Charley’s Grilled Subs was founded by current CEO Charley Shin in 1986. Shin grew up working in his mother’s Korean/American restaurant, but a trip to New York resulted in Charley discovering the classic Philly Steak submarine sandwich. Shin convinced his mother to sell the restaurant and try something different.

This restaurant chain is known for turning the grill around to face customers, so they can see their food being prepared, rather than hiding it in the kitchen. I recently visited your location at 650 S Grand Ave
Glendora, CA 91740. Found a bug in my lemonade & a hair in my sub will not be returning to this location again disgusting.

Hi I was just previously at Charley’s in the Mall of Louisiana Baton Rouge. The manager (I assume she’s the manager) wearing all black who is of Chinese or Asian decent, blatantly disrespected the man that was standing out front holding the appetizer tray. He is of another descent. He has a strong accent sounding as if he’s from an island or maybe Africa. She really disrespected him in front a lots of people in that mall. It was ridiculous. She basically told him that he had no understanding whatsoever. Constantly. It was wrong and disheartening and something needs to be done!!!! I spoke with employees at the restaurant next door and apparently she does it often. The man also confirmed that she always talks to him in that manner. And what hurts the most is that he’s an elderly man!!!! Quite frankly I’m disappointed that she acted in that way! As a manager she could’ve handled that better!!!

The Oakwood mall location in gretna Louisiana
I ordered through Grubhub and listed the allergies of the items I couldn’t have on the sandwiches. When they came the sandwiches had both items all over both sandwiches. I notified the location and was told they would get the order started to replace it. I am also diabetic and had already taken my med and was waiting for the food. I was also told the GM would call. Well it is now 6:41pm I placed the original order at 2:30p and the redo order at 3:30p and still don’t have it and the restaurant closed!!!!! Grub hub was also notified! I will not be orderzfrlm them again but them to LIE and tell me the driver had picked up the redo order at 530p and lying about that is so wrong!!!! To do that to some one they knew was diabetic and had take. Mess and could cause health issues to do this is detrimental to that person!

Your associate was very racist and rude towards my wife who is hispanic I am a disabled US Army veteran, he was so hostile it made my wife very very uncomfortable we go to this location every week and never have ran into issues until last night Mar 6 at 18:28 Employee number 004303 I am very disappointed in this issue it is wrong and inappropriate we have been married for almost 15 years she has been through a lot while I would be deployed more so then I have. If your employees are racist and agents latinos then they should not be representing your company on a military base I want this employee to be disciplined for his actions and if it happens again I will be contacting the base commander and an attorney for legal actions against this employee

It was at 1828 hr on Mar 6 at Hill AFB UT white male 6 ft 5 working with an female associate named Amanda my wife approached him to place an order when he was rude to her and short and asking for my Starcard and her ID acting like she stoled my wallet and had no purpose being on a military base. I was in the background in a wheelchair as I am disabled from a combat deployment with the US Army she felt very uncomfortable and called me over she is hispanic this issue is very inappropriate. like I said we are regular customers who go there every week and never had any issues with anyone else. I would like this issue to be resolved.

I ordered a sub @ store 00190 @ Walden Galleria in Buffalo NY on June 30 2018 and the cashier (in the receipt named) wilson r was very rude. Sent e-mails with pics to head office and seems that they don’t care because until now I didn’t get a response, I just called and the only option is to leave a message, let’s see if they respond. If minimum wage is the problem for the employees to treat customer in a bad way (guy move on a go to another place for a job).

I am a employe at charley’s. it’s good philly steaks but the managers are not giving disable people a chance when they work for charley’s. i been discrimated aganist charley’s philly steak. the manager is giving me low hours & i am making a lot of money for the company. this is how charley’s works. if the company does not make their amount of money the empoly does not get paid much. so to the point. charletaking advantage of the employes. if charley’s gives you only 2 gays to work don’t bother to work cause charley’s is making a lot of money on the weekends & the employe is not making a lot from the hard work they put in. charley’s starts you off at $7.25 a hour. no one wants to work for minumim wage. it’s not worth your time & effort.

I used to work for Charleys store # 643 the owner their Cornell Irons and his girlfriend Vida Manning’s. After I left the owner started sending me harassing and threatening text messages and now I’m hearing from old coworkers that he is slandering me and my girlfriend to current new hires. It was a good place to work in tell he went psycho that I was going to be working a second job

So my girlfriend and I went to woodbine shopping center and I decided to give this place a try as the menu looked decent. I placed my order when my order was ready I told the person making it that they had forgotten some of the things that were in the picture on the menu. After going and sitting down I noticed that it was not at all what I wanted nor was it what I ordered. So I took it back to get it fixed and was told that I was wrong and that’s what I ordered. I told manager(not sure if he was the owner or what) that I ordered what was pictured and my order was not even close. He began to get rude with me and told me to basically go away. Of course I refused that and told him he needs to make the customer happy or I’d be contacting head office. He told me he will call them much to my surprise he had called the security staff when they arrived they laughed about the case because it was so childish and told me I was right but they can’t make him refund my food. So I apologized for getting angry and he said he will give me a refund because I said sorry. He was refusing to give me a refund because he didn’t like me or I’d offended him. After getting my refund he approached my girlfriend and I 2 or 3 times in the food court to continue the issue after we had already moved seats trying to get away from him. After I told him to go away and he didn’t I took a picture of the restaurant name and he freaked out and told me to not take pictures of him I informed him I hadn’t taking his picture. He began to yell and cause a scene again so we moved again and he proceeded to call security again to have me removed from the mall. They didn’t even come back because they knew I was trying to avoid an issues all together. He even we as far as telling them I came over the counter (into the staff area) the first time they came to check out what was going on. It is people like this man that will completely ruin your businesses name. I will never be going back to anyone of your locations and know you’d be better off without this man. He was arguing with another customer after we left no idea what about but he just causes issues and uses security in his favour. This happend on Sunday November 12 2017 at about 4 pm appx. I’m not one to take things this far but he is ruining your company name and integrity. Over worked in the food industry for many years and know when I’m wrong and also know what is not right. In this case I was not wrong and he didn’t not treat me accordingly, properly, farley or even professionally. His name started with an A and he had what looked to be a supervisors uniform on. If like to see something happen as he tried to have me removed from the mall (extremely embarrassing) and threatens to call the police.

I Truley Love Charlie’s Sub And GREAT fan Of The Subs and recommended to different people . I went into store (Mall) CoolsSprings TN . Or Opry Mills (Whichever One) Area In July 14, 2017 . I Called My Account To Check On My Account For My Personal Needs Rep Says “The Company Waited Until August 2017) To Run My Card And Put My Account To Negative. An I’m Extremely Pissed Cause Me Being Customer I Paid Got My Food And Month Later Stating That The Company Run My Card . And NO IM NOT SAYING TO GET FREE FOOD . The Big Deal Its You Guys Waited For 14.00 Or Whatever The Cost Of The Meal It Added To 55.00 Because You Guys Waited Until AUGUST 2017 AND NOW I HAVE OVERDRAFT FEE AND IM EXTREMELY PISSED I HAVE NO ROOM TO LOSE ANY MONEY BECAUSE OF YOU GUYS F**K UP . I visited the location in sanford florida at the mall. And the store location is extremely dirty and the Employee who took my order was not very pleasant to deal with. She had a severe attitude with me and all the other customers behind me. She rushed me and has very poor customer service skills. We won’t be going back there because of that. Nobody deserves to be treated the x way she was treating people. She did not have a name badge on. She’s very young.skinny with red hair, Face covered in freckles/acne, pierced nose/eyebrow. I tried contacting that store to speak to a manager no luck. It’s a fax phone line.

Hello, I work for Charleys in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The manager of the store is ringing up people for a Large $1.00 lemonade for the promotion that we have with the sweet heat sandwich but its only supposed to be a regular. Then one of your trained supervisora on Saturday cuts up a whole box of mushroom, green peppers, tomatoes and 2 pans of onions and put a Tuesday date but we can never do prep for the day that we work because we don’t have any items. Then she refried the fries and waters down the lemonade to where customers complain.

This complaint is about Charley’s Subs location 6780 Perimeter Loop Rd, Dublin, OH 43017.

The owner does not honor the agreement on the punch card that people get at the restaurant. He uses a sharpie to black out the section that says “regular sub sandwich” on each card and instead gives you a discount for only a small sub. This type of tactic looks like he is cuts corners and rips off customers. Does not look like an honest business practice. This makes me question what else he is doing to save money at the cost of quality and customer retention. I remember one time a worker tried to give me a discount for the regular size but the owner pushed him aside and changed my order on the screen to a small sandwich discount right in front of me. If he thinks customers are fools and don’t pay attention, he is wrong.

I was previously employed at the Charley’s in Beaumont, Texas. The manager there was extremely rude to his employees even telling most of them theyet where the worst employee he ever had. I quit because it’s completely unprofessional and that manager is not upholding the values of Charley’s. We had a manager from Ohio come and show us how to do everything before he left. The moment he left the manager said screw that. He has been cross contaminating the chicken, beef, and fries. They rarely if ever change their gloves. They are openly rude to employees. They have been seen dropping buns on the floor and using them anyways for samples. All of these things only scream that he is unfit for his position and has no idea what he is doing.

Visited your Leeds AL Grand River mall location. Horrible. The fries cold and rubbery had to take back. The sandwich Polly made hardly anything on it and tasted like stall bread and the Mayo tasted like it was out of date. Your staff inattentive and acted as if it was a burden to serve the customer. The young woman was rude and Curt. Visit was today April 4, 2017 attached is photos of Abandoned counter, and trash over the tray areas…. Copy of my receipt. I will not paying your facility again
.the employees were in back you could hear laughter. Also the two young men were commenting on a couple of young women walking by in hijabs the Caucasian said hope they ain’t terrorist the other said they should back where they belong very racist! The management at Charleys in Johnson City Tn is ridiculous. I question the competence of any company who cannot get W2 forms sent out by the Jan 31 deadline. This is NOT a new deadline Charleys!!! Is there a lack of education there? A lack of competence? Where is the problem and what will be done to fix it???? The IRS is being notified so maybe they can figure it out.

To whom, this may concern. I visited one of your location on today December 24,16. The location address is Charley’s GrilliSubs, Store 00563, 744 Brookwood, Al 36209. I am writing, to inform you of the behavior on a employee Tomeka ID 510002#1. One other employee made a mistake by fixing the wrong sandwich, she Tomeka then began to cursing and using such vulgar language in front of numerous customers. Her behavior was irate, she walk out cursing, then she Tomeka returned and started requesting to fight the other employee. Another employee came from the back and asked the gentleman, of whom she was arguing with to leave. I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism, this is not acceptable behavior. We were told by someone whom worked in the food court. That if management was contacted nothing would be done. My hope at then end of the day is, this isn’t the type person you want to represent your company.

I’m writing this hoping to reach one decent person in this company. My daughter Aliyah was an employee at Charley’s in the colony square mall in Zanesville, Oh. She was supposed to be paid like all other employees on Saturday Oct. 8th 2016 but because she quit the man in charge of that store named Troy doesn’t feel she deserved to paid on time. He made remarks to other employees about not wanting to pay Aliyah and another girl named Saddie. I tried to send an email to your company as I feel this is not right only to receive an email back from Troy explaining to me my daughter wasn’t paid for not turning in her uniform. That was incorrect because my daughter turned her uniform into Jaycee. He was aware of that but is being nasty fir whatever reason. The other girl Saddie was finally paid today but he told Jaycee to tell my daughter that because I tried to contact corporate that she can wait and he has 14 days to pay her! Well that is also incorrect the check better be dated for October 8 th 2016 since that was payday. This is my last attempt in trying to resolve this matter as it has caused major problems with my daughters bills bouncing because of his childishness. If something is not done with this man to resolve this matter we will just seek legal assistance. Thank you

I was employed by Charles in the Washington Crown Center. I got a person I knew a job who was a recoverying addict. I love to help people. I wanted to give him a chance. I was a manager there. Vearn hired him my GM. He stole from the drawer on a day I left at 7.00pm Nick closed this 17 year old kid thy made a manager. He also stole yesterday on October 8th. I was watching him on register and I left to top 2 sandwiches and walk frys over. I heard the register slam and Jamie my Boss seen him because he was sitting outside in the food court. It is 10 feet away from the counter. We caught him red handed. As Jamie was walking back in from break the guy Frank was on the phone walking outside to smoke a cigarette. He said I’ll be out in one minute. Obviously making a drug deal. He comes to work High and the owners don’t do anything. Allot of employees smoke weed there amoung other things. I Told Jamie to pull the drawer and he wouldn’t let me pull the drawer. This is Sunday the 8th my boss fired both me and Frank. This is the message I get in the morning “Anthony. Its Charles OBrien. I regret to inform you that you are being released of your duties at Charleys due to cash shortages on your shift. Please return your chef coat and hat when you pick up your last paycheck. Good luck.” On both these days These were not my shifts It was Nicks shift I left early and It was Jamies shift yesterday my number is 724-754-XXXXX I will be calling tommrow. This is fired on hear say he said she said.

Fayette Mall lexington ky needs help. they need to learn how to treat their team members equally. i was employed by Charleys and i never had any training but caught on quick so within 3 weeks i received a raise of $8.75. within that time a new crew member was hired on with no exprerience making $9.20 and making more hours than myself. This kid decided to let everyone know how much he made. they also hired a man named marlando but put the name juice on his name badge as a nickname. in my experience not very professional i was written up 2 times for personal issues i seeemed to be the only one getting written up was it because i am hispanic and the only hispanic working there i left because i was treated unfairly
