to talk to my manager that was working. CUSTOMERS were all whispering and had great fear that something was going to happen. 7 of them asked me to call mall security. as I walked over to ask my manager to help me with the register, Quiala yells at me and says “TAKE YOUR A** BACK TO THE FRONT AND DO YOUR JOB!” at that moment I was confused because I didn’t know who she was. Then she said ” What is your name. I told her with a smile on my face because you’re always suppose to keep a smile on your face no matter what working with someone. She started rolling her neck and yelling at me in front of everyone. She was mad that I was still smiling and I guess because I didnt yell back at her and she said “YOU GOT A NONCHALANT ATTITUDE. I DONT LIKE YOUR F-ING ATTITUDE!” now keep in mind, I never met this lady in my life yhe whole time I had been working there. customers were going crazy, a lot of them left. I felt at one point that she was going to put her hands on me in a violent way and I’m with child. Something should and needs to be done. 1. it wasn’t her workplace 2. you should NEVER disrespect nor cuss at an employee 3. you should not approach nor cause attraction to yourself in such a way that customers are afraid and want you to call mall security 4. you should talk to your employee in a personal space. I should not have had to feel like I had to defend myself in a violent and physical way.

Not sure that this complaint will do anything considering up to this point to one person from Rue 21 has been able to help me. I placed an online order on 9/22/2016. Upon checkout I paid and it indicated that I would receive the items within 4-7 business days. Here it is now 6 days out and the items have not even be shipped. My order does not even have a tracking number. I ordered these outfits that my kids and I are having done, that is why they are matching. I have my photographer and my appointment is confirmed, it can not be canceled. I sent an email and I received a response stating they have changed there shipping process, therefore there is a delay with all orders going out and they HOPE to ship it out within 1-2 days. THIS IS NOT OK, that should have been disclosed before I placed my order. I called and waited on hold over 25 minutes before hanging up. I called again the next day and after being put on hold for 45 minutes spoke to a RUDE girl who barely spoke English! She was NO help and old e what the email had already stated. I asked to speak to a manager. She said one was not available and she was going to disconnect the call. I told her don’t dare hang up on me and she said that is fine I will put you on hold again for 30 min. She did just that, I waited for 50min! Then Carmen came on the line, at this point I am livid! She told me there is nothing she can do to speed my delivery up. She will give me a 20% discount. I ask just to cancel my order so my funds are free to go buy outfits, she said that is not possible! Are you kidding me???? I just want my order shipped over night so we can have pictures done!!!!

This has also happened to me. I placed a order on 9-22-2016. I have not received my order. I called and emailed no response to my emails. On hold for 30 to 45 minutes . They are rude not helpful in anyway . Finally after several attempts they told me 2 more weeks they are way behind on mailing orders out. To bad I could of been a great customer but they don’t seem to care. They have a lot of specials they are not telling people when they order it will be a long wait. They sure take your money fast. I just want what I paid for. The guy said 50 percent off for waiting then when I said ok. He said no 15 percent off . I said you just said 50 percent . Ended giving me 20 percent off. Again I just want what I paid for.

amanda nunes from store atwater rue consistently steals from the work deposit. idk how many times that deposit itself has been late nd thy dont even realize it yet. she constantly uses her works deposit fir bills, rent and etc as a loan the uses the next day deposit to fill fir uesterday its all in the numbers they should just check it and see when it hapoens and really monitor like its no joke i thought it was funny at first when i sww for my self but ovr the time ijust really got irritated and just wanted to say sum thing but i dont got no say soi dont work fir that company and im glad to say i dont cuz if i did boy would i be upset. look a her bank account the the store bank account during october2015-march2016 and you can see that she was depositin so much money when she wasnt getting paid on those days and how does she get so much money deposited in her bank account with out having mire than one job mmmm funny i have more info if your wondering so

THe manager, Lisa at the store in roanoke rapids nc is a joke.;.she is a 40 something (same age as myself) acting like she is a teenager with all her drama in store and out of store..I will not shop there anymore due to the fact she has a nasty mouth and talks her crap inside the store and out and she only hires teens she knows to keep the scope on people outside the store. She feeds on drama, that is so unprofessional. She even goes to others job to start her crap to get that person fired or in trouble, How would she feel if someone came in to her store an acted like that about one of her employees (the ones she thinks she their mama)..She is rude and unprofessional, I will never shop in that location again!!!! I will drive to another location as long as that B**ch is not there!!

On July 31, 2016. I did online purchasing at RUE21 website. I did not get a confirmation that the billing goes through, hence I did not get an order number. The transaction online was decline 3 times due to international IP address, so I call my bank on August 1, 2016 to find out if there was a problem with my visa card. The bank told me that the transaction went through three times. First transaction 9:45 pm for $ 66.75, 9:49 pm for $ 66.75 and 9:53 pm for $ 66.75. Total amount is $ 200.25.
Based on this discrepancy I would like to cancel all transaction and to ask rue21 refund me the money. If you want my card number for clarification please email me at the above email or call me at 1876-353-XXXX. Thank you.

I wish I read these comments before giving Rue 21 yet another opportunity for my business. To begin, Last year sometime I was supposed to receive a refund for the discount they shorted me on one of my purchases which was never received after 6-7 phone calls with their VERY RUDE telephone agents. Now today with the VERY RUDE telephone agents, I informed them I had placed an order back on 7/7/16 and Rue had cancelled the order on 7/8/16 and I used two separate gift cards totaling $75.00 and when I call to hear the balances they both state $0.00, meanwhile I have received ZERO merchandise and ZERO correspondence from them about getting my money back. If nothing is solved, I will be out there for something much larger than what this is and Rue will NEVER have my business again.

Every time someone says “I have to send this to another dept. someone will contact you in 3 days” I have never had anyone contact me via phone or email. One time a lady even gave me a bogus # to call, then when I called CS back they told me the lady just went home sick. I have never been so aggravated with any CS before. They have lost mine and my 4 teenage girls business for ever!

I have just finishing submitting a complaint about the horrific and frustrating experience that I encountered at Walmart (store #1578) on Mansell Rd., Roswell, Ga. and I would like to know if any of these complaints are being read by the Corporate Office Executives.

The store that I visited on 7/14/16 did not have any Associates, and when I asked for the Store Manager I was informed that they did not have one, and the two Assistant Managers were not there. Then, I was given over to the Associate Manager who was beleaguered and overwhelmed about the lack of adequate staff. This store will obviously lose customers and revenue. Tell people that you know not to patronize the stores that you are complaining about.

I made a purchase online using a coupon code, when I finished with the order, the total was $86.91, I authorized them to charge my credit card this amount; however, the next morning when I checked the order, Rue21 charged my card $131.72. I also changed the shipping address for the order to be sent. I called and the customer service reps that I spoke with offered NO assistance, and were extremely rude, so I asked for a manager. I spoke with Kathryn, who was also of NO assistance. I asked if she could change the amount, she said that was above her, and she could not do that, so I asked if she could cancel the order so It could be placed again with the correct amount–she could not do this either. Since she was of no assistance, I asked to speak with her supervisor, whom she said was Moynette, and she stated she was not in, but I could reach her tomorrow–so in the interim I am stuck with being charged almost an additional $50 for items that are being shipped to the wrong address. I asked Kathryn what does Rue21 do for customers that have been inconvenienced in such a manner, because if you want that customer’s business in the future, surely you would offer some type of additional discount– again, from Kathryn, there is nothing she is authorized to do. She informed me she would send messages “up the system,” letting others know this situation, which does absolutely nothing for me! According to Kathryn she has never encountered a situation like this before. Basically she blew smoke up my a**! DO NOT SHOP AT RUE21! They are extremely deceitful, and do NOT have ANY type of ethics whatsoever! Don’t waste your money, because their clothing is of CHEAP quality anyway!!!!!

Hello, I would like to comment about a manager that I would with. I work at the Lakewood, WA store in the Towne Center. The manager I would like to make a complaint about is named Mckenzie. She makes me feel uncomfortable. I love my job and people I work with but when I work with her she makes me do everything. She just stands around and orders me to do things. She eats and drinks on the sales floor when we aren’t supposed to. When we close at night she doesn’t make sure the store is clean. She also insists on me watching her count instead of having me count which is the way I was taught. It makes me feel very uncomfortable. I’m afraid I will get in trouble because of her actions. I don’t know what to do. I have talked to my other managers but I don’t feel like much is being done about it and it’s making me want to leave.

I am livid!! I was at the Nashville West store on 5/26 and made a purchase of $115.75. THEIR systems was messing up so I was asked to run the card multiple times! I should have refused but there was a line behind me and I didn’t have cash to pay for it. The cashier told me she would keep my things and I could go get cash. I checked my bank when I left and seen I was charged 2x for the purchase. I have been getting the run around every since. I think your costumer service is a joke! You cannot tell me you can’t find $115.75 purchase. I was a very loyal customer before that day! I will not be back to any Rue 21 and I will discourage anyone I talk to not to shop at Rue 21 as well!

I went to the store in tuscola Illinois and an associate introduced herself as Gracie. But when doing so she sounded like she hated her job and didn’t want me in there. I ignored and shopped, getting 2 dresses off of the rack that said “BOGO buy one get one $7” when I said I got it off that rack, because it didn’t ring up right, she rolled her eyes and got an attitude. Her manager did change it but her attitude didn’t stop as she pushed my bag at me and walked away after the purchase. I WILL NIT BE RETURNING TO THIS STORE!!

Hello i just want to start off by saying that i am very upset and will never be coming back to your stores. I visited your Bay city Texas location with my daughter first of all the lady that come up to me Mary, tried to sell me a fragrance. I have horrible allergies so i usually politely refuse but as she walked up to me she sprayed me! and said “that’s one of their best sellers” I tried not to be rude as i was overwhelmed by the fragrance and said oh my god no thank you. She rolled her eyes then walked away. Then as i’m shopping i hear my daughter asking her for the prices on some clearance items that did not have tags so she said “where you found them, look at the sign and that’s the price” then continued what she was doing. I made my daughter put the items down and left i refuse to be treated rudely let alone my daughter. we will not be coming back.

I went into the store Rue21 in Adams Dairy Landing , in BlueSprings,Mo to return a clothing item I bought online and paid PayPal with it. I came across a unprofessional and rude manager named ‘ Kenzie ‘ She told me that since I bought my item online and payed with PayPal she could not do anything about it and that I had to call customer service so they could send me a label that I could ship my item back. But, clearly the paper receipt says that if you pay with PayPal you can get ‘ merchandise credit ‘ . But the manager Kenzie decided to act unpolite about the whole situation so I had to drive home from the store which is 30 minutes from my house and call customer service about this whole situation! Unacceptable.

Oh, and you shouldn’t be a manager if you don’t do your job the right way, and have bad customer service skills!

Hi i want to make a statement about the store i work in. i work at the Rosenberg Texas location i have been having a hard time with this because i have become friends with some of these people but i also don’t want to lose my job on or get in trouble with the police. i have been working here for a while now and have seen a lot but dint want to get people in trouble but i feel its getting out of hand and someone needs to know. I witnessed a manager that used to work here Named Trey Wiley and an associate that currently works here named Eblyn Pineda take 1 or 2 of large bags full of merhandise each on multiple occations, they would tell me to take what i wanted but i told them no thank you. they would tell me “well now you cant say anything of youll be fired too” i also saw Eblyn being taugh by Trey how to distract a customer so they forget their receipt then ring up a return and pocket the cash , if you look back at their return trasanctions they would put “speak no english” or “no english” on the return info so corporate wouldnt call. she still does these trasanctions by watching managers codes. also one of our other recent managers named Victoria and another associate would ring employee trasactions then use coupons on them to make them cheaper I watched my store manager ring a return for a item they used a coupon on and she dint even mention it to them i really dont want to get any of them in trouble specially my store manager because beacause i am friends with her son but i dont want to lose my job or go to jail my parents advised me this is the best thing to do. i wish to remain anonymous please.

This is in regards to Rue21 located at the outlet mall in Monroe Ohio. The managemanager I believe her name is Christina- short with long blonde hair. I shop there at least 2 times a week if not more – however she ALWAYS has a mean facial expression she nnever smsmiles she is avERY rude to customers and the employees. I overheard her telling a associate ” um u need to get on the register now”. She is jjust a rrue individual and if she didn’t want to be in customecustomer service she shouldn’thave taken the job. I have seen alot of managers come and go at this location and she is by far the worst I have encountered. She is just very rude to customers and the associates for no reason. I have been in customer service for 20+ years and this is not how u act. Send a secret shopper there and you will see. It’s like she rude because she feels like she can be. I really hope this is addressed with her.

Do not shop at Rue 21 in Erie Pa. Every time I go in there, the associates seem to be clueless. Every time I go to the register to check out there is an issue. But this time the associate has to call their store manager, from the store phone, asking her to come back into the store because she needs help. WHY IS THE STORE MANAGER LEAVING THEIR CLUELESS ASSOCIATE IN THE STORE?!? After having to wait several minutes for her to come back, the associate figured it out just as the manager came back. The manager realized she wasn’t needed, AND LEFT AGAIN. I felt for the associate, but I WILL NEVER SHOP THEIR AGAIN.

I work at the Rue 21. I love being a sales associate and cashier, but my manager makes the job hard to keep loving by causing a lot of issues in the workplace. She bases the amount of hours you get off how much you please her and do for her personally. There was an instance where she wanted me to go drive and get her lunch. Even though I would still be on the clock, driving to a city I don’t know and using my last quarter of gas didn’t seem worth minimum wage to me, so I said no. She wasn’t pleased with my response and then threatened to give somebody else more hours than me since they are always open to getting her food. I replied that getting her food and driving to an unknown town for her was not in my job description, and she proceeded to treat me poorly for weeks following. She cut my shifts down and started giving someone else more hours because they would always (still do) get her food at her request. Her work ethic is unprofessional seeing as instead of basing the schedules off of the way we work and assist customers, she bases it off who she wants around to go run errands for her. I have been dealing with this for months, and can no longer feel like I am in such an unprofessional workplace. I love being an associate and don’t think this is worth leaving for, but I do think it is worth complaining for and getting resolved for future employees here and for a better experience for our customers.

I was shopping at the Rue 21 in Cornelia GA a couple weeks ago when I overheard the manager (blonde one) say to an employee (who I personally think works more than other girls who just hide behind racks and play on their phones) “You’re useless honestly”. I was very appalled that she would say this to a young girl and in front of a customer. Within this same hour the blonde manager checked me out and was extremely rude when I asked about an email I had received from Rue 21 about some discounts. I am a regular customer to this store as it is the only one near the area and time and time again I am disappointed to see all the girls standing around (even hiding sometimes) playing on their phones. The managers too. The managers attitude apparently rubs off on the younger girls because this brown headed girl (don’t know her name) is always rude. She doesn’t even bother to look up from her phone when a customer ask her a question or for a fitting room. All the workers are snooty (well most) and don’t want to give you the time of day. I will no longer be a regular customer of this Rue 21 or any after reading all the other complaints. Rue 21 has a national problem with hiring apparently.

I had a terrible experience with the manager at your store in Bay City, MI, on February 6 at about 8 pm. As I was paying for my items, I asked the cashier/ manager how much was one of the shirts I was buying. She said it was at 40% and not 50% as I thought because people move things around. So, i said, I don’t think there is any 40% sign anywhere in this store. So , she checked and found out it was 30% and asked if I still wanted it. She asked this twice and in a condescending way, instead of being apologetic or claiming she was wrong. Then she went on accusing of being the one that the store (through the alarm ) was caught with an unpaid coat with the tag still on. She said this openly infront of other customers and a younger person who seemed to be new at the job. I was furious since there is no truth to that at all. The prompted me to raise my voice and told her she better rectify herself and her statements. I called the mall security guard on duty and made sure she logged the situation as an incident report. This is NOT acceptable. I would like to see an action done on this incident. The security officer actually concurred that this was not the first time that this happened. Again, I would like to see an appropriate action on this situation.

At the store in the Millcreek Mall in Erie, PA, the manager, Kayla, constantly shows up for work very visibly high. Today she accused an employee of stealing batteries, in front of other employees and customers, amd she did it more than once to where customers were watching the employee! She is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to her staff and should not be the face of your store. Because of her actions today my family will NOT be shopping at your stores in the future.

I have been working for Rue 21 since Nov. 2015. I have not received a paycheck for the hours I worked from Dec 21 thru the first of Jan 2016. They also aren’t putting me in the schedule because they haven’t paid me
So you haven’t paid me and I’m not making no money. Your store manager and district manager can’t seem to get the paperwork correct. Or they don’t want to. It’s not right that you guys aren’t paying your employees. I did the work now cut my check, it’s been well over a month.

I am a parent of a kid who works for Rue 21. I have a great concern about the District manager, for the store in St. Charles Mall in Waldorf Md, ordering his managers to write all employees up that call off work during a state of emergency that was declared in the state of Maryland . In defense of all employees at this location your choosing the store over safety. For this type of directive to be given, that I’m sure is not in your code of conduct, clearly sets you up for consequences . The roads were unsafe and shut down with numerous accidents and all county activities closed. Is this or was this action a policy in all your stores or just in the Waldorf area?
I’m requesting at this point you retract this actions and any write ups that have occured or may occur.
Looking forward to hearing from you about this matter.

So I made a purchase and spent a good amount of money online, but made a mistake on my apt#, I tried calling back to change it because apparently you only have 30min, I didn’t see this information when I was ordering my stuff. I only seen it when I got the conformation email. BUT I did call back right away and no one answered it just kept ringing, I even tried talking with UPS and they cant do anything about it because the shipper ( RUE 21 !!! ) has to make the changes and then create another label, and they wont do it. THEY need to change there process people need to be able to cancel and make changes to there address.

I had the same issue here and was told that i would receive a refund. To this day I am still waiting for my refund. Now I had a package delivered to my apartment and it was sent back in error by the apartment staff and now Rue21 will not resend the package. How crazy is that? They said they will refund my money. Now that’s BS because I’m still waiting on my refund from the first purchase. I’m writing the Corporate office, emailing, faxing and mailing a certified letter to the PRESIDENT/VP or all top officers of that company this is some BS!!!

My friend and I where recently at the store located at 5885 Gulf Fwy, Ste 630, Texas City, 77590 Tx on November 24, 2015 and where aproched by a older lady who treated use vary poorly and was claiming to be the manager by the name of Joné who had tattoos all over her neck and was vary unprofessional. To be honest we didnt even think she worked there. She looked like she just walked out of a trailer park! We arrived at the store 10 minutes before the store closed knowing exactly what we were going to get (shoes) we just needed to try the shoes on to see if they where comfortable and she rudely kept telling us that we needed to hurry and get what we wanted and leave the store because the store was closing soon after only being there for only 3 min, I understand that the store has rules and regulations but my friend and I where paying customers and should not have been treated in that manor. Ms. Joné has no customer service skills and my friend and I choose to leave the store and not spend our money on anything after that encounter 5 minutes before the store closed. I will no longer be a customer of Rue 21 because there is poor management and customer service.

You sound like youre a good manager. I live in altoona, pa and the manager and associates are unprofessional. My daughter had an interview and the girl that did the interview really liked her. She told her to call if she didn’t hear from her “BOSS” within 5 days. My daughter called and she had it on speaker. The girl’s name was Olivia and she told her that the manager would be making calls this week. Then she said to hold on and WE heard her whisper but not to well “I don’t like her”. The girl got back on the phone and said she will be making calls. My daughter told her she heard what she said and and it hurt her feelings because she doesn’t even know her.

On the day of November 8,2015. I was in the store Rue 21 on E.Main Street in Uvalde Tx. I shop there a lot because they have low prices on nice clothing,I buy my children clothing as well as mine there. My complaint is that every time I go to the store to shop there’s these two particular women who work there ,they always give me a problem . If the price says one price there trying to sell it to me for a way higher price and when I explain to them that the sign says differently they don’t care to take time to go make sure the clothing or item is the correct price ,but instead wants to charge me whatever they want. This one incident that happened on the date I stating above really took the cake,I’m thinking to myself now that I see everytime I go to purchase in the store if it’s the same two women it’s going to be a problem. If they don’t like there job why are they there. Ive had several incidents with these ladies .One of them is a younger lady who appears to be at least 24 and the other lady her name is Evon ,that’s the name I heard them call her in the store .Like always I’m in the store and was fix to purchase clothing and the same two ladies are still arguing with me about the price of the clothing ,and it was a older women in the store told the both of them that the items I had was the price I stated why don’t they just go look ,instead of making an argument of it. They wouldn’t once again. I went over to another lady that works in the store and I said excuse me maam if the sale on an item says one price and it says it’s an additional 30 % off price marked wouldn’t you mark it down by 30% ,the sales lady replied yes and told me to come up to the counter ,so she sold me the item for the sale it was suppose to be. My only complaint in the two ladies who’s doing sales arguing with me every time I go shop in the store ,it’s like there waiting to start a problem instead of if they don’t know the price go check the price. Then they have a new guy working in the store ,I no he’s new cause I go to that store frequently, at least 4 times out the week. I gave school age children. They told him to go get cloying similar to the clothing I had ,he comes back with clothing that was far from similar to the clothing I had. I was like look you guys you two ladies every time I come in the store it’s a problem with you two and I’m going to report you guys okay. No one wants to have unpleasant shopping experiences every time they encounter the store. I’m sure the store supervisors or corporate wouldn’t agree to you guys reaction to customers spending there money I’m there store ,especially often as I do. I really like shopping in Rue 21 and you guys have great reasonable prices ,but with sales persons as Evon and the younger lady ,I didn’t ask her name because she has such an unpleasant attitude. I had to let you know what kind of individuals you have working for you and giving you fair earning that not only I but other customers are going to ran off because the unpleasant visits with those two ladies and they don’t want to find there job. Prior to the incident there was another incident where the young lady tried to over charge and charge me what she wants to charge me, and I asked to speak to the manager and she got Evon the sane lady who has the nasty attitude as herself. Im not even sure if Evon is the manager or not. I sure hope not I’ve never encountered a manager with such a nasty attitude if so. I’m saying I don’t believe she’s a manager also because if she’s the manager the older lady that worked in sales and came and took over my purchase and gave the items to me at the price it was suppose to me. No manager is gonna not make the situation right,but sits and argues with the paying customer ,and one who constantly shops there store. I’m starting to feel uncomfortable shopping there if I have to deal with those two ladies. Then Evon had the nerves to ask the younger sales lady ,her partner in making bad choices to customers was she alright. If she’s manager and if she likes her job she needs to get on the right track and instead of asking the younger lady was she alright ,she should have been making things right with me ,I’m the customer. Thank you so much for hearing me out and be blesssed. I hope this letter finds its hand in the rightful business parties in charge so those two ladies can be reviewed . Very unhappy with the honesty and thievery of the employees at the Hesperia Rue 21. I set my phone on the counter to help the employee check my things out as she was obviously struggling to do so with all the chatter of her and another employee discussing degatively about whomever they were speaking of. After 20 minutes of checking out I grabbed my things and headed out, leaving my phone on the counter. I walked to my car which was the third car in front of store. I loaded my one bag in the car and realized I didn’t have phone which I needed cause I have my 4 kids with me and live 3 hours away. I was just coming through after their youth football game. I ran back in was gone ten minutes and surprise it was gone. I asked the employee she knew nothing about it and nobody turned it in. I searched for additional hour and a half with NO help from employees just customers. I requested the video and was refused. When the manager came out to assist me she wasn’t even aware of what employees were even on shift. There was 2 other customers in there the same time I was and they stayed till I left. The phone has not been found buy it does show me on find my iPhone to be there in the store, which means YOU HAVE UNLOYAL EMPLOYEES AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will NEVER return and will spread this information.

Rue21 was my first job I have ever had. I started when I was a junior in high school, June of 2013. I was promoted 5 months into my title of a sales associate, working 20-30 hours a week. I became a part-time assistant manager and I worked 40 hours a week without any benefits. The head store manager would never close or work weekends. She would come in at 6am in the mornings and leave at 3pm every day she worked. She has lied about time cards and signed off for employees travel hours. She has deleted and changed times of which I, and the other two managers, have worked. I left to go to school at Oregon State University September of 2014. I came back due to lack of financial support and returned to the Vancouver, Wa rue21 at the end of December. I was then promoted to a Full Time Assistant Manager. I worked 7 months up until July when I put in my two weeks to work at the job I am working now. During this time being back my general manager was leaving early, putting the bulk work on her staff and never spending time on the floor to better her employees. I did her work for her at 19 years old. She is still never closing, not helping her team, giving unreasonable expectations, and never working weekends. She is a huge reason I left. I also was told I wouldn’t be paid out my vacation because I used two of my sick days I had left to use, which I had another manager cover the two shifts for me. I have been contacting the state of Washington job corp to get a claim processed. I have been trying to contact rue21 to ask the corporate office what does an employee do to be classified as “not finishing out the two week period”. I never got an exit interview as well to let the company know about the wrong that’s going on in the workplace. No one listens. I will never return or shop at a rue21 ever again.

I honestly hope that corporate reads this. The Paintsville KY store honestly sucks. Who honestly is going to schedule there employees 3 hrs a day and only 6 hrs a week???? Really? Which states in paper work with rue 21 that they are to be schedule between 15-20 hrs a week. Plus Labor law states that you cannot schedule an employee under 4 hrs day…… Hmmm didn’t think the employees was going to check on that….. Hopefully something will be done…..

How do you survive?
My daughter was so excited as was I to finally enter the workforce after several interviews at your Meadows Mall location. Personally, I have held a job since I was 14, been in management for the past 25 years, and tried to bring both of my daughters up with the same work ethic as my parents did with me.
It has been heartbreaking for me to watch as week after week, month after month she has had to endure being left in limbo and constantly ignored by the staff at this store. It was almost 2 months to the day until she was able to finally get trained by way of two days of 4 hour shifts. This would have been perfectly acceptable if she was informed that this was how it worked as opposed to informing her they would have her on the schedule next week, every single time she tried to contact the location. It’s sad to say that the few times she has been able to reach a manager at the location they have promised to call her back without ever following up.
I am pleased that she has finally wised up and decided to look elsewhere for a job and has no intention of referencing this job that gave her literally no experience whatsoever and the end result is lesson learned that the world, and employers at Rue21, can be very cruel.
I certainly hope this is not how you treat all employees at Rue21 as she has wasted her summer going into her senior year unable to save up any funds for anything. I actually believe she has spent more in fuel for her car going back and forth than she actually made working for you.
Though there may not be anything illegal about this treatment (still have some HR professionals looking at it) it is certainly unethical by the lowest of standards.
If you have the opportunity, please review the management at this location and be sure this is how you want your stores to operate.

Hopefully corporate reads this.. I am currently an employee at rue21 in Myrtle Beach. First, the store manager is very bad at her job. This needs attention immediately! Either she needs to be talked to or fired! Second, why in the hell are you guys so focused on fragrance? Like seriously. You’re store is known for clothing. Not fragrance. And us employee’s shouldn’t be shoving the fragrance in customer’s faces to try and sell them! If they want the fragrance or they already know about it, then they will get it themselves. Also basing sales associates hours off of how many fragrances the store sells is bullshit. How do you expect us to pay bills or make a living from little hours?? Y’all need to have a meeting and forget about this fragrance. Or working for rue is suppose to be fun, right? Well maybe have a contest to see which employee sells the most fragrance and then they can win a prize or something? And not all the time, maybe just one week out of the month or something. I would like working for this company if they stopped the bullshit about fragrance and gave you at least 30 hours a week. 40 would be better though. Just sayin

Exactly, i work at this store and i just been cut to 11 hours for a 2 week period because”I wasnt making enough fragrance sales”. I was sent home for refusing to lock up my cell phone after being yelled at while in the process of doing it. I have responsibilities and 11 hours for 2 weeks wont cut it because i was told that selling fragrances was not optional at all and a requirement in order to get hours, even though Im a sales associate and it says no where in the job discripion’s fine a** writing that i have to sell fragrances to get hours. Store number 1568 by the way.

I was in store #00626 today and the manager Brandy was extremely rude to me. I have never been treated so badly at a store before like today. I love to shop at your stores but if this is the type of person that i have to deal with i will not be back.

I have always loved rue21 until today. I made an online order on Sunday June 7th. I used PayPal which accidentally pulled up the wrong address, I notice right away on the invoice so I sent an email (it was after hours) I recieved an email back Monday morning the 8th at 10:30am from someone named Austin stating they received my email and updated the shipping address to the correct one and everything was good to go. GREAT. Wrong. I received the shipment confirmation today and it’s being sent to the original incorrect address. So I immediatly called customer service .. Which is a complete JOKE! I was given the run around with associates by saying they aren’t authorized to change shipping addresses so there’s no way it could have been changed (are you kidding me?! I’ve never had a company say they can’t switch an address when it hasn’t been shipped) accused of lying because no one with the name “Austin” worked there and was asked to SCREENSHOT the email and forward it to them (do you not have records of email threads??!! so so unprofessional) and even hung up on by one young man!!!!! The next associate after I was hung up on said she would call UPS, switch addresses and figure it out and call me back (which I knew was a lie bc she didn’t even know the current address I needed it shipped to!) so I continued to ask questions and she finally said “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that I am authorized to call UPS.. Are you kidding me?!!!!!!! She was just lying to get me off the phone and who cares if I ever see the murchandise I’ve already paid for!! I was outraged by my treatment and asked to speak to a supervisor/manager. I was then forward to an “so busy assistant manager” (yes I was told this like they never take calls) named Joann. She preceded to give me the run around also stating there’s nothing they can do but theyre investigation by emailing “AUSTIN”.. Apparently he DOES work there! I want answers and my money back if they can’t change my shipping address like the said they did in my email long before it was ready to ship! This company is sad and should be ashamed of themselves!!!!

Poor management: I was shopping at the North Branch location on 6/6/15 and had the worst experience ever. I grabbed about 6 or 7 items off a $2 rack and went to purchase them. They all came up $5 and I explained they were off the $2 rack. The cashier said that customers put stuff where it dont belong all the time, and I agreed but I had multiples and different sizes of them multiples. So I tryed explaining that and she still blamed it on customers but said she would get the manager. The “manager” came over starting ringing them up and everything came up $5, so I once again was explaining to her that they came from the $2 rack. She blamed it on the customers for moving stuff. Which I replied yes I know people do this but I have multples and different sizes in them multiples so either your sign is wrong or it wasnt marked correctly. She all of the sudden raised her voice and told me I didnt need to have an attitude. I DID NOT have one and was actually being very calm with her. She proceeded to tell me she can kick me out of the store just because she can, and that she was going to call the cops. I told her to please call them then. My husband asked her if she was the manager, because he was shocked in the way she was acting, she said yes I am. Then I did get an attitude and told her she wouldnt be for long acting the way she was. She left the register turned her back to me and called me a F***ING B*TCH. Mind you this is in front of my minor children. Someone needs to handle this situation with her. I WILL NEVER SHOP RUE 21 AGAIN if shes stays a manager there. Word of mouth goes along way around here, and I have told many people about this already. Take care of it RUE 21.

Greetings, I would like to start off by saying, I am a loyal customer of RUE21 and I will continue to be; I enjoy the different trends and fragrances the stores offer, so, you can pretty much guess how excited I was to join the family. I was hired on March 23, 2015. I was hired at 112 Pavilion Pkwy, Fayetteville, GA 30214.Today is April 23, 2015 and I have yet to start working. Every time I call the store to ask for my employee number to check the schedule online, I am always given excuse’s about the fax machine is not working or something is going on with corporate. I am extremely feed up and frustrated with the run around I am being given. I wouldn’t like that as a customer and I especially do not like this as a employee?? To add injury to insult, I have filled out all of my paper work, such as, tax forms, pay rate etc….I need so answers please.

So I was working for the rue21 in Ohio and wanted to transfer. I call to a store located in Atlanta and ask how could I get transferred to their store. time goes by and they transfer me and the store manager gets all of my paper working transferred there. I move down a week later and immediately start working for them. With my first check I would already be putting toward my first month rent for my new apartment. Two weeks later on payday I don’t get paid and also to add insult to injury when it is time for me to get my new schedule for that following week my store manager call me and tells me that cant accept transfers due to the reason that they are a high risk store. This is a week later and I am not stuck in Atlanta jobless no money and no one is returning my phone calls from corporate. I don’t know what else to do besides apply for other jobs. I still haven’t received any information on why I haven’t got paid yet

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! We bought a product on 3/26 at 12:17 am with the additional $25 overnight delivery. In the statement as long as the order is placed before 1 pm 3/26 it would be delivered by 3/27. Now it’s Saturday 3/28 and still no order the UPS tracker is now stating it is scheduled for delivery Monday 3/30 by 10:30 am. WE NEEDED THE ITEMS FOR SATURDAY 3/28. Here it is Monday 3/30 6:35 pm and still no package! We had previously ordered the product but it was too small. That is why we were overnighting the product. Which left us in a bind for our special occasion. I am very disappointed and highly do not recommend this site!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!! I ordered 2 pairs of jeans and a sweatshit online, I received my package missing the pants and the bag was ripped in half, taped back together, with a signed sticker from a manager stating they recieved it opened. I called to inform them of my missing items, the lady told me i would be refunded, then i get an e mail stating basically I am lying and then send me the tracking information saying it was delivered so they wont return my money. Of course I got the package it was missing items. I will be taking this to corporate!!!

I have been working for Rue 21 since October 22, 2014 and now that it’s a new year and the holidays are over with , I find it completely strange that all of a sudden I’m either getting only 5 hours in a week or no hours at all! This would be my second week with no hours . NOT INCLUDING THE HOURS THAT OTHER COWORKERS CANT WORK. but it’s funny how Im getting zero hours a week and other sale associates are getting up to 15-25 hours per week, while I am over here struggling trying to help my mother pay things in the house and helping my grandmother pay the phone Bill, it seems like everyone else is getting by just fine.And with me going to school full time and going to Work part time or shall I say “NO TIME” at rue 21 it seems like everyone else who works for your company is getting by just fine. I will be talking to my manager tomorrow about my hours and if I don’t get more than 5 hours next week I will be calling a district manager or who ever is over this company about the shaddy stuff that is going on in the store of Erie, pa #0083 . Thank you for your patience during the after Holiday season lull. It is exactly the helpful and giving attitude of persons such as yourself that make it very difficult for store managers to schedule less than the desired employee work hours. Please know that It is somewhat a normal occurrence, albeit temporary, that work hours are cut for a variety of reasons. And it is appropriate and expected that employees will contact their district manager should concerns directed firstly to store managers go unresolved. Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. Were your concerns and question in regard to work hours answered by your telephone conversation with your district manager? How is your current experience going working at Rue 21?

I have worked for rue21 for years now and it’s has week going good untill we got a new DM and store manager… ever since my hours have got cut way down… I have been over the guys side of the store for the past 3 year and I keep it 25-30% well over the company’s standards… and I have also traveled For company and cleaned up other stores and teaching visuals and How to get comp report percents up…. I make big sell for the company like $1000 sells I have already sold over a hundred bottles of fragrance this week. but now I feel like why do all when now when i can’t even pay my light bill……

I am completely shocked at how badly I am treated as a hard working employee. I am a minor and a high school student therefore I can not work past 10 PM during the week but my incompetent store manager schedules me 6-11 quite often. When my father expressed his concerns they completely took my shift away from me instead of working with me. I feel if someone is not responsible enough to pay attention the school schedules of ALL his employees, he should not manage a store.

That’s like my daughter she was hired at the Pikeville KY one in September last year and her friend was hired in November I think the girl that was hired in November her mom is friends with the manager so this girl gets the hrs my daughter had worked 4 hrs in two weeks and the manager who is a nasty unfriendly person won’t respond and give a reason why nor will she give her hours I’m going to our local pepper and let people know just how this company allows their employees to be treated and the corporate office nothing

I placed an order online, I received an order confirmation, late in the day I received another email stating my order was cancelled. I immediately called, but they were closed, so I sent an email. It kicked back an auto reply to call customer service. I called first thing in the morning, spent an hour and a half on the phone with at least 3-4 different people, they told me that they cancelled my order because when I ordered through PayPal, my account last name was different. Yes, before I was married I had created my paypal account. I have attempted to change it, but it diverts back to my maiden name sometimes. So, after I explained that yes, I indeed ordered all the merchandise, please send me the products. They told me they could not reinstate the order, once it’s cancelled you have to go back online or order everything over the phone again. Well, my account has already put a hold for that amount, they told me that it would take at least 10days for that to be released. Wow, YOU cancel my order and can’t send me the products I ordered? So, reluctantly I tell the customer service rep ALL the style numbers of the clothes I ordered the first time. She tells me that 3 of my items are now out of stock in the sizes I needed. WHAT??? I already ordered them!! How are they gone now. So, then she gives me a NEW total which is MORE than my original total and LESS clothes…….. Insane. How should I have to pay more for the clothes I already purchased??? Terrible attitude on the phone and didn’t care that there was nothing they could do. I will never order from them again. The least they could have done was sent a security email to make sure I was the correct purchaser or called. If MY bank didn’t flag the transaction why would they?? I am completely disappointed, they should have been able to go back to my order and shipped it with NO problems. Now, I have to WAIT 10 days for my funds to be released to go find a new place to get my kids some Christmas presents. It sounds like from all these posts they are losing some BIG spenders in their store. You would think they would make this right.

I have to say the manager Jessica T. in the cadillac mi store is the by far the worst manager ever! In fact calling her a manager is an insult to the title! She curses in front of customers including kids! She’s very mouthy and extremely rude! She treats her employees like dogs! She makes them stay open two hours after closing because the sale goal is off by $20! She yells at her emp,yes in front of customers! She needs to be fired! I have avoided that store now because of her!

No matter which Rue 21 , there will always be bad customer service. The training thereis probably the worst ever. They don’t train thoroughly and if they do, it’s only for a day or two. When they hire new people they definitely do not train great as well. Bad customer service is because of the store manager. I believe a change needs to happen, some managers should not even had been a manager. Also, you can work your butt but get almost the same pay as miminum wage, sales associate or assistant manager. It’s not worth the pay, not worth dealing with the unprofessional managers and not worth dealing with problems that comes up withing the work place that the manager starts. It’s just not worth working for Rue 21, a company who has bad customer service and who can’t / doesn’t control and change store managers.

I have a granddaughter working at one of your Rue 21 stores here in Michigan and I find it to be very disturbing how your chain of stores operates. One, my granddaughter is a FT Asst Manager and there is one other FT Asst Manager. The Manager of the store was transferred to another location and since then these ladies have worked nonstop having no days off; sometimes working double shift or two in the same week. What type of labor does your store promote? The pay is very low, health insurance is not being offered and the working conditions are horrible. Of course, they could quite but they seem to like working for the store. My question is how long does it take to hire another Manager to balance this type of work conditions? A very concern grandparent wants to know. I would appreciate any feedback or resolution to this unfair employment issue. Boycotting this store probably would be the best. Thank you.

Your team needs to take notice and observe the Westland Michigan store on my receipt the store number is 00971.WOW I am a converted customer because of the attentive staff and especially Larissa H. I am a customer service Manager for a well known store and this gal hit every point of service I require for. My own staff. Larissa was please not beyond helpful and are you ready represent your company with complete professional care I will be back. I chose your place for my b irks over Love culture, forever 21 XXI forever wet seal just to name a few. Simply because of her high performance and dedication I will always drive 60 minutes to this location and recommend Rueda 21.

I visited your store in bemidji MN the other day, and the employee who assisted me was completely RUDE. she had a bad attitude and the other employees standing behind the counter were mad about how many customers were in the store and that they just wanted everyone to leave so they could sit down and relax. There was only two girls out on the floor straightening things and re stocking the clothing. When I was ready to pay , a lady named Allison didn’t smile or even greet me , she just rang up my clothes and took the money. When she gave my change back she practically threw in into my hand. Didn’t say “have a nice day or anything” , so I just threw my receipt into my bag and walked away, as I was walking away the girls behind the counter started telling each other I was being a rude b*#$& . Never will I shop at that store again. No employee should ever treat a customer like that. I have spent hundreds of dollars there in the past week. But now they have lost my business for good.

Yesterday 8-2-14 I took my 3 daughters to the rue 21 in Newnan ga for back to school a shopping, the same as every birthday, Christmas, ext. We love the clothes and but with 3 girls to shop for we have to be as thrifty as possible. So I used a planned on using a coupon that I found online. The coupon seemed valid for everything. And it was for online or in store. The dates were correct to use them. The coupon was 80 off 200 spent or 100 off 250 spent. I let the lady scan everything and presented her with the coupon. She said that that was a valid coupon but just not for that store. It was mistakingly sent out to emails but it could not be used. My total was over 200$ and would have been over 250 but it was the tax free day. I could not believe they would not honor that coupon! Or at least offer some kind of substitute to help with the cost. Another employee overheard us and she simply said “no, it was a mistake. It works for all our other stores but not this one.” How can that be true? It makes no sense to me that a company would not allow their store to honor a coupon that was sent out even if it was a mistake to send it. And why would it only work at “other” stores? It made me so upset I almost left everything there but my girls had already picked them out and had their hearts set on them. I could understand if I had misread the coupon but I had no reason to believe the coupon wouldn’t be honored until we had spent an hour in the store shopping and another 15 min in line. The two ladies I spoke to were unfriendly and uncaring. Not to mention there are probably laws that protect customers from being scammed by fake coupons or pricing. I have never contacted a corporate office in my life to complain but I am still so upset about this and I am sure that there were others that had the same problem with those coupons. The employees defiantly had denied them before. I was not the first one to bring one in and be denied the right to use it. I may only be one person but I have spent thousands of dollars in that store. More than 500 just this summer. I honestly don’t think the employees know how to treat customers and I blame corporate if those coupons were sent out by mistake and then the store was told not to honor them! That is a horrible way to treat someone who is buying from your store. I expect that I should get an email or phone call about this. I would hope that the customer service would give me my money back god the coupon or at the very least a gift card. If it’s not made right I will never step foot in another rue 21. Thanks for your time.

I went to Rue 21 in Jacksonville, Nc and the treatment I got was so rude. First nobody greeting me, nobody show me their fragrance as they supposed to. When I was ready to pay the cashier ( pregnant woman ) was the rude one, she asked me for my zip code and I told her ” I don’t know, the one from here ” and she rolled her eyes and I told her I just moved here that’s why in don’t know my zip code. Then I asked her to check a price of a necklace because it wasn’t markdown but there where more of the same one on sale and I want to make sure it was on sale too. So she told me it’s regular price and she didn’t scaned it, she just looked the tag of the necklace, so I told her where I found it and then she scaned it, and of course it was on sale. At the end she didn’t even said thank or explained their coupon, she just stappled the coupon to my recipe and handed to me. The only good think about my expirence at this store it was, for the first time it was clean and of course the sales.

I frequently shop you store in Brownsburg In. I can’t say enough about the amazing customer service I receive and how clean and stocked it stays. I love that the Store Manager and Associates are always willing to stop and help me create outfits that make me feel great about myself. I tell everyone I know to shop here because of the prices and quality of their customer service. Thank you so much for for being a retail store that makes their customers feel special while spending their money.

I just visited your store in spencer iowa…the treatment I got was so wrong. I walked into your store. Two girls behind counter. Chose not to ask me what I wanted. A third gal came from back,told me she would help but I had to wait.while she helped another person. Now correct me if im wrong but last I knew if your at counter first you help that person….
my family loves to shop ur store.. I however will nver step foot in a place that treats people like that….i really hope that this is not how ur store conducts business…you see I am a small business owner in this town. ….thanks for your time rock campbell
