I started working for Zoes in 2010. This job was my life. We started from ground zero. No employees. No tables chairs or anything inside. I was there first hire. I developed a family relationship with the owners. My pay at this time was $11.45hr. As time went along my responsibilities grew. That is when the problems started. I went from a line cook to ordering produce, ordering Sysco, doing inventory as well as opening the hot side for the morning line cook. Of course on top of normal duties such as garbage, cleaning up after all employees and putting of of all produce and Sysco. Since 2016 I have also been the only person who preps ALL food. ONLY ME! Im pissed off because the owner has used me for years as his personal goldmine. All recipes at this location was not Zoes. Every recipe that Zoes had was altered by me. The owner gave me approval. It made more people come and eat at his restaurant so there was no problem in that. I felt very proud of what I was doing. I started off a line cook and now was in charge of everything in the kitchen. Well I quit 3 weeks ago. Why? The owner has lied to me for years. I never took a vacation ever. He told me it was not offered. I never received any extra compensation for the job I was doing. I was the highest paid employee that worked for them besides his family members that worked there. I asked for a paid vacation for years. The owner told me they do not offer that at this location. Which was a lie! His family member that works there receives paid vacations regularly. I left making $15hr. The line cooks only served food and made $13hr. Crazy right? I know! I had so much more responsibility. I have tried to email corporate with no help. Have been trying for almost 1 month. Now im about to go public! I feel like I wasted all theses years with a company that works you like a slave and does not pay you for it. Im teaching out now because if someone does not contact me from corporate, I am going public and going to try and sue the company. I have already spoken to a lawyer. So I know for a fact I have a case. My experience at Zoes has been horrible. Im very unhappy.

Our family has eaten Zoes more often than not. We decided to use them for a small party. I went in 5 days or so prior, discussed what would be best, and scheduled a pick up time a couple of hours before the party. That all went smoothly and the woman that took the order was helpful. However, on the day I picked up the food, my order was waiting for me on a table. I checked it, and it was missing the main part: the kabobs, the pasta salad and the sauces! I asked the woman there about it, and she said this was all that was on the order. I refuted her, and eventually she offered to make some kabobs for us. I was already running late to meet the people setting up the dining area. The kabobs were prepared while we waited. I had to ask her again for the pasta salad. We got home (finally and late) with our order, and found there were none of the sauces we ordered! Today I checked by bank card statement, and found where there were 3 charges on my account. When I picked up the order, she said she was only going to charge me for the items she originally had sacked up for us. Yet, there was not only the charge for those things, but also another major charge, so my order was more than what it was supposed to be, even if it had been prepared correctly. When I called the store, the manager spent more time making excuses and asking me questions I would not be able to answer then being polite. The tone was that this situation was somehow my fault. Sounding put out, he went through the litany of things he needed to do to figure out the problem. I said at the end of our conversation, “you do realize that this is the restaurants mistake, not mine.” Sad I even had to say that. He called back in afternoon saying he had discovered the mistake, explaining there were three orders made that day under the name Mary, and they charged me for another persons order! Still doesn’t not connect all the issues that went wrong. He credited me that amount (for the other ladies order), but there was NO APOLOGY. There was nothing said about the lack of the entire order (no sauces, not the right amount of pita, etc), or that the order was entirely messed up and I had to wait while they threw some Kababs together and got my pasta salad together.Yes, I expected a sincere apology, and maybe some kind of coupon, or credit of all the food, so that I would feel like a valued customer who the restaurant wants back. Furthermore, I called corporate office, after spending way too much time trying to find a number, and got a voice mail. When I went to leave a message, the recording said, “this mailbox cannot take anymore messages.” This is horrible customer service! When planning a special occasions, one relies on the food being hassle free and delicious. I ended up apologizing to the guests for the lack of sauce and pita, and felt stressed because it was all late. Had I not checked my credit card statement, I guess I would have just paid for another woman named Mary’s party! This is outrageous on so many levels.

Tried to order lunch at the Franklin, TN store on line and the site was having issues. Charged me 6 times for lunch. Called the store and the man that answered was rude saying “we can’t control what the site does.” I’m sorry isn’t it their site? Promised a call back…3 days still waiting. My place of employment has 150 employees and we all usually order 2 times a week. Well we won’t any more because I can’t control what others do. How about a big bag of DUH?

I ordered a late lunch today and had it delivered through DoorDash as I work in a law firm and am in depositions all day. I was about 30% finished with my gyro and bit into something very hard. I pulled from my mouth A SCREW. This is a small screw, maybe about 1/4 inch long. I have pictures of it with the food still on it. I have picture of my work area with the food and screw sitting next to it. It feels as though I have possibly chipped one of my right side back bottom teeth. I haven’t been able to look yet, but I can feel it with my tongue. I am not able to call the store right now because like I said, I am busy with work issues. Please advise via e-mail ASAP

Found a pretty large fish bone in my salmon pita yesterday. Luckily I was eating slow enough that I didn’t choke. I spoke to someone, who I perceive was the Manager, she told me that the salmon comes in cubes and they aren’t picking through it. Wonder if that will change if you have a casualty in your restaurant. Seriously??? a piece of cake or a cookie?

I was just informed that the Zoe’s catering vehicle has been picked up and catering will continue but employees must use their own car. Does the company plan on paying for mileage on personal cars? What is corporates plan to reimburse these employees?

What has happened to your food? EVERYTHING is different and not good. The rice is so bad my six year old grandson and daughter couldn’t eat it. Threw it in the trash. the chicken salad isn’t as good. Don’t get me started on how bad the chicken kabob dinners arr. Even the Greek salads are different. My husband left the store tonight with out his food because of several things he told the girl “they’ve messed this place up”. Young lady said I know. Corporate should look back and see what made this company great. They’ve obviously forgotten. I know of several families that have given up on your comoany. DO YOU CARE?
Pam Berry says
I do not know what you have done to Zoe’s. It is absolutely horrible anymore and has been for awhile. The food is completely different. My daughter bought some rice and three it out it was so bad. The chicken salad is not as good. The chicken kabob dinners are beyond horrible. Even the Greek salads are different. My husband went there tonight and left with no food. He told person at the window “y’all have really messed this place up”. She was sweet and said I know. So you not care what your customers have come to expect from your company. We’re not going there anymore. It’s not worth the waste. Someone should go back to the drawing board and remember what made this company great! I

Hello,
My name is Rolanda Goldsborough, my Cell# is 770-895-XXXXX. I ate at Store#162 today in Atlant, GA at 12:25PM for lunch. The Cashier by the name of Tiara charged my VISA Debit card twice for $28.58 in error. I called the store and spoke to Tassandra and she told me that she will have to speak to the General Manager, Chad Friedensohn, 470-779-XXXXX about this. I asked that they take care of this asap/today. They are telling me that they can’t take care of it until Saturday, 6/9 or Monday 6/11. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I will not be eating at Zoe’s Kitchen anymore. I do not appreciate this not being treated as a priority. I work hard for my money.
Thanks,

Please bring back the spinach rollups with regular salsa!!! That is my go to dish at Zoe’s.
Yes, I’ve tried the spinach piadina with the red sauce they offered and it’s just not the same. I know you have added some great new dishes but this is the one I crave. Bummed in Texas

What’s the red thing above you sweet offer to let one share their mistreatment by your employees? It appears to be the tip of a devils tail! No wonder the workers are completely rude. It’s gotten worse and worse since I started coming when you fist came to GA.
They sure don’t worry about losing their jobs!! So, maybe I just won’t complain!
Jesus said to do good to those who hate you, and despitefully use you.
Jesus said unless they repent, they will be called least in the kingdom of heaven and that’s only if it’s a mild offense. Otherwise, I guess they will be meeting up with that devil! His tail still seems to be above this box. Thanks, but no thanks! I’ll leave it up to God Almighty!
