Vons is a supermarket chain that operates supermarkets under the Vons and Pavilion banners.
Vona was founded by Charles Von der Ahe as Von’s Groceteria in 1906 in Los Angeles, California.
By 1928 Vons had grown to 87 stores.
Vons has gone through several acquisitions and is owned today by Safeway Inc., a leading U.S. grocery chain.
Safeway acquired an ownership stake in Vons in 1988 as part of the sale of most of its supermarkets in southern California and southern Nevada. Safeway acquired full control of the company in 1997 and has since then operated Vons as a subsidiary.
In a 2018 survey, Vons beat out popular grocery chains, like Whole Foods, and was named best place to shop by vegans and vegetarians, according to Businessweek.
The supermarket chain has 193 stores in California and another 20 locations in Nevada.
While some Vons locations are closing, new stores are still being opened, such as this one in Camarillo, California.
A store employee who was assaulted three times in three months was fired after he asked about workers’ compensation to see a therapist in 2023. He has filed a lawsuit against Vons.
Vons maintains a corporate office in Pleasanton, California.

THE SECURITY GUARDS SAY THEY CANT DO ANYTHING TO PREVENT SHOPLIFTERS.. THEY NEED SECURITY THAT IS ALLOWED TO TO STOP PEOPLE FOR STEALING SO THE PEOPLE WHO DO PAY FOR THERE GROCERIES CAN GET WHAT THEY NEED INSTEAD OF LOOKING FOR THE PRODUCTS THAT ARE OUT OF STOCK BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL STOLEN….

I am disabled and Vons is the only major grocery store I am able to access in my power chair. I wasn’t able to go in my power chair yesterday because their doing construction at the only intersection and access point that I can normally take to even shop at Vons.
My aide had to take me in the car to do my shopping and when he went to get the handicapped shopping cart for me Vons employees told him both the one’s they had were sent off for repair.
Vons apparently thinks it’s fine to take away a persons only means to shop for their groceries. I also had shopping to do at Trader Joe’s next door. I went there and used their handi-cart to shop at Traders and finish my shopping at Vons.
I ended up being harrassed by a Trader Joes worker who followed me to Vons and stood there waiting for me to shop. He approached me 10 min. in one of the aisles at Vons telling me I have to give him the cart back after I already said I would return it myself when I’m finished.
I asked him to give me another 5 minutes. He went back to the store angry and got another man to come in as I was grabbing my receipt from check out.
That man was at least friendly and walked with us to their store next door where the car we came in was parked in a handicapped space.
I explained to the man that I have been completely blocked from every access point. From the construction on the road to the store. Literally cutting off every option for me. I had no other way and it’s not like I’m going to steal the thing.
I purchased from both stores. I’m sick and tired of the inhumane ways handicapped people are treated. Imagine only having a single shopping cart for all your shoppers. Yet it’s fine to only have 1 cart for disabled people. Then harrass them for using that cart because your too cheap to get another.
Vons is a much larger store and should have at least 4 or 5 handi-carts and keep them regularly checked out to make sure their running well. I’m extremely dissapointed in both stores and the state in which we are treated to begin with.
Vons should have had temporary handi-carts put in immediately or made the purchase for additional carts.
Sprouts is the only store properly equipped to address the situation. Perhaps both stores should take a note from them. They have 5 carts for their store, half the size of Vons.

Well just to let you know n ow Amanda those electric wheel chairs are pretty pricey and they get stolen a bunch of the time.

Everyone should read this because what I am about to say is important for customers, workers, and those who want to work at Pavilions 7 Peninsula Center Rolling Hills Estates CA, 90274. I was a worker at this Pavilions. The Store number is 2233 for 7 years. I started working there in 2014. This store then hired harassers and put them in management positons. They constantly spread lies about me and defamed my character. They did this to prevent me from being promoted. I was forced to to transfer to another vons but they still harassed me through social media. Me and my friend are residents of Palos Verdes and shop in the mall that Pavilions is located. The management knows that. While I was working at the new store the management opened a instagram account with pictures that I did not know about calling me lies and causing defamation of character by sending it to my family and friends. Before this when ever me and my friend hang in the mall the employees would take pictures of me and my friend. It turns out this is where the photos are going. Me and my family got instagram to shut it down but then the management took the false lies and defamation to Human Resource to Retaliate. Gregg Rutkin at Human Resource is awful and terrible. I gave him evidence through my union rep and he hides it and pretends he did not get it. I quit Vons/Pavilions and went to a new job and I got promoted to the postion I wanted that the Management at Pavilions would not let me have. After one month at that job I was promoted.
These harassing management would be Marla she spread lies about me to her own workers, Chrissy she took pictures of me and sent people to take pictures of me to help put photos on instagram, Steven Benavidez he starts rumors and spreads them to the management, workers, Human Resource and he sends people to go into the parking lot to find me because he is a stalker, Mike Durand he takes pictures of me and my friend while we try to enjoy our time, the Starbucks girl Natalie calls me things that are not true and believes the lies that Steven tells her, Matt he believes Stevens lies and he goes into the parking lot to find me because Steven told him to and Robert Moeller, like Mike Durand he also takes pictures of me and my friend when we try to enjoy our time.
My advice if you work here is that if you are harassed or bullied from the management at this pavilions or from any worker at pavilions than you should hire an attorney and sue the store. Do not go to Human Resource or Corporate just sue them. No matter the evidence you give Human Resource they will keep these employees around and do not punish the harassers and bullies only you. I can not got to the Peninsula Mall because they are still working there when they should not. If you do not have the money to hire an attorney you can always go to the Department of fair Employment and Housing. You are able to sue Pavilions and the Vons company through them. I highly suggest looking for work at Ralphs or anything under the Kroger company.

Pavilions 7 Peninsula center Rolling Hills Estates Ca 90274 has terrible workers. I was not a customer at Pavilions. Me and my friend like to get lunch at the inka wasi nearby and then shop around the mall. We never shop in pavilions. I have a friend who use to work at Pavilions and they said that the supervisor Steven is going around spreading a rumor to his workers that I am stalking him. That is a total lie and he is defaming me. Me and my friend want to enjoy our time together. Steven is just trying to ruin it.

The Von!s ob 3rd and Vermont has the worst, racist Mexican employees ever. They are only nice and helpful to hispanic customers and are extremely rude, disrespectful and dismissive to Caucasian, African-American and Asian customers. They have 98% latino employees who are mean and racist. Worst customer service I have ever seen, unless you’re Latino.

I shop at Von’s in Nipomo, Ca. A significant amount of our family budget goes to your corporation to purchase food. For the past year, I have been impressed with the health & safety measures taken during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the genius measures was the check-out line queue that kept people at a reasonable distance and sensed when and where the next customer could check-out. This past Friday, 4/16/21, I was disappointed to see that this measure was removed. What resulted is crowding and a rather chaotic way that people now line up for check-out, pouring into product aisles when the line got too long. I’m not sure why this store was instructed to get rid of the automated line-keeping but I think it was a wonderful addition for Covid AND non-Covid times. Thank you for listening to my opinion.

I shop at store #2344 351 W Felicita ave Escondido ca 92025. I’ve had many bad experiences at this location but today was a straw that broke the camels back. A simple three item purchased turned into a 30 minute waste of time. I understand Covid
Protocol but that does not excuse poor customer service. At 12 o’clock noon, with only two checkers open and a line of 20+ people, you would think the manager would’ve done something to remedy this situation. The checkers have absolutely no sense of urgency and have lack luster attitudes towards customer service. I will most definitely rethink about spending my hard earned money in establishments like this.

He would not social distance and coughed close to us. He would not leave us alone when we refused his help. Both me and my friends were wearing face mask so hopefully we are safe from Steven. Me and my friends did not buy anything because we were afraid the items we had in the cart are infected and just left the store.

LOL ok did you and your friends all go home and get stoned… and then decide to give this poor guy Steven bad reviews….
Sakura Nakamura says
I do not think any of these people are stoned or are all friends. These reviews sound like real customers and all of these reviews sound true about Steven. I was a victim of Steven.
Here is what happened to me:
This happened on 12|18|21 but I am writing this today because I had a hard time believing that I am a victim of harassment and racism at this store.
I walk in the store and the worker tells me to put my face mask over my nose but the way they say it is: “we have been in a pandemic for over a year because of you Asians so you should know to have your face mask cover your nose”.
Right after I told a manager and I expected them to say “that is unacceptable and I will go talk to them” but no their attitude towards me was that I deserved the harassment and racist remarks.
I felt humiliated, ashamed and embarrassed by these workers and being in the store. I left after talking to the manager because I felt very uncomfortable in the store.
Pavilions is not a friendly grocery store to shop at. They especially are not friendly to Asians. I suggest not shopping here.
I got the name of the manager that I spoke to who allowed this harassments and racism. The managers name is Steven but sadly I did not get the employee who did the harassment and racism.
I will not be coming back to this store but please have your company discipline this workers because harassment and racism is not acceptable and wrong.
I wrote all of this to the Pavilions customer service on their website.

I am dismayed to hear that Vons will no longer use in house drivers and vehicles to deliver groceries. I experienced this first hand last evening when my online groceries were delivered by a Door Dash employee. My groceries were in the trunk of his car — no refrigerated truck for my meat and dairy items. I called the local store where I was told that this is the way of the future. During Covid — I have been glad to have delivery, since my local Vons store had 6 of their clerks out with Covid at one time!. I have enlisted several other folks to use the delivery service as well, and have stuck with it, even though routinely it is not the greatest experience, but tolerable. I will no longer be using the service and will no longer use my local Vons — I really hate that you have decided once again to look at profits over the customer experience. Vons has got to be one of the businesses who actually made more money during Covid, even if your low margin delivery business increased. If a grocery store were to actually figure out how to do delivery well, they would have a gold mine. And please, do not reply to me with some boiler plate email response about how much you value me as a Vons customer
Deborah says
I placed an online grocery order for delivery on Sunday 1-24 at 130pm. When I placed the order I was given only one choice for delivery, tonight between 8-9pm. Not a time I chose, but the only option that was given to me. So I accepted that. At 920pm I got online to find out when I should expect my order. I waited 20 minutes to be connect to a chat operator. After she went to “pull my order” I was told my order was cancelled. She didn’t know who cancelled the order, or when. She said what I was seeing on my bank account was a hold on $193.00 which could last up to 72 hours. She said I would need to place another order. So that would mean an additional hold on an additional $193.00. She offered no help, had no information other than the order was arbitrarily cancelled. When I asked questions she referred me to the store that would have been fulfilling the order. She didn’t know anything. She offered no help. To whomever at Vons might see this, apologies are meaningless without a fix. None was offered. Apparently it is Vons procedure to take an order, hold up someones money, cancel said order, not notify the customer that their order is cancelled, let the customer contact Vons to try to get status on the order, have the person on the help line not have any help to offer, suggest placing another order without confirmation that an additional amount of money would not also be held up, not offer any suggestion as to when or it the order would be completed by Vons, not know how to contact anyone in charge of online ordering and the process. She might as well of said “eff you. We’re gonna hold up your money, not deliver your order, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Complete lack of customer service. I did however ask her one last question. Did she know where I would be getting my groceries tomorrow? Her response was to place another order. I replied that that was incorrect. The correct answer is Ralphs. So disappointing because I have really liked shopping at Vons for many years. Decades. All I needed was some communication early enough to either postpone my order to when there was time for Vons to get it done, or allow me to cancel and make other plans earlier in the day. But all I got was an empty, scripted “sorry.”

Went to Vons off Highway 111 in Palm Springs yesterday (October 11) looking for Turkey for Canadian Thanksgiving which is today October 12th. The meat manager told us there was no Turkey and wouldn’t be until November. I was a little taken aback by that….people like Turkey all year long and not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I would have thought Vons Palm Springs especially because of the usually large number of Canadians here (not this year covid 2020) would have had a few turkey’s or turkey rolls on site. Cheers

Just want to give feedback about Haris/Cashier at 7895 Highland Village Place, San Diego CA 92129.
I visited this store Tuesday 8/4/2020 and witnessed the best customer service Haris did to the customer before me. There’s an elder lady who tries to get WORD OF THE DAY free Turkey but has issues with her vons club card, Haris assists with patience, respect, professional and friendly. He says “it’s OK, I get that item free too, so let me use my phone number and give mine to you”. That’s very nice of him, he sacrificed his free item and wanted to give it to that senior customer. Unbelievable…
I also witnessed several times that store employees under Sarah/Store Director’s lead, all have courtesy and flexibility to assist customer’s needs. One time I also saw they make an exception exchange for the customer who has a coffee machine broke and cannot use POD but needs regular ground coffee. Those are excellent customer service and are what we customers expected. Please keep that good job. I may go to this Vons instead of the other locations from now on.

Today was without question the worst experience I’ve ever had with a grocery store. Spent over 45 minutes in the pick-up area of the Pavilions Newport Coast, treated as a troublemaker rather than a loyal customer who spends more than a thousand dollars a year at various Pavilion stores. As a former VP of Marketing for a major US corporation, I was appalled at the shabby unfriendly treatment. I received most of my ordered items reasonably quickly, but had concerns about some items and their prices, which did not match my downloaded invoice. While the refrigerated items on my list got warm and soft in the mid-day, we waited and waited for someone from Pavilions to come out and help straighten out what seemed to be a discrepancy in item sizes and prices. When I asked to speak to the manager, a woman — who was obviously not a manager — finally came out and started arguing when I tried to get a clarification. When I pointed to an item and told her that the price she was telling me what not what the price was indicated on the Pavilion Website, her reply was that the price on that specific item varied at different Pavilions. Which was not true. At that point I just said the hell with it and drove home. Really sorry to say goodbye to Pavilions after many many years.

Good Morning,
My husband and I have been self employed and owners of a maintenance supply business for over 30 years. We supply disinfectants & sanitizers to many of our customers. We are providers for essential businesses and clearly understand practicing safety within our community. But in return I would appreciate the same respect, from my regular grocery store, while shopping for my weekly groceries.
I just returned from Von’s Grocery Store, on Atlanta and Magnolia, in Huntington Beach. While they had marked their isles with one way directions and a safe system for checking out, when we arrived at our checker, the two shoppers, ahead of us, were not wearing a mask or gloves.
The checker did not disinfected the conveyor belt or the key pad, prior to us putting our food on the belt. The key pad was covered with a plastic bag, but not disinfected before we used it. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer next to the key pad.
When I confronted the checker, about not sanitizing the belt, she explained that their policy is to only disinfect every hour.
A grocery store is a breeding ground for Covid19. All grocery stores and any other store, restaurants should be required to disinfect their conveyor belts, counter tops and key pads, after each shopper. Especially if they are not requiring shoppers to wear masks and gloves.
I understand there are some people, not taking this life, threatening pandemic seriously but there are many elderly folks and people with underlying health issues, in our community, that still need to shop for their weekly groceries.
While we move forward to open our communities, safely, and in phases, the only way we can avoid Covid19 flare ups, is if all grocery stores, their management, employees and their SHOPPERS are required to wear at least a mask while shopping. Preferably a mask and gloves and stores are required to following disinfecting CDC guidelines.
My concern is that my local grocery store, is not protecting me, as I shop and support them & their employees.
Sincerely,
JoAnn Dickinson

Dear Ms. Dickinson,
As a senior myself (who does not live in your city but another California beach city), I have seen similar issues in my local Von’s and Safeway stores (Santa Monica). I genuinely thank you for your concern. It is certainly appreciated!
It seems to me that there is not enough concern in regard to Covid-19 with management of Safeway and Vons stores in general. My grocery on Montana Ave has set up a senior-a.m.-shopping- hour program and employees and customers do wear masks, but again as in your case, they are not wiping the belts after each customer, nor are they disinfecting key pads following either. It is sad that there seems to be an in-general disregard in terms of distancing with employees and customers also.
Since I have only just recovered from a bout of serious pnumonia which lasted for over a month and took just as long to heal from, I am fearful of contracting the virus and possibly being killed from it as I have not yet met my first and only grandson who lives in Europe.
Thank you for caring and speaking for me, Jo Ann! Safeway and Vons should care more!

This particular Vons Store located at 5922 Edinger Ave Huntington Beach, CA 92649 is always unorganized, with rude employees including manager behaving as though a customer question is a bother. All other Vons locations I visit are very well run. The Edinger location has been a disaster for years.
My main concern is this; 2-3 customers do not need to be standing around waiting at the deli indefinitely. Customers do co=operate wearing masks and practice social distancing. All grocery stores should be providing service with properly staffed departments, and working with a sense of urgency to get customers in and out quickly so they are not standing in lines with prolonged exposure times to other customers.
As a secondary concern and experience trying to enter the store as the automatic doors open i was greeted by an employee who said it was an exit, to please go to the other set of doors to enter. Maybe if all the clutter on the doors was eliminated, one set of doors at eye level can read with red lettering across the doors, EXIT and on the other set of doors, in green lettering read ENTRANCE. Its pretty simple. Target does this. Its crystal clear.
Asking to speak to a manager regarding both the under staffed deli department and the door signage, the manager showed a sign outside on the ground sign EXIT. Who looks on the ground? Regarding the deli department: The one deli employee was polite, nice and doing the best they could, while other customers approached the deli and left. The manager said there should be another person, maybe they’re on break, but its slow, then added, “you can always go to another store”. In addition, an employee standing near the manager asked me, “are you alright?” It’s not hard to implement call in orders for pick-up at the deli like restaurants have.
I turned around and walked out going to another grocery store. Vons in my opinion has no regard for efficiency in this experience or on other days. with continued bad service and extended wait times in lines which is contributing to prolonged exposure to each other. The lackadaisical attitude by the manager and one employee making condescenting, unprofessinal remarks, and bad management is a disservice to the community.

Today 4/8/2020 I went to my local Pavilions located in the Platt Village, West Hills. I appreciated the social distance monitoring, however, the security guard at the door was wearing zero protection. I told him he should have his nose and mouth covered to protect us from him. He told me he didn’t need it. Then in the store they were constantly announcing to maintain social distancing. When I got to the register I noticed the cashier wearing a mask and gloves and was behind a plexiglass shield. The bagger had nothing on. I said that I didn’t want that bagger handling my groceries. Then I saw the manager also with no protection. I told her she should be ashamed of herself for not covering at least her mouth. She told me it was optional. When I said that we all need to do our part and she should lead by example to all of the employees, she told me I was rude and that after 20 plus years of shopping at that location I was no longer permitted in the store and I’m banned. You need to do something immediately to reprimand her rudeness and alack of professionalism during these trying times. I have already reached out to the Mayors office, our local congressman and the local news. I’m 62 years old and I want to feel as safe as possible when shopping for groceries. I truly don’t believe that’s too much to ask.

I visited the Arcadia, CA location on Naomi Ave on March 27, 2020. There was a line up so I got in line outside and waited for my turn to enter the market. As I was waiting an elderly man with a cart started yelling. He was told to get in the back of the line by a Vons employee working the door. The old man said he was already in the store and getting a cart but she said he wasn’t and to get in the back of the line. He is elderly and One of the most vulnerable people to the Covid 19 virus. He really shouldn’t be in public right now and I’m sure would rather be home. The employee should have just allowed him to come in. Furthermore, while at the checkout line the cashier asked if I wanted to purchase a reusable bag I said I already had some which I had on the conveyer belt with my items. I was told she couldn’t touch the bags and I would need to bag it myself. I would’ve been perfectly fine with this until I noticed baggers with gloves on Bagging groceries but only if you purchased the Vons reusable bags. There was a bagger just watching me bag my own items. I left the store but later called the customer service line to verify if it’s true that they cannot bag my items unless it’s with a Vons plastic bag. They said yes it’s true. I then spoke to the manager who also confirmed that only if you purchase the Vons bags will you be helped with bagging your items. So I would need to Pay additional money for bags to be helped. He said yes. He claims it’s for sanitary reasons but I saw that the baggers were wearing gloves. I wasn’t wearing gloves so I had direct contact with all the items I purchased. Now if I did purchase a Vons bag they would have bagged my items. What’s the difference? You’re still wearing gloves and your still touching something I came into direct contact with other than my personal reusable bag which I purchased from that same Vons in January of 2020. Most businesses are not making money right now but grocery stores are making a lot of money right now. If that’s your policy for sanitary reasons then you should be providing reusable bags for free. Vons is just trying to make extra money by forcing patrons to purchase bags From
Their stores. Most stores want you to bring your own bags and because I do you’re not going to help me bag my items. I went to Super A that day and they didn’t have a problem helping me bag my items and neither did the 99 cents only store.

I live in Bishop, Ca. where Vons has had at least one store. Over the past few years I have seen a decline in the maintaining of the grounds, (parking lot, front on building). There are piles of debris all over the parking area. At times there are many living in the parking lot in campers etc.(it doesn’t always feel safe). Fences have been broken and fallen over, scrubs and general landscape looks awful. Most businesses in this small town take pride in how the public sees their business I hope some attention can be made on your behalf. You notice I didn’t complain about the high resort prices we may here! Thanks for reading.

Yelp Review Re:Vons 16450 Beach Blvd Westminster Ca. Please forward to Corporate/Whom it may concern. Thank you.
Went into Vons this evening with my 10 year old daughter. My daughter ended up slipping on some water on Aisle 9. I went to tell a cashier right away who acted unconcerned, didn’t offer an apology, didn’t ask if my daughter was ok. I waited near the water spill for 8 minutes and prevented an elderly woman from slipping on the water that continued to stay there. Finally appx a girl by the name of Samantha showed up and I said “Great that you’re here-my daughter just fell and hurt her knee and an elderly woman almost slipped as well.” She turned to me and gave me the dirtiest look and then growled, “We were just informed!” I said ok but no need to talk so mean to your customer. She then smirked and said “If you have a problem, talk to my manager!” The insult to injury continued when I wasted my time trying to speak with Jackson the store manager who looked like he hated his job too and half listened to me, never asked if my daughter was ok, didn’t offer an ice pack or apologize. He too lacked common decency just like Samantha. In the end Jackson passed us on to Dave, since he himself was not capable of providing basic human understanding and compassion. Unfortunately, the only thing Dave did differently was ask if we wanted to fill out a report. He too did not apologize, nor offer an ice pack, etc. So sad to encounter so many cold hearted and miserable people who lack people skills. Sad, sad, sad. On December 26 I was at Vons around 4:00 PM with a friend of mine and as we were leaving we were attacked by one of the workers at Vons simply over a disagreement. What happened is that the security guard at Vons open the bathroom while I myself was using the restroom and allow the female worker who said she was the manager but as time went on a shoot revealed that she was not the manager to look in there at me and I try to identify someone that was in the bathroom it was not me when I left out of the restroom r I spoke to the security guy about doing that because it was inappropriate I felt for her to allow for him to allow her to look at me while are you using the restroom she became furious and follows out of the store and pushed me took my basket for me actually physically assaulted my friend which started a huge avalanche of events there was a huge glitch mob and crowd surrounded us as we try to leave our car blocked us and called us all for racist names Homo phobic names because me and my friend are both gay man and we are African-American we were afraid for her live it is record itI was afraid for my life they attacked is surrounded us yelled awful racial things at us I felt like I was being lynched in the south this is inappropriate at on professional it Hass to be dealt with I need to speak with someone my telephone number is 323-317-XXXX my name is Mario Lopez thank you

I had preordered two bouquets For my wedding from the Santa Paula ca Vons and Charlotte helped me with it. She sent me a picture of it through text message and I wasn’t too satisfied with it, especially for the price. I was polite and I said it was pretty, however wasn’t happy with it at all. So I called her and let her know that I wasn’t satisfied with it. I tried to arrange a time to come and fix it but was unable to because I had wedding rehearsal and she was almost off of work. Then she cut me off while I was trying to still talk to her and hung up the phone. I called her back and she was rude to me on the phone and didn’t want to speak to me and told me she spoke to the manager and that I could talk to the manager instead. I talked to the manager and let him know what happened to me and have been waiting to hear back from him. They were supposed to call me today at 9:30 am. I called them at 11:00 am and they are busy with a conference call. So we will see what happens. The main thing that made me mad at this whole thing was how Charlotte treated me on the phone and how she cut me off and hung up on me. Is that how you treat a customer? I think not!!! Hopefully, this never happens to another person. I’m grateful that my wedding bouquet got fixed by someone else and it was beautiful!

I’m very disappointed with vons, I placed my order online, and when I got ready to complete the order, it wouldn’t let it go through. So, I called the store in corona on McKinley, I was told that the system was down, I was also told that I was suppose to receive a call back, which never happened. I have been a long time customer, but I’m done with Vons at this time…..!!!

This afternoon I walked into my local Vons at 13730 Foothill Blvd, Sylmar, CA and loudly heard a cashier very upset and loudly say “Sir, leave me alone and let me do my job”! Loud enough for the whole front of the store to hear. This cashier is usually the most friendly cashier this Vons location has. The customer kept saying something to her and she kept repeating herself. No other employees, customers, or management stepped in. The angry cust called out “Warren” to go over – I believe he is the manager. Warren told him to wait a min as he was helping the other cashier with something. Warren then went over by kind of just stood there with a nervous smirk until the cust left. The cashier was left at the register to keep providing service, but was very affected by what had just happened. It was awful to witness the lack of support/safety for both customers and employees.

Shortly after shopping at the Vons’ store at 4404 Bonita Ave., Bonita ,CA 91902 on 9/2/19, I found that a sales tax rate of 8.75% was imposed on the non-food items purchased. The California Sales Tax for Bonita, CA is 7.75% per the tax authority’s website. The imposed rate resulted in an overcharge of $0.80. I later addressed this with the store Director who agreed that the 8.75% rate was incorrect. He refunded me the $0.80 overcharged and said he would investigate further. However, a purchase made on 10/23/19 was assessed a sales tax rate of 8.76%. Also, interim purchases were imposed sales tax rates from 8.70% to 8.76%. Is the tax authority’s published sales tax rate wrong?

Why are all the frozen foods bought at the Saturn Blvd location seem like they are defrosted then refrozen? Is there not enough staff to get it products into the freezer when delivered? I wanted to know what was up so, I recently went to the back of the store to watch a delivery being unloading, as I sat in my vehicle I watched the products being off loaded and then it just sat in the SUN just as I suspected. After an hour being in the SUN, without movement, I returned home. This to me is a health concern. Maybe you can provide signage to the freezer doors: BUY FROZEN FOODS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I am being forced to shop elsewhere. This is kind of sad because for years Vons has been my main sourse for groceries. The store at Desert Inn and Durango in Las Vegas has 2 battery carts for those with mobility issues. I contacted the store when one had been broken for atleast a month and now both are not working. This is not acceptable as I am not the only one that needs this help. Can anything be done about keeping these NEEDED pieces of equiptment functioning?

Las Vegas, Nv. I shop at Von’s at the corner of Desert Inn/Spring Mountain.
Huge complaint: There is never a shopping cart available. I have gone into the store to question this. About 4 months ago when there were no carts, the Manager went outside and brought one in. One cart. He did not ask a bagger to bring more in. When I left there were still no carts. This is a continued occurrence. Yesterday, no carts. I told the cashier who said sorry but did not ask to have any brought in! Not a lot of customer service or friendliness in this store. They use to have too many outdated food items. This has improved some. I also shop in Carlsbad, Ca. where they are friendly, organized and have carts! PLEASE CORRECT THIS or am I asking too much?

Von’s at 2355 E. Colorado Blvd. was at self checkout, had a problem and went looking for help, the attendant was talking to a fellow employee with her back towards us. Waited around half a minute, finally asked her for help. She corrected the problem then went back to talking with same employee, had another question about produce not scanning. Alexis said some numbers, then walked away again. The person I was with said “Let’s leave, she yelled at you”. I thought the same thing but didn’t say anything. This was 4:30p. 7/14/19, I will never go back to Von’s again. I told family & friends. We’ll see.

A great ending to a wonderful evening. After having diner at my moms house the last few times i went to Vons in El Cajon off of Avocado on the way home to get fudge bars the Vons brand, there the best! I got a couple other things and two lanes open I picked the gal that seemed friendly. I approached the check out put my things on the belt and the check out girl smiled and i smiled, i thought to myself did i see her last time i remembered her hair was cool such a pleasant disposition. After talking she said something like I remember you, I thought i knew her, usually its me who remembers people could be from forty years ago but I spot them. So the check out girl in store3044 Terrie Ramerez, it must be a married name cause I detected she is a Philipina girl im sure. Its often they have joy in what they do and take pride. So it turned out she remembered me from when i had my home high up on the hill in Spring Valley, Dictionary hill. that was three years ago or more. lets just say what a feeling leaving this night June 16Th at Ten pm. Ha! I forgot my coupon for the ice cream! and I put in my wallet from last time. well next time.

I am writing to tell you about the disgraceful condition of your stores in our community located at 12431 Valley View and 11861 Valley View, Garden Grove, CA. You are allowing homeless drug addicted thugs to congregate, sleep and inhabit the areas in front of both stores and no one in the neighborhood is going to shop there anymore. Please please do something about the problem. They are urinating, defecating, leaving trash and running off the customers. We, as a community, are not going to tolerate this and still patronize your business. You need to respond to this problem now. Thank you

Please read carefully. This is getting real irritating. It took me 3yrs to get select Grapefruit soda in Las Vegas Vons. Here I am again. Lucerne Creamers. What is the deal?? White Chocolate has been removed. Irish Cream is really hard to find. Either you order way too much Hazel nut and French Vanilla and no one buys. There is way too much of that in stock. I would like this fixed. Bring back White Chocolate and increase the Irish cream order. Enough said.

I was in Von’s (Store 2040) on Thurs 04/18/19 around 8:15 pm and i went to Cashier Nick and loaded my groceries onto the belt. Nick let me stack up everything before rudely telling me that the more i put on the belt, the less the belt will move.
The expression on Nick’s face was if he was irritated that i had so many groceries. If the belt was working incorrectly, there should’ve been a sign OR Nick should’ve been advising his customers before they loaded up the belt.
Nick never greeted me, never asked if i found everything that i was looking for and never asked if i needed help out to my vehicle with my purchase. Nick further made a comment that i would have fun putting away all the groceries that I was buying.
Nick was too busy engaging a former employee who was walking by and who ironically had been recently fired for providing bad customer service. At the end of my experience with Nick, he sarcastically said ‘ have a nice day ‘ and it was 8:15 pm at night.
I called back and requested to speak with the store manager who was not available so i spoke with Supervisor ‘ Annie ‘ who assured me that she would speak with Nick and have the store manager call me back the next day. She said that Nick was from the dairy dept and new on the register which is besides the point. If Nick is not familiar with providing world class customer service, he should not be allowed to interface with your customers.
This occurred on Thursday 04/18/19 and as of today Wednesday 04/24/19, I’ve not heard anything back from the Von’s store manager. I also filled out a Survey requesting a callback and no one has called me as of yet.

I have shopped at Von’s for over 49 years, so was very upset when I went to purchase the Sheepherder bread I always use, to find, on my last two visit’s that now, the bread is much smaller, but the price is still the same, and it is now covered in flour, it looks as though it has been frosted!! I asked why this was happening and was told that now, the bread comes from Albertson’s??? If I wanted Albertson’s products, I would go there, not have to find them in Von’s. The difference in the bread, and price, is just so wrong. The quality I was used to getting is now just miserable. Sad to say, I will not longer shop at Von’s and I feel sorry for your staff who have to be the ones to take all the customer’s complaints about these changes. If you want to keep your customers of long standing, and those who are new, I should think you will do something about this.

Never in my life have I been more embarrassed by a Vons cashier with red hair in the location of San Diego, CA on Scripps Poway Parkway. My husband and I have been shopping at this location for 11 years, and got to know a few cashiers on a regular basis. Until today. We went shopping around 530 pm..and we had a big order and it took us 1 1/2 hours to shop. When we get up too the register, this cashier don’t know her name because she took off her name tag when we got to the line. As she was checking us out, she was going thru our order crtiqting everything we bought, and then said she doesnt feel comfortable doing our transaction. I was surprised, we had alot of coupons and she said that she wasn’t going to take our coupons, because she didnt feel comfortable with the color of our skin. I was floored. She said I will not continue your transaction,I don’t feel comfortable around you. She was very hostile towards me, and grab a case of water out of my hand and said you don’t deserve this. Her manager did not understand what she was doing. My husband siad to the manager, take all your food back I’m not shopping here anymore. We left and are reporting it to the BBB. Bad business never go to,this location!

The Vons Market in Ojai California is an embarrassment. Just go to yelp.com and read some of the reviews there. They are all true except for the ones with five stars. What a dump. Smelly and understocked. Always out of what you came to buy. Every time, for Year’s. You get the feeling that it’s not really a Vons that somehow they just left the sign up. When will Vons Corporation go in here and overhaul this shit hole? I mean who doesn’t carry Smuckers strawberry jam? No knots preserves? Every time something is on sale and you go there to buy it it’s completely gone makes you wonder if it’s really gone or are they keeping it in the back till the sale is over? Products in the cold cases make you think that the refrigeration isn’t working right because the packaging is damp often ice cream in the freezer section is soft and I see. Crackers on the cracker aisle that is directly across from the meat are stale because they are near dampness ie the refrigerated meat case and Fish Department. Everything here is Tainted. You go to the deli counter and order some deli meat sliced thin and the workers there are so tired that they don’t listen at all and just slice it thick and hand you back a package. You get home to realize that your meat is sliced as thick as bacon. Disrespectful. Somebody obviously likes this place. I’m never going back until it gets overhauled for real. Seriously just go read the mounting Yelp reviews of how shity this store is. Embarrassing. The thought that people in this secluded Community after Drive almost 20 miles to another Vons down in Ventura to get the products they want to buy. All the Vons Market in Ventura are clean well-stocked well-lit working Refrigeration Etc why can’t Ojai Valley Vons market get an update? It needs more than an update it needs an emptying out redesign and overhaul.

Today I went to the Vons on Kings Canyon & Clovis to get deli meat. The deli worker was helping someone else which was fine. A few minutes later she walks in the back and doesn’t even help me. For 5 minutes I am hollering since I’ve been waiting almost ten minutes. I then told her how rude it was just to not help me and that I’ve been waiting and she said I didn’t see you there when she looked right at me previously while she was flirting with the guy she was helping. I said yeah ok whatever and then she proceeded to call me a bitch. Her name is Dana. I then went to the front to report it and the store manager was extremely thoughtful and nice enough to handle the situation and helped me. I’ve been going there ever since I’ve moved here in July and never had issues before like this. I’m just glad at least the management was courteous and went the extra mile to make sure it never happens again.

Yesterday I visited your Vons store on Manchester in the city of Inglewood,Ca. My husband and I had been combing the aisles looking for Tajin. After several failed attempts we decided to wait and ask the cashier for assistance in locating the item. As cashier Devyn scanned my items I asked if she can assist in locating the Tajin. Her response was “I don’t even know where it is.” Devyn then proceeded to finish scanning my remaining items and never followed up to ask a colleague for assistance locating my item. I then asked, “are you not going to ask once of your coworkers to help locate the Tajin!?” Devyn ignored my request. My husband again went combing aisle while she scanned my items, he found the Tajin in the produce department. As he handing me the Tajin, I asked what aisle he find it in so Devyn will know in the future should another guest inquire the “whereabouts” of Tajin. As my husband said in the produce department, Devyn interrupted and said in the produce department t. I asked her if you knew where the Tajin was located why didn’t you share that information with me instead of having my husband comb the asides?! I was very annoyed with Devyn!!!! I did speak to a supervisor in the store regarding my concerns. This Vons usually has amazing cashiers with positive attitudes and a willingness to assist when I am in need of locating items or just simply discussing sales but had this been my first time in this store I would have not returned based on Devyn’s attitude and dismissive attitude. I am hoping by me reaching out that someone can review the importance of great customer service with Devyn and if she does not know where products are located that it is ok to seek assistance from fellow colleagues.

Purchased a gift card for Target. Hours later changed my mind and tried to return card. They said all sales are final and they referred me to Target. Drove to Target and since the card wasn’t bought there, referred me back to Vons. Went back to display and saw the all sales final warning, but it was very small and at the very bottom of the display, very hard to find. The Vons manager said the only thing I could do was to take it to a kiosk in the store that changed gift cards into cash. The offer was $150 less than I paid but at that point I just wanted to get out of this frustrating situation. After going through a long process, the system said they could not process the transaction. I tried this 6 times with the same result. The manager then said they had nothing to do with the machine. I am now stuck with a gift card I don’t want. I will never shop at Vons again.

Last week the cashier in the Express line said that she could not bag groceries so I assumed that perhaps she had an injury that prevented her from doing so. Today, however, when I used the Express lane for my 10 items, the checker told me she was not to bag groceries in the Express lane — I asked it they were short of “baggers” and she stated that groceries in the Express lane were to be bagged by the customer. I felt very rushed and almost guilty that I was taking too much time bagging — the same feeling that made me switch from a store at which all customers bag their own groceries. Here are my take-aways from todays shopping experience at Vons. 1. Your prices are much higher than the “other” store where all customers bag their groceries. 2. The Express lane is no longer fast — regardless of the 15 item limit (which some customers ignore). I can chose to pay more money for groceries and still bag them or pay less money for groceries and bag them. Which choice do you think I will be making? I have been a Vons customer for many years and I don’t think that the loss of customer service (bag persons) makes up for your overly priced items and your constant reorganizing of the store’s layout. I’m OUT.

Ridiculous, 13 days since incident and nothing done or offers to help. After reading the other reviews, I guess this is what Vons (Safeway) is about. Quantity not quality. 2018 and racial issues are as present as back in the year Vons was founded. So sad
us Vallejo Store manager vons Lincoln and Broadway store #2262. Security Joel followed me to bathroom profiles. Spoke with Tim Hendrix Vins customer service line 9/19/2018.
After walking into Vons store #2262, I passed a security guard standing in the entrance. I turned right passing through the florist section headed to use the bathroom. I heard keys jingling behind me. As I passed the wine section and turned right into the hall where the store restrooms are locate, I walked to the first restroom. Still hearing the keys jingle behind me. Politely knocked to see if the restroom was occupied. I heard a voice letting me know restroom was occupied. I noticed the security guard I passed at the entrance, standing behind me on the left side looking at me. I was the only person in walking toward the restroom and in the hallway where the restrooms are located. I than walked down to the second restroom and politely knocked. I did not hear a voice. I proceeded to enter the bathroom code of 26002. I turned the hand and than, out the corner of my left eye, I seen the same security guard standing on the left side of the wall where the water bottles are stacked. Standing there watching me. I asked “why are you following me?” The security smiled, walked passed the hall to the drinks shelves which is about 2 feet away. Pretend like he was looking at the drinks turned and looked at me again. I asked again “why are you following me?”. The security guard walked away keys jingling smiling. I used the restroom, washed my hands opened the door and there were three people in line at this point. I held the door open for a gentleman waiting. After he walked into the bathroom, I proceeded to the security guard who followed me, now standing back at his post and asked again. “Why did you follow me to the bathroom?” He waved his right hand down, like get away from me and walked to his left away from me. I than asked another security guard if there is someone at Vons who is in charge of this security guard I can speak with and get an answer as to why I was racially profiled. One manager came to me the front end manager name Andrea. I asked “are you the store manager?”. Andrea said “I am one of them.” I said “thank you but I need the main store manager”. At that point Andrea called over another manager name Gus Vallejo. I explained to Gus what happened to me and how visibly upset I was and why. Gus said “I will call over the security guard and ask if he followed you”. Security guard came over. Gus asked “did you follow this man?”. The security guard said “no.” Gus turned to me and said “well, he he said he didnt follow you.” I said “I am upset for a reason. You have cameras all over this store. Look at your cameras and see that he followed me. I was the only person walking to the bathroom and I heard his keys jingling behind me. That’s how close he was to me. I asked him man to man, why are you following me? He smiled and walked away. Why am I being profiled? Do I look like I am a thief? Does anyone look like they are a theif? What does a theif look like? Am I the look of a theif?” Gus could not answer me. I than asked Gus for the security guard name. Gus said “I do not know his name.” I said you have people working in your store in charge of security and you do not know their name?” Gus said “today is his first day.” I said so you didnt bother to know his name? Is he really a security guard? Can you ask him his name? Gus said “yes he is real, he is standing right there.” Gus than asked the security guard his name. Security guard name is Joel. If thats his real name. I took a picture of Joel. I than asked Gus “can I have a corporate contact at Vons I can speak with and find out why I was racially profiled?” At this point there was another security guard that walked over and was listening to the conversation. The other security guard was African American. Gus provided me with this customer service number as in I had an issue with a product. (877)723-3929. I spoke with Tom Hendrix about my situation. I asked Tom for a regional or district manager above Gus. At this point Gus left, and was not around to speak with anymore as in my situation that happened in his store #2262 was not important. Tom provided two names for me. Both names Tom provided does not work in this area or store. As I was still on the phone with Tom, I noticed the front end manager still standing by the self service line and I asked Tom to hold on while I confirm who is the district or regional manager for store #2262. Andrea provided me with a name of Rick. Tom looked up Rick and advised me there is absolutely a Rick in the system. Tom than asked if I was a Vons customer. I said “yes I am I just bought a gift card from Vons on Monday September 17th for $25. A baby shower gift for a friend. Tom asked for my phone number which I provided to find me in the Vins system as a frequent shopper. Tom could not find me in the Vons system with either nu.ber I provided (818)264-9189 or (973)207-2859. I told Tom I forget I have the Vons card when I shop sometimes. I also advised Tom I live down the street from Vons located on San Fernando Mission BLVD in Granada hills cross street is Balboa BLVD. I live in Granada Hills on Danube Ave which is about a 3-5 minute drive from Vons. Tom continued to ask about linking my personal information to the Vons card of 600315 60656030. I started to feel like Tom was dismissive and in sympathetic to my situation. Tom said he will make note of my complaint and put it on file. I said to Tom I am giving Vons an opportunity to fix this correctly and Vons keeps trying to quiet me. I also told Tom gus just left me in the front and I was not assisted any further. Very displeasing and embarrassing feeling I had today. I will be looking for legal advice as to why I was discriminated and racially profiled against.

The fact that i have to waste my time to write this is ridiculous especially seeing the bad reviews already posted and that nothing seems to get accomplished from it. I went shopping today at Vons on Desert Inn and Durango in Vegas and while shopping I thought I lost my phone so I set everything down to dig in my purse when in fact I threw it in my basket. It had my recipe on it for what I was making. I continued to shop and when i was leaving this lady yelled for me, didn’t introduce herself and asked me to see inside my purse for a “random bag check.” I opened my purse willingly but clearly she wasn’t seeing what she was wanting to see so I asked her if she wanted me to take things out to speed up the process because I had perishables in the car already. She then asked me if I had receipts for some over the counter bottles of clearly previously used medicine. First of all who the hell keeps receipts for Probiotics and heartburn chewables and second are you stupid? She then asked about my makeup wipes and if I purchased those there. First of all if you watched where I went I never went down the makeup isle and secondly you should know what products you carry in your store. Needless to say I am embarrassed and irritated that this happened without a more through investigation. If I didn’t already have stuff in the car I would have not been such a willing participant. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING AT THIS VONS OR ANY OTHER VONS EVER. There is better competition, better customer service and ways of handling situations like that. I don’t even care if this doesn’t get rectified because I will not be back.

The Von’s pharmacy staff is the WORST I’ve ever had to deal with. They are so rude to people it’s horrible. What’s worse, many people go to the pharmacy to pick up meds because they are sick right?!! So watching the pharmacist coughing into her hands and then filling scripts and sharing her germs with all the patients is disgusting. Especially when one of the patients has severe respiratory issues and can get sick enough to die if he catches something. How about some hand sanitizer?? Ever heard of that? Terrible. That’s in La Crescenta, CA. The pharmacist who did it is the pharmacy manger on top of it all! Then she’s so rude when called out on it, when the store manager comes over to help the customer, she says the customer is a liar! I mean seriously? You can’t make this stuff up! The rest of the staff are just as rude. I think her dislike for her own job has rubbed off on the others. Hopefully, they will fire them, or at least transfer them all to different stores.

Absolutely disgraceful.
I ordered groceries 2 separate times & BOTH times, my food didn’t arrive, nobody called, emailed or reached out to me to let me know my food wasn’t coming. Every single time I called, It took 35 MINUTES for someone at the Arizona office (Literally only 1 phone number available) to answer. When I finally got ahold of a rep, they actually said “ma’am, there’s nothing we can do for you. We don’t know where your food is, who the driver is and we can’t contact them because it’s been routed to a different truck.” What?!? When they decided to redeliver my food, I was told it would be here the next day within a one hour window… guess what? NO FOOD, AGAIN! If you’re in San Diego, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!

I live at **** Park dr, and use your store at Tamarak and 5. I am 44, and have NEVER seen a grocery that was worse than this. I want to use 4 letter words right now. I will from now and ever on go to another grocery. I spent 5 minutes on a flouts recipe for what I needed and 25 min in line. There was an elderly lady walking up and down the line asking for a manager, and politely joked that he was working DMV. Get it together!

I have purchased Jimmy Dean Heat ‘n Serve Turkey sausage patties in a bag of approximately 26 for years from my Von’s store in Simi Valley. However, now I notice this product, UPC 7790036517, is no longer available. May I ask why, and could it possibly be reinstated? One other issue, why have you discontinued the Signature Select “Salted Caramel Butter Pecan” ice cream? My favorite, also no longer stocked, since the label change.
Youradvocate says
The star system is not working. I would have rated you 5 stars but 2 kept showing up.
William Pellegrini says
First, I voted one star, not two. for some reason, they won’t let you vote one star. Probably to avoid the worst rating. So, whatever rating you see, it’s probably worse because they’re lying.
I’ve gone into this store, Mira Mesa, California, a few times needing something. I’m usually a bit frustrated by the complete disorganization of this store. Their dairy alone is split up and halfway across the store from each other. Really? Who thought up the arrangement of this place, the three stooges?
My major complaint is the service. We went in looking to buy Del Mar Fair tickets. It wasn’t until it was time to pay they told us they’d run out and were no longer selling those tickets. Yet, the following day, Albertson’s sold us a pair no problem. So, how it “that deal is over” when everywhere else is still selling them? Why would they stop selling a deal that is still going to be in town another two weeks? I can tell you. Lazy, inconsiderate and undertrained customer service. But, that’s standard for Vons, I’ve found.
I’m not going to complain about the long lines. I’m more interested in how so many people come to the same place with the same complaints. But then, they are the only store in the area, so that might be why they don’t care if we’re happy or not. But the minute a competitor arrives, they’ll wake up, I’m sure. Too bad it’ll be too late.
It surprises me is that there are so many negative reviews of this store, yet nothing changes. That tells me that the store simply doesn’t care about what the customers think. That’s fine, in my opinion. You see, we live in a country where the store has competition (not that it would be difficult to compete with such lazy and ineffective service). So, Since this last visit, I’ve made the definitive decision that I will never again walk into Vons. Not just this Vons, any Vons. This isn’t just a store issue, it’s a corporate one. I’m basically going on a Vons strike. I’ve done this before and that restaurant hasn’t seen a dime of my money since 1991. I spent $13 on items I didn’t need to get tickets I didn’t get. So, I don’t think Vons deserves my business anymore. You burned me for that $13. It’ll be the last. I know this won’t affect the company at all. But, at least I have the peace of mind knowing I won’t be wasting my money supporting what I see as one of the worst active companies in business.

Dear Von’s:
Your new website looks great. There’s one problem that I have tried explaining over and over and as succinctly as possible to your customer service reps and it’s a big one. This is what happens with online ordering, at least from the Temecula, California, store:
1. You choose your items on line and then check out.
2. Sometime later (a couple of hours or a couple of days) you open up your shopping cart to delete or add some items.
3. You get a confirmation email that lists the changes. The changes are noted within the original items you bought. The confirmation email used to show the changes in a separate box placed at the top of your list, which made it much easier to track the changes than reading through your entire original list to find the changes as is the case now.
BUT the biggest problem you have is this: The customer gets the confirmation email or e-mails saying that the changes have been made to the original list, and indeed, they are even listed as being in the customer’s original list (See No. 3 above).
BUT the changes somehow don’t make it to the people who pick out the groceries. Thus, when your groceries are delivered, the items you added are NOT included, which presumably were important enough to go into your cart and add them.
This has happened six times in a row to me now. It doesn’t sound like a very difficult change for the IT people to make. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. THERE’S NO EXCUSE FOR IT TO TAKE THIS LONG. It’s a great service but I’m seriously considering having Walmart deliver my groceries in the future.

3 hours past my delivery one hour window and still no delivery. Management has issues or needs re-training. Easy to blame computer issues…again…..
Change your internet provider or update your computers, this isn’t rocket science peeps. Geez

I have been using Vons for grocery delivery for some time now. Items are frequently not available when I receive the order. One time a gallon of milk wasn’t available. Items are often short dated. But most annoying is scheduling a delivery time with a one hour time window days in advance only to have the order consistently arriving late and often with no phone call. Items that were part of a “DEAL” are often among the items that are not delivered.

I previously shopped at Vons in Moorpark, Ca. Every time I visit the store I find expired items. I now shop at other Vons and Ralph’s.Typically I don’t file complaints but I feel the need to now as it could make the public sick. Today I found the following expired-3 Greek Gods yogurt were 6 days expired, 2 of them were 17 DAYS EXPIRED.
3 of the half n half Lucerne brand were 5 days expired. Finally, Chicken breast’s were 4 days expired. I brought the items to customer service and left. I truly hope you send someone in to audit them as this is simply wrong.

I’m in agreement with the April 16, 2018 complaint by Kathy Ellis, regarding the new Sheepherder bread. I had been shopping at Vons (several locations) for the Sheepherder bread, specifically. Recently, I went to my local store in Studio City, CA, hoping to find a few loaves on the shelf. I inquired in the bakery department if the store had any loaves in back, and the clerk took me to where the Sheepherder bread had been placed.
The loaves are now half the size of the previously baked bread and covered with some white, messy powder. The clerk said this is a new recipe, which someone in the Corporate Office ordered the stores to use. Why? Did you think customers would’t notice? Please heed the advice of your customers to bring back the old recipe for Sheepherder bread.

Vons is not being honest with the consumer. Here are a couple of examples. The Just4U program is riddled with deceit. I went to the store to buy Mandarins for $3.99 for a 3lb. bag. The produce manager said that product was not in stock for the last several weeks and does not intend on restocking it. This is done to get you in the store and is dishonest. Another example is who they hire. They hire employees who are convicted felons and are wanted fugitives of the law. One example is Shanera Gomez, aka Shanera Keitt. She has an outstanding warrant and is on the lam from Dekalb county, Ga. She is hiding out in California because of the leniency of the laws. Is this the type of person you want to unknowingly deal with? These are just two examples of the lack of concern Vons shows for its customers.
Youradvocate says
This is directed to Joe Escobar: You must have been dumped by Shanera Gomez. I can see why.
PS: Ever heard of a “rain check”.
joe escobar says
Vons is not addressing the issues. The want to attack and blame the consumer. It is a form of diversion away from the truth. Face it, Vons does not care about its own problems, but want to deflect and avoid facts.
Joe Escobar says
I see that I did not get a response to address the false advertising and misleading ways of Vons. They want to talk about the previous dating practices of their employees. Everybody I know thinks this is very funny and telling The lack of professionalism within the Vons/Safeway supermarkets is quite evident.

Have been going to this store for over 30 years. It has become a terrible experience over the past year or so. Little or no service at check out. Cranky employees who lack interest in making shopping there enjoyable. Today my wife waited at the check out stand for 3 minutes. Cashiers and stockers saw her but let her stand there. She finally walked out and went to Ralphs. I’ve had to wait up to 10 minutes at the deli to get help. The place is always dirty and poorly stocked. Looks like you don’t want to be in business anymore.

Hello Vons,
Regarding- the bakery Sheephearder bread and produce
I live in Sylmar Ca. pop 90 thousand. A community in the foothills near Los Angeles. For 90 thousand people there are 2 major chain markets, 1 Vallarta market.
1 Vons, 1 Food for Less, 1 Vallarta.
Despite the ease of ordering online and having groceries delivered to your home, People still like to cook and eat good food.
I grew up eating Sheephearder Bread from a local bakery, when it closed we were devastated. But it turned out Vons bakery in Sylmar had almost the same perfect recipe and the same baker by chance. Sheephearder bread for toast, after Thanksgiving sandwiches, French toast, peanut butter jelly even garlic bread. That bread had a hard crunchy crust and a soft fragrant yeast dough bread. It was great. But not now. Apparently Vons has changed the recipe. The crust is soft and more sugar must of been added because it burns in seconds. The new Sheephearder Bread just isn’t great. Why would you do that? Try fixing what wasn’t broken? A very sad situation. It also hard to slice. Please Please change back to the old recipe. Please Please.
Shopping for food seems to get worse in many cases.
Also the Produce. It makes no sense to constantly mist the produce to the point of having water in the plastic bag when I get home. Green onions don’t do well when soaked. When cooking the whole onion is important. Red potatoes should not be misted. They are root vegetables. Parsley, cilantro are dripping wet. They don’t keep well wet, you can’t use or chop wet Parsley in many cases. The expensive asparagus is lying there stacked, breaking the tips and drying up. The Brussel sprouts are soaking wet, they get brown spots when wet. Go to the Sylmar Vallarta and see the beautiful produce department, it fun,, a adventure, easy access. I have to stand on my tip toes to see or reach at Vons. I often eat veg. and rice for a meal. A highlight not a side show. Each item should be treated special and look special. And listen to your employees, ask their opinion. They are there most of the day and have to answer to complaints with no power to give input. The employees know much more than levels above them on spread sheets.
Please fix the Sheephearder Bread and try to have a imagination with pride displaying the food your customers need and come to buy. Why do a marginal job? Being great doesn’t cost money. Sylmar isn’t a millionaire community but you should treat it as it were. Have some pride in your work and listen to your employees your greatest asset. People hate going to work knowing no one cares what they think, everyone feels it.
regards, k

On the 12 of March went to West Hollywood Pavilions market around 12 lunch time, aproched deli department no one waiting, about 4 employees behind counter after a wile I asked is some one helping clients, an African American employee say take a number, I did 78 she called 52 waited, 53 waited no other people there just me, she asked what number you have, I told her she continue 54 waited when she got to 77 waited and then said I need to do something in kitchen I be right back walked away, other employees founded humorous, Mary the department Manager was out to lunch I asked for the store Manager , Fernando came to assist me instead, Mary, Fernando are wonderful but if the Manager don’t faces you, and employees do as they wish, wile I talking to Fernando the female employee was laughing behind the counter, I point that to him, also told him that is why people are not coming back to your store, and I come back because of Mary and you but I don’t deserve or need to be treated in such manner. It appears the store has a problem with all departments and they have trouble managing careless employees that only want a pay check and have no intention to work, I probably should do as my friends and neighbors and don’t go back we have other markets that treat clients with respect and actually appreciate our business. Wile this is the worst ever, I have had constant problems in the Deli, Flowers and drugstore. Seem they in a task to run your company out of business and eventually they will. Not thinking that when they reach their goal there will not be a paycheck any longer because they would have ruin your company if you look trend in your West Hollywoodstore, you will be surprise how many people you have lost, you get the traveling clients, but every day your employees chase the residents and real clients away. I’m sure that your employee at the Deli that refuse service to my must be so proud of her behavior it takes some one like her to actually make a client cry out of frustration.

I went to store #2861 (my nearest store) and went I went to purchase products from the meat and seafood department they were several items spoiled and when I brought it to the attention of the person attending to the department he agreed and yet the products were not removed from the glass and were still available for purchase. I then went up front and brought it to the attention of Maria, the supervisor on shift. I explained to her the situation and even showed her photos of one of the items and cautioned her that this was the 4th time in recent months were I have been to the store and experienced spoiled items in the meat and seafood department as we frequent the store often. She response was cold and unwelcoming and she casually stated she will pass on the information to the store manager. Her immediate reaction SHOULD HAVE BEEN TO IMMEDIATELY have the items removed for purchasing instead it seemed like me bringing this matter to her attention was an inconvenience to her. When I thought about it and the major health risk of having spoiled food out for consumer purchase, I then asked her for the store manager contact information and she was rude and nasty. I then asked her again to provide me with the information and informed her I will contact the health department that is when she gave me a receipt ripped with the manager name and store phone number. I asked her to write her name and at first she refused and then once I started recording her wrote it down. I am not only disappointed in the customer service, MORE IMPORTANTLY this is seemingly a reoccurring issue and poses great health risk to consumers

Well this is not about going in to the store and purchasing but ordering from the Home Delivery App in Las Vegas. My most recent order was an estimated $245.56 I believe. When I was actually charged for my order it came to $230. I ordered 5, 2lb stuffed Atlantic salmon and instead got a substitution of 1 (5 count) stuffed salmon pieces totaling 2lbs. Now at a sale price of $3.99 its not that big dead BUT when you are only given a total of 2lbs instead of 10lbs, that is a over charge of $15.96 (You only issued a $10 refund for an almost $16 over charge… unacceptable).
I was also sad to see their customer service completely ignore the issue of a case of beer I ordered. I ordered 2, 30 count cases of Key Stone Light beer, 1 of which exploded during transit in their delivery truck and was returned for a full refund. I am still waiting for a refund of the $18.99.
I do not know if this is typical for Vons throughout all its stores or if it is just localized to here in Las Vegas BUT it is totally unacceptable. It is FRAUD and EMBEZELLMENT among other illegal activates and can not and should not be tolerated under any cirXXXXstances. Mind you this is NOT the first time this problem has happened to me and Vons NEVER takes the initiative to contact the customer about items missing or over charged for when they catch it. I have the feeling this is being done intentionally and needs further investigation by the Government. Since this transaction took place over the internet it now falls under the FBI’s Internet Fraud Division and they will be notified of this illicit activity. The BBB will also be getting a copy of this complaint.

Subject: EXTERNAL: Vons.com order question
I was over charged for my delivery.
Order #: 1055573-1970
Address: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxx , Las Vegas, NV 89115
Scheduled for Sunday, 2/25/2018; 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
I was billed $230.16 but based on what I received I should have been
charged only $209.59
I am missing:
4 stuffed atlantic salmon @ $3.99/ea = -$15.96
1 big lighters @ $5.59 = -$5.59
1 lara bar @ $1.00 = -$1.00
4 Thomas Bagels Everything @ $2.99/ea = -11.96
1 snack artist potato chips @ $1.50 = -1.50
Totaling $-36.01
My estimated total for the order was $245.60 – $36.01 = $209.59
meaning I was over charged $20.57 due to those missing items.
Also one of the cases of beer exploded in transit and was returned so
that means an additional $18.99 should be returned to my card as well
for a grand total of $39.56 going back to my card on file.
Thank you for your time on this matter.
Sincerely,
Francis Yans
P.S. No one ever answers the 800 number you give to call for customer service

My response to this letter was just sent out. Here is that reply:
A $10 refund does NOT cover the loss I have received. If the salmon is
$3.99 each and I did not receive 4 of them, $10 does not cover that. 4
@ $3.99 each that totals $15.96 NOT $10.00. You also decided to IGNORE
the issue of the RETURNED CASE OF BEER that EXPLODED in YOUR TRUCK
during transit which cost me $18.99 and have not refunded me for that
either. If this is not taken care of IMMEDIATELY I will be contacting
the FBI’s Internet Fraud Department since this was an internet
transaction and falls under their jurisdiction. I will also be
contacting Vons Corporate and the BBB to file complaints as this is
NOT the first time you have screwed me over on returned items not
being refunded or being refunded for items purchased and not
delivered.
I ill be updating this message with the newest reply when it arrives.

This is not about something being out of stock but about my shopping experience and the interaction of the Von’s employee with their customers. Today, I witnessed Lara Kane at Von’s on Midway in San Diego, CA treat a person with such disregard. If you are going to work with the public and are suppose to demonstrate customer service, then do just that otherwise find a new job that will accommodate your distaste for the less fortunate. Every person deserves to be treated fairly and not stereotyped based on their appearance.
This customer obviously had a substance and/or mental condition trying to buy something and had a cup filled with coin in addition to her crumbled up dollar bills that she placed on the conveyor belt. I was several people behind her in line otherwise I would have helped her count out her money. She apparently was not capable of doing it herself. Instead of using a kind approach, Lara told the customer with an abrasive tone that she wasn’t going to count out the money and she needed to do it herself at the end of the counter ($0.97 cents) because she needed to keep the line moving. This customer seemed confused and embarrassed by the request. I watched my daughter had her a dollar bill to finish her transaction as to not cause anymore humiliation for this woman. Later my daughter told me she seemed to be trying not to bring attention to herself and had let several people, including my daughter check out before her. I had passed this customer in the store and could see she was struggling as she was talking to herself and physically shaky. I made eye contact with her and greeted her like I would do with anyone I may encounter in my path. It took a lot for me to hold my tongue while I witnessed this woman being shamed. When I finally reached the register to be checked out and Lara apologized to me for the line being held up, I spoke my truth. I told her that if anyone, she should be apologizing to was the woman she humiliated and shamed in front of all the other patrons. And that she should consider that this woman could be down on her luck and may be going through something. Try treating others by showing a little more compassion and kindness. I told her she should strive to be a humanitarian and treat people with dignity no matter what. That woman is a human being regardless of her cirXXXXstances. I told the manager that I felt that Lara was the rudest person I have encountered in a very long time. Before I had even communicated my feelings about the incident with the woman and her coins, Lara was short with me about inserting my debit card into the keypad too soon. Lara needs a training session in giving quality customer service. She is definitely lacking in this area.

Are you f-ing kidding me..?? Now i have to wait 3-4 minutes with 6 people behind me in line, to verify the price.
Meanwhile, you’re cashier doesn’t give a s**t, i could’ve summoned an asst mgr and said i want these for .88/can b/c it’s not my fault that you can’t keep your shelves straight and he would’ve given it to me…

I have lost count how many times I have emailed and called the corporate office with complaints, they obviously don’t care what’s happening to their stores since no one ever contacts you regarding a complaint. This one is great! I called the Vons in Granada Hills last Tuesday and spoke with the guy that orders the meat. I told him I needed to special order 5 Veal Shanks for Xmas dinner and needed them Saturday the 23rd. He says they’ll be in Friday. Doesn’t take my name or phone number or anything, says he’s going to order a case and he’ll put the rest out for sale. I call on Friday and they didn’t receive anything and I’m told to call back Saturday morning. I call and they say nothing has come in. I’m thinking in my head, what the hell am I supposed to do now? Go on a hunt for a real butcher for the meat I need. I said to the guy in the meat department, you realize this was for xmas dinner and I needed it today. The guy says, sorry about that.
I’m sorry for YOU – I stopped shopping at these ridiculous stores long ago because they’re so awful but this took the cake! I would’ve ordered from my Ralphs, but they were kind of enough to be honest and told me their warehouse didn’t carry veal shanks.
What a joke – close your stores already if you can’t deliver any kind of decent customer service. And your Mission Hills store? The one I usually complain about…the management here allows vagrants to hang around the front entrance with their animals so your assaulted the minute you get up to the doors. I ran in a week ago to grab some carrots and I saw a woman walk out with a jacket full of food. I ran to the cashier and told her, and she looked at me and said, (no joke) that stinks…
Wow….really…

She just told me a couple of weeks ago, while waiting for her RX at Vons, a female deli worker said to the security guard, “go check her bag, she looks suspicious”. The security guard came up to her and said, “Ma’am, Im going to need to check your bag”, but a checker saw what was going on and said, “No, no, dont do that, shes good”.
She requested a call from the manager because the manager had not come to check out the situation while it was happening. He eventually called with a half-a**ed sorry about that.
I was appalled at the treatment she endured and that someone in the deli was able to command the security guard to check someones personal items without seeing them putting store items in their pocket bag etc. That gives that deli worker a lot of power. The security guard went to check her things without asking if the deli person saw her doing something, which she did not. Little did she know, she was accusing one of the most honest people on the planet.
Not only has this bothered me, but my friend has been feeling bad about it still. It was humiliating, accusatory, rude, unnecessary, embarrassing, insulting and degrading. It wasnt anything she was doing but the way she looks that bothered the deli worker. When I asked my friend for the deli workers name she didnt want to give it or take the situation any further.
The only information I could get was the security guard was pleasant considering the situation, and the checker that was helping her with the guard, her name might be jenna or juanna?
Ive always considered Vons to be my go to market, (I live in a different city and do not shop at DHS store),
and I still do. The Desert Hot Springs store is in a bad part of town, but, the way you look is not a reason to search someone, someone no one has seen not paying for an item.
Disappointed

TO H**L IN A HANDBAG… SEEMS TO BE THE WAY IT’S GOING. I SHOP AT THAT STORE AS WELL. THEY ARE VERY NICE THERE BUT THE RENT A COPS THEY HIRE ARE HIT OR MISS. I HAD TO ACTUALLY FLEE ONCE FROM PARKING TO SHOP THERE BECAUSE THERE WAS SO MUCH DRUG ADDICT ZOMBIE ACTIVITY THERE I DID NOT FEEL SAFE GETTING OUT OF MY CAR. THIS HAPPENED TWICE. ONE SECURITY GUARD IS SUPER NICE AND PROACTIVE, THE NEXT DAY THEY HAD SOMEONE ELSE WHO WAS COMPLETELY OUT TO LUNCH WHEN IT HAPPENED AND ASKED WHAT I DID TO HAVE SOMEONE ON DRUGS APPROACH ME AGGRESSIVELY…!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER. AS SOMEONE WHO SPENDS A LOT OF MONEY AT VONS FOR YEARS, SPENDING OVER $1,000 A MONTH IN DELIVERY AND WHO USED TO BE A .COM DELIVERY MANAGER… I SEE THE LANDSLIDE OF INCOMPETENCE AND UNPROFESSIONALISM GROWING WITH THIS CORPORATION. EMPLOYEES ARE FORGETTING THEY ARE ON THE PAYROLL REPRESENTING A CORPORATION, AND ACT AS IF THEY ARE IN THEIR OWN LIVING ROOM AND APPLY THEIR OWN PERSONAL POLICY TO ANY GIVEN SITUATION AS IT SUITS THEM. CUSTOMER SERVICE USED TO BE PARAMOUNT, NOW IT IS BECOMING RARE.

While shopping at the deli at Von’s #2413 I was quite upset at the way the deli employee threw the whole cooked chickens at me on the counter and stated that she did not have time to put them in the hot case. I had reported it to the manager that was on duty (Corissa?) and she said that she would take care of this problem. I then handed the cashier (Rachel) a $10.00 off coupon and she was so busy listening to me and the manager that she forgot to ring up the coupon. I’ll think twice about going to the deli. This happened on 10/5/17 @12:40 PM.

Vons once used to be a to me 5 star grocery chain, now its not. I was at Vons’ in Long Beach on Ximeno at the gas station recently…when did Vons’ find it acceptable to allow an employee to scream and yell at customers? I own a company, this is not acceptable for me. The employee’s name is Jelani and I only know that as I paid close attention to his name tag while getting my gas and drinks for the road. He does not represent your corporation in any good manner, he’s rude, brash and the way I saw it just felt it was ‘okay’ to yell at customers because they were slow. Von’s you have a serious problem on your hands one if it were my employee I would resolve in a heart beat. Other customers inside the gas station facility were just as stunned as I was…in my opinion he does not deserve to be a Von’s employee…I would fire him

I have health problems and now have to order groceries on line…and have them delivered. I do search through your on-line ads before making my purchases. Saturday I received a delivery of foods that I ordered from the on-line ads. There was a 4-day sale in the ads – and it said “Online Ad”. Water was on sale – 2 for $.4.00. The water was charged at $5.59 each for both of the cases of water I purchased. Other items ordered off the 4 day ad were priced properly on my receipt ( eggs ). I called the 800 number and was told today that the ad was only for in-store purposes. Cody said that he was in charge and he was not going to do the refund. I asked for the name of a supervisor, or a consumer complaint number. Cody refused to refer me to someone else! I should just shop somewhere else!

What is going on with Von’s on 25th st in San Pedro! They have not had anything in stock and what you do find either the boxes are smashed or have cuts in them!! I also have found some past date items and brought it to their attention and they look at you as if you are from mars! The checkout situation is a joke…yesterday at 4:45pm their was one checker open and 2 express lanes carts were lining up and the checker in one of the express lanes just sat there instead of taking one of the 15 carts waiting in line! To top it off the checker helping me hit into a interaction with another customer kept stopping while checking me out and then left the checkstand while I was waiting for it to be completed! All of a sudden the box girl handed me a receipt with no comment and the customers behind me were standing there in total disgust! I might add the checker left the register and I did not come back before I left! You need to realize that your service is non existent I can easily go to Ralphs, Albertsons, Smart and Final or any other markets!! Do something! Maybe some training and basic manners would help and have a checker sitting there doing nothing is not such a great image either… she also kept talking to the checker st my checkout stand and laughing while we all waited! We all should of left our baskets and walked out!

I went this morning before work to the Fresno store on Cedar and Shields. Went back to the deli and their was one gentleman working pulling out hot chickens. I asked if I could get some help and he told me when he was done with the chickens. This store worker pulled out at least 30 chickens put them in trays and put the plastic lids on them. I thought well he must not be able to leave them uncovered. He came to the counter and I told him since I might be late for work I would give him my list and come back after I picked up a couple of items. He wrote down my 4 items and I told him I will come right back to pick my stuff up. I came back within 10 minutes and he was putting tags on the chickens, He then put then on a cart and started taking them out to the floor. I said have you even started my order and he said no. I got upset and told him to forget it.I left but not before informing the store manager on duty of what had happened.I waited for 30 minutes total for him to finish chickens. I do not understand why you have such a nice deli but cannot get help. I usually shop at the Fresno Kings Canyon street one. I always am having to talk to the store manager because of the deli. I can never get help there so end up at Winco where there is always help. I have reported the deli to the store managers there so often I do not even use the deli there anymore. I shop for my elderly brother and me every 2 weeks and pend usually 300.00 each time. I am thinking of taking my business to Winco for good. You really need to address the deli issue in your store.

Purchasing Kevita Kombucha–always charged tax on it plus CRV. Bottle plainly says non-taxable under section 5051 I.R.C. When pointed out to them, some remove the sales tax, and others very defensively say they cannot, not will not. Other stores namely Ralph’s and Sprouts only charge a CRV, which it should. Check your bottles and purchase slip..

I shop at the Grover Beach, CA Vons. Yesterday corporate was in checking on it. After they left, the checkstands were so unstaffed that the lines were very long. This is the usual now for that store. Please hire more people. The baskets are also very bad. Wobbly wheels. The only other large chain store is Food For Less, and it has nothing in comparison with food, but less crowded for that reason. There is no management to talk to as I have looked for one.

RE: Home Delivery Bottle Water
For some time, I was able to purchase 20 cases of water, pay the delivery fee and have my water delivered just a few feet from the delivery truck by cheerful, professional drivers. The last time I ordered my 20 cases of bottled water (a couple months ago) only 15 cases arrived, the driver was surly and seemed angry, and I was informed after the water had been unloaded that Von’s now charges an extra fee per case, increasing the cost of the home delivery dramatically. I felt this was *really* unfair to spring this on me after the water was sitting in my garage. Also I want to verify if this is true, and not some dirty trick that the lower level managers cooked up because they don’t like lifting cases of water. I’ve tried to get their customer support to explain this sudden jump in cost but all I got was some vague remark about CRV tax amounting to almost 25 bucks. They ignored my request to explain this sudden steep “tax”. This store is always out of stock on my selected items when I shop there, the support is a joke… done with this store! Amazon Prime for me from now on!

All i want is my $13 in coupons to apply to my order, but no one seems to listen or care. I’ve dealt with tons more companies with better service than Vons, how disappointing.

Your Vons Store at 1440 W. 2th St. in San Pedro is in serious need of a management overhaul. The place is fairly busy so there’s no reason for the skeleton staff that manage the registers. Unless I’ve got some serious time to kill, I can’t shop there anymore; it just takes too long. Where is the manager? In one of my latest visits, it took 25 minutes to get checked out. That’s simply unconscionable. I, for one, am going to give up on this store. I’m going to take my business to Ralph’s.

Why is it that no matter what Von’s I enter there are long lines with 3’s a crowd signs hanging everywhere. Always happened in Los Angeles now I have moved to San Luis Obispo county and the problem follows. Just left the store in Nipomo and at 8:00 at night there were 8 people in the express line and no baggers anywhere so things were moving very slowly. I stated to the cashier that it appears the corporation is only concerned with the bottom line and not customer service since the signs are a huge lie and are not honored in any Von’s that I have been in. He said as soon as the 3’s a crowd signs went up they started cutting hours. Have tried another branch on Grand St. and it is always packed as well with not enough checkers or baggers and when I ask there they say the same thing, corporate does not allow more staff and they are doing the best they can. None of that helps the customer and everyone needs to try and shop more at the new Food4Less in Arroyo Grande or small local markets and take business away from Von’s.

I am having a big problem with Vons websites:
The website wwww.vons.com shows that there is a

West Naomi Avenue is the correct street.
The website wwww.pavilions.com shows that there is
a Pavilions store at 745 West Naomi Avenue.
The website wwww.safeway.com shows that there is
a Safeway store at 745 West Naomi Avenue.
I have reported these errors many times to store
managers, webmasters, and customer support.
But my error reports have been ignored for years. I
suspect that some of these errors have existed for
many years. The Vons drugstore in Arcadia has
been using the ZIP code 91006 for 48 years proba-
bly. Should be 91007.

I had to walk out of the store number 2124, I reported to six separate employees, including the assistant manager and manager of the ramp at shoplifting theft of the local high school students at 3 o’clock to 325 today. The checkout aisles were overwhelmed and and when I walked a few paces over to observe an aisle where there was more shoplifting occurring I walk to my cart and they close the checkout aisle on me. That’s when I decided to just leave. Because all the items bread eggs half-and-half were a buck and a half to a dollar more than the Ralph’s down the street. All the employees I spoke with, just seem to shrug their shoulders. I don’t feel like paying for the shortages.

I have been a Vons customer for over 40 years. At the Vons store located at 550 E. Baseline Rd., Claremont, California, I recently purchase 4 eight-packs of the small Coca Cola bottles as if you purchase 4, you get a discount. When I got home and reviewed my receipt I discovered that I was over charged. I was not able to return at that time so the next day I returned with my receipt and spoke with the Manager, Hala.Allam. She informed me that I needed to bring the actual product back in order to have it corrected. So in other words, drive all the way back home and then drive back to the store. She informed me that the “special” was no longer valid as it was only through the day I purchased the items. I told her I just wanted the correct discount applied and bringing the product back seemed unnecessary. She refused to correct their error unless I brought the product back. That is exactly what I did. I brought back the Coca Cola and told her I no longer wanted them and had them credit my debit card. I then went to Stater Bros. and purchased them. I am no longer a Vons customer.

Message back to Hope (months later)
If you had READ my comments word for word, the very first line says:
“I CAN understand if a dog’s running loose & any puddles of pee are deposited,”
I have to say I’d be curious on what size dog it would take to reach the produce?
Also, not that the market staff wants to do it, but they have to get a mop or whatever item out and clean it up, because it is part of the job, if your supervisor requests it. They also get called to clean up human vomit and other lovely things. When I worked in a market in my early 20’s, I saw a woman change her baby and shove a poopy diaper behind some produce. Obviously, classless & I told my supervisor immediately. Responsible pet owners don’t let their pets run loose. Key word is “Responsible” Responsible adults don’t shove a dirty diaper anywhere else, but a trash can. So I guess it might be a case by case basis, but let’s not get overly silly and try to compare the content of my comments to allowing a dog in a surgical room. Give me a freakin’ break! A market is a completely different animal (absolutely, no pun intended) and as I said, Anyone who eats in restaurants and isn’t aware of what happens in several of them, you may want to find out. I quit a waitressing job in Beverly Hills that I took after working at a market, because of what went on in the restaurant’s kitchen for starters. The “animals” that aren’t owned and are NEVER supposed to be in a restaurant kitchen period are and they CAN reach the produce and EVERYTHING else around. I would rather eat in well-kept market any day And if you get a chance to surprise- visit some restaurant kitchens, you may want to as well!

So…if anyone of any worth in the Vons corporation is reading this, please call or email me a response. I won’t hold my breath.
6 weeks ago, on my Vons receipt, I receive an ad attached stating “transfer a prescription and receive a $25 gift card”. 4 weeks ago, prior to my sister’s knee replacement, we walk to the drugstore, hand prescription to the drugstore tech, and ask about the card. “oh no you have Medi-Care…you can’t get the gift card”. I explain we spoke with the pharmacist two weeks prior, who said she could.
Against better judgment, I decided to transfer my prescription for Asthma meds to Vons so I can get the gift card as I have Blue Cross. I called first and was told ‘no problem’. I gave her my rx number from Walmart. She took my information. Asked allergic to any medicines to which I replied ‘yes, penicillin’.
This morning, I called to see if my prescription was ready.
I was told that it was just faxed over this morning but no reply yet. Then she said ‘that was for the Advair and Penicillin’. Penicillin???? I am allergic to Penicillin.
What kind of drugstore are you running here?????
Gee sorry, but DYING from allergic reaction isn’t worth a $25 gift card!

I have been going to Vons drugstore for about ten years. Whenever I need to pick up prescriptions or deliver a new prescription, I hope that anyone is there but Dagmar. He is insolent, and unprofessional. Today, I entered the line with my pre-surgery prescriptions. I went to the “ENTER” sign area, waiting for him to finish up with the patient before me.
A woman ran up to the “EXIT” line. Dagmar asked me if I minded if he took her ahead of me. I told him that she had just arrived and was in the wrong line. He just turned and ignored me. I’m very angry, and not at all sorry that I watched while he did silly things, fooling around with the computer, telling her no prescription had been sent, asking her if she was sure he sent it, and on and on.
I interrupted to tell him “never mind”, that I would take my prescriptions to a professional drugstore, where we are all treated as patients, and I meant it! I took my prescriptions to Rite Aid. They were accommodating and very kind.
It does not suit you to have pharmacists like this working for you. I also submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau today where you must enjoy the D minus rating for the Bakersfield CA store!

My sisters and I ordered a cheescake for my sister in California. We added things on to our order to ensure that it could be delivered (there is a $50 minimum). The next day we find out that the cheesecake was not delivered because it is on “back order.” We still got charged a delivery fee – and now we’re being notified that the store isn’t going to deliver our cheesecake when it comes back in stock. Instead, they’ve just decided to cancel our order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So now, we’ve all spent the better part of an hour trying to get someone on the phone who knows what’s going on and to complain. I’ve tried six numbers. Nobody is there. Nobody is helping us. I’ve been sent all over the place. I’ve even been given your IT tech support number by one of your front-end supervisors. May I just compliment your stores on your amazing customer service? I frequent California, and can assure you that I will not be shopping at Vons. I will not recommend your store, and my family will not shop with you either.
In what business is it considered acceptable to say ‘Sorry. We don’t have that. And even though you want it, we’re not going to fulfill your order, even if we do get it back in. Just because we don’t want to, but thanks for your business anyway.’ Are you a supply and demand business or not?
I’m infuriated – first because you didn’t deliver what you promised. Second because your stores don’t fix any problems that they’re creating, and third, because you have absolutely zero customer service when we as customers try to get an order completed to satisfaction.
Thanks for making me a Trader Joe’s advocate.

I went to the local Von’s in Nipomo, Ca. on Friday 12/09/2016 and spent $188.57 and the receipt says I only received 91 points out of 100, what does that mean? I did not get my gas reward, still have not got it and I have written Von’s twice and no response. The bar code at the bottom of my receipt reads: 00162100201531612091813, yes, I still have the receipt because I want the reward of .40 cents off per gallon that I was promised and did not get!

What do I have to do to MODERATE my comment written today 11/22, 2016?
Camilla says
Hello,
I wanted to bring this to you attention because I am very angry and distressed with the situation that happened–to the point where I’m telling everyone not to shop at Vons anymore, not to use your online grocery service and to write bad reviews on yelp and other social media sites. Here is what happened.
At the Vons location in Tarzana 18439 Ventura Blvd Tarzana, CA 91356 my friend was severely harassed by the store manager. She was shopping there in the morning and was cornered by the manager who accused her of stealing. Not only did he corner her he also asked 3 other employees to stand in a circle around her. My friend and I are new born Christians, go to church every Tuesday and Sunday and in every way imaginable are outstanding citizens and community members! The extreme harassment by the Vons manager and staff (who, of course, was encouraged by the so-called-manager) lasted for a while, my friend was finally let go.
Thinking the manager was just having a bad day she went back to talk to him reasonably, hoping to get some sort of an apology. Instead, the manager started using profanities, raised his voice and eventually made her cry!
I have never heard of anything like this happen before. I was wondering if it could do with racism since my friend is black, but so was the manager himself. It could be sexism since the manager decided to pick on a girl and make her feel unworthy.
What kind of a sick individuals do you hire? Are there any background checks before you hire anyone? I am on the verge of calling an attorney as well since this is harassment of the more disgusting and disturbing kind.
Sincerely,
Camilla

On November 01, 2016 Francisco at your store located at Lincoln & Harbor in Fullerton California 130 W. Lincoln Ave.. @ 12:30pm I was checking out, and came to Francisco checkout line, and he told me to go to the next cashier; because he was closed. In my shopping cart there was almost $200.00 dollars worth of merchandise. I moved to the next cashier that he indicated. It was an extremely long line with 7 people in front of me. I asked if there were any other checkers that were open; because this was an extremely long line. They then indicated that there was a check stand open right now. So I went there, and it was person who had told me to move. There were two people in front of me when I got to the front I asked Francisco why he had told me to move to a longer line. He said sorry about that with an attitude. I put all merchandise on the conveyor belt, and I still had two big bottles of water in my cart. He told me I had to put the water on the counter. I told him there was no room, and they were two heavy. He again with the same attitude said sorry about that. He not being apologetic at all. He again said sorry about that, but I need you to put the water on the counter. At that point I said keep your merchandise, an I walked out of the store. But Francisco had to take a final shot, and again with the same attitude said SORRY ABOUT THAT. I asked to speak with the General Manager, and was told Francisco was the General Manager.
If this is an example of the type of person that Von’s promotes to General Manager; then you will lose many more customer not just myself. I love store at Imperial & Beach in La Habara. Maybe you don’t care that you are losing a good customer, but can Francisco buy all of the products you sell by himself? I think not, you need good customers like myself. I wonder why I was treated this way, and I’m not a young kid. Grocery Stores usually help mature people, but not Francisco he made me like there was something wrong with me.

There would be more complaints on corporate but you’ve strategically hidden this entry area!!! The locations themselves have several complaints.

I don’t know what’s happening in coporate but I can guarantee the customer won’t remain loyal much longer. Already 70 plus complaints on the “Nextdoor” page. The loss of seasoned trained employee for kids with no clue is not customer friendly. Customers are forced to bag themselves and are ignored. Stock isn’t organized due to lack of direction. Stock is depleted and service lines are horrific. A business should be like family. To much Mommy time races delinquent children. Some sacrifice is necessary to raise worthy adults. I spend well over $500 a week and we are a retired family of two. Actual families of size are equally dissatisfied. Your lack of concern will affect your profit line. Ralph’s isnt that far nor Smart and final. Fed up! Even the drugstore has lacked direction. You don’t want to screw that up!

I was appalled at the service my daughter received being checked out the a cashier named Robin at the Foothill and Euclid Avenue Vons On Friday the 4th of October.
Robin greeted us scanned the few items we had and totaled our order. My daughter scanned her ebt card and the amount dropped to the taxable amount. Robin then coped and attitude and Said “that will be 34.96 on the card I guess” and my daughter felt like dirt. Robin never said thank you or anything else to us, she started talking the customer behind us. Correct me if I’m wrong but ebt, cash, credit or check are all acceptable forms of payment. For Robin to pass Judgement towards someone without knowing the cirXXXXstances it JUST WRONG IN MY BOOK. It will be a long time before we go back. We will shop at a store who appreciates our business.
Thank you Patti R.

Your Ref: Service Denied !
Today at 12.55 P.M. I went to the Vons Pavilions store located at Broadway and Lincoln Blvd. Santa Monica Ca. 90401 and I immediately got some Ice from The soda machine dispenser. There was an Asian Lady with an I.D. Tag waiting on line at the Deli’s, who gave and utter strange look. Please do find out her as she must have been “The Culprit” starting all the commotion. Since I was on my way to the beach I had proceeded to leave my two carry on bags at the main entrance. Then I went inside the store to get the items I needed to buy. I was trying to find the aisle with the mineral water, when all of the sudden I was confronted out by a rather forsaken american/Japanese manager by the name Alan Tomita, who stated to me that I could not leave any bags up front of the store and I should take them outside to (Sic) the parking lot.
In spite of Vons Pavilions employing security guards on their premises they are not issuing numbers for checked personal bags from customers. In fact. security guards just stand by ?
I informed this “Forsaken Manager” that should I leave my bags outside on the parking lot I most likely would not find them lying around anymore with the great thievery going on nowadays on unattended bags in City Of Santa Monica. The forsaken Alan Tomita gave stern orders to the cashier/register Not to allow me to pay for the 2 items I intended to buy. Period.
Service Denied ! I found the conduct of your Vons shift managers regrettably and it really amount to elder’s abuse and utter discrimination. In the last One year alone this is my 3rd complain Online against managers of this Vons particular store. I had been told Not to even bring a grocery car into the premises..Mind you my Grandmother and mother always
were bringing one and they mostly still do. Since Vons Pavilions Corporation really discriminates against Senior Citizens even denying Service. I have Not option but to report you to the proper U.S. authorities and I instruct my lawyers to file legal remedy actions against your Vons Corporation for Discrimination and Elder’s abuse. You are hereby officially notified upon. On previous e-mails I let you know about a different white young shift manager acting out on the same issues. ( I called him “An Acute Mentally Retarded Individual” and right now there is indeed a Second One. What in the world is going on with your stores ?
I even showed up all the receipts from previous purchases from at lest 2 weeks prior at your stores to “The Forsaken Alan Tomita as I always pay up for my items. Well, Vons Pavilions
receipts will indeed come handy now that I shall be filing a legal action against your stores.

Last Thursday I went shopping @Vons on 3rd & Vermont. When the cashier packed my groceries he handed me the 1st bag. I reached for it & it was heavy. I looked inside he had put my produce at the bottom of the bag.I told him Why did he do that? &I repacked that bag saving my bruised produce. When i turned around he was helping the next customer & refused to bag my groceries. He called someone else over & in spanish( like i wouldn’t understand him) told the girl that i got mad at the way he bagged my groceries & since i had my own preferance on how my groceries should be bagged i should bag them myself! He went back to the customer behind me/Never finished bagging my purchace. NEVER in the years i have shopped at Vons have i been treated like that by a Cashier!!! This markets cashier whose name is Kevin was so very RUDE!!! I will shop at Ralphs fr now on…I don’t need to be treated like that by a meer rude cahier!!!!!!

Hello, I would like to tell you about what I saw 1 day about 2 or 3 weeks ago my address is Henderson, Nevada my neighbor is nearby. My neighbor is handicapped and gets many deliveries and it was not the first delivery from these drivers as they addressed him by name. Now it had been VERY windy the night before. these men took the time to pick up this mans trash which had been blown ALL over his yard. That may not seem like a big deal but when the temperature is 116 EVERYTHING outside is a big deal. I just thought their supervisor should be aware of this, I am one of the first to complain so I like to also give props when i see this sort of thing which is just being nice. Kindness often goes unrecognized.

I am a frequent shopper of Pavilions located in Simi Vally, Calif. last Sunday I went to pick up a few things needed for dinner. Passing by one of the check stands I heard a dog barking!! A dog on a leash with his owner. It was not a service dog! No one said anything about the dog being in the store. This is not the first time I have been in the store when someone has had their pet with them. I this. Health issue? Since when are pets allowed in a grocery store. Another time I was in this store, the owner let the dog run loose. While in the produce area the dog decided to pee where other people were getting their fruit!! I complained. Someone could have slipped on the pee. Once again nothing has been done! This is a health issue. There are no postings saying no pets allowed. The management says that people don’t like it when asked to remove their pets. One person said”what’s the difference? There are babies with dirty diapers sitting in the grocery baskets! What are you going to do about this matter? I can understand when you see a service dog with his owner.
I can’t understand why this store allows pets to come in. There should be a sign at each entry that states no dogs allowed except for service DOGS. This is the 4th occasion that this has occurred . I have talked to a manager but each time get the same bullXXXXX answer. I shop there because it is convenient and I have gotten to know some of the checkers. I hope this problem gets resolved!
Joey says
To Patty – I CAN understand if a dog’s running loose & any puddles of pee are deposited, but some of the people in the store, who pick their noses, haven’t washed their hands, the hands that constantly touch & handle the very same items that you do. (Sure hope you don’t eat at restaurants) Unfortunately among other disgusting things people do can’t be controlled and THEY can pass human bacteria & viruses. At least with a dog it is limited to what it can make contact with and you can see it. Also, when your groceries get scanned and put into your bag, have you thought not only who maybe touched them, but the checkers themselves handle currency from everybody all day long and they have to touch your containers, etc. to ring up a price. Money is one of the filthiest things you can handle! If there ARE “serious” issues with some of the dogs, I understand and those owners should definitely be addressed and not permitted back, but do you think a “Service Dog” affects health conditions in a market any differently than a well-disciplined dog just because it has a special jacket on and as you are well aware legally, are allowed in a market because of someone’s specific needs? I shop at Pavilions as well and because of your vehement attitude, you expect the Vons Corporation, oh, to be a bit crude here – bend over because YOU want it done and you’re a customer there? I know you believe that you’re more important by the vocabulary and the threatening babble you spew. Just a thought about a more “important” issue -, There are people on your way home that you pass (if you even look), some who are hungry and it’s not because all of them want to be there. If they are over 50 the odds of them getting a job again are almost nil. If you choose not to believe that then I guess you should spend your time complaining about anything and everything that bothers. You do have the right to complain, everyone does, but don’t make it seem like it’s WWWIII important. Also, try to remember – YOU are not the only person who shops at that store!
I also, wonder if you have a dog – that doesn’t fit in a purse……………..
Hope says
Joey, you’re absolutely right about letting dogs roam around in grocery stores. Who cares if they pee or defacate and it gets on customers or produce. Pets should also be allowed in operating rooms too. Why not? With your reasoning their poop can’t be any dirtier than the patient’s.

Seems to me that you’re running into a lot of complaints from customers and employees alike , a lot .
Why is it that you’re company seems to have terrible management in place 99% of the time ?
I am looking for a position to help eradicate this ( if such exists ) .
Of course we’ve all experienced UP’s and downs in grocery stores .
To do a job of anything takes plain old common sence . The rest is learned as anything else .
I hope corporate gets this . I’m inexperienced at all areas yes . But like I stated earlier , takes common since .

I usually don’t like making complaints, but this is the third time I have purchased something that had a sale price on it and it always turns out being original price! If you’re going to have sale prices out make sure it’s in the system I shouldn’t have to waste my time coming back to the store because they don’t take their time making sure it’s not an old price tag or just not updating the system for sale prices! Very annoying!

Wed., May 25: I purchased luncheon meat at 9:30 AM this morning and was disappointed to see the woman using the meat slicer without placing tissue wrap on the table to gather the product beforehand. In the past this has never happened before – but I said nothing. However, upon inspecting the ham product at lunch time I noted a scrap, or small cutting, on the top or bottom slice and threw the entire package out. What more can be said?
The store is located 1820 Ximeno Ave in Long Beach, CA. Please look into the matter for the sake of others.

Some medications by law cannot be filled except for every 30 days to the day. Though I have been going to the same drugstore for 25 years they are now telling me that they cannot order the medication ahead of time so it will be available. They are telling me to call 7 days in advance and ask them to order it i.e. – do their job for them. Then they say that if someone else comes in ahead of my medication due date they will then give it to them instead. I was unable to get my full number this month which required me to literally drive several miles to my doctor and wait almost an hour to get a new prescription for the remainder of the pills they did not have. This was due to thier not being able to fill the remainder of the pills within a three day time frame as required by law. I brought it in and once again they did not have it. They said to call back in 3 days as it was ‘on order’. I did and they still did not have it. They claimed to have ordered it but who knows. This is unacceptable. Vons has TERRIBLE customer service not to mention high prices. How do you stay in business?? If this is not addressed I am taking my drugstore business and my grocery business elsewhere. Who is in charge of this drugstore?? unbelievable!!!!

This post is not to talk about the cleanliness or about the produce.
I am very disappointed with this store.
So I was in Vons today and noticed they left one of the floor drains uncovered, I was infuriated when I saw this. The reason I was so upset is that this is same floor drain that was uncovered last year. While shopping at vons MY foot went inside THIS floor drain. My foot went inside the drain injuring my ankle /foot I tripped but luckily my husband was in the right place at the right time and caught me from falling forward and hitting myself on one of the displays they have out.
Now I’m not a person that likes to complains and make a big, So I simply walked over to the employee by where I was injured and told her what had just happened to me and she said” oh yeah my foot went in there earlier” and she giggled. I told her well you probably should go cover it before someone gets hurt again. (Just want to mention this girl was young and looked like it was her 1st job and I felt bad so I did not tell the manager about my encounter with her.) So on our way home I called vons and asked to speak with the manager. The manager was really nice and concerned he asked me where it happened. I then told him what part of the store I had been injured in, he walked over to the spot while on the phone with me and saw the uncovered floor drain he immediately began apologizing and said he had no idea why that floor drain was left uncovered. He asked me to come back to the store and fill out a report, just in case this was something more than just a sprain and I needed medical attention So after I went home to Let my dogs out to the bathroom I went back to Vons and spoke with the manager in person. I let him know my foot was hurting and showed him where it was hurting he told me that Some one from vons would be calling me on Monday since the injury happened on a weekend. So Wednesday morning I get a call from a woman. She introduces herself and begins to ask me questions about what happened. I walk her through it , then she apologizes me and tells me that she would contact me later and and maybe they can give me a gift card or something. I was like ookay… then she says ok well call me back in a couple days and let me know how your feeling. I call her back on Thursday and tell her my foot pain has gotten worse that it is hurting really bad and it is very swollen and I’m actually going to go see a doctor. She then starts to tell me” well just so you know we are not liable for this accident”. I was speechless.. I didn’t want to argue with her. After talking to the manager and him telling me let’s fill out a report just in case your foot gets worse and you need medical attention for it. I was just shocked that she would say it. She was really rude and I honestly don’t understand why she reacted that way.Anyways sorry for the long story. I’m just really upset me to see that this same floor drain was left uncovered.
It has been about a year and I am still struggling with my foot and my ankle now I have this pain through my whole leg all the way up to my hip area. I have not been able to work like I need to work to make the money I need. Some days I have to call of my work because the pain gets so bad that I just lay there and cry. Things like spills happen and sometimes stores don’t spot them fast enough.. but this accident was caused by someone who was careless.
We live really far from any other grocery stores so this is pretty much where I go almost daily to buy my groceries and the worst part about this whole incident is sometimes when I go into vons I get attitude from some of the employees who are aware that I hurt myself in there.

You have two years from the date of accident to file a lawsuit for your damages. An incident like this is clear liability on the part of the store. I would contact an attorney.

I used the Vons delivery service. They left out the steaks I had ordered. They were not delivered. I called the dot com manager at the Fontana store – she was already aware of it. I asked her if the steaks could be delivered and she said she would check and placed me on hold. She came back and said I would have to call their regular customer service to get it scheduled on the later delivery. That Vons made the error and it seems are unable to rectify the screw up on their own. I think that says something about how efficient the policies that are in place are. I did call customer service, waited 20mins for the phone to be picked up, and now am waiting for the 2 packages of steak to be delivered. Hopefully.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDE! I do not have the other UPCs with me I put my things in the car and I’m in karate. your store is around from my sons karate class so we’re there almost everyday but Sunday. I won a monopoly free 8 pack of soda, the cashier Clarence was so rude. He said, “I don’t know how to do this you have to wait “. I also made a purchase after that, he didn’t give me time to put in my card #. With the first transaction I put in a different # but the second he ended too soon.
I told them after I looked at the receipt, he said ” the managers on break, you have to wait. ” then yelled, “Christina, can you give her a refund ?” She was bagging groceries and said, ” you can’t refund alcohol.” I replied,” I don’t want a refund, I just want my club price.” She rolled her eyes. A gentleman offered to help me, she was bagging, I said, ” there’s no need for you to be rude.” She said with an attitude, ” I wasn’t. You were the rude one.”
I wouldn’t treat someone I didn’t like like this. Why do you hire people that don’t want to work with people? I will never go to ANY VONS again!! I was so embarrassed. I can care less about your monopoly game.
These people don’t even know who I am. I’ve let the owner of the USSD, karate school, all the teachers, all the parents I know, not to go there and how I was treated. I’ll be letting my sons baseball teams parents know, and the members of the church. I’m involved in a lot of the community. Hello, I recently shopped at the Culver City Pavilions store on 10-3-2015 around 7pm. On my way out after check out I happen to use the Men’s restroom and noticed how their was urine on the floor which is a California health and safety code violation.
I brought this to the night manager’s attention ( female) and she admitted to me that the store always asked the clerk employees to clean both restrooms but they sometimes don’t. She said they are working on it. In the meantime my nice men’s sandals have stepped in urine from the toilet that sits on the wall. I ask her it she thought it was ok.
She gave me this look. I was pissed off because what she did not know was this happened to me before at this same store back in 2011 or 2012. I filed a complaint then and they gave me a $50.00 courtesy shopping card for my troubles.
Is it that hard for them to clean the restrooms. ? How lazy can you be. ? Not to mention one could slip down and break their neck and the store could face a million dollar lawsuit because of some lazy employee which spells negligent on management.
I’ve been to better run Pavilions before so I know when management is on their job. The West Hollywood store is a good example in my opinion. The employees their have a passion for what they do, they ask you questions, They explain if something is out and ask for your number to contact you back or will make a call for you to find something they don’t have. Also, their eating area and restrooms are clean.
Not so for Culver City. That store manager apparently just does not give a dam. I can say this because I filed a complaint about urine on the floor in the same restroom in either 2011 or 2012. They are still deficient in keeping the store clean.
Also, I Demand The Von’s Companies or pavilions to buy me a new pair of men’s sandals since I threw away the ones I had on after I had to step in the urine on the restroom floor.
This is the second time this has happened to me at the same store. Its been a little over 2 years maybe 3.

My name is Julie I live in Laguna Beach California and I have been attending this CVS in Laguna Beach for 20+ years. I am very chagrined to be treated the way I was treated by the drugstore manager who’s name is “Nastran” . Four days ago I took my prescription written by my position into be filled the drugstore told me I could pick it up the next day as I return to the drugstore to pick up my medication they told me that it was now new company policy that they could not refill my medication within the same 30 day. However my physician wrote a new prescription for me because I could no longer tolerate the low amount of medication I have beentaking on a daily basis. I called back and spoke to the drugstore manager and she indicated that she could feel my medication and she had the ability to override the system so I’m leaving on a trip to go across country my medication is out the pharmacist concerned but yet willing to fill my medication for me once again did not tell the truth. This morning prior to my trip I called to confirm that my medication was ready for pick up. Once again the drugstore manager indicated to me that she was unable to fill my prescription therefore causing me to miss my airline flight out of state. I need resolution to this immediately please respond to the email listed in this contact.

I am writing to complain about a supervisor named Sharon at the Santee, CA store. I went in the store to get a few items and she was ringing customers up and I happened to go through her line. She was very rude. Did not even say hello. I noticed she was not wearing a name badge and I had to ask another worker what her name was. I was surprised when I found out she was a supervisor. If this is how the supervisors are going to treat customers then I will no longer be shopping at Von’s. There are other stores where I am pretty sure I will be treated a lot better than how she treats her customers.

I’m a regular at the Von’s in Mira Mesa. I had my grandmother with me and she is very elderly and disabled. I can understand how it can be an inconvenience from a cashiers stand point when it comes to dealing with WIC checks but was shocked how I was treated. I had the manager tell me that if I should be shopping at the WIC store and me pay the difference if the items I bought that were on the list that was not produce. I tried to show her the guide book and how I grabbed the items that had the symbols on the shelf but refused to look and just kept cutting me off. Insisting to just go to the WIC store. It’s 8:30 pm and nobody helped us bag out groceries. So my grandma and I had to do it with my baby in the other arm. Once we did get someone to finally bag the last couple of items. They didn’t offer assistance to help out. I reached out to the assistant manager only to have him cut me off on the phone the moment I mentioned WIC. He told me he’s on meeting and to call me back later. Didn’t offer to call mr back. Nothing. I was shocked again. If his meeting was so important then why did he take my call in the beginning. Like I said I can understand how processing WIC checks can be a hassle but times are hard and sadly I need the assistance of WIC. I just don’t understand why my grandma and I had to treated so low. I felt so discriminated.

Sunday October 12 Montecito 11:30 a.m. I stood in line for several minutes , bought over $200 worth of groceries and had to bag it all myself. There was one young lady bagging and a second employee outside in the parking area. The manager was on the phone with his back to the check-out area for the whole period of my standing inline and bagging my own groceries. I have been buying milk in glass bottles for several months now from the same store and there is still no efficient way for the checkers to give me the rebate. They leave their position and have to talk to other employees to find out what to do. With a long line forming this is time wasting and frustrating. I have a choice in where to shop and if you check my history I am a customer who shopped with Safeway then Vons since 1985 in Montecito.

Vons on Zion Ave. San Diego, Allied Gardens. Nov. 22, 2016. I am 76 years old and handicapped and they would not lend me a bag for 4 items that I bought. I had parked outside the store in a handicapped parking space and would have bought the bag back. They still would not lend me a bag so I picked up a carrier with handle to take my 4 items to my car. I was told I could not take the carrier out. I did anyway and tossed it back to the clerk as he ran past my car. He said I was no longer allowed in the store. I thanked him. Last trip of mine to Vons.
