On February 18-19 the biggest snow storm of winter hit Utah. A friend and I had already planned breakfast and she had chosen a different restaurant. On Monday morning it was still snowing, so I called and offered to pick my friend up and drive us to The Original Pancake House. It was much closer than the restaurant she had chosen. At 8:20 in heavy snow, we arrived at your 11400 So. State Street, Sandy, Ut location. We ordered and received our food about 15 minutes later. At 9:13am shortly after paying our bill, we were asked to leave because there were people waiting. I was terribly embarrassed because I had changed our plans to come here for our safety. In shock, we got up to leave right away and saw only two small parties waiting to be seated. The waitress who asked us to leave was sitting talking to one of the groups as though she knew them. I will ever return again.

We have been going to The Original Pancake House for years in Dallas. One open up in Irving, TX at 510 W. LBJ Freeway. I wasn’t crowded like the others when we walked in it was only about ten people there, oh yell! It was on the 4th of July 2017 @ 10:04 AM
That was the worst customer service we ever had.
We will wait for 5 to 30 minutes at the others BUT will never sit foot in that one again.
We also told of friends on Facebook , etc…..
The Manager didn’t call back or reply to the email we (Jose Perez)

I used to frequent TOPH down in Stone Mountain, GA. I had to stop going for awhile because I was spending too much money there. I usually don’t have a problem there, I know a few of the staff. But today was a totally different experience. The place wasn’t that packed, but it took 30 mins for us to be seen. Our waitress greeted us with an attitude and said that our server refused to serve us because we don’t tip. Mind you, it’s been 2-3 months since I stepped into the establishment. And I had my family with me. They were very cold to us and the atmosphere was simply uncomfortable, and needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t know what could be done to resolve this, but as of now, I will no longer be spending money at TOPH. Food is great, but service is terrible.

There are 2 locations in all of Colorado and they are way north. What about putting one in Castle Rock? We have 2 breakfast places that close at 2 and they are always packed. Wanna make money? Add a location here.

I am trying to contact someone at the Corporate level regarding a combination bad service and bad food that occurred today, August 22nd, at your Salt Lake City restaurant location. The situation was handled extremely poorly by the “manager on duty”, and I would like to relate the cirXXXXstances of this meal to the proper corporate customer service representative so that it can be addressed in a much more professional manner.
Please call me, Randy Johnson, at the following phone number: 801-830-XXXXX.
Thank you in advance for your help with this matter’s resolution.

My husband and I have gone to eat at the Original Pancake House in Yorba Linda Ca many times and have had great service. We live in Santa Fe Springs Ca. And decided to try the one in Whittier. Turned out to be a big mistake, we gave our name and waited 45 min to be called. Many customers came in and were seated, as we waited. When we asked why these customers were seated before us they told us that they called before they came. They asked for our phone number and said they would text us as soon as a table was ready. There was only the two of us no party of 6 or 7 and yet we waited. We left and proceeded to go down the road to put a tire on our truck and went to Marie Callendars for breakfast. While we were eating we got the text our table was ready mind you this was about 1 hour. We have never experienced anything like this. Their system of seating their customers does not work. The Pancake House in Yorba Linda is bigger with many more customers and we have been seated soon. Hats off to Yorba Linda hands down to La Habra

My recent visit to an I hop in Hammond Louisiana was pure distress. When entering the restaurant I noticed an cook in his apron and id badge and several waitresses outside in the front of the establishment smoking. When My wife and entered no one was available to seat us. After approximately 5 minutes we were seated by a young lady who was very nice and apologized for the wait. She seated us and took our order but was cut off by another waitress who began to have a verbal altercation about who’s table it was that continued for some time. Once this issue was settled the second waitress began to take our order. My wife ordered a cheese omelet but asked to hold the cheese sauce. The waitress inquired to why my wife did not want the cheese sauce . My wife explained that the cheese sauce was often runny and she did not like the texture. The waitress then spent several minutes trying to convince my wife that the cheese sauce tasted great and wondered if she would like to try it one more time. My wife said she did not and She then asked what I wanted. I replied I wished to have two eggs over easy with hash browns, two strips of bacon and two sausage links. She then said that I should pick something from the menu selection to be sure of gaining the best possible price. She then continued that if I did not pick a menu selection, my meal would be extremely expensive and that I should pick from the menu. I told to pick something for me and that the expense would be Ok. She continued explaining that the meal is not worth the cost if I did not pick a meal from the menu. I again told her it would be OK and to please proceed with my order. This time she said that there are many options and wanted to discuss each. After several minutes of this in full view of the public, I finally told her I was no longer hungry and did not wish to order. She then became obviously upset and proceeded to go to her manager and busted out in tears stating I had shouted at her. This was so unexpected that I felt distressed at the obvious scene occurring in the middle of the restaurant with all eyes on me as if I was an assailant. My wife at this point stated she did not want her meal and asked to leave. The manager walked to my table and asked what I had done to make her waitress cry and why did I shout at her waitress. My wife calmly stated that no one shouted at anyone. I tried to explain that I had tried to order my breakfast but the ordeal had lead me to regret coming into the restaurant and wished to leave and please prepare our check for the coffee. She ignored my request for the check and said she had a waitress that “could handle me” and walked away with an obvious glair of distain. The new waitress approached the table, a lady of some muscles and fully adorned with tattoos up and down her arms. She then asked to take my order and I stated that I now felt uncomfortable utilizing this establishment and wished to leave, just please give me the check for the coffee and we would be on our way. She stated that I should not worry and that she would protect my food and not allow anyone to spit in our breakfast. With that I stated that I definitely did not wish to eat here and asked for the check. She left and we waited for another 10 minutes while the manager and her consulted on an appropriate course of action, the third waitress finally returned to our table said the coffee was on the house. I thanked them for the coffee and proceeded to leave. I am taking the time to write to you because I have visited many I HOPs around the country but have never been treated or had the need to defend my actions with anyone. However, the condescending attitude of the manager and the actions of the staff in full public view are enough to never use I Hop again. You should also know that I write for a consumer blog about restaurants around the Town of Hammond where I live and will forward the link to my review after it is published in the next few days.
I Hop was a place my wife and did frequent at least three times a week but I assure you there are just too many choices available to accept this type of treatment. You should know that at no time did I raise my voice or insult anyone however the actions of the waitress and the lady manager did not reflect customer service in any way and the body language of the manager only indicated distain for my wife and myself. I am of the firm belief that this type of service will in the end assure a failed operation and you may wish to discuss this with your franchise owner for appropriate action.
Best regards
