Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning.
In 2004, Elon Musk led a round of Series A funding for the company and became Chairman of the Board. Musk took an active role in the design and development of the Tesla Roadster.
Musk also led 2 additional rounds of funding in 2006 and 2007. He eventually had put $70 million of this own money into the company.
In 2008, Musk succeeded Ze’ev Drori as CEO. Production of the Roadster began.
In 2010, the company went public.
In 2012, the company began to produce and deliver the Tesla Model S after receiving nearly 7000 preorders. The Model X is also introduced with production planned to begin in 2014.
Today, Tesla produces 100% electric vehicles.
In September 2020, the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced that he would produce a $25,000 Model S before the end of 2023.
Also in September, a video shows what appears to be a Tesla 3 autopilot car running over a dummy pedestrian. The company has been criticized for the problems its braking software appears to contain.

Mr. Musk,
My name is Steve Ruiz. I read that you have banned the use of ZOOM Meeting within your company. My company D-CLEAR.COM is in the process of developing a fully secured total blockchain communications solution which we believe can be a benefit to your company if used. We are a few months away from the completion of our MVP but would like to know if Tesla Motors would be interested in beta testing our product once completed? If so we would be willing to allow your company to maintain use of our full product suite at no cost to your company.
If this is something that would be of interest to you and any of your companies please respond with the name and contact details oh who I should contact.
I look forward to speaking with you and hope to be able to offer you and your companies ease of mind when communicating sensitive information.

Hi Customer Service Team Lead,
I just took delivery of a Model 3 on December 21, 2019. I have never been excited about a car before, having always considered it a utilitarian necessity. LOVE it.
I have experienced a weakness that I think is both systemic and fixable.
At delivery, I asked for a NEMA 14-30 adapter and they instead gave me a NEMA 14-50. Nobody at the Carlsbad, CA delivery center knew what was what. I didn’t realize it until I got home. They charged me $30.
Also they didn’t email my paperwork until I asked for it over a week later, which I need for rebate applications.
I noticed the employee system interface was ludicrously poorly laid out and they stumbled through the process. I had to hand sign the loan application because the digital version kept spinning.
I had a heck of a time getting any reply, and when I finally did, they asked me to drive 60 miles to pick up the replacement part, no offer of overnighting it to me. Were I the manager I’d have driven it to my customer.
Much training is needed. My friend Deo, who also bought a Model 3 last year, said he never experienced anything like this.
Rad car, but a hobbled together service system. I believe that with simple systems and protocols this could be elevated to Tesla standards.
Thanks,
Robert

Mr. Musk, I am sending a communication consisting of an e-mail I sent to Sean Carroll of Caltech, a personal letter, a list of film mix ideas and two copies of experimental film/music mixes I have made. These things are more or less ideas I wish to share with you and your sister. I’m a laborer in Tifton, GA employed by Walmart superstore # 1072. Topics covered include science theories, new entertainment ideas, environmental issues, personal insights and autism. I believe I am an undiagnosed example of autism. I ask that you have someone examine my material for communication exchange if you see fit. By the way, I think the very idea of the company is outstanding. It indicates that someone is finally catching up to many of the things that Tesla conceived over 100 years ago. Again, I consider this to be an exchange of ideas only. I look forward to any response although I can’t realistically expect one. Like I said in my personal letter to you, “its like a guppy trying to get a whale’s attention. I hope there can be a reciprocation of information. I feel I may have much to offer you and your company but of course that will be for you to determine. I also have many insights on Earth changes and the future. All this will be explained in my forthcoming communication. I offer this in case the package is not received. “Ingenuity, imagination, resourcefulness, determination”. It seems your company has all those things going for it. Thank you for your time. By the way, the “r.g. storm” name is one I may use if I ever “get to be someone” as in filmmaking, acting or whatever. I have many talents but it takes talent to recognize talent. So I part with words I parted with in my personal letter: “Be Safe, Be Well, Be Successful” Sincerely, John (Steve)n Bowman (r.g. storm) P.S. the r.g. stands for radiometric gravity and also relentless, uh, well a Greek word for “one who knows” Thank you again for your time.

Why can’t we get through to a person in Customerservice Elon. ???
Musk needs to fire all these people and start hiring again.
I bought my wife a pre owned s as we wanted free super charging off their website. We picked it up at Burbank and the put on the plate that was in the trunk. 1 year later my wife is stopped by the Chp because they did not put the month tag on the plate they put on the car.
Not only was my wife stopped n the way to work ( she supervises 500 plus) we now have to set up a meeting with those crazy DMV people, have to take a day off work to go get it fixed and make the court appearances, and pat court fees.
Check this out there is no customer complaint telephone number to tell Tesla to be more careful. Instead I spent half hour pushing buttons until I got a sales woman to answer the phone.she had rep ” give me a call” . He gave me the I understand , nothing I can do for you, F off, your bothering my video game playing attitude. I told him his attitude was bullsheet and to have his manager call me. So far no call. Mush must be too damn busy to care about customer service once he has our money. Older professionals be forewarned!

I have been going round-and-round with Tesla energy on my newly purchased home that had their solar panels. They generated an invoice for my account in the wrong name and won’t fix it. Now my payment is late and I’m accruing fees like crazy. The account tool them so long to transfer that I owe 3 months (now 4 because they didn’t fix the invoice in time to make my payment). I can’t get anyone on the phone; on hold for 30 minutes every time. Emails are a joke. I’ve even sent them video of me opening the invoice to see it’s the wrong name and they just keep repeating the same garbage. WORST, WORST company I’ve ever dealt with in my life. You truly can’t get someone on the phone to resolve problems. I can’t even get corporate on the phone. Automated phone system does the same at corporate as it does in Customer Care.

When I purchased the vehicle on 6/8/19 from Hayes Collins, I was told the vehicle would be delivered in a few weeks thus the 6/24/19 scheduled date. Since the delivery date has changed from 6/24/19 to 6/26/19 with no guarantees of a delivery date, shouldn’t Tesla be financially responsible for not meeting their promised obligation as a condition to purchase the vehicle with rebate incentives. The fact that I may lose $1,875.00 in Federal Tax Credits because of Tesla’s miscalculations at my expense is not acceptable. I am in the process of contacting the Tesla corporate office to see what they will say about this matter and to help find a resolution.

I was scheduling the installation of two power walls. I had discussed things with Joe in Las Vegas and in detail with Dave in Portland. I thought we had a plan. But I got a call that Tim Cruze would make a site visit. Tim arrived and began what I interpreted was an attempt to upsell the instillation with comments like, “looks like you need to upgrade to a 400 panel”, and most of the installation of the circuit panels will need to be moved due to code violations. I had agreed with Dave that I would consider putting boxes on the front of the house as there is a plant that would hide the panels. Without discussion Tim stated that the plant had to go as the electricians would not come out otherwise. He also said that they would have to install a third box for the circuits that would not go through the power walls. I had discussed this with Dave and I thought we concluded that there would not be any.
After complaining to Dave about this, Dave said that he would pass it on to Tim’s supervisor. I didn’t think that was much of a response and asked for a different crew to do the work. I was told that there was no other crew.
Net result is that as much as I was looking forward to having the power walls, I felt that it was in my best interest to cancel the sale, which I have done. After buying two Teslas, and S and a 3, I am very disappointed at the poor service, the poor management and the lack of any oversite from the this part of Tesla. My glowing recommendations to friends will now have to be muted with the statement that the power division appears not to have competent management.

(My message to the Tesla Service center in Richmond Va. and Tyson Corner Va.)
I have a 2015 Tesla Model S I purchased still under Tesla Bumper to Bumper Warranty and It powered off on me in the highway witch was extremely dangerous. I took it to the Richmond Tesla which I had to pay out of pocket for towing, they looked at it and found someone had applied a zip tie on the vehicle and said that the zip tie being on my vehicle voided my warranty, the vehicle need a new drive unit which a Richmond tesla tech told me cost 8000-9000 to fix it out of my pocket, the customer service was horrible also so I paid another tow truck to pickup the vehicle and take it to Tesla in Tyson corner Va. upon arriving at that service center they greeted me with great customer service and immediately checked out the vehicle and said Hi Mr. Jones, we diagnosed your vehicle. We found that your vehicle needs a new rear drive unit due to an isolation fault, which caused the alerts you saw on the 21st. In addition, we found it needs a new left fore arm and shock bolt, and for the water leak we need a new sunroof main seal. All of this is under warranty. Now, we also found we need a new left front hub due to it missing a stud. Since this is from outside influence, it would not be covered under warranty. If you would like us to proceed with this repair, we would be looking at $220 plus tax. Let me know how you would like to proceed with that.
-Paul
After this conversation Richmond red flagged Tyson Corner and told them don’t fix my vehicle because it had a zip tie on it, I didn’t personally see the zip tie but they had pictures of the bottom of a car with a zip tie on it for all I know it could’ve been another vehicle and they just made it seem like it was mine in the pictures they didn’t show it to me and they removed it without asking me anything or showing me. So it’s kinda funny they just drop the warranty as if Tesla didn’t want me to get my vehicle fix because I’m a young African American male.
This is my message to Paul at Tyson Corner Tesla
Hey Paul I appreciate you for being so kind and excellent customer service but I would like to speak with your Tesla Manager if possible or the Regional Manager. Paying the money to fix it is no problem, but me paying for something I didn’t do or didn’t even see with my Personal eyes is not acceptable. I know I have a used 2015 but what if I had bought a new 2019 and parked it at a super charger and left it and someone put a zip tie on it and I didn’t know, would I still have to suffer the Repercussions of someone else’s wrong doing? If I did something to the vehicle I 100% agree but I purchased this vehicle for $40,000 under the impression that it was still under Tesla Warranty and they would fix any problem, if you all are not willing to fix this problem with a zip tie, what else will Tesla come up with. I had 3 friends buy new Tesla’s in Virginia off of me promoting how good the vehicles are and I have about 40 more associates looking into them, I will contact Mr. Elon Musk in every social media I have, and write bad reviews on every site and go to the news about this situation if it isn’t resolved. He told me his manager doesn’t have to talk to me!!!!!!!!!! It this issue doesn’t be resolved I will boycott Tesla and go viral!!!!!

I purchased a 2013 Tesla with air ride. This past Friday I pulled into a parking space, did NOT go over the cement tire stop, without any incident. 10 minutes later I came out, put my 140 lb. Service Dog into the back seat, opened my door started the engine and buckled my seat belt. Put the vehicle into reverse. The vehicle moved approximately 3 – 5 inches and stopped. I pulled forward and tried twice more times with the same results. There was never any scrapping sound when pulling into the space or when the vehicle stopped. Hit the IT screen to raise the vehicle to high since it was on normal 3 times. Two times it made no difference in the height. The third time it did. 2 day later my fiancé and I pulled into another parking lot, without ANY unusual sound, picked up a few ounces of food, got into the unit, buckled up, put the unit in reverse and backed out slowly since this shopping plaza is very busy. While backing up we heard a loud noise, people were looking at the front of the unit, dismounted and found that the entire front of the unit was laying on the ground. A passerby said, you must have air ride. I have (had) the same thing happen to mine. Three of us were able to reattach the front part of the unit enough to ride home. Called Tesla and they stated they are not responsible for any damage to the vehicle and stated I SHOULD DRIVE IT TO ONE OF THEIR RECOMMENDED REPAIR SHOPS! Really. They took the position that the very front of the nose of the car should only go up to the restricted cement guard and the vehicles tires should not be driven up to the cement restriction. This position is so crazy even a dumb person would know, if you did that, your unit would be hanging out at least 1 to 2 feet into the road way!! Common sense would tell anyone with 1/2 of a brain that there was not an earth quake, the cement restrainer did not grow, it was a problem with the unit. There have been 56 complaints registered about the suspension system on the 2013 S model Tesla according to the US DOT National Highway Traffic and Safety Admin. CS reps have zero authority except to try and placate one and pass the buck. Perhaps there should be a class action filed and a review of the engineering for this system since Tesla will not agree that if any part of their unit fails, any damages associated with the failure is at the cost to Tesla & or the supplier.

When our Tesla Model 3 was delivered, after an eighteen month wait, the delivery guy spent all of ten minutes with us, (because his Uber was waiting), he hurriedly took our payment and now we have waited over two months for our permanent registration and plates to arrive, and still nothing.
On 9/14/18, I contacted our internal advisor to find out why the delay? Turns out, even though we handed both our payment checks from our credit union to the delivery person, apparently they never got processed! Perhaps one might have been, but not the balance of the car!! To date, NO ONE FROM TESLA has explained what happened. It took a call to our inside sales rep to even find out that there was an issue! Now he tells us that we should be hearing from the collections people. WTF?
My credit union tells me that the check hasn’t been cashed, so I can only assume that Tesla or one of its employees LOST OUR PAYMENT! For the past several days, Now, I cannot even get any response from my inside sales representative. We are left in limbo. It’s entering into three months and no one from Tesla has even tried to address the issue. Meanwhile, we are still driving with paper plates and a temp reg. Unable to get the CA Rebate, unable to get the HOV sticker, and unable to get a better electricity rate without our registration.
Is this how TESLA conducts business? Because it’s not how I conduct business.

Gentlemen. NO COMPLAINTS HERE. Just wanted to say that I have always admired Mr. Tesla.
Now, to stop losing money, design a car that people will really want to buy! It’s not so much what’s under the hood but the looks of the automobile. I have seen so many concept cars but no one will make them. Come on now! Make a car that people will want and just have to have one. They will buy one. It can’t cost so much to build a concept car in production quantities. Keeping in mind, if you sale to the public a really good looking concept car at a low price, you will have a hard time keeping up with your orders. Why settle with a few hundred cars a year when you could sale thousands?

I have escalated my issue and have been working with Brittani Dean who was helping me to add additional panels to my roof because we were promised a 90% offset for our $35,000 investment in your solar panels. We have received only a 20% offset for the last 3 years. Brittani has helped me escalate this issue and we have approved the updated design for additional panels, but now she is non-responsive, and LADWP has no record of our pending installation. For the last 3 years I have been investigating where the discrepancy is, working with Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, hiring an outside Solar consultant, and working with Solar City. It was finally determined that it is a Solar city issue, so for the last 6 months I have honed in trying to get our new panels installed before our summer DWP bills cripple us for another summer. We spent $35,000 with the promise of a 90% offset on our bill. We were oversold an underperforming system and I need this issue finalized and solved. If we are not to move forward with the redesign and additional panels, then please come take the panels off our roof and reimburse us the $35,000, along with the $500 deposit we put down for the Powerwall. To spend this much and not receive what we were promised just looks like you scammed us. Please help us either complete this installation or removal. Just give us a resolution, we have waited 3 years and I would prefer not to take legal action.

The purpose of this correspondence is to inform you of my unsatisfied experience with the DC Tesla location. I visited the office at DC City Center to test drive a car and was told I needed an appointment. I provided my driver’s license, contact information and scheduled my appointment for the next day. However, once I got to the office for my appointment I was told they were too busy and was referred to Tyson’s office. This is unacceptable! Everyone’s time is valuable and would have expected Tesla to be more considerate and provide better alternatives. Just like I made an appointment, a Tesla rep should have contacted me prior to my appointment, to inform me of the situation and offered to give me a new appointment. Sending a DC resident customer to Tyson’s is not a fix. I selected DC location due to time restraints and Tesla for the customer service. The rep was not attentive and did not care if I was satisfied with the solution. I received a call from David from the Tyson’s location. I let him know I was not interested anymore and have moved on to a different brand. I hope this information will help you to understand the importance of customer service and customer perception.

Dear Elon, I recently made a career change from an automotive lube & repair shop which I ran and owned for twenty six years to a CDL Class A ATI approved school graduate last March. I currently work for a Spotting Company in Pennsylvania moving trailers in a yard for a mayor logistics company. Needless to say I’m totally bored to death of this job, I’m only fifty five you know! The trucking industry has a problem getting drivers as I noticed, first they need you to have at least two to three years experience which does me no good unless you go through their lengthy low wage making salary Training. My idea was that if you hire me to show the world how easy a novice driver with less than a years worth of training from certified CDL Training school and experience in trailer positioning from a Spotting company can actually drive one of these puppy’s. So how bout it give me a ring and let’s show these driver hungry companies how to make it easier to move freight with a better mousetrap. Thank you for your time, Tony.

Been wanting to send a note to the corporate office since last year. This is concerning the Fremont plant. My grandson was a temp there and i told him when he works there it is important that quality and not quantity is really important as that is what I have always believed and work that way at HP for 22 yrs. He had found a lot of parts he rejected and because the day shift complained he was told to just pass it. I told him to do what is right and if whoever told you to pass them as is can answer to upper management. This is why so many recalls are being done with so many car companies these days because of workers like them. Not only does the company suffer but also the employees too. But he did not like the vibes so he quit:very disappointed but that is todays kids I guess. Just wanted someone in upper management who cares about the way things are being run there to be aware. Big companies pay good wages and benefits and should be getting workers that dont deviate from quality no matter who tells you otherwise even upper management. It saves the company and jobs. Its not old school just the right thing to do.

I have always been a “Car Nut”. My First car was a 1934 Ford Coupe while in High School in the 50’s.
Since them, I have collected Classical cars from a WWII Willis and Ford Jeeps to a 1973 XKE V12 4 sp, Jaguar Roadster (Convertible).
Four years ago, I installed Solar Panels on my home here in Arizona to help with the cooling electrical bills in the summer and my Grand Children’s future.
I leased the panels for 20 years. My payout was to be in 4-5 years and now they are, or almost paid for.
Last year I sold most of my car collection so I could afford to buy a used, low mileage, 2014 Model S.
On PBS said, you said, it would cost around $600 per year for electricity to drive 15,000 miles in a Tesla.
Here is a better way, do what I did to help in the cost of electric for your home and then the Tesla gets Free electricity. So when my friends and admirer of my car ask, “what does it cost you to drive your Tesla?” I tell them “ZERO, for the best driving car every built, but come to think about it, it does need windshield waster fluid sometimes but Tesla does that at checkup time” But is does have two downsides:
1. Speeding tickets
2. How to get used to all that quiet.
The only thing I think would be better would be a Tesla Sports car, like my old XKE.
Humm, wonder if I could buy a XKE with a bad motor, and put the Tesla motors, batteries……..

If you remove the clock generator, you can create a billion plus option encryption based on time. If you place your stored energy in a confused state, then it will solve any explosive risk and allow you to store large amounts. When using a clock generator, use multi phases, unlimited encryption. Fiber optic channels in the body and frame can cut down on copper and speed up sensor response. Spark technology can boost power levels greatly, sparks produce much more power with less energy.

I’ve attempted numerous telephone calls to get an email address to Elon Musk. I’ve been given false information after false information, and talking to wall of protection from everyone I was asking to provide a simple email address.
I’m trying to relay some vital information for him to consider and pass on regarding Tesla Motors products if he so desires. If he is so protected from people are true Tesla Motors supporters and customers, it sends an unfriendly message (unless of course he has fully considered the subject matter I was writing to him about-which is impossible).
My disappointment is not in Mr. Musk, but some of the people he is surrounded by who think they are helping him by preventing him from reading a 1 page email that may be vital to his products, and their future.
I’ll await for a response from Tesla Motors before I waste any efforts regarding this matter.

Dear Mr Musk am a very happy Tesla Model S 85 owner, and I sent a letter to you on the 17th March 2017.
4 days ago I received a phone call asking me that my letter was forwared to the sales department of Tesla Sydney. They thought I wanted to buy a modelX, I explained to them that I was wanting an answer from Head Office about my idea for a charge option that could be sold with a new Tesla or added as a charge option.
They told me that they would pass it onto head office.
Today I received a call from your Sydney office to say that Tesla were not interested in charge options that they had to pay something for.
I said to them that I was sure that Mr Musk would at least want to look at the option.
If this is not going direct to Mr Musk, could someone please pass on my origional letter?

Presently, the trucking industry needs approximately 500,000 drivers, without which, this strategic industry will not meet projected 50% growth in freight capacity by 2020. An integrated NZR “Roycebuilt” tractor and ACCORD-Stinger Semi-trailer with d-TRAiN 5th Wheel Compound Hitch system and re-designed Tesla HD Electric/Hybrid Truck tractor could make a real contribution to the trucking industry world wide. In the 1970′ , I developed a DC motor controller that may be of your interest.
I do not have any interest in gaining monetary nor notoriety in any form!
As far as I know there are no patents nor claims for this concept an surely feel that your organization will ascertain it.
At that time, and presently, my knowledge of electrical effects consists of the basic laws.
Th assumption of TIME is usually not expressed.
Thai is the factor that this controller is based upon. It also has some capability for generation., bu it is not it’s primary function.
I would gladly disclose all in this email but my typing capabilities are limited to a single finger, not physically, just inept!
I don’t believe that there is a space for my Ph # so here it is; 520-226=XXXXX

I am retired, Worked several years as a power lineman, have owned my own business and worked as an engineering inspector for a firm in the bay area.
I monitor my calls via caller ID so if you do, please ID Tesla otherwise there may be no answer.

Hopefully it will be someone that is well versed in the basic electrical laws.

Dear Tesla Motors
When I heard about the powerwall, I knew right then, things are about to change for the best. 10 years ago I had a concept of making a self sustained power unit to power an entire home eliminating the need for an electric company. One of the problems with my concept was having a big enough battery, in which you guys just came out with. My idea is a lot cheaper than solar panels and to me it definitely seems feasible. And this idea could be scaled down to portable self sustained power units, like portable generators. I just cant afford the resources or the technology to make this a reality. You guys have some brilliant engineers and I’m guessing they already thought of my idea and it didn’t work or you will be coming out with it soon. Either way, you guys are on the right track for clean energy and a better environment.
Thank You
Jason Pickard

The smartest people in the world work for you people. Make a front wheel drive and enlarge the rear axle to about 9 to 12 inches or so and build a charging system in to the rear axle itself like a large alternator or generator. as the wheels turn then the charging system in the axle will charge the batteries. depending on how long the charging system in the axle is 5ft long or so should do it and how fast you are going it should keep the batteries at a full charge at highway speeds and maybe even slower. a high output low rpm system is what is needed for speeds around 35 to 40 mph. if you people don’t know what you are doing then contact me and I will let you know what I have in mind.

Last exaple in a list of poor response: Just gave a call to Tesla Tilburg. After going trough the selection dialer, I heard the message “”Tesla is closed at the moment. Opening hours are from 09.00 tot17.30″” Wel, at this moment it is 14.35hrs, so pretty early closed today?
Gave a call two weeks ago. Nice guy at the pone. He prommised me to call back same day. Still waiting.
– Waiting for red connector. Still not delivered, mist it hardly last week at a drive to Germany. Had to stay a day longer to charge slow on 230 volt, and a 400 volt socket not used at the wall was available…(Yes, cost me a lot, far more than a tank of gas)
– This wekend conectivity totaly lost, now, monday, back again, sometimes showing Amps info.
-I phone of my wife shows range 400km, my andrioid shows 320km at the same time.(as the dashboard in the car) What is going on?
-Waiting for orderconfirmation of winter wheels for a very long time now. When will these be delivered or just be confirmed?
Is Tesla aware that many home sockets are refused by the Tesla adaptor? Tried somt 6 difrent locations in Germay, only one socket was OK (new buildings). Heard the same from an other Tesla driver. Earth conections looked all OK. Why is this?
Also note: Netherlands need the adaptor for quick cabrgers as used for Nissan Leaf asap. Not only for Japan please!
The car is basicaly doing fine, but as a daily user I have some comments about isues that can be done better. Where can I hand over my remarks (to benefit Tesla)?
