Today the company is an oil and gas exploration, marketing, and production company that owns properties that produce oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids in the Rocky Mountains, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. In addition, WPX owns 69% of the South American company Apco Oil and Gas International.
