The company began franchising in 1994. Roland Dickey, Jr., was placed as CEO in 2006. QSR Magazine listed Dickey’s Barbecue Pit as one of the “Best Franchise Deals” in 2012. National Restaurant News also awarded Dickey’s Barbecue Pit a spot on their “Top 10 Chain Growth.”
In 2015, the company began using a data collection service called Smoke Stack to try to improve customer traffic by monitoring sales figures.
