David Roaman founded a women’s clothing store in New York City in 1966. He designed clothing for women of all sizes and soon began putting out mail-order catalogs to reach more customers.
Roaman’s was acquired by FullBeauty Brands, Inc. in 1982. The company still offers plus-size women’s fashion but has added shoes, handbags, and other accessories to their lineup.
FullBeauty Brands also owns other clothing and housewares brands including KingSize, Jessica London, Brylane Home, One Stop Plus, Woman Within, and most recently, the company acquired Catherines in 2020.
The popular television show “The 1,000 lb Sisters” featured on the TLC channel used Roaman’s clothing to dress Tammy and Amy Slaton.
Fullbeauty Brands has sought to support the Body Positive Movement in promoting messaging that runs contrary to the trend of using extremely skinny fashion models.
Roaman’s maintains a corporate office in White Plains, New York.

I submitted my email address to get 40% off. When I tried to buy a jean jacket on line and it would not honor the code I entered I called customer service to find out why. They said it was back ordered. I told them that’s a you problem not a me problem. so you wont honor my discount because the item is backordered. That’s the most rediculous thing I’ve ever heard. She said it may arrive next week. I told her so this is the lie you tell customers so you don’t have to honor your offers for discounts. Shame on you. For you people who think $100.00 at full price for a jean jacket is ridiculous go to TEMU its $15.59.

My mother purchased an outfit from this company to wear to my wedding. Since she purchased it, she found out she has cancer and has since lost a bunch of weight. We tried calling them to do an even exchange because the outfit she has now is swimming on her and literally her pants to this set are falling off. Because it’s been beyond 60 days since she purchased it, rightfully, so as she was preparing for the wedding and wanted to make sure she had something to wear as a mother of the bride so she got it early. They will not do anything for us as far as an even exchange for a smaller size. She is 88 years old and doesn’t have the funds to buy a whole new outfit at $219! They’re not going to lose any money because it’s an EVEN exchange and they still will not do it! Horrible business practices, and optics, by not assisting somebody with cancer!

I place several orders with Roman and returned everything but two items that were left behind. I have paid for those items. Romans continue to bill me for those items. I don’t owe Roman anything . Customer service is horrible. One of the supervisor gave me the number to H S N just to get me off the phone.

I need help – your contact form isn’t working –
Order #40034867426 – tracking says “exception” and that it left New Jersey a week ago – where is it? When is it going to be delivered? You could walk here from NJ in a week.
Order #40034579703 – tracking says exception too – what does this mean? Where is it? Says it was in Geneva 2 days ago – but I haven’t received it!
These are the logistic companies/shippers you choose to use – they are not my choice. Where are my orders?
Please email me ASAP with an answer as to when these will be delivered

I sent shoes and a sweater to my aunt who is incacerated. Days later I got an email that part of the order was delayed, the sweater. She wasn’t allowed to keep the shoes and had to return them to me because she doesn’t have access to the internet. I tried to return them. It was technically passed the 60 day return policy, however, it was not if you took into consideration the delay in the shipping part of the package. The shoes are unworn and in perfect condition. I tried to talk to many people at customer service to find some resolution and was hung up on several times. Every time I asked to speak to a manager they said there was no one and that someone would have to call me back but they wouldn’t work with me to find a solution either. Such a shame. One agent even said it was unfair. Shame on this company. I’ll never order again and I will be filing complaints.

My husband purchased 2 bras from Roamans for me for Christmas, and he did shop early. I unfortunately was unable to try them on until 2/1/22, do to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately they did not fit, I then placed a telephone call to customer service, and was advised to send them back indicating the reason for the return was sizing. Which I did, then on 2/12/22, the bras were returned to me indicating no refund as it was after the maximum return date. I then called customer service again spoke to someone ( and I do have names by the way) whom said that was their policy basically no exceptions I asked for a supervisor who indicated the same thing and that he was unable to make any exceptions I explain to him I found this to be unacceptable customer service as sometimes things happen in people’s lives that are unforeseen but to no avail I am now quite frustrated with this situation I am further crying to obtain a number for the corporate offices in hopes of escalating my concerns but as of yet it seems that customer service is not Roamans main concern only the profit margin. I do find this to be quite disappointing as I have purchased many things from Roamans in the past and have always been quite satisfied with the products received. But as I stated I have not yet given up.

Yup. Got the same reply! My mom has cancer and lost a bunch of weight, now the outfit she got for my wedding in less than 2 weeks is falling off of her and they will do NOTHING for an exchange! They will lose NO money because it’s an even exchange for a smaller size.
Terrible business practice! She had cancer and there is no provision or regard for that! Do not buy from this company!

They target the elderly on purpose. I’m trying to get an issue settled for my 87 year old mom. She did nothing wrong and they are threatening to ruin her credit over $12 that she does not owe. The Reps are clueless and can barely speak English. Comenity Bank aka Bread Financial is largely responsible for these fraudulent behaviors. Well they’ve messed with the WRONG daughter. They drew first blood. It’s on.

Romans also opens fraudulent account in people names and evens lies to the credit bureau. I have been trying to clear an account in my name for months, and they have continue to lie. This week I go courthouse to take out summons for them.
They also uses community Bank who is no help and only send you bank to Roamans, for more lies.

Roamans customer service is the worst ever. I have had to call 3 times to get my address changed and still have not been successful. I placed an order that I never received and it went to my old address. I have spoke to 5 reps and the last rep hung up on me. I will never order from this company again. I have been a customer for many years.

Roaman’s seems to be trying fraudulent practices to sell to its customers by showing large discount via 50% off BOGO sale. While there are some sales, it’s only for a small subset of their items, even though they’re using it as a marketing ploy
