Allister Greenbrier wanted to enjoy Cosplay and other unique forms of fashion, but with an LGBTQ twist. Verillas Lifestyle was founded in 2014.
The company sells a variety of goth-inspired clothing, including kilts, boots, and other types of clothing. Verillas also sells Cosplay type items, such as wings and leatherwear.
Verillas has come out with Pride (gay) inspired items every year since 2016.
While Varillas is a popular site for Cosplay fans and the LGBTQ crowd, it gained unwelcomed notoriety when the Trump-supporting group Proud Boys, showed up at a “Stop the Steal” protest event, with all participants wearing the same yellow and black kilts from Verillas.
Owners Allister Greenbrier and Justin LaRose saw at least $750 worth of clothing in the photos of the Proud Boys. They donated $1,000 to the NAACP to “redirect hate to love”. The company also retired the yellow and black kilt design.
Varillas Lifestyle maintains a corporate office in Fredricksburg, Virginia.
