Slyman’s Restaurant was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1965 by current co-owners Fred Slyman and Pat D’Onofrio. The company operates a casual, American style restaurant.
The company licensed out the name “Slyman’s” to a small group of restaurants in Northeast Ohio, but there are no franchises at this time. The restaurant is a well-known marker and is so popular that customers are often left waiting outside since the restaurant seats only 60 persons. Slyman and D’Onofrio opened a second location ,which is slightly different from the original, in 2015, called Slyman’s Tavern, which seats 150, as well as offering a to-go menu.
Slyman’s Restaurant offers typical American fare, including chicken, salads, sandwiches, but no alcoholic drinks. Slyman’s Tavern, however, will feature the same basic food items as the restaurant, including a few new options, as well as alcoholic beverages.

We ordered two deli trays via phone on 04/29/22 to be picked up on 05/01 at noon for my father in funeral. We arrived at the orange slymans location at 12:05 after the cemetery and had people at our home waiting. They told my husband that the order said 1pm but there was a computer glitch and apologized and worked on fixing it. It was when Steve “the manager” got involved that things took an ugly turn. Our order was wrong when my husband brought the food out to the car. It was not a tray, it was individual packs of meat and literally four slices of cheese. When I went back to explain one tray was supposed to have turkey and corned beef and one was roast beef and corned beef but we got a ton of turkey and literally (I counted) 8 slices of corned beef. The one line employee was apologetic and tried to make things right but Steve “the manager” decided it was better to stick a receipt in my face telling me I was wrong that the time was listed in his ticket at 1pm and he can’t just give away food for free. We had to spend another 37.00 to purchase the corned beef that was supposed to be included. The counter employees and the kitchen staffed admitted to the error and tried to make things right. Steve “the manager” has no business managing anybody or being in customer service. I am sickened by the way he treated us. He knew my husband had just buried his father and he would rather argue with us over the time and treat us like we were trying to get free food. Needless to say I will never patronize slymans again

Family decided to have lunch in Mentor. Even though the place was not to busy it took several minutes to be seated. Then another 10 minutes before we got water and another 10 for the water to be served. Ok know the table is contemplating if we should leave or not after server goes to clean a table instead of taking our order. Meanwhile more guest come in and are seated and we still have not placed our order after 25 minutes of waiting. Finally we are able to place our order service seems to be moving. When the server returns with our food…its cold. So another worker comes out and says ” you have to request your meat be heated we don’t put it on tbe grill.” What???so we send the food back with the request…all 3 sandwiches…and they come back with fresh bread…but the meat is still cold!! WOW. Never had this experience at Orange or St.Clair location We did get new hot fries. For 75.00 for lunch we had to take my meal home doctor and it up because it was not appealing at all. We will not be going back or recommending

My husband and I visited the Slyman’s restaurant location in Beachwood and to our surprise we were very disappointed when we got home to eat our sandwiches the bread was very cold and hard the Swiss cheese was very hard like a brick which was not up to our standards of Slyman’s we did call and spoke with the manager she did agree to remake the sandwiches then we had to ride up there in a severe thunderstorm which was such an inconvenience that was really not the Slyman’s standards that we are accustomed to very big disappointment

Today I stopped by the new slyman in orange and will never go back. My cornbeef sandwich and bread was cold as if they had it in the refrigerator. I called to speak with manager Sarah and she told me that there sandwiches are served room temperature. Wtf who eats a room temperature sandwich. All my 44 years in life I’ve never heard of that. Cornbeef is supposed to be hot. I spent 11 dollars on a cold ass sandwich. Very over ratted and priced. Very disappointed
