Vienna Beef was founded in 1893 by two Austrian immigrants, Emil Reichel and Sam Ladany in Chicago, Illinois. During the Columbian Exposition in 1894, the pair sold traditional hot dogs to fair goers. Later, they opened a store on the West side of Chicago. By 1900, the company began selling their products to restaurants and stores.
Today, Vienna Beef still makes hot dogs the same way they did in 1893, only in a newer factory. During the Great Depression, the company began selling what they called, Hot Dogs with a Salad on Top. This combination of onions, pickle relish, tomatoes, and mustard soon became known as the Chicago Dog.
In 2015, annual revenue for Vienna Beef was $130 million. The company still sell their product to restaurants, such as Portillo’s, grocery stores, as well as through their active eCommerce website.

To whom it may concern,(and it should concern everyone)?i tried since Friday to place an order on line first wait time was 44:38 and I was told by the animated person it would be five minutes or less I hung up redialled got the same message stayed on my phone and registered in another 40 minutes and 30 seconds hung up again and waited till the following day this time they said if I wanted to keep my place I could leave my number and they would call me back in an hour no one called me back and it’s now Sunday still no one called me back I put another phone call in there was no message saying you didn’t work the weekends if that was the case your phone system needs to be updated immediately I finally waited till Monday called and got a young man named Andy who went out of his way to take my order placed it and get through all the problems that I had had but all the stories didn’t amount to anything when nothing is going to be done it’s still the same you need to do something about your online ordering it is atrocious it puts people off and I’m sure it would stop people from going to your stores as well I might only be a small voice in the big scheme of things but if it no one listens to me the problem could only get worse instead of better and if no one answers me then obviously the problem is far worse than first thought so hopefully someone listens and reads this email and takes it to heart and possibly give me a call back but I don’t want to hear anymore sorry the stories that I got are all empty like it’s a busy weekend we’re busy on the phones what has that got to do with me when I’m waiting 40 and 50 minutes each time it has nothing to do with me then there’s a problem with your phone service nothing and as far as I’m concerned it may be a great company but it won’t be for long at this rate yours truly Hilda Defranco !PS if I’ve taking the time out of my busy Day to write you this email the very least you could do is acknowledge it thanks again Hilda?????
