Upon arrival at the home we rented, people were living there! How do you take our money, send us emails with lock box code, wifi, etc and then not have it available??? We had just driven 1100+ miles! After hours on the phone we were offered a home 90 miles away which did not fit our needs. The fault was VACASA’s not ours and yet we paid the penalty for your company’s mistake! Tired, exhausted and angry we drove to a friend’s house and slept on the couches. Due to hurricane Ian, there were no motels available so we drove back to Ohio after 2 days sleeping on couches. I do not feel that “we are so sorry about this mistake” makes up for the cost and anguish of ruining our vacation. Hopefully, we will get the money we paid for the rental back but we should be compensated for VACASA’s errors. I wonder how you would feel if this happened to you?!?

I have a condo in Panama City Beach, Fl and waiting to get reimbursed for an overcharge that they agreed to pay. It has not been paid and they are not responding to my emails. I was double charged for the same service. Please advise!

I’m curious…does anyone holding a position at Vacasa care to read and respond to client concerns? I mean someone with more power than telemarketer-type workers who field calls. I’m referring to a person in a position to offer a meaningful (not canned) reply.

I was promised a $1200 + refund from a stay In July, I still have not received it! And no one seems to care too much at Vacasa.

Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY !!
My wife and I scheduled a reservation at Pirates Bay A, for the month of August 2021. When we learned that there was a tropical storm moving in, which was going to certainly lead to 90%-100% torrential rainfall and strong winds, we contacted Vacasa in an attempt to reschedule, not cancel our reservation. Which is understandable, given the weather circumstances, which is BEYOND our control.
The customer service representative, who was rudely abrupt on the phone, said that there wasn’t anything we can do. And I quote…she says..’ its your problem, not ours’. Really, are you serious. Am I in the freaking Twilight Zone.
For Vacasa to be that inflexible, not matter what the ‘rules’ say…and to not work with us so that my wife and I don’t have to spend our money and time, during a tropical storm. Its just unbelievable…just unacceptable.
Enjoy the money you make off of us Vacasa and Pirates Bay, because it’ll be a cold day in hell before I do business with you again.
And anybody dealing with this sham of a business, think long and hard before you commit to using them. They are not at ALL customer flexible or friendly.

Horrible company. Do not rent from them. They do not respond to telephone calls and do not even try to contact you. I made the mistake of using this company for a beach trip and WOW!!! Just plain horrible.

I put up with Vacasa’s incompetent management for a year, hoping it would get better, it only got worse. I would add my voice to those saying, “Stay away from this company, both for rental and property management!” They are liars and the best you can hope for is mediocrity. I have rented from them and rented property through them, they were terrible at both.
Elvira martinez says
You are right!! Sane with me we have demand this company in court they want your money doing nothing

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY SO FAY MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE AND I HAVEN’T EVEN STAYED AT ONE OF THERE RENTALS! I had received an email stating “In order to comply with this order, we’re asking you to formally cancel your reservation.” So I did and was denied a full refund to my credit card only a credit for a future stay, due to the COVID 19. So I called last week and the phones were busy, of course, so I email like it said to keep the lines open for people who had stays coming up sooner. So big surprise I never received a response back, so I called today and spent a total of an hour wasting my time for someone to put me on hold for 20 minutes and tell me I have 1 option and 1 option only because I did purchase some stupid protection plan that states “Trip Protection is a cancellation fee waiver that applies if you cancel your reservation for a covered reason.”. So basically I had to cancel because I was told to and because of that they found a loop hole so I would have been screwed either way because I canceled I can’t get a refund and if I would of keep the reservation I would not have been able to go, LOSE LOSE SITUATION SO NO,STAY FAR AWAY FORM THIS COMPANY AND GO WITH AIRBNB EVEN BEACH VACATION RENTALS HAD NICER POLICIES. BY THE WAY THEY KEEP CHANGE THERE POLICIES SO YOU CAN READ SOMETHING TODAY BUT 2 DAYS FROM NOW IT WILL PROBABLY CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEP HORRIBLE COMPANY

vacationed at a condo in Ocean City, Md. On entering the condo, woodwork was filthy, shower curtains are disgustingly dirty and i don’t think they were changed from last year!! Ewww! dirty showers/tub and I thought the spiket in the showers felt like they were going to fall off the tub wall! I called the 503 number and the girl told me she would put in a request for shower curtains, HA, HA!! what joke! never showed. I was totally sleeved out about these shower curtains! They contacted me to extend our vacation for $79.00. Seriously? is this the way they get away with not cleaning the place?? NO THANKS!

My husband, father, and myself own a condo in Park City- a little property we invested money in in hopes to try and make some money for our growing family.
I am now 8 months pregnant and have been dropped by Vacasa, which we signed up for 3 months ago because it was becoming too hard for me to manage the property as pregnant as i was- now as i’m nearing delivery- they leave me holding the bag– and are sending me invoices for services.
They have cancelled on us without any reason or written cancellation. They now refuse to speak to me on the phone.
The story is a lot deeper than this- including the 3 month period leading up to this point, but has hit a breaking point leaving an 8 month pregnant woman stressed, with a hefty invoice, and a breached contract.
M Limperis says
I worked for Vacasa up on Cape Cod. After 2 weeks of work, I submitted my invoice with a rate of pay at $18.00 per hour. My supervisor told me I should be requesting $25.00 per hour. I thought that was strange. 2 weeks go by, no pay, and I submit another invoice to be paid for work I did. It’s been 5 weeks and I have yet to receive a paycheck. Why? When I contact my supervisor I get a different excuse every time. I am beginning to suspect some kind of fraud.

My mom, has a beautiful 3 bedroom condo in Ocean City, Md and wanted to rent it out. She was promised she would not have to worry about anything and Vacasa takes care of everything! She was promised families or couples would be renting it, with a maximum of 6 people. Well, the first two rentals were big groups of loud, young people that disturbed the neighbors at all hours and did not care about the property. Vacasa does not check who is renting the property and lies to the property owners to get the business! Property owners, beware!!
Sally Johnson says
Horrible horrible experience!! Rented a 106 year old musty smelling with a junky kitchen house that had water that was rusty smelly well water. This house was falsely advertised with doctored pictures and didn’t show the 1960 toilets with yellow stained toilet seats and carpeting in the bathrooms. We rented using the pictures for $245 a night for 10 nights. I can’t get my $2600 refund for nine nights staying only one miserable night in a hot upstairs that was advertised as whole house air conditioned. Vacasa will not let you speak or email a manager. Their policy is to keep everything secret. No refunds! Stay away from this fraudulent company!
Andy Nelson says
Wow, I have never been treated so horribly. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. I will have to contact my lawyer and the state of Oregon to try and get my money back. Thanks for the great 20th anniversary stay. Not!
Jim says
This is by far the worst company we have ever dealt with. We no longer have them rent our house out. Do yourself a favor and do not use them as a renter or an owner.
Bill Waring says
Vacasa took over for the company that managed my property in Idyllwild, CA, and did a terrible job, quite frankly. I cancelled my contract after being lied to by their local manager in early June of 2016. My May statement shows a $500 balance due me but I cannot get a return call from anyone. On July 5, I spoke to Amy who was very pleasant. She said she would try to help me but it is now July 15 and I have heard nothing, and nobody answers the phone at the Vacasa corporate office. I left a message today and hope again to hear from someone. This is not a company I would recommend.
Nicole says
We are trying to get into the house and the lockbox to get the key won’t open and NO one is answering phones. I have 3 boys that are hungry and tired. We did not drive 14 hours NOT to be able to get ahold of someone.
Rob says
Yep, second the comment about not answering their phones. Unprofessional.
Dawn Robison says
Does not answer the phones. How does this make your stay comfortable if you air conditioner does not work.
