Mellow Mushroom History

Mellow Mushroom is a casual chain of restaurants serving pizza, pasta, and other types of Italian food. The company was founded in 1974 by several Georgia Tech college students who believed that making the proper pizza was a science that they could perfect. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

Today, the company has more than 150 locations, most of them franchised. Mellow Mushroom offers a wide assortment of beers and is well known for the colorful tie-dyed mushroom decorations and hippie themed restaurants. Many locations offer bingo night, live music on the weekends, and/or karaoke or trivia competitions. Some locations offer delivery, but not all.

Mellow Mushroom continues to expand and plans on opening 3 new locations in 2016 in Florida, New Jersey, and St. Louis, Missouri.

My husband and I we’re celebrating our anniversary, and my husband hasn’t had a drop to drink in 3 yrs Neither have I. My husband has been a recovering alcoholic for 3 yrs now, and He ordered the drink for me( I don’t drink very much anyway) they refused us. They said we were intoxicated, and we haven’t had a drop to drink. We don’t drive either, we actually walked the mile to come to your place to eat. It’s been about 2 weeks since this incident, I have been very upset about this. I realize that ppl have a job to do, but I’m pretty sure that managers can tell the difference between intoxicated and not being intoxicated. It’s been a hot summer in Alabama, and since we don’t have a vehicle I’m sure you can imagine we have to walk everywhere. In other words if we were stumbling, it’s probably because we were hot. we are just a married couple trying to enjoy out anniversary, and not to be accused of being drunk

question is where do I start? well I was going during the mid afternoon hrs. I”ve got a few complaints about the toms river mushroom. 1st off I”m a disabled vet I go there to relax and talk to spme of my friends that I asked to come with me, and since I buy quite often they come. my girlfriend and ! went there yesterday about 5 p.m. for a beer and wine and an app before going back home. I”ve had nothing but aggravation from your management, who we tried to help with ideas even offered to pay someone to come in and give entertainment that is equivelant to the area (which she has no clue) I blame you people how about hiring someone that has a clue!!! this is the 2nd time I”ve had to send out a message, I”m pissed! like I said I”m a disabled vet so I have only my right hand to type! my 1st complaint is about your manager jessie (don”t know her last name. there was a manager first name chris (who I think she was dating who recently left your organization now the young guy that she bumped up to his position convenient now that she gets to support hickeys on her neck (and who knows where else!) now chris would come over shake your hand and thank you for coming jessie cold shoulder cause she complaining about the lack of business. now I live in a senior development your place is in front of 10,000 homes you go in there and they are playing head banging music and loud too!! I have to bring my own coaster instead of fighting some shreeded paper towel!! if you ask what is going on they tell you to go outside and read the little blackboard. I ask them why they don”t show it on the big board on the wall that you can see from the bar. we have made suggestions on tyoe of entertainment (who”s been successful in the area to bring in customers and the blow us off. no paper towels in the bathroom. health dept will love that one! my girlfriend who is a politician in north jersey by the way and runs a travel agency asked for a simple phone call about handing out flyers in our clubhouses about running an evening for charity. I”ve had 2 run ins with your bartenders last one called me a liar I like to joke around sometimes but that will not be tolerated. I spent approx. 100 buck a week there the key word was SPENT. not to be threatened to be hauled out by the police! you got your nerve. I will be in touch with my lawyer on the way I”ve been treated embarrassed in front of my lady! food sometimes comes out flat, burned and whatever. here in jersey all we have are bars Christ the are 4 within shouting distance of your establishment and I will make it my job to get word out about this place! seem”s like when you finally get someone in there that knows how to smile they are gone in a min. I”m retired in 1 month”s time I could triple the output of this place. you need real managers in there like chris james not sot someone that don”t know how to listen! they say I complain to much well when I have bartenders filling my glass when I”m not done with it well I make a complaint! if I hit a pole on the way home you sure don”t care. I carry some weight around here and I”m going to notify some people about this. your not going to last long in this town anyway. if someone from the main office would like to speak to me you have my email address pls forward a number I can call. the VA will hear about this and guess what 60 percent of the vets live in the adult communities behind the mushroom! I”ll be heading to the miracle bar (have much better food anyway) and I can relax to some Sinatra instead of van halen. HINT KNOW YOUR AREA!!!

The management at the Clemson, SC location are not very professional. There is sexual harassment and discrimination occuring in a daily basis. Favorites are chosen due to management working with these employees at a previous location. The hardest working, best server’s are looked over and discriminated against. The management needs an overhaul, from top to bottom. There are way too many college kid’s working there with no real life experience and it shows when they’re all grouped together doing nothing but having their faces in their phone’s. I’m sure there’s plenty of work that can be done or customers to serve.

We have visited the Mellow Myshroom in Macon ga prob 5 times since it reopened and for the life of me I don’t know why it reopened! Management is worse now than it was before. Was getting a carry out one time and the mgr started yelling at the young man waiting on us, asked the young man who that man was he said my general mgr. No matter if this young man did anything or not he should of never been talked to in that manner around guest or other employees. Another time we were there and asked for the braves to be turned on and we heard him say what’s up with southern people wanting to watch the Braves. Last time I checked this is ga and in the south and we do pay his bills by coming in. 3rd we had a large party a few weeks ago and asked to see a mgr, was gonna ask if we could get fans turned up because they were on low, no mgr ever came. When I asked who he was the server showed me, he was a shorter black gentlemen. Then went for lunch yesturday and everything came out cold! Whoever the owner is he needs to go in and clean house on his mgment staff! We will never be back and will make sure we tell everyone we know. The reason we didn’t let mgr know about cold food is because of the way other visits have turned out it obvious that he doesn’t care

Friday, April 20, 2018, while waiting for my 7 year old daughter to be picked up. I decided to take her to get something to eat. We ordered a kids meatballs and an Italian hoagie. After 30 minutes passed, i received my food but my daughter did not. 10 minutes went by before the server checked on us. I told him her has not arrived and he said he would check on the situation. We watched him walk straight to another table, took there order. My seven year old daughter said, I guess there isn’t a situation. After he took their order, he still had not gone to kitchen to check on my daughter’s food. instead he went to the bar( as he looked at us watching him) and got the other table’s beer. Then he went to the kitchen came back and said he told the manager and they are doing something with the food. A few minutes went by and the manger brought her food and said her food is free. no apologies. My daughter wanted to know why the server did that, I told either he is just a terrible server or we just got stereotyped and thought the other table was going to tip better. Should have listened to her and went to McDonald’s.

My wife and I tried to go eat at the Mellow Mushroom in Mansfield, TX. We went and and there were not very many customers here. So after waiting for about 5 minutes someone finally comes up to the front to takes us to a table. He heads to the worst table in the restaurant and we politely ask to sit some place else. He says he doesn’t have anything. My wife says what about this table he says it’s not clean. i said what about the multiple booths on the otherside and he says I just put someone there and the wait staff needs to catch up. Really they can only help one customer at a time. I told him never mind we would just leave and he said okay. Who let’s paying customers leave. This kid did not care in the least. We have been here multiple times before and the wait staff can be an issue. We love the pizza and the pretzels but we have left a couple of times before due to issues. It is reallly ashame they have so many issues with their staff. i think they need some better training. I have talked to the owner a couple of times before with issues at the Mansfield and Arlington restaurants. She is really nice but they need better staff.

We visit our local MM on a regular basis. Never a bad experience, but the orders have been incorrect or less than perfect from time to time. That being said, the staff has always bent over backwards to make sure that deficiencies are corrected or removed from the bill and we always leave happy.
I would like to propose a change to the facial hair policy. Cooks and food prep personnel with 1 inch facial hair are required to wear beard restraint masks. Those with shorter facial hair are not. people with facial hair are 6 times more likely to lose a whisker than a hair from the top of the head. Further, by requiring personnel to wear a beard restraint when facial hair reaches 1 inch in length creates hostility of those who have shorter facial hair and not required to wear the restraint. I suggest that all Food prep employees with facial hair, regardless of length, wear the beard restraint. This will promote a harmonious work environment that will be reflected in performance.

I usually don’t write complaints especially about food places unless they stand out like a sore thumb!
We went to your newest Mellow Mushroom located in Midlothian, VA ( the only one in Midlothian) this past Friday nite ( Jan 26th) around 8:30pm and were told the wait would be about 15 min. Well the 15 min turned into about 25 min wait with no place to sit b/c the small sofa was full and my sister walks with a cane! Once we were finally seated, my niece sat down in a water and my sister’s feet slipped as she was sitting down in liquid under the table! We looked and there apparently was a whole drink that had been spilled by previous customers along with crayons, pizza /bread crust all under the table. Our shoes got wet and when the server came and was told she came back with a small rag and we told her she needed a mop! We all got up and went back to the waiting area to allow them to clean and then returned to the table only to find the water still on the back of the seat along with food and bits of paper! My neice went to hostess and asked for a dry rag to clean seat off and was given one and she wiped the seat off and there was visible dirt on rag and hostess saw it and said nothing! It took about another 10 min for server to come back to take our order. Then she brought us big dinner plates and we had no cutlery or napkins. My husbands root beer was flat and had scant amount of ice in glass. He asked for more ice but realized that was not the problem but that it had little fizz and asked for another one. It took her forever to bring the requested ice and then again even longer to return with new drink. Finally got our salads but had to ask for silverware and had to wait for her to bring that before we could start eating. Then our order finally came – some salad bowls were still on the table plus the big dinner plates and there were five of us at the table wedged into a corner with part sofa and chairs. We didn’t use the plates so we lifted them off and put them on the sofa to make more room for us to eat and she finally came back and took salad bowl and some trash and left the plates in the sofa!
The manager came over and we told him everything that had happened up to that point and he seemed to blow it off but did say we would be taken care of when we got our bill. No apology offered from him. He said he was getting ready to leave. We pointed out to our server, Frances everything that had not made it a good meal and she too seemed disingenuous with her remarks.
My GF pizza was not nice and hot but rather kinda luke warm but it tasted delicious. I didn’t say anything about it being warm as I didn’t want to have to wait for it to be fixed! Everyone else who got regular pizza or GF pizza theirs were hot and delicious and my sisters calzone was really good !
The food was delicious but THE SERVICE – WASN’T nor was THE MANGEMENT!
There was no discount, coupons, free drinks or even a peppermint given for all our troubles like the manager had said he would take care of us!
My brother was up visiting from two hours away and was looking forward to coming here for dinner as he enjoyed it the last time he was up several months ago – all of us were disgusted to say the least when we left and know that there are other places to eat which is a shame because we really like the food!
As I began to look at other comments from other locations in other states, I found very few that gave positive reviews and most weren’t about the food but more about the service which gets back to management!
It is my sincere hope that you will take this complaint and others and make it right. So, that we can enjoy a good dining experience every time!

You put a Mellow Mushroom in Lincoln, Nebraska. It is awesome. I live in Omaha, Nebraska which is twice the size of Lincoln. Are you planning on adding one in Omaha, Nebraska. I hate driving an hour to go there. We have more colleges and functions here. College World Series. Swim trials. Etc. please advise.

Really dissapointed! Menu changed! No more Portabella Mushroom appetizer which was great for us low-carb folks. Also the mushroom soup portion has been decreased by half! Bartender was very surly and had very poor customer service. Used to be one of my “go to” places but I don’t know if I will return. I guess you have to be a carb lover now in order to go there.

I recently had dinner at the Mellow Mushroom in Summerville SC. I was with hungry grandchildren so I could not leave. The large pizza was terrible. We had build your own and the amount of extras was small to non existent. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the pizza. When I made a comment about the small number of toppings I was basically blown of with a off handed comment. It is a shame what was once a nice eating establishment has sunk to this level. It was a waste of $50.00

We live in Fleming Island FL. We are frequent patrons of the Mellow Mushroom and have enjoyed eating out as a family. About 3 weeks ago on a Saturday we went to eat in the evening after a long day on the football field. I asked for a booth and we were seated at the bar area which was ok until I realized there was someone doing renovations while food was being served. The bar area was being varnished as we sat there. I couldn’t believe the smell it was horrible not to mention the risk of fire. I was starting to get a headache and asked for a new table they gave the only open table to a family that had just arrived. We walked out so disappointed. Not sure if we will go back. We were very upset about a bad experience.

We just got avocado subs from the Mobile, AL location. It looks like you changed your bread and got rid of the bean sprouts. I hate to say this, but we officially don’t like mellow mushroom anymore. I visited the Mellow Mushroom in Stockbridge Ga. On 7/13/2017. My order # was 10004. I took my food to go. When I ate my steak hoagie later, I chomped down on a piece of what seemed to be bone. Little did I know it cracked my filling in tooth. Once the pain in my tooth sent me to the dentist, they told me I needed a $900 repair. I notified the manager on duty that evening, he told me to come in and fill out an incident report. I went in the next day, same manager was there, he said he did not know what to do but he would pass my contact info to his district manager who would call me after their meeting. I have not heard from anyone yet. I saved my receipt and the bone to send in to the corporate office to notify them of the poor quality of the meat in the sandwich, not realizing that it was going to be my proof that it broke my filling. I will never eat there again. I am using this forum make others aware and to possibly get a call back.

As much as I enjoy Mellow Mushroom, I have had a very disappointing experience with the Northlake location. Visiting there for lunch with friends, our server was incompetent. She couldn’t get the lunch special correct, charging extra for drinks, even though the receipt stated drink was included. Then she charged an upcharge for a side salad that was part of the special requiring us to get the manager to correct the bill. To make matters worse, she ran all of our tickets on the wrong credit cards. The manager reran the tickets, apologized, and told us we would see the corrected amount come through on our credit cards. The entire check out process took about 30 minutes. When my credit card bill came through, it was incorrect. I called Ryan, manager at Northlake to report this. He assured me he would take care of it and call me back. The next week, I still haven’t heard from Ryan and called him back. He told me they were having a District meeting that day and would have it corrected and call me back. It has now been 2 weeks and I have still not heard back from Ryan and my charge has not been corrected. I find it hard to believe that this issue has been so difficult to resolve. I am escalating this complaint to you since Ryan has not been able to correct the situation. I am even more disappointed that I have had to go to this much trouble in an attempt to correct this issue.
I look forward to hearing from you, hopefully no later than a week from now.

EMPLOYEE INFORMED US THAT IT WENT OUT LAST NIGHT. YOU HAVE PEOPLE WALKING OUT OF YOUR RESTURANT. DO YOU REALLY CARE???? UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS. PLEASE E-MAIL ME. I have been a regular customer at mellow Mushroom for over a year now in Port Orange, Fl… I never complain but feel like my friends and I received the WORST service ever on June 6, 2017 Tuesday afternoon around 5:30 PM. I have not been back since and may not ever return because of the attitude that was given to us by a bar tender named Rachel. I will not get into details but I will give you a few adjectives of how myself and a group of friends feel about this woman.
UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, INADEQUATE, UNABLE TO HANDLE STRESS AND HER BAR (she definitely needed help) , ARGUMENTATIVE… put our checks together although we were separate then could not figure out what to put on who’s bill even though we asked her to begin with that we were separate.. this is not the first time this has happened with this particular bartender…she is the ONLY one I have EVER had an issue with ever at your establishment. As a matter of fact I have never made a complaint about anyone before but this was so unbelievable that 2 weeks later I am still angry and have not been back. Every other employee has always been friendly and sufficient just this one woman… if she rolled her eyes anymore they would get stuck in the back of her head. And also we could over hear her complaining about another group of customers that were ordering specialty drinks and she was mad she had to make them and actually had to stop and look the drinks up in the menu to be able to know what was in them. Wow you are mad that people are ordering drinks but you are a bartender???? NICE. Our friends have been going to Applebees or Houligans now and may not go back to your restaurant but if we do it will NEVER be on that woman’s shift. Again, RUDE!!!!!!!! WORST SERVICE EVER. Just tyhought you would like to know…and you can probably go watch the video footage of her throwing my friends check at her. Never again.

I and my family went to Little Rock, AR location on 11th June 2017. This was the first time we went. As we entered there was a sign posted for promotional gift card event. We wanted to purchase that and use that. GM was called and she stated the promotional event is no longer available and that she will be able to use it this time as the poster was not removed. We asked to use the same gift card while we dine in. GM told my brother “Shady” for asking that. And it was very weird expression on GM’s face while stating that.
At the end while paying at the counter, GM told my brother that “he is such a pain to deal with”. Frankly, I do not get it. Why would GM has to speak such a language. I was embarrassed to even speak a single word. I felt just pay and leave the place and never ever come back. We paid the amount and left the place.
This is not the way to treat any customer or my Family.
Note: Please Respect the Customers and do not use foul language.

Not only had my flight been canceled but the entire Bellingham route was canceled! I was already on the hook for a $1,000+ VRBO vacation rental, lift tickets and a rental car!

This was just the beginning of my nightmare experience with SkyBus Airlines.

It was 2007 and there was a new airline called SkyBus which had their main hub in Columbus, Ohio where I live. SkyBus would sell tickets by creating a tiered pricing system. Bascially, as soon as a flight was available, the first few tickets would be only $10 each way. After those sold out, the price would jump to $50, then $100 and so on.

A couple buddies and I had planned a snowboarding trip to Whistler, BC. SkyBus flew non-stop to Bellingham, Washington. We were going to fly there, rent a car and drive over the border for some snowboarding. We jumped on the tickets quickly after they were released (6 months before the trip). I scored a $50 seat and all my friends got $100 or $150 tickets. We booked a house on VRBO and bought lift tickets.

Things were looking good. Everyone was excited and we were saving a ton of money by flying to Bellingham instead of directly into Whistler! SkyBus sent an email in August, about a month after we bought our tickets, and said they flight was rescheduled for an hour earlier. No big deal…

Then in October, the worst thing possible happened. They canceled our flight! And not just our particular flight but ALL flights to Bellingham. I was LIVID! We had put down a deposit on the VRBO rental and had the entire trip planned out.

Was in the Arlington Texas mellow mushroom. Maybe 1/3 full. After waiting 58 minutes we were told we are really busy. Couple next to us left mad too. They had been there 1 1/2 hours and sent their pizza back (not cooked). Why would a restaurant ever say we are really busy? Should I ask next time are you really busy? So I can expect poor service. Isn’t everyone happy when your really busy. Food sales, tips etc. good luck with that manager who was busy when we ask to speak to her

Let me start by saying I work at Mellow Mushroom, so if coporate runs like the lmei work at, employees don’t matter. At all. My managers, are not only liars, their unreliable. I hate needing a manager for something and not being able to find them because they’re on their 2nd smoke break in the middle of the day. Then when you find one you get attitude. It makes us employees look bad to the customers while our manager is just in a bad mood that day so we sometimes have to apologies for our manager and can’t get anybody because that’s the GM. It’s a shame because it’s a great job, love the company but this is ridiculous. They pick favorites and the most hard working people don’t even get acknowledged. To be able to make your customers happy you need your employees to at least be treated right so they’re happier knowing they’re not getting screwed over by their bosses.

Read this before you eat at

My family and I went to the mellow mushroom in New Albany Ohio on Friday
March 3 , 2017 .

We were seated in a reasonable amount
Of time and a waiter came to our table
To take our food , drink and appetizer order so Everything looked like it was going to
Be an enjoyable evening at this point .

Our drinks came and we advised the
Waiter that we would need additional plates and silverware because there was only 4 for a party of 6 .

Our appetizer came and we again asked
For a few extra plates . A half an hour
Went by and our waiter still had not returned . Naturally by this time our
Drinks were empty and the appetizer
Had been eaten and mellow mushroom
Is usually very good about getting your
Food to you within a half an hour or at
Their slowest day 40 min . No problem
, sometimes things are busy but since
We didn’t even see our waiter in the
Dining room for that whole half hour
Where we could have easily given him
A wave and asked him to come to our
Table we kind of wondered if his shift
Was over and maybe the new waiter
Didn’t know to come and check on us .

We went to the hostess station and
Asked if our waiter were still here or
If they could find out what had happened .

They did and the waiter came with our
Food but still no plates or silverware
For a couple of us .

The kids started eating the pizzas we had ordered and We asked for plates and silver again . Our waiter returned with 4 plates a short time later.

When he sat them down we noticed
They were wet ( just cleaned so we went to wipe Them off and noticed that one of
Them still had FOOD on it and another

I then said something to the waiter .
I told him he hadn’t checked on us for
A half an hour , had forgotten to bring
Us plates and silver a couple times
So we didn’t have them for appetizers
Or even when our food came . We didn’t
Have drink refills when our food came and
When he finially did get us plates
He didn’t look at them and brought
Us ones with FOOD and HAIR on them .

Combined with the overall way our
Service had been that day this was
Inexcusable .

We asked for a manager .

A manager came to the table , we explained what had happened and
apologized .

He said he would adjust the bill to
Which I still wasn’t happy about
And asked him if our positions were
Reversed and he was telling me
That not only was the service bad
( which I can deal with ) but I then
Brought your family wet plates with
Food and hair on them on top
Of it all . What would he say ?

He apologized again and said he
Would adjust the bill . I thought
Ok , the mushroom is a good place and they willl try to do the right thing . It’s got to be comp or at least
Half off . The stuff that happened here
Tonight is just too crazy for a place like
The mellow mushroom to not be
Professional about .

Well , we get our bill and they had taken
10% off . All I could say was Wow!!!

I was heated and was really going to
Give the manager and waiter a piece of my mind in front of everyone but that would
Only make me an a**hole ( although a justifiable one ) and ruin the night for other people
who were enjoying themselves and
Had nothing to do with how bad our
Night had been .

We gathered our things and left the restarting truly disappointed from our
Experience there that evening . We were
Big fans of mellow mushroom and
Ate there often enough . Now just
Based on the sheer unprofessionalism
Of this experience I really don’t see
Us supporting their business anymore .

Honestly , i didn’t write this because we want our money back or a gift card . I can’t say that I would be
Very inclined to return to any restaurant
That brought me or my family dirty dishes
To my table .

I also understand and realize that some people are hard
To deal with at restaurants and try
To pull scams to get free food but
We are neither . When the plates
Were brought to our table we pointed
It out to our waiter right then and there
And I thought we were pretty patient
On waiting a half an hour with no
Plates and empty as well .

This was written simply for the customers
Who go there to see how we were treated
And to evaluate wether they would return
Or go to To this particular mellow mushroom . I’m not dogging them all
But I wouldn’t suggest going to this one .
( this actually is my second bad mushroom trip at new Albany ha ! )

And for the corporate office the owners of
This establishment to look at this particular
Experience . Mellow mushroom is a
Good place but as an owner I wouldn’t
Think a lot of experiences like the
One we had would be good for business.

my family of three and two of our friends went to our St. Simons Ga Mellow Mushroom tonight
Feb 3rd, we got to o our table, and then we sat and sat and know one ever came to ask us if we needed anything I hade to ask for someone to come and take our order, the manager came over and said I see you have been sitting here for awile, then he got someone to take our order I know it was a Friday night it took a very long time to get our food, the food was good but not over a hour, then the manager neaver came back to see if eveyyhing was ok or not the less he should have done was given us a discount or something for our time it will be a long time befor we go back.,

The new menu cover reads “nothing gets you high like a piece of pie? REALLY. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN ADD NOTHING GETS YOU HIGH… ON THE COVER OF A MENU. Children are eating and reading these days and probably are asking their parents what gets you high means. Your marketing department should be fired.

Mellow Mushroom was once a great, fun place to work at. But it seems overtime they’ve become focused on packaging everything up all nice and neat and giving it a system comparable to fast food.
These people care so much about money that they don’t value their employees. Anybody is fit to run their stores as long as that person has a mentality focused entirely on numbers, even if they can’t do a single thing but be a bad boss.
Honest, hardworking, experienced workers constantly leave because Mellow refuses to pay them a measely $10.00 per hour.
It seems anybody is hireable even if they constantly cause bad service. Mellow Mushroom sees humans as meat that can be replaced by more meat.
Employees become burned out, feel unappreciated, and work way too hard for what they get paid. But of course that doesn’t matter as long as the store brings in the cash.
I suppose this is just inevitable for business with many locations.
Its a shame this place has changed.

The general manager at the Murfreesboro location does absolutely nothing, but watches Netflix and smoke cigarettes. Chelsea does nothing to aid her employees, and causes high turnover rates. She puts few hours in and makes the other managers pick up all the work. Serious help from corporate is needed.

I am horrified devastated and terribly ill after visiting one of your locations in Raleigh. I have been a vegan for over 20 years and I frequent Mellow Mushroom in Fort Lauderdale and have never had an issue. But when I went to the Raleigh location I ordered a vegan pizza with tempeh on it as usual. I was very clear about making sure my pizza was vegan as I always do. The waitress even repeated back to me that I want in Tempeh. We were very hungry as we have just came from the gym so I started to eat my pizza but on my second slice in I realized that it wasn’t tempeh and in fact they had put sausage on my vegan pizza. That was a huge mistake I don’t understand how they could do that to somebody. And now I’m violently ill and horrified that I ate sausage. That’s just completely against everything I believe in and stand for in my life. I’m being in for animal rights reasons and I don’t ever want to ingest anything that has to do with animals or animal cruelty. But thanks to the Mellow Mushroom in Raleigh I just did

There is a very corrupt manager at Mellow Mushroom at Hamilton Place in Chattanooga, Tennessee. His name is Bradley Johnson and he says he can do whatever he wants. He likes to play grab a** with the servers, have inappropriate relations with servers while on the clock, and he has no regard for his employees safety. I was hurt on the job and no one rendered me any aid. I had to drive myself to the hospital and upon returning to work I was handed a separation notice. Bradley failed to file an OSHA reports and fired me in order to cover his own mistakes.

I have loved your yearly calendar for several years, and look forward to getting one every year.
This year, however, i was very disappointed. First, you cut the size down, the boxes for the days are too small to actually use it for a calendar. Total waste. Second, the art work is not up to your usual standards. The best one you put out, in my opinion, was the rock and roll one, a couple of years ago, with the nice big white boxes for use, and great cartoon characters and lively color. I am hoping next year’s is back up to your earlier standards.
I am a disappointed fan. Thank you

I love your food and I wish there was one closer. I’d like to put a request in for a restaurant in the Dayton Ohio area. I half to travel 45min just to eat your food. Plus not having one around here I’m sure it would bring in a crowd!!!!

So I have been to mellow mushroom I would say 4 times in the last maybe 3 months. I order the same thing every time so this most recent visit wasn’t going to be any different. I planned on getting the usual, now I know what I order is no longer on the menu but they still have the key on the computer ( so I’ve been told by an mellow mushroom employee on my previous visits, and I know that, that could very well be true having that I have waitressed in the past) so I thought this time would be no different.

I go to place my to go order, and the young lady tells me that they don’t have what I’m trying to order on their menu anymore, I anticipated that answered so I asked if they still had the key on the computer for this particular item, without looking she tells me no. So ok I began to describe the pizza for her, she doesn’t even know what it is so I’m thinking well how would you know that you don’t have the key if you don’t even know what it is.

So then I ask her could you ask the chefs if they knew the recipe so I could just build the pizza, she declines to even go back to there to ask, she just says ” no I’m sorry we don’t make that pizza anymore”. Ok so I try in remember what’s on the pizza to try in order it to the best of my memory. So I place the order, after placing the order it dawns on me to just look up the recipe online and in doing so I saw that I left 2 ingredients off. Right after placing the order maybe within 2 mins, i ask her could I pay for 2 more ingredients. She goes to the kitchen and comes back and says ” it’s too late its in the oven”. I’m like really in 2 maybe 3 mins they have already put my pizza together and have placed it in the oven, ok really? but then after that it takes over 25 to 30 mins before my pizza comes out….Really!

Yea I used to work at the mellow mushroom at Rockville town center in MD and I recently quit cuz the gerenal manager Andrew kept lying to me about adding the 22 hours of work they owe me on my upcoming checks and now he is refusing to pay me..I have never even heard of a gm doing this and acting so unprofessional the way he is and I really don’t wanna call my uncle who is a lawyer in DC and sue Danny Trehan and the mellow mushroom company but he is giving me no choice and I heard from the other manager who was trying to help me get the money from him that this is the second time this month that Andrew has refused to pay an employee of what mellow mushroom owes them so I will be in contact with him to and give him my uncles number to sue too..

I left for a similar reason in Farragut Tn.They offered me a raise after working there almost two years and five weeks of telling me they would give me back pay I gave up.

I have been to your San Antonio, TX location several times, love the food. I have been a bit put off the last two times I have visited, however – the latest of which was this evening, Friday, September 2. We arrived at 6:30, thinking perhaps there might not be a table available. When we walked in, we saw an empty booth in front of us, and several available tables. We were asked (really TOLD) that it would be about 15 minutes, as they “didn’t want to overwhelm the server.” I had been told the SAME thing two weeks before (on a Thursday), but I waited as my friend hadn’t arrived yet, anyway.

Why, when there are multiple tables available, would you say this to a customer? We would have happily sat at a table to enjoy a beer for 15 minutes, and given the “overwhelmed server all the time he/she needed to get to us. The bar wasn’t an option as we had our 14 year old with us.

It is worth noting that when I dined there a couple of weeks before,the manager stopped by our table no fewer than FIVE times to ask how we were doing. Could he maybe, ummmmm, wait a table or two?? I’m not even in the food industry, but it doesn’t seem to be a difficult conclusion. I’d really love to come back sometime, but my husband is DONE.

You do realize that the waiter would have had to take your drink order, after you sat yourself in the waiter’s section, at a time that the host concluded they wouldn’t be able to serve you as well? If they tell you the wait is only 15 minutes, it’s usually LESS than 15 minutes. You just have a poor attitude. I don’t even work at MELLOW, but I am a server, and I can tell that you must have created a difficult situation from what must have been a really easy one.
