During the 1950’s 3M expanded to Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Australia, and the U.K.
In 1979 3M introduced a commercially available digital audio recording system. In 1980, the company introduced Post-it notes.
In 2002 3M acquired AiT Advanced Information Technology Corp, for $37.4 million in cash.
Today 3M produces more than 55,000 products, including adhesives, abrasives, laminates, dental products, electronic materials, electronic circuits, car-care products, and optical films.
