Originally called The Green Shoe Company, Mr. Green sold his half of the business to Slosberg a few years later. The company acquired The Keds brand and Sperry shoe names in 1979. Today, Wolverine WorldWide owns Keds, Payless, Sperry, and Stride Rite shoes, acquiring them in 2012 for $1.23 billion.
