Roy’s Restaurant was founded by James Beard Foundation Award winner Roy Yamaguchi in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The company operates a chain of restaurants which feature a fusion of Hawaiian, French, and Japanese foods.
Yamaguchi says that his love of different foods originates from his Hawaiian born father and Japanese mother. After opening his first location in Honolulu, Yamaguchi expanded his chain to 29 locations in the US and internationally.
The restaurant chain is known for having an upscale atmosphere that is popular for weddings and large parties.
In 2000, Yamaguchi sold his interest in all mainland and international locations to Bloomin’ Brands for $10 million. Yamaguchi still owns the 6 locations on the Hawaiian islands. Bloomin Brands sold the chain to United Ohana, LLC in late 2014.
This listing is for the mainland locations owned by United Ohana, which maintains headquarters in Tampa, Florida.

You ruined my Valentines Day! Drove 30 miles, paid for a sitter for an 8pm reservation. Sitter and gas $100
They sat us at 8:30, Gave us water and 3 scallops and nothing else, took our order and then NOTHING. No drinks, no bread. Everytime the waitress came by she apologized for the kitchen. At 10pm, 2 hours later the waitress came back to the table and said there were still several tickets ahead of us.
My husband got up and left, after asking for the manager.
When the manager approached me the situation on ME for not asking for a manager sooner. Then a shortage of kitchen help, supply chains and Covid. How dare Roy’s insult me like that.
We have been coming there for 10 years. Have had Roys’s cater my company brunches there.
Without some sincere apology from Roys I will file my complaint with Open Table and every media outlet I can find.

Hi this message is regarding a former employee Treshauna (Trent) Medlin. I had reached out about a month ago regarding his position and he does not think he will be able to come back to work anytime soon. He did ask me to reach out regarding his paycheck, he did not receive it. The location he worked at was in Jacksonville FL. I had attempted to leave an inquiry on the website but there was an error message and I am not sure if it is on my end or the website. I am trying here as a second option.

Good Evening….I sent the email below to Roy’s on 4/20/19 and when I sent it, the response said that I would hear back from someone within 24-48 hours, or something to that effect! It is now 5/8/19, 18 days later and I have not heard a word back from anyone. I really was trying to help the restaurant and give some insight on our experience, and constructive criticism! Now, I am upset that no one has reached out to me in anyway to discuss or communicate that my email was received and or some sort of acknowledgement and that is really disappointing to say the least! I have not reached out to a restaurant or any other business in years, but I was really disappointed with the outcome of our evening at Roy’s in RM!
Here is a copy of my original email.

Good Afternoon,
We had dinner with two other couples at the Rancho Mirage location last Saturday Night 4/13. We made our reservation through Open Table for 7:00pm. My husband wanted to go to Ruth’s Chris for steak, but I convinced him that we should go to Roy’s because we had a nice experience on 2/23 while celebrating our 28th Anniversary at the RM location and because we had a $40 discount card that we received in the mail and why not save a few dollar’s? My husband Craig paid the bill, but forgot to give the server the discount card. When she came to the table with the paid check, I explained that I had the card and she told me that it was too late to apply the discount card because that check had already been closed, but that we could come back anytime before 6/30/19 and use the card. I am in the hospitality/customer service industry and I did not care for her respond, as I received two cards in the mail and I still had the second to use. If it would have been just Craig and I, we would have definitely asked to speak with the manager and get the issue resolved, but at that point I did not want to cause a scene in front of our friends, so I decided to just let it go. I’m not going to write a bad review on Yelp or anything like that, I just felt like I should share that we had a nice dinner and evening, but it ended with a disappointing experience. Thank you for your time. Heidi & Craig Collins

Would someone please help me. I went on your website and ordered a $150 gift certificate to have sent to my big brother for his birthday. They live on the Big Island. I told my brother to keep looking in the PO Box for the gift from Roy’s and it has not shown up. Would someone please look for proof of delivery or tell me where the gift card went. I was charged for a total of $157. His birthday was April 10th.
Invoice date: April 1,2019
Invoice number: 3551
Please let me know what has happened.
