Wingstop was founded in 1994 in Garland, Texas, by Antonio Swad and Bernadette Fiaschetti. The pair already owned a Pizza Patron restaurant but wanted to create a restaurant that was fun and offered something unique.

Wingstop is a franchised restaurant chain that specializes in chicken wings and dipping sauces. Each location features an aviation theme with nostalgic tones from the 1930s and 1940s.

The company is currently owned by the Roark Capital Group and went public on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol WING in 2015.

As of 2018, the company has locations in 13 countries and more than 1,250 restaurants.

Wingstop was listed as the third fastest-growing restaurant chain in the US in 2015.

Despite the coronavirus, Wingstop offered shareholders dividends of 528% in October 2020.

This has lead hedge fund owners to continue to recommend Wingstop shares to their client’s portfolios.

Wingstop maintains a corporate office in Dallas, Texas, and has plans to build/renovate a new corporate office in Addison, Texas, soon.

By 1975, Selby had two restaurant locations and he began franchising the following year. Selby conceived a new business approach in the late 1970s. His idea called for more square footage of casual dining space, an expanded menu, thicker pizza served with much more meats and cheeses, sub sandwiches along with a salad bar.

That concept has proven to be highly successful. The company now has 165 locations in 10 states.

During the coronavirus crisis of 2020, many Mazzio’s were forced to close and conduct only delivery service or take out orders but many locations are now looking forward to reopening.

The company sells spicy fried chicken with different levels of spiciness being offered, along with side dishes such as coleslaw, French fries, baked beans, and Southern green beans. Desserts include banana pudding, hot chocolate chip cookies, and fruit cobbler.

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken now has 8 locations, with the most recent being opened inside the Cosmopolitan Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2018. and in downtown Chicago in late 2019.

The company is planning on opening a location somewhere in Texas in late 2020 but the actual city has yet to be announced.

Hugo’s Tacos began as Hugo’s restaurant in West Hollywood, California, in 1980. Tom Kaplan and Richard Brenner decided to open a fast-food type of taco stand that still used Hugo’s original taco recipe.

The first Hugo’s Tacos was located in Studio City, California, and it opened in 2005. There are now three locations, with one in Atwater Village, California, and Woodland Hills, California.

Chef Nabor Diaz Prado used his family recipes and re-created taste memories and traditions, fused with his experiences at, and ideas from, Hugo’s original restaurant. The tacos and other food items have an authentic Mexican flavor that is extremely popular.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company stopped service at tables and offered only to-go orders from customers who wore masks. A few customers, angry that they were refused service due to the lack of a mask, screamed racial-slurs at employees and threw items at them. The restaurant decided that, for the safety of their employees, they would close temporarily.
